Im 39 years old . I grew up throughout my high school years watching Jason Williams. I lived on the east coast and TNT had the Sacramento Kings on all the time . I’ll never forget watching him for the first time . I played point guard in high school but i was a scorer . I would shoot 25-30 shots a game . I was averaging 25 points . After my sophomore season entering my junior year something clicked inside me after watching a game when Jason had 13 assist . That entire summer i would take a basketball and not shoot 1 shot . I never went to a basketball court all summer . We had a county court house and it has about 50 steps . For 5-6 hrs a day all i did was up and down non stop . Rain or shine dribbling . By the time the summer was over my ball control and dribbling was totally next level . I couldn’t wait for basketball season to start . Our very first practice i brought the ball up left handed (i was a always right hand dominate dribbler ) crossed over and instead of pulling up i threw a laser down to my forward . After about 5 trips up the court and 5 assist with no shots coach pulled me aside and said to me when did become a complete player . I went on to have a school record 23 assist in 1 game breaking the previous record of 12 . I owe a lot of my playing achievements to seeing Jason Williams . He put a passion in me to get better overall and not be just one dimensional.

The thing JWill never gets credit for which made him such a nightmare to opposing players was his speed. He was incredibly fast and could penetrate past anyone with the ball in complete control. That gave him so many options- pass, shoot, whatever. Unless you watch full games now, it's hard to appreciate this other insane gift of his from just the highlights. @Trice- Well done on the documentary. You nailed it when you said his greatest contribution to the game was how it made fans feel when watching him. He was pure joy to watch.
Without really knowing i was thinking about his speed too. Theres no way an nba defense falls for all those fake plays unless jwills speed and threat of going to the basket forced them to guess
Saw his last high school game, (losing at states to Beckley) with Moss was unbelievable. U could see the “SuperCracker” magic i.e., the “now u see it; now u don’t” passes even back then. If he had been signed to stronger teams from the jump, his speed & misdirects would have made him a household name.
I watched him playing in a high-level SEC game for Florida against my Ole Miss and I was shocked to see that by far the fastest guy on the court for either team was this white guy. Florida would have won if Billy Donovan had kept him on the floor instead of constantly shuffling players.

Yep. I’ve been sayin that. People just don’t know how great Pistol Pete was. Ironically he didn’t model his game after Pete’s but it’s so damn close with the exception of shooting. Did Trice mention at any time in this doc why he called the doc "ColorBlind" ? I admit I fastforwarded repeatedly while watching. That's why I'm asking.
@@charleskalish8230 I went with "ColorBlind" because he proved that the color of your skin doesn't determine your skill level. Too often in society we let the amount of melanin a person possesses be the deciding factor of what we think of a person or their abilities (and not just in basketball either). ColorBlind just refers to letting someone's game speak for itself, not their skin color. Thanks for watching!
@@TriceOfficial Makes sense. However, I was thinking in terms of Williams' color blindness, i.e.,it's rare that you see a white person so absolutely comfortable with blacks. In fact, I'd go further and say that his natural speech is that of a black man which is even more uncommon. Usually you can tell that a guy is putting it on. I'd like to learn more about him; I think he's special even beyond basketball.
Loved his overall game and impact on the style of the NBA and the new version of point guard. Flashback to Maravich. He was fast and had incredible endurance which caused havoc to others defense. He ran and entire game. Thanks for letting us watch his greatness!
J Will is the ultimate basketball player. Not in terms of stats or physical ability but in his ability to make you love watching the game. That’s how it should be.
That's right Jake. Manu Ginobili, kuwait leonard, Kevin MacHale to mention a few are that kind of players you like to watch, I saw this man Jason Willians playing and I tell you he was a Natural, Gifted Talented plus his Love or basquetball. And in the end got his Ring well deserved.
Imagine JWill playing for D’Antoni in his system… dude would have been even more legendary. People these days go on and on about Kyrie’s wizardry with the basketball and forget that there were guys like this who were just as spectacular back in the day. Definitely one of the most exciting players ever. That SAC offense was beautiful to watch.
Top draw trice Fantastic video,. I'm 50 yrs old, and in the UK,it was really hard to see televised games in the UK through the late 80s to the naughties, hardly anything live, only 1 TV channel showed games back then, and although we had the pleasure of watching the passing of the torch from Jordan to Kobe,it was Jason Williams we all wanted to watch back then, especially in the UK he has a massive fan club here too. As the game started to be played above the rim and became much faster and about dunking etc, yawn.lol, Williams was like a throw back keeping the grace of passing and teamwork in the game so to speak. I felt in love with basketball watching the 05-06 Heat, mostly because of JWill and The Flash. But White Chocolate is my favorite player of all time to this day. What a legend!
As a Gator grad and a big fan of the Heat, I’ve followed his career closely. The word “anticipation” comes to mind when I think of JWill as every time he touched the ball you wondered what he was going to do that you’ve never seen before. The problem that he ran into in the mid part of his career is he would sometimes feel the need to make a fancy pass rather than a safe one, which led to the increase in turnovers, which you just can’t have as a point guard. He may never make the HOF, but he’ll be remembered forever for his flair and innovation.
Love that. "Anticipation" definitely comes to mind when thinking of J-Will. You never knew what you were about to witness! One of my favorite aspects of his career is the way he developed himself into a more reliable floor general as he reached Memphis and Miami. He knew that if he wanted to lengthen his career and eventually win a championship, he'd have to become more of a true PG. Thanks for watching!
My all time favorite player. I was a sophomore and I looked up to Jason Williams and Steve wojochowski. Two completely opposite players but I loved wojo’s tenacity on defense and J will excited me every time he touched the rock

i remember 99 working at a tv repair shop as delivery driver me and my boy would watch sportcenter all day on the tvs that were repaired to test them watched so much kobe and williams great time in my life responsibility level so low great video thanks
Good in depth vid on white chocolate..as a young black man he was our white iverson😂
Glad you enjoyed!
I loved Williams but oh, Iverson was a genius. That was the difference. Iverson could attack a defense with his small size and narrow bones. It was just amazing to watch.
I agree
You all are talking about practice man...practice man...practice
@@ut6857 this dude🤣
Very exciting player too watch play ball. Always had u on ur toes when u watching him play
Awe man that was an Amazing look back at one of the best no look passers I've ever seen " WHITE CHOCOLATE" JASON WILLIAMS. THANK YOU.
This guy could ball!He was so reminiscent of Pistol Pete.I'm so glad he had got his ring. His impact on the game, merits him.being in the HOF in my opinion
Yep. I’ve been sayin that. People just don’t know how great Pistol Pete was. Ironically he didn’t model his game after Pete’s but it’s so damn close with the exception of shooting. JWill didn’t shoot as well or as much. I think that’s because he lived to pass. Where’s Pistol had the ultimate green light aka dad. And shoot he could.
I was thinking his game came from Magic

Williams/Moss couldnt be stopped. All of us in WV Appalachia were rooting for those good ol boys. Very cool times.
This man was not only a baller but a winner. No matter the team, he was in the postseason. Much respect. We are colorblind.
Thanks!
I appreciate your support!
@@TriceOfficial I love your stuff. I've only watched The JWill. When I watch the next one, ill pay you for the work you do. Everytime!

Dude was in the gym hitting X tape marks on the wall for hours and hours. no shooting, just practicing that pass! Love the mans ambition.

Basketball genius, creative & spectacular , love his game
yeah. finally someone sum up jwill's whole career in a balance and positive vibes. great to watch, brother. 🍻
@MClovin 2020 That was the goal! Glad you enjoyed the project.
True
Jason williams was so awesome to watch loved it really excited to watch the game when he was playing
Jason Williams was having troubles with his shooting percentage so he simply started passing the ball to the hoop what a legend
Top draw trice
Fantastic video,.
As the game started to be played above the rim and became much faster and about dunking etc, yawn.lol,
Williams was like a throw back keeping the grace of passing and teamwork in the game so to speak.
A true legend for sure, and great to see a small film pay tribute to him great work well done ✌🏻&❤️
I appreciate the support! It's very cool that someone on the other side of the world was able to be enjoy his play-style. Thank you for taking the time to comment! Glad you enjoyed the project!
Great job with this documentary my man ! I remember "white chocolate" and he was FANTASTIC to watch! Every game he left you saying : How did he do THAT and WOW! 😎
I appreciate the love! Glad you enjoyed it.
To me passing is more difficult and more important than scoring. Good passing teams are always winners.
Unfortunately most of them aren’t champs. But really fun to watch
Except AI team on sixer
They fucking can't
Agreed
Great passing is the foundation
@@adnimuhammad8860🤣
Truly deserving of a championship and the fact that every team he joined actually got good enough to make the playoffs. Glad I got to watch it growing up
He has to be one of the most complete and best players of anticipation with success behind it. Jay will is definitely a living highlight reel! He was a nightmare for a lot of people that faced him. So glad he got a ring out of it 🏆 /#55/
This guy was electric. I was lucky enough to watch him live in a game at MSG
Ill never forget sitting 13 rows up from the floor at arco arena, my Dad and Uncle sitting beside me, all of us nervous as hell as the kings were on the cusp of a deep pkayoff run when JWill stole the ball and ran down and made his 1st NBA dunk. That arena erupted. It was absolute chaos after that dunk. People lost their minds. I will never forget it as long as I live. Greatest Kings moment of all time for me.
I was living in Gainesville, Florida when Jason came to play there, wow wow waza he was something to watch Showtime himself, he gave basketball both collegiate and professional a bit b shot and in my opinion he ranks in NBA top entertainers from earl monroe, pete maverick, Jason was the best and the game always needs a baller like him, much respect white chocolate!!!!!!!
Literally my favorite player of all time. Thank you for inspiring me when I was just 13....
Lol last name have something to do with it? 😛

This brings back so many memories!! I literally watched EVERY Laker game, and EVERY playoff game, and as im watching this, as it gets closer to the Kings getting thru each year, all i can think and say is HORRY!!! That shot changed the future for both teams.

This is a GREAT video. Well done. The take at the end where you display JWills innovating passes with the current NBA was awesome!…and spot on.
I appreciate it! Glad you enjoyed.
If you didn’t witness this live as it was going on, you missed out...ESPN said 60% of the content requested by fans were for these Kings squads...
Those Kings teams were walking highlight reels.👀
@@TriceOfficial Williams&Webber were the Stockton&Malone of the '90s with a hip hop background.
Also to think that the only team in the west thsg could really put up a fight to te Lakers would have been the kings. With j . Dub. I think they could have gotten one if they didn't trade him but he got the last laugh as none of the kings and Bobby got a ring.. but he did.
This is now the J Will Doc that I’ll be showing the Lads..Loved it..Peace Mate✌️

Always sat down and turned the tv up, when Jason was on the court. Super cool watching what he might do.

@Eilliw Nodrog yeah, Jason Williams is so underated, he deserves more credit than he gets, in my opinion at least
Wtf? He played like 14 seasons how u not now lol

Top notch work bro! You hit the nail on the head - the man captivated those of us that were able to see the games as they were happening. Love how you snipped Steph and Ja's clips together, truly showing his stamp on today's game. Instant-subbed.

yo this was DOPE. GREAT WORK. Jason Williams really deserves this. a childhood fave player of mine💯

Love to hear it!
I can’t believe I’m just now seeing this. I remember j dubs from day one. Been a fan till day.
There are countless players that have won a championship and are now forgotten. Williams did indeed leave a legacy for this one simple reason. He was a special talent.
I forgot how slick this dude was. That elbow pass though.
Hey Trice u did an excellent & outstanding job on this piece sir, I applaud u with an standing ovation as well...Jason Williams is in my top 3 point guards of all time (Magic & Iverson)...I'm 52 now and I enjoyed watching this dude do his thang...Again good job on this

Amazing that such a small town in WV, where I don' t live far from in SWVA, had the talent that it did. Randy Moss, Jayson Williams, and another NFL player...all at the same time. Something was definitely in the water there, at that time
High Tide raises all ships! 👍
Bobby Howard (notre dame, academic all American,Chicago bears) Sam singleton (mlb drafted) Eric Moss( Ohio state, Vikings, Cardinals nfl) I played against all these men jr. High, High school they were all great talents..
I'm a SWVA baller and it always made me so proud to have not only JDub and Moss but Ahmad Bradshaw from like 10 mins from my town and got 2 or 3 rings w the Giants🎉😮

Watching from Philippines🇵🇭
I felt in love with basketball watching the 05-06 Heat, mostly because of JWill and The Flash. But White Chocolate is my favorite player of all time to this day. What a legend!
Jay Will was the SHIT! Straight BUTTER on the court! Called White Chocolate with the UTMOST respect!
Absolutely loved watching Jason play! Was such a talent.
great documentary. glad to have watched him play from college to his final game!
Glad you enjoyed!
White Chocolate was one of the most soulful players I ever seen in the nba ❤️
J Will deserves a Hall of Fame look. Boy was dope.
