Holding my daughter and sobbing when I realized the majority of Florida citizens wanted to overturn abortion rights but it didn’t pass is a core memory for me now. Her rights and her future are what drive me: please do videos about plastic! And if you can specifically small ways we can make a change. People are more susceptible to change. ❤

American here. Everything is so overwhelming right now that I’ve just stopped engaging in social media and looking at the news altogether. My peace of mind is more important right now.

As an older Canadian woman, none of this is new to me. I've been speaking out against this craziness since I was in my twenties and I'm in my sixties now. I honestly thought we would have this crap dealt with, but it seems we haven't. While I feel badly for the Americans affected by the Cheeto and his Thugs, we have our own fight going on to ensure that the insanity that has infected a certain group of people south of our border does not make a permanent home here. Remember Americans, the world is watching everything that's happening in your country and we are doing our best not to repeat your mistakes. Personally, I am involved with politics/political party, that for me, has the only person who will stand up with us and prevent this shit storm of fascism. Use your voices, write to your MP MPP and other local politicians. It's easy to sit at home and doomscroll. That's what the right-wing wants us to do. By all means, take in the mis-info they're trying to spread but then close these apps and get out here and DO SOMETHING. Canada is an amazing country and we need to do whatever we can to save it. REMEMBER: buy Canadian products (check out all the cool Canadian websites listed in sub-reddit BuyCanadian etc.), work with your local groups with who you share this passion. Speak out against the lies and misinformation perpetuated by right-wing media (if you're Canadian, that's anything owned by PostMedia). Be loud, be aggressive if need be and fight for the best part of North America - Canada. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

Trump did not remove news outlets from the Pentagon. That is misleading. A few news outlets had to vacate their physical space so other news outlets could have their turn as resident members. The vacated news outlets are still members of the Pentagon Press. For far too long, the American people have heard one side of things. What’s wrong with allowing other news outlets the same opportunity? Unqualified cabinet members? Did you look at Biden’s picks and appointments? Does no one remember their incompetence??? Does no one here recall the Biden administration’s cronies ie big banks refusing services conservatives? Has everyone forgotten the Big Brother policing of free speech??! I appreciate this video so much. As an American, living in a red state who voted for the opposite of every single person currently in office representing my area, I've seen a lack of empathy from so many non-Americans saying "You voted for this, what did you expect to happen?" I appreciate the empathy and recognition that we can all make an impact and things are scary and overwhelming for everyone. It’s very inspiring! Lately, I’ve decided to focus my energy on creating content with a mission. Before, I was creating content for my brand about web design, marketing, and branding. But then I ran an experiment. I tried to recall what I remembered from each platform I use (Instagram, TikTok, newsletters, RUclips, etc.). I was shocked to realize that I couldn’t remember any specific videos or texts. And I couldn’t believe I had spent so much time creating content that people don’t even remember. So I decided to create only things that can truly help others. But I struggle with figuring out what can actually be useful. And I worry that I might be wrong or accidentally spread misinformation without realizing it. I want to create content about neurodiversity, slow living, and marketing from a customer perspective-especially by showing elements customers don’t usually see. I’m particularly interested in the psychology behind influencer marketing. Plus, I’d love to talk about anything else I find interesting and meaningful.

thank you so much for this video! i live in Finland, and i would love to see you include the EU perspective to your content. my suggestion would be to reach out to your community members who live in other countries, maybe in the form of interviews or questionnaires, and have us talk about these issues from our perspective through you! whatever you choose to do, i'm all here for it! times are crazy, not just in North America, we are experiencing a rise in the popularity of the far right in my country as well.

I live in Pennsylvania and am limited in what I can do with political action because I work for the State. I didn't know what to do. I don't want Elon Musk and his workers having access to all my SS and tax information. I didn't want transphobia and homophobia to be in the law. I'm concerned we're going down a dictatorship, whether it's the Putin kind or the Hitler kind, and I don't know what I can do to stop it.

I got this video on my recommendations and never clicked faster in my life, FB really tried to push this kind of video for me on that suggested reels feature and it's so annoying I already blocked so many accounts, yet it keeps popping up with fake accounts that are clearly stealing content from these shops you've mentioned ☠ The self defense keychains videos are the worst, there are so many of them that also use an element of rage bait to gather views The rage bait things include the mention of online tips, picking items in the wrong color scheme on purpose, saying they hate x color and so on This was what showed up first on my feed, and I just got fed up with that crap so quickly... And not to mention that those keychains are full of useless and illegal things, they are not effective at all and many self defense creators talked about that Was trying to find posts on FB or Reddit discussing about this kind of overconsuption content, but only found discussion about the crystal scoops and felt this was only happening on my feed 🥲 I feel so relieved rn, knowing that this issue is finally being discussed somewhere Thank you so much for making this video, it's very useful and I hope more ppl will get more cautious about this kind of overconsuption content... This video is excellent. I loved the pacing and how succinct and detailed you are with the explanations, I loved how you watched the videos with us instead of just cutting in five second clips, and how you preface the “chapters” with content markers…. You’ve earned my follow for SURE ‼️🫶

I canceled my Ispy sub because I don't need a new makeup bag every month or endless small pans of eyeshadow. It seemed like every 4-6 months I got a product I actually wanted to try before I bought a full size but it wasn't worth having so many products I'd use 0-2 times to hope I'd get something I want.

Thank you SO MUCH for addressing all of these important issues. I am in the US and it is stressful to see what is happening in our government. But there is hope. We are coming together, encouraging each other, and organizing. It is not going to be easy or quick to protect our rights and bring these greedy evil people to justice but we will prevail. We will not go back.

I always thought of most of it as just content BUT also people genuinely thought people used the stuff they made or showed in their video, that's how they sell stuff. I'm surprised that people think everyone knew it was fake. If everyone knew it was fake then they wouldn't make money, they are selling illusions of reality, so yeah people believed it. Even when I see aesthetic get ready with me videos sometimes I imagine being in that space because they always make it seem so comfortable and nice. It's about selling a reality, that's how you make money. It's sad that so many people fell for it but hopefully people will be more mindful when being sold products or lifestyles by influencers.

Ive been watching most of your videos and finding such insight and understanding behind consumer culture and topics to bring to my local meetups, and I've been brewing on this as well. I think a focus on mending/repairing clothing/skills that can take the 'needs' these businesses tend to out of their hands would also be great topics. Co-op for food, local farmers markets and community resources would also be great topics. Super excited to be in this community as we move through this time!

I’m an American and I wanna express how much I appreciate and respect Canadians and Mexicans. I’m sorry we’re all in this situation. I really cannot believe what’s going on, and how they’re trying to turn the US against our neighbors. Okay I got married last year. I had a small wedding (~65 people) and we thrifted milk jugs from local dairy farms for vases, which ended up being a fun pre-wedding activity. And then we bought 24 food safe mason jars for additional vases and I absolutely regret buying that many. I'm using them for food, but we probably use 4-6 per week, not 20+. 🫠
