About This Video:
If you have seasonal allergies or perennial allergies, over-the-counter eyes drops can help with allergy symptoms a lot. Pataday use to be a prescribed eye drop, Patanol, Pataday, and Pazeo. Now it's over the counter avaiable to anybody. It's very helpful with allergy symptoms. Alaway has been around for a while now, the same as Zaditor. But now it has a preservative-free version that can be very helpful to treat eye allergies and itchy eyes. These are the best allergy eye drops available right now in the year 2021.
#itchyeyes #pataday #alaway - Наука
I just started Pataday today. We recently got a dog. Although allergy pills help with the sneezing and itching, I still get the watery and itchy eyes. So far so good !!! No red or watery eyes
I have used alaway preservative free for a few years now and I absolutely love it. It helps with my severe allergies. I have also used pataday but prefer alaway.
Perfect timing! We are already starting to deal with Spring allergies! Thanks Dr. Eye Guy!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this video! I have both Pataday and the generic version of the other. I believe it's called Olopatadine? I don't think it's preservative-free but good to know they have one out there now that is. ...oops I rewatched the video and you said that was also Pataday. 😊
Have to use Pataday because of a glycerin allergy. Glycerin is in the Bausch and Lomb drops.
Thank you sir
We will definitely be trying these!
I hope you like them!
I not only prescribe but personally prefer the twice per day pataday for eye allergy symptoms. Awesome video!
I'm the same way. I prefer the twice a day drop version as well.
@@DrEyeGuy never was able to get the 24 hour drop to work past maybe 10 hours max
Thanks buddy.
No problem 👍 thanks for watching!
Is it weird that my eyes typically feel better and are less red after using Visine Allergy Eye Relief than when I use Pataday Extra Strength? My eye doc definitely isn't a fan of Visine, but seems to work pretty well for me. Pataday does work better than most other brands, however.
Hello, I live in Turkey and I have allergic conjunctivitis. The drops given by the doctor I went to lost their effect over time. I also have dry eyes. I use contact lenses, but they cause bleeding and itching. How can I use a drop?😊
Have you ever had a patient allergic or sensitive to boric acid? It seems to always irritate my eyes
Thank You so much, I've had long term effects of my eyes after having Covid. I'm going to try the preservative free alaway
Hopefully it helps! Let me know how it goes.
Partial to Zaditor or the generic ketotifen but I’ll try the preservative free. Thanks didn’t know this existed!!I’m Glad most of these products have moved to OTC the last 10 years. Too pricey to get at CVS so Amazon it is.
Yeah.. changing pataday to OTC has been awesome. I tell people about pataday and PF Alaway every day.
Right timing!! Thank you for the video❤️
Thanks for watching! I was hoping I wasn't too early for this video.
Bw is it available in India?
@@DrEyeGuy oh that's sad!! Can yu suggest any other eye drops for allergies wch is available in India if yu don't mind
@@ashwowie3982 Sorry! I was mistaken, I was thinking of another drop. I bet you can get Pataday in India. I'm not sure how it would be distributed over there. It's available on Amazon right now. So sorry I said that... haha. I was thinking of the Upneeq drop from my previous video.
@@DrEyeGuy hehe it's ok...thank yu so much
Darn allergies! Glad there's a good solution now that's preservative free.
It's an awesome option for everybody!
How to buy this I m in Dubai
How to avail?
I got prescribed azelastine for dry eyes with allergies. But my eyes dont itch, and I'm worried the drops will further dry out my eyes. 2 other eye doctors didn't notice allergies. I'm confused...
I was in the store earlier today and passed on Pataday. Wish I saw this video first.
Well shoot.. what did you end up getting?
Pataday FTW!!! It’s the only one that bring my eyeball down.
It's probably the drop I tell most of my patients about... it's awesome
The ampole is for single use per day of all over the day
Or* ?
I just got allergies at agee 56. I was prescribed pataday. Come to find out that it's sold over the counter now. I love this product. Works very fast within a hour I could tell the difference.i got the 0.2 version. Just as the doctor suggested. I never thought I would have allergies at 56 years old.
Awesome! Thank you for sharing your experience!
i’ve been dealing with clear stringy eye discharge and watery eyes since nov… i have been to 3 different doctors but none of the prescribed drops have helped. they prescribed me steroid drops and it actually worsened everything. i have been using systane drops for about a few weeks now (per my own research) but they haven’t helped either. i will try pataday twice a day version now, thanks for the video!
Hopefully they can help you. 🤞
did anything help you?
is this suitable for long term usage? any side effect?
no
Is pataday available in Canadian drugstores
I'm assuming it is, not sure though.
Confused. I thought Pataday was unique because of the mast cell stabilizer, but then you said Alaway has that too. So does Pataday do anything special?
Good question. Pataday is Olopatadine, and Alaway is Ketotifen. Different types of medications that have the same function. Pataday is unique in that most other drops are Ketotifen based.
Dr. 😢 Why is my eye allergy is not going away if it is caused by overuse steroid eye drops 😢
I have used pataday one a day every down then . I think it work great for me it’s seem like help with redness too.
Is it safe for ppl have dryeye?
Even though i don’t use everyday.
Can pataday and Lumify use the time ?
Thanks u doctor
Yes it's safe, but it does have a preservative in the drop, so just be aware of that. That can bug people's eyes if they are sensitive to it.
@@DrEyeGuy I'm starting to figure out that I must be very sensitive to preservatives because everything I was using that contains preservatives has been bothering my eyes from contact solution to make up and allergy eye drops. I think I was incorrectly diagnosed as having gcp but once I cut out preservatives my problem started to go away. I used preservatives for many many years so maybe it will take my eyes a little while to fully feel better.
@@Mamabear8654Sounds like you are on the right track!
Thank you for all the awesome videos … your information helps a lot. I just bought the Pataday extra strength however, I noticed that on the box of the 1% it states that it reduces redness, but on the extra strength box it does not mention anything about redness !!!….
So my question to you is, does the extra strength 7% also addresses the redness in the eye?…. Thanks a bunch Dr.
It should help with redness as long as the redness is associated with your allergies. I'm not sure sure the extra strength box doesn't say that... that is really interesting.
@@DrEyeGuy thank you soooo much Dr. I used it today and it was actually comforting to my eyes.
@@tatianaperalta8672 Good to hear! Thanks for reporting back.
@DrEyeGuy am suffering both ayes itching red and sneezing what should you recommend for me to take. Is Pataday good for both ayes and sneezing ellergies. Thanks you
My doctor recommended me Pataday it works great but evening time my eyes start getting red, but thats all, i don’t feel other symptoms and i wanna switch to alaway, and see if works better...
Do you think is safe for my eyes to switch from pataday to alaway from one day to another?
Please help 😊great video
Thanks for the comment! Yes, absolutely safe to switch from Pataday to Alaway the next day. Let me know if it works!
Doctor gave it to my daughter so now I have same problem can I use the same pataday . 2 but afraid whether I use or not .. please suggest me doctor
Pataday is an over the counter drop in the US, so you don't need a prescription. It's always recommended to see your eye doctor to make sure you know the condition that you have going on.
My eyes feel itchy and they begin to twitch sometimes. I have used pataday and zaditor. And they don’t fully work, I don’t know what else to do
Have you tried the extra strength pataday? Or the preservative free alaway. Either way you can get your eyes checked, maybe see if you need a stronger prescription eye drop to help your eyes out.
@@DrEyeGuy I’m goin to try the free preservative alaway hopefully it works. my eye doctor recommended me the once daily pataday and I have been using them. It could be that I might need stronger prescription. I have a follow up appointment in 2 weeks. I forgot to ask my doctor is this because I work outside in the cold . Thanks
How can I get rid of the eye mucus I’m hurting my eyes trying to get it out
Have you had it checked by an eye doctor yet? You will also want to be careful with developing Mucous Fishing Syndrome.
Can i order it off amazon
Yes you can, I have the links in the description.👍
I just bought a box of that Alaway tonight.....Do I use 1 vial for both eyes?
Yes, 1 vial for both eyes. Let me know how you like it.
@@DrEyeGuy Ok so that's 4 drops in each vial?? I'll use 1 in the morning and 1 in the evening
Technically you are suppose to use 1 vial in the morning for both eyes, and then 1 vial in the evening for both eyes.
@@DrEyeGuy Ok I'll let you know how it works out
So far so good but I get about 8 drops out of one vial
Watching this with my irritated eyes.
Hopefully the drops help!
I tried Paseo. It did nothing.
i've tried artificial tears, since my eyes can be dry.
My eye doctor prescribed Lotomax for times when flushing the eyes does not help.
I'm blind, so what little of my one good eye I have, I'd like to keep healthy. The thing about the cornea worries me.
Reviews on Aloway on Amazon seem iffy. Some good, but the top review has only one star. ...
Doctor said my eyelids are red and irritated. I get allergies year round. Pollens, dust mites, pets, molds... fun times :(
That's rough, sorry to hear that. Have you found anything that helps?
@@DrEyeGuy Not yet. :( I'd like to!
My eyes itch so bad that when I close my eyelids, they feel like they’re scratchy, like razors! I’m miserable with allergies, this past month I’ve probably spent about $200 on just eye drops and haven’t found one that works. These allergies are killing my, especially in my eyes so I’m going to order these and hopefully they work! 😭 thank you!!
I hope they work for you! If not, I would get your eyes checked out. Allergies can cause these little bumps on the inside of the eyelids called pappillae. Sometimes it might take prescription steroid drops to reduce the inflammation. Keratitis, or inflammation on the cornea can also make it feel like you have razor blades in your eyes as well.
I tried Alaway didn’t help me DR gave me prescription I tried 5.. 6 brands didn’t help me.
Frustrating! Did you use the preservative free version as well?
What are your thoughts on using Pataday Twice Daily (.1%) up to the amount of the extra strength (.7%) daily?
I have personally done this and have had patients do this with great success. It would be considered an "off-label" use of the drop, so you would need to have the ok of your doctor.
Thank you!
😮
Sir mera bhi eye infection hua hai kya karu 😟 dane jaisa nikla he 1 year ho geya ab tak thik nahi ho raha PLEASE help me
Sorry, I don't understand
Doesn’t help. I retired 7 brand still have allergy
Wow... have you tried a steroid eye drop at all?
This are good for watery eyes right?
Yes, if the watery eyes are caused by allergies.
@@DrEyeGuy update I don’t like pataday so far ,,didn’t really help with redness and still have watery eyes 😩
@@chevyss18 Well shoot... I wonder if your redness and watery eyes are caused by something else. Have you had an eye exam recently? Thanks for the update.
my eyes are itchy
