5:04- it could be the difference between why Kira got it and Diavolo didn't- Kira was truly cornered yet was determined with his (villianously misplaced) pride and determination to turn the tables. In contrast, Diavolo wants it despite having immense power already out of a sense of entitlement despite having given away all but one of the Arrows he produces Stand users with- only reactively truly to get it instead of letting fate allowing him to earn it. He wanted to stack invincibility on top of his nigh invincible power. Jojo Villains get their power-ups when cornered, Diavolo always avoided being truly cornered- so when he finally was cornered, he had no determination to fall back on.

@@LucianPosey No, epitaph just foretold what would happen with the whole stand arrow situation and Diavolo mistook it for Giorno dying when in reality his stand was just evolving.
@donaldtrumplover2254 Giornos stand had already reached Requiem by the time Epitaph had shown Giornos death. It's to show that GER could not be influenced by Fate. It's part of the theme of Part 5.
This is eye-opening. I always thought there was only a simple theme between KC and GE Requiem, thinking they complimented each other as "removes cause keeps effect" and "removes effect keeps cause", but I did feel that did not make any sense to me. I also thought of the infinite death loop as an extended version of GE's Life Shot (as jojowiki labels the ability), endlessly giving him life and also resembling the dream-like state his soul is in eternally. But I still thought of the entire Requiem arrow as a power-up arrow, which enhanced some of one's abilities to insane levels. However, following that logic, I never really understood what Chariot's usual abilities had to do with souls, or how its requiem stand seemed to have been pre-determined as Polnareff is already seen observing the same stand design and soul-swap ability before he uses it in the Colosseum. This made me think that Requiem versions, and in turn stands are all predetermined and people can only be born with a fighting spirit and thus be worthy of gaining a stand.. But even from the succeeding part Stone Ocean, stands like Dragon's Dream were shown to have been derived from the user's knowledge of assasination feng shui, which the user Kenzou couldn't have been born with. So I was always in the dilemma and eventually like most of the fandom just went with "It just works", especially because the Requiem concept is from the same part as King Crimson 😅. But this, this is beautiful! So, this video is a real eye-opener that I really needed as a serious fan of JoJo's. The series is known for explicitly explaining a lot of its themes and concepts in frequent deliberate prose so I never really knew I needed to make the effort to connect the dots to understand some themes. I'm happy that learning of this definition of Requiem will now set me on a new bizarre journey of discoveries in JoJo's!

@@Wattson19 Yes, but Polnareff getting the same Requiem stand when he was in hiding and when he was in the fighting against Diavolo at the Colosseum threw me off. It got me thinking surely Polnareff must have more resolve in a life/death scenario than chilling in a courtyard so he must have gotten different requiems. But, the theory that he has completed his journey of development in Stardust Crusaders and hence him getting the same Requiem with the same abilities twice makes sense as during this time he doesn't have much of character development per se.
So, are we actually going to go with this? The fact that BTD is a requiem stand? Because requiem can dominate souls, which is what i assumed Kira was doing to Hayato and what's still happening to Diavolo. I know requiem stands can dominate souls, but i didn't know if BTD fully fit that concept when i first read P4, but it makes sense doesn't? Also, I love P5

3:30 I like to think that people "chosen" by the arrow are people who have an active goal they are chasing or a strong wanting for something. When Giorno first got his stand, he was alone and abandoned by his mother and father. And so his stand was able to give life to objects that would keep him company. Once he was peirceed by the arrow by black sabbath, then he probably still saw himself as alone at the time so his stand remained unchanged. And for the old man, he was, well... old. He had already lived his life, and so he probably didn't have a dream he wanted to chase. Thus, the need for a stand would be obsolete.

As they are searching for Dio, Avdol feels his hand get pricked by something sticking out of the wall. He then reads the message and events continue on normally until the end of the vanilla ice fight. As vanilla ice is crumbling to dust, cream comes out and releases everything it’s ever consumed, including Avdol. Polnareff places the corps of his 2 friends next to each other and we get the scene of their spirits saying goodbye. As Polnareff leaves we see that Polnareff left their bodies next to the remains of the pillar that had the message and in the ruins we a stand arrow. Then Avdols body starts to glow bright red. We continue on with the rest of the story up until the point where Polnareff saves Jotaro but gets knocked out by Dio. After Jotaro and Dio move the fight elsewhere we see a familiar silhouette approach the unconscious Polnareff. The figure kneels down putting his hand on Polnareffs shoulder and summons a stand “Magician Red’s Phoenix! Get up my friend, the fights not done yet” Polnareffs wounds are then healed, even the parts of his body he lost were regenerated. The two of them then join Jotaro to fight Dio as he finishes draining Joseph’s blood and they all fight. Dio still has the upper hand since he just powered up but as the fight continues and Jotaro gets used to time stop the tides turn and Dio is defeated. They return to Joseph, try the blood transfusion, manual heart pump, AND magician’s red phoenix to revive Joseph. Jojo will forever be among my favorite pieces of fiction along with other series like HxH. I like Zeraora because Ultra Sun was my first mainline game and I loved it, and the episode where Ash and Pikachu end up in an Ultra Beast ravaged post-apocalypse was so cool to me as a kid. Zeraora and Pikachu's dynamic where Zeraora is portrayed as a more mastered Pikachu was great writing. Also I main him in Unite. I just love his design.
Koraidon and Zacian are close behind. Koraidon because he's cute and has an amazing design and he's the only legendary that you get to befriend throughout the game, and Zacian because Sword dog save world from Darkest Day
I'm so glad you made this video man, I have been preaching this for years now but people always dismissed the arrows just because, despite them being THE most important thing that appears since part 3 to 6, being the main point that kick-starts all the events, it is technically not even the jojo's story, it's the beetle arrow's story, and both arrows are DEEPLY related to fate, part 5 obviously being all about fate and part 6 also being in great part about fate
If Whitesnake were pierced with the arrow, I think it would be fitting to call the resulting evolution Whitesnake Requiem, because he is carrying on and trying to finish the work of DIO, who is dead. But this would not fit with Stone Ocean or with Pucci himself. Also, Happy Belated Birthday, man. I hope you had a good one.

You could say Mega Evolution is the Pokemon version of Requiem like Mega Rayquaza is its final song. BUT I want to see Vaporeon Requiem! Also funny Kaleb used the image of Kamen Rider Kabuto; that's a requiem to the main protagonist and the secondary rider's journey.
ive always loved zygarde, green and black is a beautiful color combo and he looks like a tank when at 100%, the anime and i love how he is the median of the balance between life and death themselves
Wobuffet is my go to favorite. Being very simple, but effective with what few moves it has. Plus it's practically iconic after years of tenure in the anime
I know alotta ppl were confused with the end conflict of Part 5; especially with King Crimson’s Time Skip and Chariot Requiem’s Soul Swapping abilities. The whole point of the soul swap was to prevent Diavolo from getting his hands on the Golden Beetle Arrow: which in spite of not living a life like Giorno still would have made things quite problematic for the group had he done so! I think this video helped make things a bit more clearer what exactly happened and why.
It's quite a unique detail that the hand Black Sabbath pierced is the same hand which is always in the play of developing Gold Experience abilities. It's also the hand where the Requiem crawls inside of.l to get in Gold Experience
I don't know exactly why; the best explanation I can give is that, after seven generations of wondering which was the one above the rest for me, I took one look at Bewear and said "that's the one" and haven't wavered
I really love Delphox, it's a cool witch and the only psychic type starter (one of my favorite types). I love how it draws inspiration from classic fantasy RPG mages.
3:55 i think the reason why it didn't work was because it had no reason to because kira had a reason he wanted to keep his identity hidden and will kill to do and when though he hates fighting he will fight as for giorno at this point he didn't have something to fight for besides join the Mafia and when he fights diavolo he's trying to fight to protect his team giving him a reason to fight unleash more of his fighting spirit allowing the requiem arrow to deem him Worthy because of it and not the regular arrow as that point he wasn't ready yet.
For the longest time. Mine was Lucario, but after finally playing a mainline Pokémon game, Gallade has been my boi. One of my favorite explanations of requiem and jjba's character progression and development, wonderful video.
I love dracovish because of it’s goofy design, yet when was released to sword and shield, unintentionally, it was the strongest pokemon in the whole game
I just realized something... Requiem, bites the dust, both are phrases relating to finality, the end of something. I'm not exactly sure what this could imply, but it's at least a cool coincidence.
I love Regigigas, the idea of a massive titan pulling the continents apart then being forced into a slumber because of people being so fearful of its power is so cool to me
Greninja has always been my favorite, I don’t know what it is I just really love the design, and I feel like a ninja frog is a cool idea. Not to mention, Frogie is freaking adorable

My favourite Pokémon is Crobat for more sentimental reasons. When I first played Pearl, I had a Zubat on my team which stayed that way for a long time due to me not being very good. When he finally turned into a Golbat, it took only one level for him to evolve again. I found out Golbat evolves through friendship (not sure if that part was before or after) and I thought, 'He really likes me that much?' and he has been my favourite Pokémon since.
Staraptor is a cool pokemon because of the reckless ablility, brave bird can severely damage most pokemon and even ko outright. This pokemon is a great way to punch holes in most teams if used well.
Oh cool, a random excuse to talk about the objectively best Pokémon THE ZORUA LINE! they're adorable lil' guys, and i love the story about how they'll sometimes fuck with parents by pretending to be their children
Alolan vulpix is objectively the best pet pokemon, its mega fluffy(especially the tail), its absolutely adorable, and its an ice type so its cool to the touch, making it the perfect pet for cuddling and petting, its like a cool fluffy pillow
Garchomp, my beloved. Love Garchomp for many reasons. The design is both insanely creative, yet also simplistic. It's a land shark which is just about one of the most insane design concepts for a Pokemon. And yet it's color palette is just the primary colors of red, yellow, and blue. The idea of a land shark would pray on so many peoples' fears of sharks which makes it super menacing. Speaking of menacing, it is Cynthia's ace, need I say more? To top it off, it's a pseudo-legendary, giving it 600 BST to add to how powerful this guy is.
Even if they didn't, I would want to make that a fact. It would be perfect for making katanas out of, since they would already be super sharp out of the bird. It would make sense that without blacksmithing as we know it they would essentially have to resort to something like that. Shame to never see it in canon, but I suppose that most fanboys don't care about going that deep into casual living/lore that isn't directly story or plot based.
Regice is probably my favorite Pokemon. I really loved the original regi puzzle in Gen 3 and Ice type has always been my favorite because of its ability to wall Lance in Gen 1
Emboar is my favorite because I had a Tepig named Whelm back in White 2 as my starter; he carried me through the entire game and was level 84 by the time I reached Ghetsis I've lost my old White 2 cartridge since then, and I still miss Whelm to this day
the requiem leitmotif is relevant because lust was the layer that minos ruled over, so it’s obvious that one of its level’s themes would be in his fight theme
Since everyone is talking about pokemon, I will now mention the (Kanto) Raichu Supremacy. Very underappreciated for the status it has. I might even say it is the Raditz of pokemon, only being used coincidentally? and has only a couple of big moments. Otherwise it is just like any other creature. Shame, but that's life.
Dio using the beetle arrow could also be due to his knowledge of stands and the arrows in general as well. Knowing as the one who took the arrow (without being bonded) was Pucci, as he was able to progress Whitesnake into C-Moon, and MiH. Throughout part 3 we get to know that Dio had been building his team of goons with stands for a while, but we dont know how many people failed to gain the powers and just died. So he could know something about the different arrows and their uses that would stay buried forever lmao. Also, Greninja, fuckin love that dude, i love frogs
I find it comical that the explanation for Holly not being able to have a Stand is due to a lack of "fighting spirit" when even a baby, a dog, an eagle, a turtle and a pair of RATS can have a Stand without any problems.
animals that fight for survival daily vs. a stay at home mom who was the daughter of a multi millionaire. who do you think should have a stronger fighting spirit?
I love Shedinja because he is a tricky little fella, is cute, and has a lot of symbolism

ive always loved zygarde, green and black is a beautiful color combo and he looks like a tank when at 100%, the anime and i love how he is the median of the balance between life and death themselves
Rattata is my favorite. Just the cutest scrappy little thing.
I love Snorlax bro they are sooo cute they even let people play on their belly. Thank Kaleb for listening to my Pokemon Ted Talk.
Dragonite go brrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Dachsbun is a bread dog and Emboar is a spicy pig. Why are all of my favorites food-related?
Because food is important?
Food is life?
Dachsbun is peak Fairy Type.
@@RPK_96 That could be it, I do love food
Wobuffet is my go to favorite. Being very simple, but effective with what few moves it has. Plus it's practically iconic after years of tenure in the anime
Gallade is underrated as hell and should have been in Pokken Tekken. "I RUclips commenter, shall allow none to harm this gentleman!"
Requiem is the power of the notification bell
I love Lucario, he's just cool. If he was real, he'd be a cool friend
Diavolo is basically getting stuck on the final boss, also I love mudkip
Lapras is the goat, so tender hearted and kind, even when humans hunted it to near extinction❤️❤️
Ngl getting back into my jojo phase has me in a vibe to try and make a Jojo game
did you start?
It's amazing how one story can be so well written that the symbolisms give you so much to think about for generations onwards
My favorite Pokémon are Bulbasaur because I grew up with LeafGreen, and Braixen and Vulpix because they’re just little fox guys and I love them ^^
Flareon, it's fluffy and cute. And has the same attack stat as Machamp lol.
That false prophet...
Alakazam. Back in elementary school if you had a pokemon card of him, you were considered the coolest kid (And I agree!).
Big fan of Frosslass, mainly because of the typing but also because of dodge gimmicks
Mega lucario has no business being so clean bro. That form fresh as heck bruh. I like lucario a lot.
You should really talk about Echoes' evolutions next, the connections between the early concept of Requiem during part 4 with the "Acts" of Echoes
I just realized something... Requiem, bites the dust, both are phrases relating to finality, the end of something. I'm not exactly sure what this could imply, but it's at least a cool coincidence.
I love Regigigas, the idea of a massive titan pulling the continents apart then being forced into a slumber because of people being so fearful of its power is so cool to me
Unbound hoopa is awesome! 6 arms looks cool
Oh, and Lucario because I was introduced to Pokémon through the D&P Lucario movie
I have an inexplicable love for Duskull, and it's final evolution, Dusknoir, takes the souls of the dead into the afterlife
I like clodsire for obvious reasons. He’s a silly round guy who you just wanna squish and hug. Like. He’s just the best thing ever
Staraptor is a cool pokemon because of the reckless ablility, brave bird can severely damage most pokemon and even ko outright. This pokemon is a great way to punch holes in most teams if used well.
This is a hard topic to talk about. But I know you will give us the right information.
FACT: giorno actually died when pierced by black sabbath and the rest of golden wind is bruno's immagination
I love gible because of the fact he is a silly little guy and when he evolves he becomes a monster
Krokorok is the raddest fella, he has a natural swagger and effectively natural sunglasses, he's so cool, I love him.
The moment Mareanie fall for James, I fall for this adorable poison goober
Oh cool, a random excuse to talk about the objectively best Pokémon
THE ZORUA LINE! they're adorable lil' guys, and i love the story about how they'll sometimes fuck with parents by pretending to be their children
I always thought of G.E.R.'s ability to be like "Oh, that happened? Actually, it didn't. Check again.*
diavolo is pretty much getting edged, he can't die but will always experience how it may feel to die but never actually dying
Before watching, I'd imagine it's whatever the stand user needs at the moment and they'd have to need it desperately.
What about now?
trying to put logic into jojo is doomed to fail, its an experience
Alolan vulpix is objectively the best pet pokemon, its mega fluffy(especially the tail), its absolutely adorable, and its an ice type so its cool to the touch, making it the perfect pet for cuddling and petting, its like a cool fluffy pillow
I love Empoleon because he has such a cool design with the trident-look on his head
Meowscarada has always been the goat like this a tricky lil fella
Garchomp, my beloved. Love Garchomp for many reasons. The design is both insanely creative, yet also simplistic. It's a land shark which is just about one of the most insane design concepts for a Pokemon. And yet it's color palette is just the primary colors of red, yellow, and blue. The idea of a land shark would pray on so many peoples' fears of sharks which makes it super menacing. Speaking of menacing, it is Cynthia's ace, need I say more? To top it off, it's a pseudo-legendary, giving it 600 BST to add to how powerful this guy is.
Did you know that people used to make swords from skarmory's wings?
Even if they didn't, I would want to make that a fact. It would be perfect for making katanas out of, since they would already be super sharp out of the bird. It would make sense that without blacksmithing as we know it they would essentially have to resort to something like that.
Shame to never see it in canon, but I suppose that most fanboys don't care about going that deep into casual living/lore that isn't directly story or plot based.
Ayyy, that was some really good character analysis for Giorno and Diabolo!
Gengar is my favorite due to me loving ghost types and it also carried me in Gen 4 pokemon even more so in Gen 5 pvp.
Great video, happy birthday and Bidoof is the GOAT
Regice is probably my favorite Pokemon. I really loved the original regi puzzle in Gen 3 and Ice type has always been my favorite because of its ability to wall Lance in Gen 1
Hatenna is my favorite pokémon due to looking absolutely pathetic.
Emboar is my favorite because I had a Tepig named Whelm back in White 2 as my starter; he carried me through the entire game and was level 84 by the time I reached Ghetsis
I've lost my old White 2 cartridge since then, and I still miss Whelm to this day
Jolteon
Part fox which is my favorite animal
And Electrik type, my favorite type
It was made for me
the requiem leitmotif is relevant because lust was the layer that minos ruled over, so it’s obvious that one of its level’s themes would be in his fight theme
My favorite Pokemon is Lilligant. I just like the reference of it being a literal flower girl. Was also the MVP of my first playthrough of Gen 5.
Giorno didn't have the immense pressing need that kira did.
I love mudkip, there is no other reason besides him being an awesome little guy.
Shame, but that's life.
which stand that isnt a Requiem already would be the strongest Requiem?
tusk act 4? wonder of u? star platinum? crazy diamond?
Dunsparce is a Pokémon so perfect that its evolution just made it longer.
I'm a big fan of both Furret and Dusk Lycanroc. I remember how hype the reveal for Dusk Lycanroc was.
4:24 WHAT PISTOLS
When my boy Empoleon hits the field, there is nothing you can do.
I find it comical that the explanation for Holly not being able to have a Stand is due to a lack of "fighting spirit" when even a baby, a dog, an eagle, a turtle and a pair of RATS can have a Stand without any problems.
What's wrong with them having a stronger will?
@@Jacksontrooper777 Nothing, I just find it funny that a RAT has more willpower than Jotaro's mother
animals that fight for survival daily vs. a stay at home mom who was the daughter of a multi millionaire.
who do you think should have a stronger fighting spirit?
@@Seinsmelled And the Baby? Its a evil baby, but still just a baby
@@Truck-kun11So what if he's a baby what does that have to do with anything? He has a will to kill the Joestars
So its the same type of requiem as star platnium
chariot looks TERRIFIED when he gets stabbed
I don't have a single favorite pokémon, but I have an adoration for ground and bug types.
give me a squirtle or an oshawott, i'm happy with either
Typhlosion, I like the explosion/flame collar and the vibes. Especially the Hisuian version
Mega blaziken is just absolutely awesome
