  • In this video is hat tutorial for beginners, i just used the stitches sc, dc, hdc, front post and back post., this hat can be made in two sizes (medium and large). This is a very basic hat tutorial.

    This is the best video for learning a beanie from the top down, there is no " trust the process " moment. It all makes sense from the beginning. very ADHD FRIENDLY ❤❤❤

    I started on a Grey Ribbed Stitched beanie for my dad and got in bed and saw your video on this one. I will make this instead for him and by the way I just ordered the same labels off Amazon a few days ago. I love making hats.

    I messed up a whole slip stitch knit hat before starting this one. Your explanations and methods were such a relief!! Thank you for explaining things well but not too much. It was perfect. I'm excited to give this to my hubby for Vday ❤❤❤❤

    It's a nice hat pattern, but it'll be nice if you say the number of the round that you're on. Beginners would be completely lost.

    I am glad to find your video, it was a great work u do. I would love to make the same like yours. But for me as the Beginner, the way how u do the stiches are too fast, hard to follow. Need to watch it again and again😁. But thank you for posted this video

    Can you show us how t crochet an XL beanie please. I’m a beginner. Never crochet in my entire life and I’m 74. I plan of making a beanie for my husband because he gets cold very easily. He wears a big beanie. 🙏😊

    If you were going to make a toddler size, say four or five, would you decrease one or two rounds?

      Yes you can do the decrease rounds on the crown and the body depending on the size of your child’s head circumference then you can continue for the brim

      Hi, I used pound of love yarn by lion brand , they only have 1 pound per skein but if you wanna use other brand 7 ounce each color is more than enough for one hat

    Hi, great video, I have a question: I only have 4mm and 5mm hook and the head circumference is 23", can I still use this same pattern or do I need to increase some more on the stitches please? Thanks in adavance

      Hi, you may want to continue do the increasing to get the right circumference for your size before you proceed on the body part of the hat . Thanks and happy crocheting

    I liked the pattern, but the magic circle is still SO hard for me. It would be nice if you would tell what round your on. How many rounds are total. It would be nice if there was a written pattern.

    Hi mam thank you for this video, i was watching all the tutorilas of crocheting the beanie but i found yours very simple and clearly understandable, but how can i measure my hat with my husband's head? Im afraid if i use your counting it will become big for him, i just want it to be fit for him. Thanks for reply😊❤

      Thank you, for the length measure it from round 1 where the magic ring down to the brim, and for circumference measure the brim area (10” inches wide from side to side =20” inches circumference/ 12”inches wide = 24” inches in circumference. I hope it helps you.

      Use a tape measure to measure your husbands head, wrap it around he’s head to check he’s circumference

      @@GinaZampagaE i finished my beanie for my husband.. what i did is, i crochet until round 5 (3 single dc at three chain and 2 dc at the same shirt.. i didn't include another increase (of 1 single dc at the 4 chain and 2 dc on the next chain).. and then i went to round 7 (1 dc on each round) and i repeat 2x (to make it larger).. then i went 5 more rounds of 1 dc on each rounds (bcoz my yarn is single only with 2 diff.colors).. then i went to 1 sc on each chain then 1hdc on another round, then went to front post-back post (3 rounds)😊

    Just made the medium size and it’s really too large for my son who is 20 years old. Would you suggest missing out on the last increasing rows and a normal row of double crochet? Also, I would love to do this hat for a 1 year old baby what would you suggest? Thank you 🙏🏻

      Hi, sorry for the late response, you can reduce 1row for the crown instead of 4dc in each stitch stop at 3dc increase. And for the toddler size here is the link EASY Crochet Toddler Hat | Crochet Hat for KIDS | Kids Beanie Crochet

      Hi, try doing a multiple of 14(begin your work with 14 dc instead of 12 dc) and add a couple rounds of increasing for the crown before starting to make the body of the hat. I hope this helps.

      It measures 20’ to 22’ in inches diameter, not sure in centimeters

    This was very easy but for some reason My hat came out very big and I counted all the stitches like you did not sure what happened

    I’m completely lost on the front and back post double crochet

      The beginning ch2 is counted as the very first back post and followed by front post then bphdc then fphdc then repeat bphdc and fphdc alternately then the very last stitch will be fphdc and join on top of the beginning ch2

      If I’m not mistaken it was 16 or 17 rounds, but if you want the length of your hat shorter you can reduce round for the body before starting the brim

    I seem to be getting 44 stitches instead of 48. The precious round has 36 stitches. Can't seem to find the error

      Hi there, please restart it again I believe your mistake is at the beginning of the round , you suppose to have 12 stitches in the ring . In the ring make ch3 ( counted as first dc) then make 11 more dc , total 🟰 12 dc in ring including the beginning ch 3 , thank you for reaching out

      Thanks for your prompt response. I double checked the 1st Rnd has 12,2nd has 24 and 3rd has 36. The instructions I am following: Ch3, 1dc in nx st, 2dc in nx, 1dc in nx 2,2dc in nx (that's 8 dcs) and then you said 1dc in nx 2, 2dc in nx, 1dc in nx 2 (6dcs) that would be for the next 30 stitches for a total of 36. 36+8=44. Not sure what I am missing in the instructions. Thanks for some more clarification

    How is starting with a magic ring "beginner friendly"? Maybe one day I'll find a tutorial where someone explains it so that it makes sense, but this tutorial did not.

      you can make an chain 4 and slip stich in the first chain. Then you will have a hole that can be used as a a magic ring. You chain three and make the double crochets inside the hole
