You’re a great motivator for me to get on my MPC daily. I started making music years ago on a Technics KN1200 keyboard. Then to a Korg Triton, and on to Reason and Ableton. I bought my first MPC after all these years and there’s just something magical about it. Thanks for sharing your experience and talent with us. Respect.
Thanks for sharing your musical journey. Each of those pieces is more than capable for composition, but you're right -- there's something special about the feel of MPCs. Especially paired with something like a Triton or a strong DAW.
Very nice man, as a 3K owner myself I really appreciate all the workflow content you do, it's really great to hear and can kick start our creative juices on this side of the computer so thank you man.
Love what you’re saying about practice. I’ve been doing daily beat videos for 633 days and I’ve definitely seen improvement. It also allows me to use the GAZILLION plugins and sample packs I’ve bought and purchased, have way more material to choose from and stay sharp. It started with 30 day beat challenge that tuned into 100 that turned into #365beatchallenge to turned into #beataday. you just made such a tasteful Q-Tip style Amplified/Renaissance era beat in under 4 minutes 😭. What an inspiration for me to pick up and practice the Maschine that I just re-purchased recently. Thank you for the video and looking forward to diving more into your catalogue!
I really like your approach to beat making as you've demonstrated in this video, and I find it very inspiring. With that said, I really like the vibe of the beat you put together here. WOW, this definitely takes me back to the music I was hearing when I was growing up around '93-'94. Also, that MPC3000, which is from that era, has the sound of that era as well. The beats back then had that jazzy feel to them as well as the obscure samples and boom bap drum pattern. Nice work. Keep it up!
Thanks. I grew up in the same era, so my beats always have that nostalgic vibe, even though I try to keep it modern and interesting. I appreciate the comment and for taking the time to listen.

I've watched how session musicians operate and it's amazing how dedicated they are to their craft, to adapting to different styles of music, and being ready for assignment thrown at them.
This reminds me of some of the Pharcyde beats. A lot of them sound like it’s from the same program. A different spin on each & it’s new, but they belong together it sounds like.

That's an interesting interpretation. Looking back, I value the experience playing as a small piece of a much larger orchestra, but I also remember never having freedom to play, explore or really stray from what was written on the page. I guess that's why I love weird experimental beats.
To get rid of the hiss use the free daw Audacity's noise reduction effect, take a 5-15 second sound snippet of the clamor and it should reduce and even remove the irritable background noise completely.

Good point. Sampling is a separate, (time consuming) activity. In this case, I loaded a program that I had already sampled and chopped. All I had to do was explore and play with new sequences. It feels like cheating because I can get right to work with sounds already prepped for me.

I keep forgetting to hit like and just cruise to ya next vid
lol. Appreciate you homie.
I would too if I had that beautiful MPC
ha. I practiced daily when I had my busted up old one, too.
@@eddieleonard6925 no doubt! That 3000 is a work of art tho, like a fine instrument. Gotta have the wood cheeks too or it’s not studio quality😁 I’m kidding but it does enhance the experience, I made wood side cheeks for my SSL Six. Is the black panel and wood on the 3000 custom or was that a special edition?
@@sooperheep custom refurbish. hows that ssl six? always been curious about that piece.
@@eddieleonard6925 it’s awesome for what you can get them used for, the compression sounds great. Mines unused right now as I have my MPC One going into the Tascam 12 over USB. Need to figure out how to integrate the SSL. Could you SCSI the 3000 to the SSL?
That beat is nasty.
Thanks. Glad you dig it.
Do you quantize or just lock into the sample...
I do not use quantize.
Are you still playing upright bass? Do you use it in your beats?
I know how to play, but I don't have an upright anymore. they EXPENSIVE! :)
Practice practice practice .. I agree .. this new 3.0 thing looks dope but I got more learning to do with the current version 😂😂😂Salute and thanks as always
haha....I'm sure 3.0's cool and will lead to new types of sounds and compositions. Time will tell. But it's already a great workflow. Cheers,
You still messin' around with that SU700?
sadly, that was stolen. but working on restoring a fixer-upper that needs some mods and repairs.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Much respect.
More hiss, bro!
Great video, Eddie.
lol!! hiss for life! I'm never cleaning up my signal flow. hehe.
getem
big fan. salute.
The mic buzz sounds like a ground loop.
Yea, I need to fix that, i'm just too preoccupied with beats. Thanks.
Yo you got the darth vader MPC 3000, That’s D⚫️PE
Respect.
Love it
Appreciate you listening. :)
Although the hiss can get annoying, it reminds me of home.
lol...it's annoying to me, too. I just don't have the time to fix it at the moment. I'd rather make grooves. Thanks for listening
@@eddieleonard6925 nah thank you dude
Really cool mane
Thanks. Glad you dig it.
just followed your Soundcloud (I am Rapides) (y)
Thanks for the support. I have a new tape coming on bandcamp soon.
your ears are so accurate...so your fingering :)
I practice a lot. Still learning. Thanks for watching.
Turn down you're gain, get a preamp.
Glad this motivated. Go out there and make some art.
