Root Notes, Octaves, 5ths and Scales. That’s my way to do Basslines. Everything after that is rhythm. Once my drums and chords are laid I usually do Basslines and then leads and ear candy.
@@BigHomieFilms Yaahn just explained it. He showed you root notes, he showed you octaves, he showed you 5ths. Learn scales. If your key is C major or A minor then all the white keys are potential bass notes. Rhythm is in you. After the drums are laid. Then feel the groove and play the bass notes rhythmically.
Is that right? Sounds like how shits usually done. Bass and drum tracks first. Guitar, overdubs… vocals. all the same process. But hey!!! You’re learning!!!
Full sail was a complete waste of money classes felt rushed and most of it was just stuff u could of watched on youtube and learned i think full sail may be better for things like video game, animation, etc but in my opinion u don't really need it for music production
As a bassist, I start most of my production with the bass line. When you learn how to lock in with drummer/kick…. 😩. Bass is the foundation of what every other instrument sits on. Now when it come to chill hop vibes …man….it’s so much you can do with a bass line, especially coming from a church background 😅 IYKYK
@@jjbing3 yessir, sometimes. Playing Bass all the time, I usually come up with bass lines and then build drums around(making sure the kick and bass are 🔐). I also come up with melodies, chords progression, etc using my bass. I just transfer melodies, chords, and other ideas over to the keys and other instruments in my arrangement 🎸🎻 🎷 🎺. People have no idea how important Bass is in music. They think 808 is all it is to it, but it’s much more bigger than that.
This groove is incredible. I’m not really a rapper but this was so inspiring that I instantly had a melody/flow come to mind and was actually a little shocked. It was a love song type flow, talking about a special Lady. You’re amazing, my Man!
Bro, I’m enjoying the production process so much more watching your videos. I ain’t where I wanna be but I’m having fun and that’s half the battle for me 🙏🏾 can’t wait to start that master class 😫
😮Yoh bru nice stuff I hv been struggling with baselines but after this nomore struggles no RUclips video makes it easier like this 1 stay blessed by the most high
YO! This might be my first ever RUclips comment, but I’ve been looking for instruction like this for bass lines for YEARS. Thank you, brother. Thank you so much!! Instant subscribe!!
Them drums and keys hit for me. But the bass sound is nice too. I'm a musician and 🎸 is my instrument. This was fun and got me thinking deeply about what happening when we play. I think I'll put your class on my list. 🫡💪🏾🙌🏾
Great video bro! Just another example of why learning your SCALES in all keys, major and minor will help you create your basslines. Practice, then execute. The rhythm is super important too.
Nice and clear breakdown. Really good presentation. Do you have a church/gospel background? You must haha. I play a lot of jazz/gospel/r&b and that's been my main foundation. I started studying Bach/Chopin this year and one of the main things that's helped with for me is bass lines that really mesh with the voice leading and melody, just in a slightly different way than I've been accustomed to think about it. It's actually closer to a lot of the gospel movements than jazz, especially with the inversions being used for passing chords. Anyway, keep it up man you're killin it.
Keep it relatively simple at first and don't try to overburden yourself. Once you start from that point it may start to become easier. I have trouble with basslines but sometimes just cheat and play around with octave basslines with some extra stuff thrown in.
I think time feel is another thing that kind of gets lost when making basslines. There's a pocket and often times sitting behind the beat can make your bassline have a little more sauce.
Sounds like diced pineapple 🍍. From Rick Ross. I would really like to learn how to play piano 🎹 like that. Very cool. Please teach me. Let me know how to get in touch with you. Thank you.🙏. Do you teach how to read and write ✍️ music 🎶 notes?
I don't think about it I just play and muscle memory kicks in pretty fast, half the time I don't have a clue what notes or chords I'm playing, if it sounds good, it sounds good.
Hi Bro i love so much your you tube channel and i can't wait to have the money to purchase your Master class wich i saw the trailer and it seems awesome! Can you tell me the name of your program wich shows the notes on the piano score in the same time you play on the keyboard. Thanks in advance God bless you! Swane.
The Masterclass price is actually lower than it really should be to be honest. If it doesn’t work for you, that’s completely fine! However, it’s for those who are willing to invest in their craft 😮💨🙏🏾

That bassline is DIS - GUS - TING! I cant get it out of my head.
