It's a shame Fugo completely disappeared after the first half of the arc, considering how truly deadly and useful his Stand is. In fact, in the novel "Golden Heart, Golden ring", Fugo (while confronting the book's female protagonist Coniglio) kills along the way more people than a serial killer. Bro is truly a threat.
It's pretty curious that the Colosseum played an important role in both "Golden Wind" and "Battle Tendency", despite both parts being completely disconnected from each other. That said, I imagine Polnareff saying to the Gang as he gave them instructions: "By the way, when you go to the Colosseum, be very careful. An old friend of mine told me he was there once and barely made it out alive. You never know what kind of danger you might find in those ruins..."
Fugo: "And how is Giorno doing now that he's the Boss, by the way?" Mista: "Good, although the way he acts now is quite...bizarre" Fugo: "What do you mean?" Mista: "Well, I don't know why, but he's gotten into the habit of spending the entire day lying in his bed, naked from the waist up and in complete darkness, not to mention there's always something like a fog around him. Also, I think he's starting to write a diary." Fugo: "Meh, Giorno was always a case. By the way, how is Narancia? I cannot wait to hug that little bastard again!" 😊 Mista: 😢
Bruno’s story always makes me sad😕the lack of selflessness he displays throughout the entire story is honestly so underrated, especially considering for half of the plot he was dead and he never once vocalized any regret or negative emotion, he just accepted it and embraced his fate, he was constantly sacrificing his whole life, being able to pick up on others emotions and situations, utilizing that natural kindness he’s always had, ever since he was a child and he chose to live with his father, it was just one of the many examples conveying the righteous and compassionate core of his being😭😭💔💔that’s why he’s my favorite character fr😭😭🙏🙏
I think a cruel but intentional tragedy in Narancia's death is that he dies while in Giorno's body, so technically we never actually see Narancia again post-Chariot Requiem in the timeline of Golden Wind. Abacchio's death is sudden but we do see him get the closure he needed. Bruno's death we knew was coming a mile away. With Narancia it was sudden, brutal and the story doesn't give us the same level of closure that we got with the other two.
I like how this video is the complete opposite point of view to that of the Stardust Crusaders version. The Stardust Crusaders version spoke of what had become of the survivors. The tragedy that had followed them even after Dio’s demise. This version instead focused on the past of the characters. What led them to the world of the mafia Passione. This video corresponds with the previous video perfectly and it’s incredibly well done!
I love how bucciarati is not just the leader of the group, but also is the father figure of everyone there. That's why he's my favourite caracther in this part.
A death i think is overlooked is The Janitor’s death, an innocent man who died because of the righteous path that Giorno chose. It led him to realize that his actions have consequences. It shaped Giorno's character and influenced his moral compass for the rest of the part. The unjust death of the Janitor caused him to become more serious and focused, leading him to take decisive and ruthless actions in pursuit of justice. Like him straight up murdering Polpo. It also had a profound influence on the relationships Giorno formed with other characters in the series. It led to a shift in his behavior, making him more serious and focused on his goals. This change in demeanor affected how he interacted with other characters, as he became more determined and less likely to engage in lighthearted or casual interactions. It also lead him to develop a strong sense of responsibility for the well-being of others. He became more committed to protecting his teammates. It instilled in him a deep understanding of the value of life and the importance of protecting those around him. Making Giorno willing to risk his own life to ensure the safety and success of his team, demonstrating a selfless and courageous attitude that was shaped by the Janitor's tragic death.
One small issue I have with "Golden Wind" is that Araki missed the perfect opportunity to get the Zeppeli family back, considering the setting in Italy. In fact, it would have been a cool plot twist if it had been revealed that Bucciarati is a Zeppeli on his mother's side
I mean given the running old decade meme about how apparently every Zeppeli dies when helping a Joestar…Anyways Bruno could possibly be one like it could be a similar situation such as how Jotaro Kujo is literally just a nephew and a cousin who has Joestar blood.
Caesar wasn’t the only Zeppeli left but the last one to pursue and use hamon and I’m pretty sure the rest went on to live regular lives. Unless somehow they got involved with Passione in part 6 and became stand users maybe but they have to have some tie to hamon or have a mentor/partner role since that how it worked in parts 1 and 2. Even in part 7 Gyro is a partner and mentor to Johnny when it came to the spin.
I honestly think he intentionally didn’t do that in order to make Gyro in Part 7 even cooler and more special. I dunno how spectacular Gyro would’ve been if we had had a Zeppeli coming back before that too, yk? But it would’ve been cool had we for example had an ending scene with Bruno’s grave saying “Bruno Bucciarati Zeppeli” or sum, just a subtle hint at it, not a major plot point
I disagree, when every things revolves mysteriously around 1/2 family the universe seems almost jokingly small, like in Star Wars. Imagine how ridiculous it would seem if in a random town in the world you get both the son of Dio, Polnareff and a Zeppely family member. I appreciate the restraint Araki shows in reusing characters
The section on Abbacchio really epitomizes what I love about the character. He’s up there as my third favorite anime character, so it’s great to see such a solid analysis of him. Good work
Honestly, I think for me part 5 is the realest part. Its not really about how heroic a family is, but its about how normal humans try to survive in a fucked up world. How every individual tries to find a purpose. That's why its my favourite part.
While Kaleb’s versus, what if and how strong videos are really good, I feel like he always really hits it home when he puts out analysis vids. It’s not just some typical explained video with a simple rundown of the story’s events, it’s a genuine look into the subtleties and meanings that Araki puts in his story. They feel less like analyses and more like love letters to the series as a whole and goddamn is it good.
I just recently finished watching part 5 for the first time, after years of not watching JoJo. This video reflects a lot of my emotions and made me see it in a new light in certain parts. I have to agree, this feels like a love letter, and it gives me genuine happiness.
Part 5 best all together group. Whether it’s dynamics, backstory story participation Golden Winds Jobros best group in series. Even villain groups in this part are next level! Risotto and crew are so memorable for not being the main bad guys!
The tragedy of "Golden Wind" reminds me of this iconic Italian saying: "When the Sicilians wish you "Cent'anni"...it means "for long life"...and a Sicilian never forgets
Thank yoy for laying respect on Vento Aureo in year of our lord 2023... The writing of the part and the characters is really emotionally intelligent and you get that.. good descriptions of their motivations and back stories.. well done
Great vid. GW remains my favorite Jojo part, and one of my favorite singled-out series in general, because of how deep the motivations and environment play into the characters and story. Even though its a work of fiction with magical punch ghosts yada yada, theres just enough real-world truth in it to really make it hit home as you see stories similar to that of Narancia, Abbacchio, Risotto and others play out in real life everywhere. It keeps GW forever relevant and really embeds itself as a great work to analyze.
Ngl, I wish Doppio would become a separate entity from Diavolo and then a member of the Gang. In fact, the novel "Jorge Joestar" does that, not to mention that he even has his own stand, which allows him to turn anything into a phone. Doppio certainly deserved better.
I completely forgot that was Risotto's backstory, dude was in the right, but then again I am biased. On January 23rd, 2022 I was hit by a drunk driver and was put into a coma for 13 days and spent about a month and a half in the hospital. A little over a month ago the trial was supposed to happen but just a week before the trial was supposed to happen it was called off because the dude was working on a deal, apparently he is only a month in jail, and yeah that makes sense, totally! I didn't spend more than that in the hospital and I won't be living with his mistake for the rest of my life, no not at all! Btw it wasn't his first driving while drunk offense, but yeah good Wisconsin law for ya, looking out for the drunkards before anyone else because this state is built upon booze!

😁👏👏👏you did a great job on this video, with explaining the sad and tragedy life of characters in golden wind, but from me what makes the deaths hit harder in part 5 is you feel so close to all the characters and wanted them to live and have a good life, and feel that it was taking away all to soon.
I just realized that you can change up part 5 to make it longer and maybe just maybe pace better. If the gang and la squadra team up near the mid way point, maybe face off against Chocolada and Seco together and then have the final fight with the boss. The true or secondary conflict can come at the end where Bruno’s group and risotto’s have differing ideals of how Passione should conduct them selves further sparking an ending arc where once again Risottos gang is cut down, one by one, leaving him and Giorno to face off. Idk I kinda like that better, especially because I agree that part 5 ends a lil abruptly.
If you think Golden Wind couldn't get sadder, Araki originally intended for Fugo to return as an enemy of the Gang, who would have been forced to kill him to save themselves. However, Araki dismissed this idea because it was too depressing and sad.
