I remember when this happened. Marvin Harrison was the last guy anyone would've expected this from. When it happened I thought they got Harrisons mixed up and meant James Harrison.
You really thought they meant James Harrison? When though he was a completely unknown, undrafted rookie that no one knew at that point? Bro he was a practice squad player when this happened lmao
Harrison is innocent until proven guilty and this happened over 15 years ago and he still hasn't been charged so I don't look at Harrison differently. Harrison is one of the greatest receivers of All-time and he deserves every single accolade that he's ever received, especially the NFL Hall of Fame. I'm a Colts fan and what Harrison was able to accomplish on the football field was amazing. Although now it seems his greatest accomplishment was being able to leave the city and become a famous multimillionaire on his own terms. Unfortunately his father and brothers would probably be more proud of what he's done on the streets instead of his football career but no matter what he was dealt a bad hand from birth but he didn't let that stand in his way.
Well the shots came from HIS gun... that is a fact... AND his "those guns have been locked up in my safe for a year"... a lie- they weren't... and they ARE HIS. They is proven. HE LIED about them being locked up... He knows what happened, and witnesses said they saw him... Yeah, not charged, not guilty by court of law... but it takes a willing ignorance to pretend this means he's blameless. Face it, he's a thug and a violent person...
He probably did nothing but protect himself. I have family from philly, that can be a real tough city with people constantly testing you. Especially if you're a little famous.
This leaves out a GREAT deal of facts that drastically impacts the tone and view of this man. THe polics in question had a grudge against Harrison due to his paying "protection" money to the police that they were intimidating business owners into paying. Within surrounding law enforcement circles it is pretty well known that statements and evidence concerning Harrisons firearms was imagined, tweaked, twisted and had reports rewritten concerning them 8 TIMES!!! The "victim" was a convicted felon of many crimes while also being a CI (criminal informant). While some may think this may provide him with some protection, it was just the opposite, he was expendable and due to his record, no one would question it. OH, and those witnesses that backed Dixon's story were all closely related to officers. Dixon had also made comments to officers when annoyed or when things got heated concerning his knowledge concerning the shaking down of businesses for that "protection" money. This obviously didn't sit well.
I was at a car dealship out of state. And there was a dude in the lobby losing his mind on staff and he just looked legitimately crazy. 30 mins later when he left and everything settled down I found out it was Marvin Harrison.
Marvin Harrison in his post playing career is probably more chill than you would expect, but he’s an intense guy and the “dogs are barking” wherever he goes. In life you have hyena personalities everywhere. I would guess 99% of the time he ignores it, but that 1% of the time can be bad…
Lol nice job making excuses for this gangster piece of shit. "Oh he's chill" as he shoots people and chokes kids...but he's a good football player so it's all good
First of all fantastic work once again on your videos! Secondly Harrison makes an interesting case study for nature vs nurture and how much of each could determine one's behaviour.
I followed Marvin since his days at Syracuse .. All time great receiver with Donovan McNabb at QB .... I met his son Marvin Jr. When he volunteered at the Rescue Mission with his high school football team ... Such a polite young man !
It’s just weird to imagine someone as humble and quiet as Marvin Harrison appeared to be during his career, being capable of the things he’s been accused of doing.
He was probably a narcissist and thought he was better than everyone or above speaking to them. People are bonkers and most aren’t even aware they have faulty wiring. As a reserved person myself, I find it difficult to quit beating up teenagers but I would never ever stoop so low to the point of having to be in Indianapolis. That’s just sickening. 🤢 lol
Marv had businesses in a bad neighborhood. And sometimes you have to do what you have to do. He probably shouldn't had his business in these neighborhoods.

@lilrizzofficial Well, I don't have to make anything up. I'm saying this from experience. I used to live in Philadelphia, and some of these fools will make you go there., For some reason, black folks have a culture of thinking people are chumps because they make an honest living, or they are celebrities or athletes, and these street thugs think they can take advantage of them. So that's why I said that Marv probably had to do what he had to do. and I don't blame him, And you don't hear about anyone f****** with him anymore. I'll tell you that much.
I just recently found this RUclips channel and I’m so glad I did. I’m a younger guy who for most of his life hasn’t payed attention to the NFL but this channel produces the highest quality and most entertaining videos on the platform. Bravo
People are quiet and humble for a reason, they've seen too much. They go out of their way to avoid bullsh!+, but society view it as a weakness. Not knowing that a Man that speaks less is a very dangerous Man. Just like a Dog that doesn't bark.
Ill say this.... One of my boys used to be a police officer in the 22nd district in Philly and straight up didnt want to talk about Marvin Harrison... or give me any details about his then pending cases.
This man Marvin Harris was trying to serve a community who in turn due to his celebrity status bully Him threatened and harassed as they would do anyone of this level trying to provoke you to react to get a lawsuit and in most cases it doesn't work out in the person's favor everyone is looking to get a payday but this shows you can ultimately possibly lose your life. What I see in this narrative that's being spun is a man who got tired of people trying to take advantage of him and decided to fight back there's two sides to every story before you rush to judge find out that men's story allow him to speak his truth because honestly we don't know what happened we are on the outside looking in and if we are led by the words of others we can be Miss LED with anything wouldn't you want someone to hear your side of the story if you were in this man's shoes before they rushed to condemn you
This is a prime example that when your a good athlete the law doesn't apply,It starts in highschool and then college,by the time their pro their use to it
Harrison is still a good person, got in a bad spot had to handle some stuff. Thats all. He isnt a monster, i knew about this case right when it happened, spent a few nights looking into it. Opinion of Marvin has never changed.
@@BrutalBuckeye I get it bro, you watched 15 minutes of this video and you THINK you know the whole case. I read up on this case years ago. So arguing with you about something that I know to be a fact, would be dumb, just like your comment.
I like how this proves how a narrative and framing of words by this documentary maker can show someone in a negative light without providing the complete context.
Or it shows how the rate for solving murders in America is roughly 50%, and in cities like Baltimore Philadelphia and Detroit where homicides happen more frequently, the solved cases percentage goes even further down…..for example, in Baltimore the rate for murders being solved is like 20%. In Philadelphia the solved murder rate is like 40% solved…..meaning 60% go unsolved…..why can’t this be one of those cases?
Just found your channel, I have already watched 6 of your stories. Very sad, I love football ,went to my first game when I was 10. My mother made my dad take me, his brothers took there sons. That Baltimore-Indianapolis play off game was the first game where I thought something was amiss in the NFL. It seemed to me that McNair was paid to throw those 2 interceptions when they were about to score TDs within the 10 yard mark. Both times he threw them to an Indianapolis defender with not an offensive player close to the defender. After that I closely watched games/plays. The games are fixed. It wouldn't take much either. Just 1 or 2 players and 1 ref.
What year?? 2003? I’d like to watch the film. I do believe there was more games rigged up until 2013-2014. Some games today are predetermined but I think it was more common back then. The Refs are in on it but I find it hard to believe the players are aware. Like the refs know who should win so they make calls favorably. Boxing is easy to rig, you only got 2 fighters and 1 ref.
WOW!!!! I never heard about any of this. I am 55yrs old and one thing my Dad would always say in my “lying” teen years is what’s done in the dark will always come to the light… & it ALWAYS DID!!! As a Saved & Redeemed, Follower of Jesus Christ; I now know that my Dad was quoting scripture Luke 12:2-3. God sees “Omnipresent” everything and if it is His Will everything will be revealed. WOW what a documentary!!!!
This seems like one of the most overlooked off field events for any famous NFL player. Evidence definitely suggests something was up, but until he's found guilty in court, innocence should presumed. Probably worth mentioning there's no statute of limitations on murder charges...
Had no idea what an absolute p.o.s yet the media kept Terrell Owen's out of the hall of fame just for being a clown. This guy's a bad dude shouldn't collect accolades. But again the states have a way of looking past awful things if the person is good at their job

Obviously Marvin was guilty but Dixon seemed to be a neusance and wouldn’t leave Marvin alone. If you’re starting shit at a bar and they can you, don’t come back and move on like an adult. Instead he came running his mouth, got his ass beat and got what was coming to him. But, to go back years later and kill him after you got away shooting him? That’s cold blooded murder.
If Marvin had a boisterous personality, I feel like way more people would have found out about this stuff. But since he’s quiet and keeps to himself, he’s gotten away with a lot of crap. It honestly should be a lesson to people how to not get caught but people love talking about what they did and post it on social media.
Yall gotta understand lol. Marvin Harrison is from North Philly. He used to date my homie’s older cousin. It was some shit going down WHILE he played in Indianapolis that y’all would be surprised he was part of lol. He wasn’t no mob boss or anything like that, but if you fuck with Marvin or his family, he WILL stand on business.
I remember being younger and having doubts that he'd do such a thing. I hope none of it is true, but I wouldn't be surprised if they ever found him guilty. I never knew the full extent of the situation so this video was very informative. Great job. 👍
I think it's funny in this video that it says cops found five of the six shell casings matching Harrison gun, but then later on in the video they say that Marvin Harrison emptied his clip. So which is it because they'd have more than five or six shell casings?
I knew guys that played with him at Roman Catholic. He was a tough kid with wild connections in Philly’s young drug gang world. He was just good at foot ball. You can take the kid out of the hood, but you can’t take the hood out of the kid.
I noticed that dixon saying he feared for his life , said he stayed away from that neighborhood, yet later on he's eating next door to marvins bar ? He's also slinging the whole time, & this shows a routine visiting (Dixon )to this restaurant. Clearly , showing no fear of the area, & possibly intimidating and pushing this to a higher level of intensity,,,,, this a case where u have a Gangsta justice being served by a OG

It’s Owens at 1. Moss at 2. and Harrison at 3. on that list. And if we add Calvin Johnson into the conversation, I’d take him over Marvin as well.

You can't call Marv a killer until he's convicted.... Streets saying Big Boy was trolling Marv all for a money play, and it went bad for him.. Play stupid game, you get stupid prizes.... 🤷🏾♂️

I remember when this happened. Marvin Harrison was the last guy anyone would've expected this from. When it happened I thought they got Harrisons mixed up and meant James Harrison.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
ahahahahahaha. Even when James Harrison smiles he still looks menacing.
You really thought they meant James Harrison? When though he was a completely unknown, undrafted rookie that no one knew at that point? Bro he was a practice squad player when this happened lmao
@@Mrsingingdude1 2011? You're joking right? Get on Google, stupid.
There are men you just don't mess with. They will go off.😮
Harrison is innocent until proven guilty and this happened over 15 years ago and he still hasn't been charged so I don't look at Harrison differently.
Sounds like he’s innocent 🤓
Well the shots came from HIS gun... that is a fact... AND his "those guns have been locked up in my safe for a year"... a lie- they weren't... and they ARE HIS. They is proven. HE LIED about them being locked up...
He knows what happened, and witnesses said they saw him...
Yeah, not charged, not guilty by court of law... but it takes a willing ignorance to pretend this means he's blameless. Face it, he's a thug and a violent person...
Well I guess OJ is innocent too
@@realcade OJ said that he didn’t do it and then they found him innocent, remember?
He probably did nothing but protect himself. I have family from philly, that can be a real tough city with people constantly testing you. Especially if you're a little famous.
He’s that man. Quiet and calculated. Calm and ready.
I believe, when Marvin passes away, he should be examined for CTE .
Majority of NFL players have it at some degree.
Seen this story before and had to watch again because it's one of the most intriguing stories I've ever seen💯💯💯💯

Marvin Harrison had all this going on and got inducted into the HoF meanwhile they had T.O wait 2yrs for the HoF because of character issues. 😂
They know what they want to promote😂, a black man being sure himself fighting for his worth isn’t a good look.
@@saucepoisfosseI’d pick Harrison for my team any day over TO
You think you’ll do more premieres like this? I think it’s great
Definitely!
I followed Marvin since his days at Syracuse .. All time great receiver with Donovan McNabb at QB .... I met his son Marvin Jr. When he volunteered at the Rescue Mission with his high school football team ... Such a polite young man !
Quinton Spotwood was my guy back then too!
Polite young man. Sure.
McNabb wasn't his QB... it was Marvin Graves
He’s like Wayne Brady in Chappels Show 😂
Marvin Harrison walked so Aaron Hernandez could run 😂
It’s just weird to imagine someone as humble and quiet as Marvin Harrison appeared to be during his career, being capable of the things he’s been accused of doing.
He was probably a narcissist and thought he was better than everyone or above speaking to them. People are bonkers and most aren’t even aware they have faulty wiring. As a reserved person myself, I find it difficult to quit beating up teenagers but I would never ever stoop so low to the point of having to be in Indianapolis. That’s just sickening. 🤢 lol

Bravo
Thanks for the kind words. These kinds of comments really motivate me.
People acting as if Harrison was like Wayne Brady hanging out with Chappelle 🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
Apparently he is. We all have our dark sides.
People are quiet and humble for a reason, they've seen too much. They go out of their way to avoid bullsh!+, but society view it as a weakness. Not knowing that a Man that speaks less is a very dangerous Man. Just like a Dog that doesn't bark.
Exactly 👍
Well said. Couldn't say it any better.
Ill say this.... One of my boys used to be a police officer in the 22nd district in Philly and straight up didnt want to talk about Marvin Harrison... or give me any details about his then pending cases.
great video brother.. first time hearing or seeing your channel. Well earned sub!
I’m really shocked about this story about Marvin Harrison, he seems so quiet and just like a normal guy
I remember this story from OTL espn series… Marvin was respected but wild man in Philly… his family was no joke
What I see in this narrative that's being spun is a man who got tired of people trying to take advantage of him and decided to fight back there's two sides to every story before you rush to judge find out that men's story allow him to speak his truth because honestly we don't know what happened we are on the outside looking in and if we are led by the words of others we can be Miss LED with anything wouldn't you want someone to hear your side of the story if you were in this man's shoes before they rushed to condemn you
I probably just wouldn't kill someone in the first place so there would be no story to tell.
Very well done, you post quality content.
Thanks so much! It means a lot.

When I was a kid Marvin went to the same barbershop as me. "Kenny's" Indianapolis... super cool laid back dude!

I like how this proves how a narrative and framing of words by this documentary maker can show someone in a negative light without providing the complete context.
Facts this doc is trash
Or it shows how the rate for solving murders in America is roughly 50%, and in cities like Baltimore Philadelphia and Detroit where homicides happen more frequently, the solved cases percentage goes even further down…..for example, in Baltimore the rate for murders being solved is like 20%.
In Philadelphia the solved murder rate is like 40% solved…..meaning 60% go unsolved…..why can’t this be one of those cases?

That Baltimore-Indianapolis play off game was the first game where I thought something was amiss in the NFL. It seemed to me that McNair was paid to throw those 2 interceptions when they were about to score TDs within the 10 yard mark. Both times he threw them to an Indianapolis defender with not an offensive player close to the defender. After that I closely watched games/plays. The games are fixed. It wouldn't take much either. Just 1 or 2 players and 1 ref.
Factoid
What year??
Ever listen to the Dwight Smith interview?
On point. Some games are fix.
Excellent content, and it sounds like you may have fixed the audio 👍 TY

This seems like one of the most overlooked off field events for any famous NFL player. Evidence definitely suggests something was up, but until he's found guilty in court, innocence should presumed. Probably worth mentioning there's no statute of limitations on murder charges...

The n f l def didn’t want that out too long, I think he did it
He has to live with himself. He stood up to the bad guys..
When is it safe to say, link all the violence to CTE. When a player takes his life, we’re quick to link it to CTE.
You basically repeat the EXACT same thing four different times. Why?
Obviously Marvin was guilty but Dixon seemed to be a neusance and wouldn’t leave Marvin alone. If you’re starting shit at a bar and they can you, don’t come back and move on like an adult. Instead he came running his mouth, got his ass beat and got what was coming to him. But, to go back years later and kill him after you got away shooting him? That’s cold blooded murder.
It wasn’t years later it wasn’t even a year later. And wasn’t no going back Dixion died around Harrison’s sports bar.
If Marvin had a boisterous personality, I feel like way more people would have found out about this stuff. But since he’s quiet and keeps to himself, he’s gotten away with a lot of crap. It honestly should be a lesson to people how to not get caught but people love talking about what they did and post it on social media.
How boring can you tell a story?
