Thank God that phone umbrella exists! I was getting so tired of covering my phone in sunscreen so it wouldn't get sunburn.
it’s so annoying when i have to reapply sunscreen to my phone every 2 hours 😓
OMGGGG 💀💀💀💀
😂😂😂😂
I walk dogs and I use mine 💀 it makes it so there’s no glare and my phone doesn’t overhead as quickly
It's annoying yes but life saving, my Samsung got diagnosed with melanoma 😢
Beige products??? How boring! Summer is bright and colorful!
For real, beige is horribly boring. I’m goth and I hate this crap lol
Agreed! Sooooo tired of neutrals 🥱
@@iamjackspyramidshapedhelmetsame
I just can't stop thinking about losing your spot in the sand 😅
26:44 I find it absolutely crazy that the average of wearing an item is 7 times before it’s thrown away. I have some clothes, even from fast fashion stores, that I still wear after 10 years of buying, which makes the count at least 200 times. People might blame it to “fast fashion clothes don’t last”, when in fact it is more about the trends, or about buying something you are not even sure you like. What a waste!
I have a plain grey shirt from the brand "Champion" I stole from my older brother when he moved out when I was 16, and I'm 34 now and it's still just a nice as when I took it, and I use it often as a nice simple shirt. I have no idea how many times it's gone through the laundry, but it has yet to fall apart. It's probably the double seam stitching, but it astounds me that quality of items can range greatly. 👀
I completely agree with you - I wear my clothes for years and years, until they are unable to worn, even as a sleep shirt or workout shirt. Then they become floor mopping rags haha. I don't buy into trends, buy/thrift only what I need, and take care of what I have (not putting everything in the dryer, mending and repairing, etc) and it is amazing how few new clothes I need to buy. I may not be trendy, but I am doing my part avoid clothing waste!
I have some t shirts from Target that I have had for 8 years and wear a LOT. I line dry them and I think that has Mae the difference in their long lifetime. They are Mossimo brand.
For sure, I totally support the stop buying fast fashion people but a very realistic answer to reducing our consumption is not necessarily to stop fast fashion all together but to minimize the purchases. Times are tough and not everyone can buy a $300 pair of jeans but you need new jeans… what… once a year maybe? I for sure have Forever 21 clothes that are going on 15 years and are just fine, it’s the micro trends and shopping for boredom that create the huge amount of waste.
Fr i got a Star Wars shirt at h&m when i was 17, I’m 32 now and still wear it regularly . It’s starting to form smaller holes now from washing but i love it so much
bottle in a pouch in a bag in a cooler bag in a bag in a tote in a car-bag in a big. very easy to carry all your bags of bags

My summer must have is money to pay my electric bill with this AC RUNNING
I just want to let you know that you're making a difference. I just got back from shopping for a camping trip with friends, and your idea of considering whether a product will be in my life long-term was very helpful. It stopped me from picking up a few "camping accessories" that would have been fun for this trip, but in all reality, I would have just brought them home and they would have sat in a closet until I decluttered them someday. Great advice! 😊
I'm so happy to hear this!
@@shawnaripariA goddess walks among us
Wait what…. I thought the bag would be like $20-$30 that’s crazyy. It looks like you repurposed a pair of crocs as a bag.
I was expecting around $60 given that the simple human one that I mentioned last month is around that price. I was so shocked to see it at $90 USD. Prices for Canada started at around $125. I could not imagine spending $125 for rubber (personally)
I just saw some at my local warehouse club store and $40 was too much! Like wuuuuttt
@@shawnariparil got my off brand one for $40 and l will admit I love it at the beach because sand doesn’t cling to it. Also one time my sunscreen leaked and ruined a bag and l know this won’t happen with this one lol. However unlike most l will probably keep this bag FOREVER because it is very durable compared to my past ones so l guess the price for me was justifiable for me though who will use it until it’s unusable.
Home Goods had a bunch of them. Didn’t check the price though. A beach bag is no way a necessity for me here in Mn. 😂
@@shawnariparimy mom got one from a thrift for 5$
Our family uses a big blue IKEA bag for the beach. Works great
Classic
lesbereal IKEA never disappoints
That bag is like Barbie. It’s not enough to buy the doll, you have to get allllll the accessories and what not too! You need to have the full bag experience you see. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Money pit is the perfect description.
a great example of all the add-ons!
right...theres this thing called a tote bag....
😂 my first thought about that bag is how long would it take my dog 🐕 to chew up one of the straps, I don’t have a dog that chews but that picture came to me and made me laugh at how long it would take before that bag was worthless as straps will give out or pop off 😮🎉😂
That's hilarious 😂
@shawnaripari It's a trap! :-D
Sometimes accessories work well and sometimes they don't. What if sand gets into that phone holder or the next phone is too big or much smaller?
Over the years I gathered different phone bags for my bike and it's not only that some work better than others, also size and design of phones change over time.
Why's everything so beige in that first tiktok? Summer is for fun, bright colors. That tiktok color palette made me depressed lol
Yes! It’s so sad looking 😂
fucking oatmeal core
oatmeal is good but ever had plain oatmeal? its absolutely depressive
fr imagine being her child. also her whole house probs looks like that.
Your whole "you don't need x in another color" saved me from buying a black beanie when I already have the exact same one in red
My first instinct on the rubber croc beach bag was ew ugly but then I’ve seen it so many times that now I feel like being slowly brainwashed to think it’s cute 😂
THIS HAPPENS!!! 3-4 months ago I thought the stanley was ugly and after seeing SO much of the stanley I'm a bit like... damn I really like this.
@@shawnaripari I was the same way with the Stanley. Especially bc the water spills out so easy it’s incredibly impractical for me. I just moved too so the urge to buy more things after I just decluttered is really hitting hard. 😂😭
SAME!! 😂😂
I love your content - my daughter had a baby in April, her first. She was fed loads of TikTok on packing your bag for hospital- essentially selling stuff like packing cubes, bags, drink holders etc. we laughed as we watched them because I’ve been thru labour 3 times and agreed that the very last thing on your mind is how cute and organised your bag is. She did pack a bag with the essentials that the hospital recommended and hardly opened the bag for herself - she had a section Thursday morning was out Friday and I can tell you that apart from babies stuff most of the packing came back as it went. These sales videos are aimed at a demographic that I truly hope grow out of this phase quickly before they are broke or hoarders.
The way advertisers (including influencers) have twisted the idea of "needs" these days is truly wild. Lately I've been keeping track of how often I see the word "need" used in ads and it's out of control. A large amount of them actually say "you NEED this". And when they do this, it's never something anyone ever actually needs (and not necessarily something people will even want). I think it's really seeped into some people's brains. I have nothing against people wanting or buying something they don't really need, but let's be honest about it...and let's not let others convince us that we want something that we wouldn't have thought twice about if we weren't being influenced.
i think i first saw this in a video.. who needs a portable thermo printer in their bag at all times? what situation can you be in you need that this day and age???
a freaking portable thermo printer made me realise how almost everything is an add these days.
Yep - food, clean air, water and shelter are needs.
Also the word obsessed... everyone is OBSESSED with everything... 😏
Whenever I travel, I only keep the bare essentials in my wallet (money for the day, paper copy of passport, a credit card).
Passport holders are great for centralizing not only where your passport is, but keeping organized additional currency, back-up cards or insurance cards, shot records, sim cards, etc. Things that you don't want to keep on you when you're out and about, or can get lost in your bag.
Absolutely not necessary, but I travel frequently, so that little bit of organization gives me peace of mind.
Anything that helps one to organize important documents and keep them safe is truly worth it. I have an extra wallet at home where I store most of my stuff, my partner prefers a storage box/folder.
The passport holder I have and used while traveling through Scotland also worked as a wallet. There’s an area for change and paper money, an area for documentation and your passport. It definitely made traveling easier. I also stayed in a hostel and felt more comfortable having it with me.
Yeah a passport holder basically replaces a wallet for the trip because it’s smart to carry your passport with you jic and you need money lol.
Yes, I had an RFID-blocking wallet on a strap that I wore as a cross-body bag under my jacket almost all the time while walking around European cities. It was very handy. My passport was easily retrieved from a slot inside the "wallet", but some of these "holders" advertised have a snug fit similarly to a phone case, which can make hard for you to retrieve and put back in a hurry!
Personally if I have to take my passport out with me . I don't like keeping it the same place as my money just incase it gets lost or stolen .
Yep same here. Take the money and leave me my passport @@megamusicmessenger
Excuse you, I cannot count the times that I miss shaving a spot on my leg and am chased away from the beach by a crowd carrying torches and pitchforks because of my terrible offense.
Can’t wait to see Stanleys and Bogg bags on the clearance shelf at TJ Maxx in about a year. $90 for that rubber mess, unbelievable.
33:01 some countries require you to have an id document with you at all times if you happen to be approached by local authorities, and actually keeping your passport or id card with you everywhere while you’re traveling is quite common here in Europe at least!
But definitely not in that magnet backpack, no, that’s pickpoketer’s heaven
Yes, but it's also almost always acceptable to have a photocopy printed to keep on you, and you can ask them to accompany you to your hotel or train locker to see the real one, if needed.
Most countries advise that you put your passport in a safe in your hotel. DO NOT carry about your passport in Europe. Take a photo of it on your phone if you are ever stopped by authorities. You are not and should not have to carry your passport anywhere with you - it is a super valuable documents and thief’s want passports. Having your passport stolen is a nightmare and once it is stolen your whole identity can be stolen too. This feeds into human trafficking. Lock your passport up and or leave it at home.
@@giatasha2181 but it seems like in korea you need your passport with you at stores to get the discount they offer. idk if a photocopy suffices
Buying a phone umbrella is one of the signs that you’re on your phone too much.
That cooler side table makes no sense to me because if you’re using it as a table and putting drinks and things on top of it, you can’t open it to get more drinks out 🤔
Now I’m to the “Amazon sets…”
These sets used to be the wardrobe trophy that was unlocked when you achieved senior citizen status!?!?!?
Yes the linen sets literally look like stuff my elderly patients would wear. It gives Alfred Dunner lol
😂😂😂 I told my husband years ago that I’ll know I’ve arrived as an elderly woman when I can just buy a matching top and bottom and wear it to shlep about my day sipping coffee!
it’s giving scrubs 😭 they do look comfortable tho
@@ghostmain3382Alfred Dunner. Lol.
And they only look decent on super skinny people; otherwise you do like a senior citizen rocking the cruise wear. 😂
As someone who was participated in overconsumption, these videos are really helpful! I will say, I obviously haven’t bought as many things as these people but I have gotten unnecessary things that I thought would make my life easier somehow. Now, most of those things are just stored somewhere in my room. The main consequence of this is having no room for things and having constant clutter because the things that I own don’t have their own space
Facebook marketplace!
I asked for a bogg bag as my Mother’s Day gift two years ago and since then, I have used that bag almost every day during the summer for going swimming or days at the creek. That being said, I have not spent another dime for extra attachments as the bag comes with two little insert bags that you can use for sunscreen or to hold your phone or keys. It’s a bag. It can hold your cup or drink without having a $20 attachment 😆
So glad to see your channel growing!! Your content is intelligent, thoughtful and witty and I love your take on hyper consumption and the excess of influencers. You make me feel normal about my “you’re buying WHAT?!” sentiment
There are actually a lot of places where you should keep your passport on you. When I was in Ghana and Kenya, it's very recommended in case you get stopped by the police. But I just keep it in the little zippered pocket in my purse in an RFID protective sleeve.
I live in Hawaii so especially this summer I go to the beach a lot. I have a billion tote bags from local businesses, and if they get dirty I just...wash and air dry them? I can think of very very few situations where those bogg bags would be a smart purchase...
Lol, bog is a Scottish word for toilet. I won't be tempted to put my drinks or sandwiches in a bog.😂
Beige!!! Stanley has a cooler!?! Here is how dumb I am... I watch a lot of travel videos. I travel 4 times a year. Shawna, I bought a luggage scale. I've never had a use for one, but I saw it so much I thought I was doing something wrong not having one. 😐🤦♀️😐
I got one of those, too! And while I took 9 different flights on my month-long UK/Europe excursion, not once was I asked to weigh my bag 🤣
@@beejereeno2 I'm laughing with you!
@@paisleyhunter in my experience, a travel scale is amazing to gauge if your carry-on will make it through, which saves you a hefty additional fee or repacking in the airport. I was asked to present my backpack/shove it into one of the boxy containers for size evaluation multiple times and my main luggage has always been weighed so far. If you do not have a scale at home/the accommodation you're staying at and you want to know how much your luggage weighs before you get to the airport, it's a great help. Of course, if you have no use for it, you could consider lending it or giving it away to someone you know. I bet some people in your family/friend group/neighbourhood travel. 😉
the beige pool floaty 🤢 so weird. looks like they put a greyscale filter over that photo
amazon must have videos tend to try to sell you things that you probaboy already have a verison ot. ive seen drink mixers be considered an essential but i just use my chopsticks or a spoon//knife
I use my big canvas bags as a summer bag. They can get wet just fine, wash really well in a regular wash cycle if they get dirty. The summer necessities are much more sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen etc) and for the beach a pair of good swimmers and a towel and whatever bag fits the towel!
Holy Floating Pasta Monster, the first video looks like it was put through a sepia filter, it's so beige!
😅 watch some "beige mom content" I almost fell back into depression by the lack of colors 🙈
appreciate your commentary about these topics so much
I love the little glitch when you were dumbfounded by the four coolers. I felt that fr
😂😂 I'm like wait a second... four?!
I would never travel with that mini backpack because it’s so easy to pickpocket without you even noticing!
I will say, the ugly croc bags are really great for the pool 😂 not worth $90 though. Someone got me a knockoff for my birthday last year and they are very helpful when you have toddlers/small kids that get everything wet all the time. However the rigidity of the foam does make it difficult to stuff a lot of stuff in there.
These deinfluencing videos are so important in the current overconsumption shopping climate!
I found so many of your tips and mindset helpful and I'm so glad to have found your channel! 🎉 your videos are super insightful and really gives a different perspective on the rapid consumerism on social media ^^
Thank you for the work you do, you've definitely saved many people from impulsive purchases (me included) and given them a healthier mindset in terms of consumption!
thank you so much and I'm glad you've found my content to be helpful 💕
Your perspective is SO refreshing! I love how you point out that really you can only use that razor gadget until the blade dulls.
Absolute essentials are really just what we need to survive: food, clothing, shelter- past that is luxury!
The 2 in 1 cooler as "the best thing for hosting" triggered me! When something is the "best" or "most comfortable"...it's just like- no.. you'd have to have all knowledge of all comfortable things to be able to make that sort of statement. Maybe I'm just being too literal but the over-exaggerating seems to be part of the way our culture speaks.
I'm watching the video but I already know I won't be tempted to buy any "summer must haves" because I don't see the point. I'm trying to survive hot weather and allergy season so I won't be outside that much. The only thing I'm considering is anti-uv clothing that I can combine with my summer clothes to protect me from the sun 🤷♀️
@21:16 I have skin cancer and I agree with everything you said. Tan is sun damage. And you won't get protected once you get one (or worse a sunburn). Not saying that you shouldn't get outside but you should protect yourself by using SPF especially if you know you'll be outside at peak hours.
SPF long sleeve shirts are 100% worth the money. They make outdoor yardwork so much more pleasant, even if it's the ride around on a tractor variety.
My “must haves” are deodorant, sunscreen, something for my chafing and allergy meds😅😂 maybe also my sunglasses and a hat because I burn like crazy on my face even when I reapply sunscreen every 30 minutes😂 redhead genes are something else
So I do carry my passport around everywhere in my bag when I am overseas just in case I get stopped for any reason it's important that I have some sort of ID on me. Other countries are not going to reallly care about my state driver's license 😅. I also tend to go to middle Eastern countries, do maybe that is impacting my preference 🤷♀️. I do think having some sort of cover for your passport is nice if you are using it a lot so that it doesn't get tattered but ultimately single purpose passport holder that you only use during travel is not actually essential
I see Shawna posted, I directly click 💅🏼
😃😃😃😃😃😃
11:35 yes a beige and light pink aesthetic is perfect to take to the beach IoI. that sand girly vibe. just don't leave your spot or you won't be able to find it IoI. maybe the white will stand out a bit? I bet there's also some cool tone swimsuits to go with it for ocean swimming. your bright red towel for the win! I still use the same colorful flower beach towel I have had for years. my siblings and I each got one for Christmas and we just use those.
How are they going to find all those sand beige beach items on a sandy beach lol
for sand at the beach, just bring a paint brush. my family has been doing this for decades. and for jellyfish stings, meat tenderizer. for stingray cuts, yellow mustard. all stuff we already have that works perfectly at the beach. costs no money, takes up no extra space, and is usable before and after the trip
ive seen tiktoks where its just screenshots of the products on amazon… its getting so lazy and tired i have no words
Okay. Beige barf. I have 11, yes, ELEVEN kids and I don’t even need all of those stinking coolers!!! 😆🙄
Beige barf loll
That floatie and the towel looked so depressing. Also, how do you find it in the sand lmaooooooo
SO sad. And you make valid points. 😂😂 And I’m over influencers telling everyone how “cute” beige things are.
We need your videos educating us on what a family REALLY needs.
I absolutely love the way you say “bag”! We moved to Canada in 2020 and it has been so wonderful. Also fully support not putting kids online, I’ve got a 4 yo and 7 yo and they have no online presence for obvious reasons
International traveler here: the only thing a passport holder does is alert a thief to where your passport is. You can buy RFID blocking sleeves that are essentially paper that are so much subtler. And that backpack!? You need a backpack that is or that you can make pickpocket proof. That magnetic closure!? That’s an invitation.
I only recently started watching you but I feel like the way I think about purchasing things has really started to change. I don’t fall for these kinds of trendy things and most of them aren’t even my style anyways or aren’t things I care about but I do buy a lot of other stuff. I would take impromptu trips to target if I had a rough day at work to ‘feel better’ and I would go overboard. I haven’t done that for several weeks now. I have multiple shops online that I have long wishlists. And even though I haven’t bought said stuff yet, I trimmed down those wishlists extremely. I really tried to think critically of ‘would I really use this, do I even really want it that bad, does it fit a need?’ And often it was no to all three questions. I often wishlist things because they’re cute or cool and I like the idea. But I don’t need to buy just because of that.
So thank you for changing the way I think about things :) I have only bought what I actually needed and I can’t even remember that last time I bought something that wasn’t necessarily
this is amazing! I'm glad you're enjoying my content and have found it helpful 💕
The endless quick editing of these TickTocks is so mindless ~ like the goal is just to smash people with products like waves of the ocean 🌊🌊🌊🌊. It triggers stress in me, it really does! I like looking at products sometimes, but I can't enjoy this style! ~ 🧘🏻♀️
By the way, my bag is made out of cloth, bought it three years ago, and I still love it. Just throw it in the washer after a long day at the beach or wherever you go!
The passport holder is a status symbol at the airport. I used to sort of want one for personalization sake and to protect tbe inside contents, but I'm sure the airport and customs employees do not GAF what brand your passport is being accessorized with. I can see it being useful if you're travelling in a big group though just so people know whose is which.
Just to make it clear, I am not judging anyone who chooses to buy those things. I just grew up in a generation and a family who reuse everything so a little rubbed off on me! I got Barbies at Christmas and my mom made all the little clothes. It was so fun, it is just good to be educated about what all of this does to our psychic and the environment!
Your point about the repetitive advertising is so true. When I first heard a little factoid that said something like "a consumer has to see something up to 60 times before they will decide to buy it" I was like "That can't be true" But then it made me aware that it is true, at least for me. Even if a commercial annoys me, I've noticed that I will in fact start considering a product or service once I've seen the ad enough, even if it's unconsciously. So it makes sense that Amazon would have multiple creators advertising the same product.
Also, these videos might be dangerous for me. Or at least, this one is. I actually don't have anything to efficiently take stuff to the lake, and that lavender beach bag was really calling to me. When you said the price though, it definitely pushed me away thankfully. My random grocery bags to take stuff in will work just fine haha.
i hate that bag so much lol i find it hideous. i can’t believe it’s $90. wtf
I had a vision of how long it would take my dog (who doesn’t chew) to eat thru those straps, cardboard box would work 😂
I just looked on amazon, and depending on what size you get, they can be more expensive, like up to $130!! Wtf!! All that for a summer bag????
I thought that shit was gunna be like $45.....
9:16 i feel like to add on the point of seeing the same items subconsciously creates familiarity which is then associated with trust if multiple people have it… therefore makes the product seem reliable when it is just a PR..
The best thing shown in these ads is the fast drying towel, it's a game changer!
Not only for the beach , they are the best towels for showering too.
They take half the space, weight and even half the price of a regular cotton towel!!
I want to buy a second one but I'm waiting cuz I have enough cotton towels right now.
My summer must have is sunscreen
Great video and made me realize how often we can get sucked in by the wording. Since I started following your channel I have “Shawna” discussions with myself about all my online purchases! Put in cart and wait 24-48 hrs have the discussion and empty the cart 😂. At first I would place the order think about it and cancel, then put in cart wait and delete. Not using cart now as I realize it’s not for me. By watching your videos really helps me to stop 🛑 and think about the item Thanks for educating us on consumerism ❤
I love these videos! Please do another part!
excuse-me why are you talking about my drinking emergency? 😂 😂 this was too funny, finished this part OMG, where you get the ice for your mini cooler???? LOL you are so on point
Those bags are so ugly and tacky I'm sorry not sorry. It looks like crocs made of human skin.
Edit: WHAT THEY'RE $90? Proof that money can't buy taste. You can get such a nice quality bag for that amount.
Everything is so beige! I was hoping the sad beige trend was over by now.
Such a good point about the speciality “gadgets” they’re exciting initially and then once you’re passed that initial hype you never pick it up again.
For the travel razor thing, I’ll say this. I’ve gone out multiple times with unshaved/visible stubble legs, and after a bit you forget. I have medium light skin and dark thick hair, and I promise it’s not as noticeable as you think. People aren’t staring at your legs looking for hair and they aren’t close enough to notice that you haven’t shaved. And if they did, I doubt anyone would want to risk the social awkward exchange of pointing out “hey, your legs aren’t perfectly shaved”. Do I still sometimes feel uncomfortable going out with leg hair? Yes. I’m working on it. But I swear, it really isn’t noticeable from more than 2 feet away.
Edit: a note on passports. Depending on where you travel, you need your passport. In Europe it is the most common form of ID, it’s equivalent to an American drivers license. You need it to go into other countries, to buy alcohol, or if you are stopped by law enforcement for any reason. That being said, don’t really get the passport carrier, I think it’s more like a wallet where you also carry your passport?
I bought a cheap razor in the Dominican Republic and literally took a strip of my own flesh off my leg. I'm still scarred from it. It was kind of horrific, like a scene from Cabin Fever. I'll never buy a cheap razor like that again. Yikes.
my one beach towel is bright red too! and pink haha
Woo woooo!!! Another Shawna videoooooo! I love the length of these videos I just put them on for comfort while I'm cleaning or crocheting (ahh summer boredom)
"This is just random crap" i love you shawna omg :')
I love your videos! I would definitely love a part two. I try to avoid seeing these Amazon influencers by not following any and not engaging but of course they inevitably pop up. I have felt that sense of chaotic urgency to buy something that I really don’t need and for a few months I’ve been digging into content like yours to help me slow down and really think about my purchase habits and not impulse purchasing. So please keep them coming if you can cause I find them really grounding and empowering!
You are helping me SO MUCH!
You know whats funny .. I have watched now several of your videos and now there are suddenly shorts recommended to me, showing me exactly what you show in your videos😅
your takes are so insightful and i’ve found myself quickly falling down the rabbit hole of your videos, really great advice and ideas to keep in mind in my own life
Glad to hear you're enjoying them!
I have a natural tendency to resist popular things: movies, TV shows, fashion trends, product trends. It really helps me avoid impulse purchases and planned obsolescence. When i have a need for something, i will search for hours or days at multiple thrift stores until i find it or decide i don't want or need it anymore.
That doesn't mean everything i buy is ugly or strictly necessary, but if it's cute and unnecessary, it's almost always handmade or second hand.
These videos/ads really annoy me too and you give really good explanations!
I’ve been LOVING your channel
Howdy ! How is life ? I am 56 years of age man here, I do not know if I am welcome here though, because it seems it is for women and girls only here, because I watched many of Your videos, and They are good and make sense, we are not inline politically though, but nonetheless I still watch. Furthermore, I imagine myself wearing that pair of jeans and knowing that I do not own them, I would feel that it would not be my legs wearing those pants, but someone else. Very strange intangibles. Beach products are a source of anxiety to me: carrying them, being alert so nothing gets stolen or lost, feeling like I MUST use them often or else it's a waste... it's too much to let me enjoy the day
The wet bag for swimsuits made me chuckle. We have ones we used to use for cloth diapering both my kids, and i still use them for car related potty issues and swimsuits and such. Its weird that they are selling them as something new and revolutionary.
I bought a clear pouch from Walmart a few weeks ago. It didn’t have any words on it and two zippers. It fits all my everyday things in it. I call it my everything bag. In the front pouch I put fingernail clippers, tweezers, tums, a single dose of DayQuil, Cough Drops, wet wipes, shout wipes, tide pen, acne patches, band aids, hand sanitizer, Tylenol, eye drops, Lactaid, and a Benadryl itch relief stick. In the second pouch I put lotion, sunscreen, chapstick, deodorant, hair ties, snacks, aloe Vera, mints, pens, floss, and a book light.
It’s my favorite thing. It fits right in my backpack for work and my purse when I go out. How much did it cost? Oh $6. I don’t need expensive attachments or cute labeled bags. My single bag holds everything and it cost less than one of those labeled bags.
Your voice is super chill, calming.
This video was great. It really got my thinking about my purchases. Thank you!
Those small air pumps are great for people like me who hike and camp a lot, because blowing up a sleeping pad with your lungs is a quick way to black out, but also takes a lot of time and adds moisture to the inside of the pad which you don’t want.
BUT I’ve replaced mine already, because it’s loud and I feel so self conscious using it when I’m out in remote nature, and because you can get a pump sack which doesn’t need charging and is just a bag with an attachment for the inflation point, with one end open that you let full with air and then squash to force the air into the pad. And then you can use the pump sack to store the pad in.
It would stress me out finding a place to store all this stuff. Where does it all go and stay organized?? I'm anxious thinking about it
The umbrella it really depends on how often you’re outside because I walk dogs and use it all the tiem
Also no you should always have your passport with you just in case because it functions as an id. Also you use the passport holder as a wallet too so it has your cards and stuff in it
If you put some salt in your cooler with ice, it'll chill your drinks so quickly. It's really a great hack
Oh! I'm going to try this!
I’ve also wrapped a wet paper towel around beers in my freezer en they are t cold enough but I want to drink them quick lol
if i want a cold beverage fast, i put a can in a kitchen container (usually my cookie storage container) cover it with ice, and then fill with water. 10-15 and you have an ice cold drink!
I will say for the passport holder, in certain countries people are advised to keep it on you at all times not because you will be asked for it, but because your bag might be stolen. Whether that’s in your hotel room or on a bus. But those holders aren’t super aesthetic because they are meant to be slipped underneath your clothes so it’s also not pickpocketed.
As someone with neurodivergent sensitivities, I hate applying and touching certain things with my hands. I know the sunscreen applicator isn’t necessary, but seeing it as a sensory ick preventer it would get use. Especially for someone who wears sunscreen compulsively. No I’m not buying it, I’m just stating it’s a good idea
I love your videos and I agree with you! Just commenting about the traveling bit: I have a passport holder (which I've had for 11 years) because it has the RFID blocking thing. Also, I actually do bring my passport with me everywhere I go because I've heard too many stories of passports being stolen (well, it's for the purpose of identity theft I guess, not just the passport), including out of those lock boxes in hotels. I'm sure most people aren't as vigilant about keeping their passport with them as I am but I just thought I'd share since it was brought up :)
Wow I love this video🙌🏻💖
I'm so glad your videos exists, if they only ever get ONE person to question their mindless spending then your job is done. You are a treasure! (In my case, you're preaching to the converted, but I still find it fascinating how mindless people are in general these days) x
For the passport holder, it really does depend. If you are going to a country where you have to worry about pick pockets I can see you putting you important cards in it and keeping it hidden ( like hanging around your neck under a shirt or sweater if it's cold). Tho there is probably a better and cheaper option out there than the one shown.
Hopefully, media literacy becomes more common, and ppl will stop falling for buying gadgets one day lol
That “bag of the summer” is just a croc masquerading as a bag. Literally just a croc bag, and doesn’t most of the world find crocs ugly?
Would love to see move videos on this or just in general hahah❤ I love your content
I find your perspective so helpful! I will say for travelling that carrying my passport with me at all times while in my destination feels more secure, but I think that’s personal preference. That bag makes me so angry though lmao
"YOU MISSED THAT SPOT ON YOUR ANKLE.... I CAN SEE IT 👀" like literally I doubt someone will analyze you that closely in public 🤔
