Yes Shaq had more points in the finals but look who he had to guard and play against 39 year old rik smitts, 38 year old dikembe, and Todd McCullough. Not sure what games you watched that Shaq was guarded by one dude. Those guys may have been the primary person on him, but Shaq was getting entire front lines in foul trouble. One dude was not guarding him for long bro.
      Kobe was a side kick for that stage of his career. That is a fact no matter what you reply. Dude was not the primary option on offense despite him having more points in some games
      Kobe was not the person people worried about the most or feared the most through those 3 championships.
      Kobe was Robin to shaqs batman. Go ahead and try to rewrite history, but Kobe was not the most dominate player on his team. If you are not the most dominate on your team, you're a side kick.

    I remember those days well. I never understood how their issue was basketball related. They both got plenty of shots and their opportunities were endless winning 3 Championships in a row. I will always believe that their beef was not basketball related.

    • @MrKurtykurt
      @MrKurtykurt 12 дней назад +1

      The core of it, from what I can tell, was two personalities that could only coincide for so long in that situation. And basically, playing on the same basketball was catalyst and the reason for the animosity, but the animosity was personal. When Kobe was young and it was Shaq’s team he was able to tolerate Shaq’s lax approach if for no other reason than he had to. But as Kobe gained superstar status he was less willing to give Shaq the respect he didn’t feel like Shaq had earned. And Shaq wasn’t going to tolerate disrespect on the team he still considered HIS. So the situation just became highly combustible

    • @MrMixItup
      @MrMixItup 12 дней назад

      @ your statement has been well documented. I believe that some of their personal issues may have been pride driven. With that said, they were winning championships. Winning cures all, so again, I believe it was something else not made public.

    One accomplished incredible greatness with amazing physical strength and power. He could roll out of bed and put up HOF numbers. He quite honestly didn’t have to work as hard to be great. The other…. Well the other had ALL the intangibles that can’t always be measured or seen. KB was also extremely gifted as well. The difference was that he wanted perfection and would throughout his career strive to get even better. If Shaq had only 25% of that same drive, he would’ve been considered the absolute best. If he worked on his free throws, stayed in consistent condition, all the little things he couldn’t or wouldn’t be bothered with, makes one realize these two men were simply cut from a different cloth.

    Shaq is the spoiled older brother who is buddy buddy with everyone and who wants all the attention and is super lazt but usually gets what he wants, and Kobe is this other aloof, keeps to himself child who just constantly learns or studies to prove his worth. Everyone knows Kobe is the better and more hardworking kid, but chose to still pamper Shaq because he's super petty. At the end of the day the parents got so tired of Shaq's pettiness and lazyness, they threw him out of the house and had Kobe stay. Gone from house to house being super salty, meanwhile Kobe flourished without his "older brother" wanting all the shine.

      As much as Shaq could be a huge child. Kobe was equally a poor leader and loner that didn't involve his teammates in his life on and off the court. Brian Shaw called out Kobe in a team meeting for not ever going to any of his teammates parties or weddings. Kobe was NOT a leader from 1996 to 2006. He did not understand the team game and how to be a championship leader in that time span. Shaq was a goofy moron a lot of the time, but he truly cared about the comradery of his teams.
