Love Allen Edmonds. Just some pro tips… Get fitted in store. They have multiple last styles and your foot may fit differently than other shoes. If you it’s a bit hard, ask a sales associate to stretch your shoes and soften the leather. If you get factory seconds, get fitted in store with a shoe that has the same last as the one you’re looking at online. It’ll save you a $25 restocking fee. Plus they can order seconds in store. Not only the Anniversary Sale is best time to buy their shoes but also Fathers Day and around Christmas too.
I started buying only Allen Edmonds several years ago other than gym sneakers. I now have 7 pairs of boots (dress and more rugged), 3 pairs of dress shoes (diff. colors), and 2 pairs of stylish sneakers. The brand happens to fit my narrow foot perfect, looks real sharp, and lasts a long time. They are expensive but worth it for me. I don't plan to buy any more shoes for years... .
Check out Johnston and Murphey! I have a lot of boots from them and I love them all. I got my first pair shoes of Allen Edmonds. Hope to get more in the future!
Best shoes I have ever owned. Several pairs in different styles. Have two pairs of Park Avenues for court and alternated them daily for years. Both have been re soled and still look great and are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. Every trial I have ever won or lost has been in a pair of AE shoes. For those of us with size 15 sheet there is no substitute. There are a lot of clothes I can take or leave but I will never give these up. Pair them with Darn Tough socks and not only do you look good but both are American Made. Way to spotlight a great shoe and brand Thomas. Thank you.
Allen Edmond's leather dress shoes feel better the longer (years) I wear them. Resoled many times and they feel like they were made just for my feet. The cost is worth it. Better one Allen Edmond's resoled than 3, 4, or 5 shoes that cannot be recrafted (resoled), cheaper quality, and less expensive brand.
They say that one should alternate their dress shoes every day, but Allen Edmonds are designed so that you can wear them every day just like A work boot, hence the 360 welt and extreme durability.
I replaced my worn-out Bostonian, Johnston & Murphy, and LL Bean shoes with Allen Edmonds exclusively over the past year due to their American-made quality and conservative old-school style. I am more than happy with my purchases. Before buying a pair, I suggest visiting one of their stores and asking to be properly fitted by one of their salespeople with the Brannock measuring device. I initially made this error (purchased online), but luckily, I had a store within 45 minutes of my home. Allen Edmonds's sizes run slightly larger than I was used to with other shoe manufacturers. I like Allen Edmonds and they are very professional regarding customer service and stand by their product.
Allen Edmonds are so worth the cost because they last. For me, most other brands lasted 12-18 months. Use cedar shoe trees after wearing them and the will look like new for years. I plan to use their reconstruction service when the time comes.
Definitely worth it. Alden boots too, but, you have to know your size and width depending on the last. There are great deals for lightly worn AE on eBay and Poshmark.
I bought my first and only AE almost 20 years ago. Great shoe, and I got them for half price because my son worked at a shoe store. I bought two pair of Ace Marks, and found them to be comparable, and bought a Florsheim Imperial, the top line shoe they make, and find that comparable also
The one thing I insist on for a $400 shoe is that it be available in different sizes. Not just a full range of lengths, but a full range of *widths* as well. Offering only a D and EE width is like selling your shoes in sizes 9 and 12 only. Allen Edmonds sells a $400 shoe for $400. No other manufacturer even comes close.
I got my first AE shoes in 1996. They were refurbished twice, and I finally threw them away 3 years ago. 20 years? I bought a new pair without a thought.
Between boots and shoes I own 18 pairs of Allen Edmonds. About the only brand I can find that comes in a wide width. For me they are wearable and comfortable right out of the box.
I own about 4 pairs of Allen Edmonds. I have had all of them for over 5 years and all are aging very well. I intend on keeping them in good condition forever. My strands are my oldest pair and ready for a new sole, but the upper still looks great.
Are they as comfortable as Bruno Maglis or Gucci? Those are the only main line shoes I tried that I could wear all day and didn’t even need to brake in
I say if you’re going to invest in a pair of Allen Edmonds, stick to their models with minimal broguing (Park or Fifth Avenue models). I have come across many pairs of their Strand model; many of them had issues with the stitching. Broken in some spots, going into the holes of the broguing, and even straying off the edge of the panel it’s supposed to hold in place.
I am a true believer in AE factory seconds. I have about a dozen AE's right now of all styles & colors, all factory seconds. I guarantee if you spend the time to wax and polish them up with a higher end wax/polish products like Saphir, you will have gotten yourself a pair of AEs at a good price.
Well I mean Allen Edmonds are built to last. I mean certain Jordans can run you over 300 and won’t last nowhere near as long as a pair of Allen Wdminds that will last years and years Hahaha I love how Antonio always pops in on these short videos to promote something. Salute brother
I refuse to pay those kind of prices for sneakers and stay away from overpriced designer labels and stick with regular Nike Air Maxx sneakers that are much more affordable.
All I wear is Allen Edmonds. Love the brand. Love the quality. In my channel all I do is find ahoe shine spots in NYC to shine them. I could talk about it all day.
Perhaps a visit to the factory? RMRS and Allen Edmonds are in the same State. Look at the factory store, invite them to discuss their factory seconds etc.
I have eleven pairs of AE shoes, dress and casual. A couple of those pairs are coming up at twenty years old and have been recrafted three times. My one beef with AE is that they are certainly built for the long haul but fail to stock any adequate laces, especially those styles that have some unique design. It wouldn't kill them to have a "lace bank" of which replacements can be drawn from or standardize on a fixed number of laces that transcend most shoes.
Well, I believe I have 44 pairs of A-E shoes. I think my stepson has nine or ten pairs that I bought him. However, nearly all the A-Es I bought were either on sale, seconds and/or closeouts. You could get fantastic bargains on closeout seconds. Some I got for as little as $79 although most sold for $129 a pair. However, I got nearly all my A-Es between the years 2004 and 2008, so I can't comment on the present situation. Unless my feet become deformed in extreme old age, I think I am set for life when it comes to good shoes.
I grew up in Belgium, WI and still remember the frigid date in January that their original plant in Belgium, just north of Port Washington, burned down. I have over a dozen pair and if you take care of them they can last forever.
Hey you forgot to mention the quality of the shoes fell drastically when it was bought by a firm for 255 million so it can cut cost. The shoes you say you’ve had happen to be just shy of that time so you’re basically getting away with telling people they’re good when in reality you’re not doing due diligence.
Hello Antonio! Great video! Just wanted to know you had created a video in 2017 Title - 10 Dress Shoes Ranked (Formal To Casual)) Need an updatte on that...plus you never mention the shoe toe shape like round or sqaure or pointed..please do updated video for 2022
I bought 2 pair of Allen Edmonds (Strand and Park Avenue) and was fitted in store. I have natural shaped feet and toes, from going barefoot whenever I'm home and consciously buying anatomically shaped shoes whenever possible. So typical pointy dress shoes don't usually work for me. The salesman assured me their shoes would become more comfortable with wear, but they never did. I even took them to be stretched and that didn't help. They were pure torture every time I wore them, so I gave away both pairs. If you've been deforming your feet with unnaturally shaped, pointy shoes your entire life, then Allen Edmonds may work for you. They're definitely good looking and durable.
@@petrl9838 Yes. I bought a pair made by Birchbury, called "Brenston" in dark brown. I've worn them a few times to events and work and no one has seemed to notice that they aren't a typical dress shoe. My feet can definitely tell the difference though. They are very comfortable.
These days $395 isn't too much for quality made in the USA dress shoes especially when you have the Alden 405 work boots going for over $600. I've never liked those extremely long European style shoes, they remind me of a court jester clown shoes. I prefer to keep it shorter and simpler and not to focus on clown shoes.
I can’t agree with this review after having owned four pairs of AEs. I’ve found them to be generally stiff and uncomfortable. And the quality is not what everyone claims. Two of the shoes ended up with structural problems after very modest wear. One I paid for their recrafting service to fix, but honestly, I’m not going to even bother with the second pair. The shoes are uncomfortable and why am I going to pay $150 to have them fixed when I’m not happy with them?
3:00 is incredibly misleading to non-critical thinkers. you're not geting 20-30 year out of the $400 shoes, but rather from the $400 shoes PLUS few hundred in services.
They’re not anymore. Allen Edmonds has been selling out more and more after each corporate acquisition and I’ve had to return the last three different kinds of pairs I bought from them due to defects (not just cosmetic but some unwearable); they’ve lost me as a customer. They’ve raised their prices on shoddy work, stopped making EE widths which I need and they’re also not exclusively made in the USA anymore which for many was the appeal of the brand. They’ve also started introducing ugly modern styles and doing away with beautiful classic old ones. They also recently got rid of their separate Shoe Bank website for purchasing factory seconds (by phone order) and put just a minor selection from there on the main AE website; ordering by phone was great because often the seconds came from a non-warehouse store and you could call them and they could tell you exactly what was visually wrong the shoe, saving you a $25 restocking fee but now that it’s all online you can’t. I’m glad I own my old pair but new pair are just not worth it.
I can't understand why there aren't any manufacturers making dress shoes with the comfort level of a pair of leather sneakers, or a pair of leather dance shoes. I can buy a pair of leather sneakers for around $50, pull them out of the box, and go for a long hike without getting any blisters. I can pull $100 leather dance shoes out of the box, go dancing all night, and not have any problems. In contrast, I can pull a $300 dress shoe / dress boot out of the box, break it in for 100+ hours, and still be unable to walk 2 miles without getting blisters. The sneakers and dance shoes will need to be replaced after several years, but that's a good investment to get comfortable shoes. If it hurts my foot to wear a dress shoe or dress boot, then I *don't want* it to last for 10 years or more. I realize that I have more problems with fit than most people (unusually narrow heels). But somehow there are large categories of shoes that I can wear comfortably. And I can't understand why there are *no* dress shoes that have managed to match that level of comfort.
Wolf & Shepherd did when they started, combining sneaker technology with dress shoes and boots. You could even resole through them. For some reason they stopped and just started mainly making ugly dress shoes with sneaker soles, but a few years ago they were making traditional-looking dress shoes, chelseas, chukkas, loafers, etc.
Probably within the last couple years. I lost track about 10 or so years ago when he only had a regular website before RUclips and watched his videos there.
