Healing music - Buxtehude - Membra Jesu Nostri (pts 1+2)

Dieterich Buxtehude (1637-1707) wrote his seven-part cantata cyclus "Membra Jesu Nostri" ("The limbs of Jesus") in 1680. It is considered to be one of his finest compositions. It is also considered the first "Lutheran" oratorio. This sublime performance by the Concerto Vocale, conducted by René Jacobs, is very expressive, with heartfelt emotion.
