Why do my eyes always water? Especially outdoors in the wind. I'm 69 and have had it for a few years now. It is very annoying and can no longer wear mascara because of this. Thank you in anticipation.
I have ankylosing spondylitis a form of rheumatoid arthritis which I'm on Anti TNF medication for. As a side effect of that, I have have had dry eyes for over 15 years, which has become an increasing annoyance in my life. I always have dry itchy eyes and mucus strings that build up and lay over my eyes or that lodge under my eyelids, not painful but very uncomfortable. I have seen GPs numerous times over the years who have given all kinds of drops which provide no relief. Interestingly enough I have also had numerous bouts of iritis which is also attributed to my diagnosis, which has been treated effectively over the years with atropine, anti-inflammatory, and anti-biotic drops. any Advice on how to sort the dry eye issue?
I have problem in one eye. I have noticed it blinks less. I use drops in that eye and get some relief. Doctor what ever you said is hundred percent correct.
Great video. I have experienced almost all those symptoms. Some of which I didn't know were related to dry eyes! Growing up I thought of teary eyes, sensitive to light, itchy eyes, scratchy eyes, burning eyes, swollen eyelids, little pimple looking things on eyelids were just part of me "normal". Went to an eye specialist about 6 years ago and he told me I have very little oil in my eyes!
@sanketpatel5146 Hi, I'm feeling much much better. Before, after seeing blue light for a few seconds it would hurt my eyes, but not anymore. I can see blue light for longer. But taking a break from blue light was the thing that especially helped me, but the heat mask from the brand Optase $20, also brought a lot of relief I would do it 2 times a day, 10 minutes each and the eye drops, I think the best ones are Systane Complete Dry Eye Care Symptom Relief Eye Drops there in a gold/white/purple box, $15, and I would put them on every 2 hours, putting my fingers on the corners of my eyes for 2 minutes after putting the eye drops on so they could absorb better and not leak out. 👍
I'm exercising everything you are speaking about. I have thyroid and arthritis. I was just recently diagnosed with glaucoma, in both eyes, lost some of my sight in my right eye, but still can see. I take medication for thyroid, but not for arthritis, I swim, bike ride, yoga, and anything that relieves my pain. I am under a doctors care right now. Hopefully, the glaucoma and cornea specialist doctors can help with the redness and itching, and being an allergy sufferer does not help. Keep me in your prayers. Thank you for this information, I have learned a lot about dry eyes.
I never felt dryness in the eyes, and my eye doctor did not talk to me about it but I found this video looking for causes of blurry vision (temporary and random moments).

Thank you so much for sharing all of your wisdom! Have you made any videos on blocked tear ducts? I have a pea-sized area of inflammation at the inner corner of my eye. After irrigation, my eye was normal for a few weeks. Have seen multiple MD’s and scheduled for DCR surgery soon but would love to avoid it. Any other ideas?
I had a lens replacement last September and my eyes have been watering consistently ever since I have tried so many things to combat the miserable condition but nothing seems to work any help would be gratefully accepted😀
Dr., yes l have all the symptoms you described in the above video. I have had severe dry eyes for 30 years or so. Been to see so many Doctors over the 3 decades nothing helps. But recently l stumbled upon this Ophthalmologist & Lasik Surgeon back in my hometown , l visited him 3 times over a period of 8 months and of course l was prescribed some medications like drops & wipes and after daily use of the medication for more than 6 months surprisingly my condition got better. I still continue to use the drops & wipes. I am glad l came to know Dr.Julian M. TAGAL… Bless him. Thank you Dr., for such useful & knowledgeable videos…
Hi Doc I’m suffering from severe dryness of the eye I’ve been to a lot of doctor and did blepharoplasty and botox and I had a lot of medicine for dry eyes but still it didn’t help me so now I can’t do any normal activities like I used to do I’m mostly spending my time on bed. As of now I’m using Catrionorm and fish oil coz the last last doctor advised me to. I hope you can give me advice and help me ..I’ve watch/ listen mostly to your videos and I really appreciate it coz it helps me understand my symptoms,by the way I’m from philippines and I’m 57 years old.. thanks in advance
Hi, thank you for all your videos. It has helped me better understand my MGD and also RCE. I came across NovaTears Omega 3 eye drops and noticed on the box it states that this drop is 'antimicrobial'. Can you please let me know what it means that the NovaTears Omega 3 eye drops is antimicrobial? Thanks
Hello, New to your channel. I think I have a unique situation going on. My right eye is a lot drier than my left. I do suffer from seasonal allergies but I'm also on my computer a lot of the time. I've got an appointment coming up soon with my eye doctor but I'm tempted to get Visene real tears but I'm concerned about those recalls I've been hearing about. What should I do?Thanks for this. It's been very informative.
I've had photophobia for 2 years, I visited several eye doctors and they kept saying that they didn't see anything wrong with my eyes. Thankfully I found another doctor a few days ago that told me what my problem is. Being undiagnosed is not a good feeling.
Thank you Dr, you are amazing we need more people like you especially local, woke up this morning freaking out & thinking maybe I was going blind, couldn't keep my left eye open, red, sore, pain, itchy & gritty with tons of watery eye, blurred vison coming & going, eye lids twitching, I think I was dyhrated I drink alot of coffee but not much else, I took three six ounce cups of water & drank & my eyes are getting much better after two hours, thank you so much this has never happened to me before, I've had alittle bit of dry eyes before but nothing this bad & always went away with mins of waking up, this morning this was a different beast than I was used to & was panicking so thank you again you are a Saint for this video
Lol ,ive been diagnosed by over 3 doctors that i have dry eyes, abd tbh when i first started having intense light sensitivity where I couldn't even sit in light ,i thought I had glaucoma, and since then recurring thoughts leading to health anxiety has been popping up whether I have glaucoma, the second last doctor i went to,he also said ,i only have dry eyes, the last doctor too said the same thing,I have been diagnosed with dry eyes over 7-8 years now,but I dont feel itch or burning sensation much after that first time, but I have starburst vision, halo vision and glare and the rest, before I went to the last doc again,i was having extreme light sensitivity problems, and then the doctor again prescribed for dry eyes,Im now 20 but I am having recurring health anxiety whether i have glaucoma, doctor can you help me on this aspect,or can you atleast identify whether I am not being misdiagnosed or I should rather focus on treating my health anxiety, because some of the shit,I read on Google made me hell depressed
Great video! It's crazy but i have all the symptoms you described, (except for the watery eyes.) Now, i know why i have these symptoms. And i also know that i have dry eyes. In 2009, i've been diagnosed with leukemia. And to treat that i had to get a stemcel-transplantation, (In 2010.) After 2yrs. My body started to reject the stemcel's and in a matter of 2 weeks, i ended up in a wheelchair and i never came out of it. I lived with a lot of pain since then. In the end, i was diagnosed with Graft Versus Host Disease, (GVHD.) "Funny" enough, it is an eye-doctor that found out that i had GVHD. Because the first signs of GVHD were found on my eyes. I had indeed dry eyes. The feeling of something foreign in it. The feeling of sandy eyes. etc... Like i said: Literally everything you described except for the watery eyes. This has been going on for years. I've been trying different methodes. Fluid/ointment/salve's... (All by subscription of an eye-doctor btw.) But nothing helped or really just a little bit.) But i've had pain for years and the fatigue/soreness was also a very big part the last couple of years. The eye-doctor even tried some kind of subscription were they take my own blood and mixed that up to make eye-drops. After all these years. A couple of months ago, they decided to start with scleral lenses. I can't describe how happy i am! Once i put in my scleral lenses, the pain was instantly gone! I can obviously see better as well. I can stand the light much better as well and the "hazy/foggy/blurriness" has all disappeared because of it. I can hold them in for a complete day. After of course hours of wearing them (i think around the 8-10hr. mark) they start to irritate. But you can easily drop some eye-liquid in or take out your lenses and fill them with new liquid in it. Your eyes might get fatigued of course and it's better to let your eyes rest a bit if that's the case. Always take your scleral lenses out of course! let them sit in a liquid solution (that your eye doctor subscribed to you.) In my case, it is "Ever Clean+." But it might be different in your case. Anyway, i hope that i could help maybe someone who has the same problem as me, even if your dry eyes is because of something different. Go see an eye-doctor, it's absolutely worth it! Though for my lenses, it was an ophtal eye-doctor. But i don't know if that matters.
after 20 years of painful debilitating dry eyes (from vision correction surgery, then getting clothing detergent in my eyes. My fault) I moved to a Harbin hot springs, worked three days a week there, used the sauna, hot and cold Springs morning and night, and the dryness is more or less under control. It was 6 to 10 months of that.? Circulation and cleaning it is the key.

I have made the mistake of using contact solution as eye drops... I believe that I have stripped my eyes of that tear film so I have had dry spots! Thank you for being so informative.
Very helpful. I went to my optometrist and he said "yeah, looks like you have dry eyes". I asked what I could do about it he just said "not much you can do"
@@marionsanta2883 as an update, my dry eyes cleared up a lot. All I can put it doen to is consuming a raw clove of garlic each day with olive oil, and when going to bed sqeeze eyes closed a few times to program the eyes to stay closed - I think it helps.
Hi Dr, I started having dry eyes during the pandemic and i dont know why but i started seeing my right side of my nose(like it looks little bit bent to right side) when reading or looking down like it interrupts my vision.I also feel i have more dryness in my right eye so is this two connected in some way.
My daughter has been struggling with dry eye for several months to the point of staining. No one seems to give us answers or go above and beyond to help. It’s getting to the point that she is fearful of going blind. She has been using eye drops for months and also they put her on a steroid eye drop which didn’t help. Could you please give us some kind of direction please . Thank you for your time
I’m finally doing well. Cequa, a few weeks of loteprednol, Eyegiene compress, massage, scrub and Eyeganics drops- completely organic and chemical free, and night ointment. Doing great. Oh, and blinking exercises. My doc expressed my glands and they’re looking decent 😊. Life is better now! My issues are partially a result of weak closure from bilateral facial nerve palsy from bilateral skull base/C1 surgery.
I was lucky enough to be a patient of Dr. Donald Korb, in Boston MA decades ago, when I wanted to try contact lenses. He told me I have dry eye syndrome, which made it impossible for me to wear them. It's only gotten worse w/ age, but daily lid scrubs do help.
Hi I have an eye health check every 12, months . That always ask What are your concerns? I say , dry eyes . Then I’m told to do a hot flannel wash daily . Which is no relief. So thanks to watching I have every symptom you talked about . I’ve started using , heated wheat bag for 10 min , eye scrub , and dry eye drops . It’s getting a bit better .
Hey Dr. EyeGuy Have your dry eye patient also complained about experiencing sporadic headaches? (Isolated dull aches scattered around the head; around the ears; temples; forehead and brows)
I’ve had dry eyes for about 6 years but they we’re pretty much under control until I just had cataract surgery, OMG the blurry vision is scareing me to death, paid extra money for a toric lens and now I’m blurred up from morning until night, had my left eye done 3 weeks ago and my right last week. I’m using xiidra, preservative free eye drops and still NO relief.. Please tell me this will ease soon
I think I've had dry eyes for many years, without really bothering me (contact lens though were difficult to wear). I have recently had cataract surgery and have had terrible discomfort and pain and blurry vision afterwards! Are all your suggestions appropriate for after laser surgery? I am using wetting eye drops and heat....not helping....What to do??????
Doc i wear contact lenses, day time no issue, just a but itchty corner. But at night , when i wake up. It hurt, so dry. The corner interieur sude hurt, then after few minuts of blinking, and putting my contact lenses its ok...
Ty so much 4 this video. I have had almost all of these problems 4 a very long time. I wear contacts so I just always thought that it was my allergies & my contacts causing everything. I just went 4 an eye exam about 6 weeks ago. Shouldn’t they have noticed that then? I just told them that my eyes were irritated from allergies.
My eyes hurt and very sensitive to different light levels and I have a scar looking tissue on both eyes On each side of my irises , the eye dr told me that it wasn’t Cataracts it was due to dirt and debris getting into my eye and causing scarring and they didn’t Prescribe me any eyedrops or tell me what kind to get
Hey Dr. Questions.... I had a buckle and a lens replacement years ago. Every since my surgery my eye's have been dry. I have used just about every eye drop. What would you recommend. And I have spoke with my eye Dr concerning this matter. Nothing seems to work.
I can see 2 images but its only specific with LED Lights and in contrast inhanced like written with white color in background of black color And the second image is lighter in contrast as compared to original one
My eye doc did a procedure squeezing my oil under eyes. It made my eyes WORSE. I have severe dry eye now and haven’t been back to doctor. Just started watching your videos. I am on computer a lot Wore glasses since 4 and 65 now. I don’t wear glasses because they bug me now. I have low thyroid on levothyroxine and take omega, cod liver oil and Krill oil. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you Forgot one thing. I have an ulcer on my right eye.
Hi , very educative video . What state are you located . I have a feeling that my eyes are dry or fatigued causing me to have light sensitivity but the optometrist I went to see said my eyes are healthy, pls I need help.
How long do it take before I become chronic been stinging and feel like potato chips since nov4 I got enxyty and pannic I pray it leaves and not stay wouldit get better to live with or worst
Sir my vision is also blurry.when I see in the shady or slightly dark area or dark color clothes I feel like my eyes are full of small dots(like water droplets).what my be the reason sir
is it possible to have dry eye in only one eye? last week i woke up with my eye red burning, blurry vision, itchy and watery i thought it might have just been an eye infection but it went away and the last couple days i started getting blurry vision again and now it’s redish lot of veiny spots and itchy/blurry could that be dry eye possibly ?
I do not have allergies and I do not have any inflammation and the glands are open, but they do not secrete oil. Is there any hope that it will be secreted over time, or have I reached a state that will never secrete? Thanks in advance
I have had eye twitch for about a year now. I seen a specialist and he said that I have dry eye and allergies, so he said we need to start treating for dry eye and drops for allergies to see if that helps with the twitching and I will see him in 3 months. I still have the twitching, which is my left eye. The lubricating drops I use may help some but I’m still having the twitching now after 3 weeks of using drops. Any advice ?
My eyes feel really sticky… blurry vision and lower eye lid twitching. I’m allergic to dogs and it almost feels like when I’m having a reaction to them. Eye doctor and other doctors can’t find anything wrong. Saying it’s all stress. Any ideas what it could be?
In a way it could. The eyes, tears and sinus can be linked some what. If you have bad dry eyes with a lot of inflammation, you could possibly be more prone to infection, which could possibly lead to sinus infections. It can also be the other way around. If you have sinus issues, that can affect the eyes and contribute to dry eyes. I wouldn't say this is always the case or anything, but it's possible.
I have all of those symptoms plus my eyelashes get covered with dry gunk. When I try to remove the gunk, that’s when I get the feeling that something is in my eyes. It keeps reforming and reforming and I use the eye cleaner lid wipes which do a very good job but it reforms right back again. It is clear btw.
My eyes have been so dry started with the crusty gunck and then the foreign sensations my eyes get red and swollen from trying to scrub it away I literally have to cut it off with scissors it almost never stops it’s like peach fuzzies that builds up inside of my eyes then starts slowly sliding down my cheeks you can’t see it but I can feel it it feels like it’s never ending so very frustrating

Can someone who treat a lot have dry eyes?
I’ve had zero symptoms when I was diagnosed. And the only symptom I have now in a slight stinging when I put drops in, that goes away in a minute.
I got dry eye really bad Almost 4 years
very helpful tocpic
Thx for great info
my eye ball hurts, I feel a lot of tiredness and fatigue always feel I need to sleep for my eyes to rest.. it is frustrating!!
Very helpful. I went to my optometrist and he said "yeah, looks like you have dry eyes". I asked what I could do about it he just said "not much you can do"
Yikes...that's embarrassing to hear as an eye doctor.
Yeah my opthomoligest was the same not much you can do comes with age...so I've been trying many types of drops..
@@marionsanta2883 as an update, my dry eyes cleared up a lot. All I can put it doen to is consuming a raw clove of garlic each day with olive oil, and when going to bed sqeeze eyes closed a few times to program the eyes to stay closed - I think it helps.
I put Castor oil in my dry eyes. It does help a lot.
Hi Dr,
I started having dry eyes during the pandemic and i dont know why but i started seeing my right side of my nose(like it looks little bit bent to right side) when reading or looking down like it interrupts my vision.I also feel i have more dryness in my right eye so is this two connected in some way.
Good to hear!
Did your eyes burn in the beginning when applying cequa?
I was lucky enough to be a patient of Dr. Donald Korb, in Boston MA decades ago, when I wanted to try contact lenses. He told me I have dry eye syndrome, which made it impossible for me to wear them. It's only gotten worse w/ age, but daily lid scrubs do help.
Exceptional content in this video! I'm looking forward to watching more videos in the series. Incomplete blink is a term I haven't heard before.
Thanks for the awesome comment, that means a lot coming from you. Your videos are awesome too!
I get watery eyes in the morning. Is that dry eyes too?
Hi
I have an eye health check every 12, months .
That always ask
What are your concerns?
I say , dry eyes . Then I’m told to do a hot flannel wash daily . Which is no relief.
So thanks to watching I have every symptom you talked about . I’ve started using , heated wheat bag for 10 min , eye scrub , and dry eye drops . It’s getting a bit better .
I'm hoping more and more doctors are taking dry eye more seriously. Good to hear you are getting a little better.
Thank you
Please how do you treat dry eye photophobia?
Focus on treating the dry eye. It's possible it could be linked to trigeminal neuralgia. Have you been to your eye doctor yet?
@@DrEyeGuy Yes he said I have eye allergies and my eyes was Overexposed to light
is there a cure for the retena is not srat
Hey Dr. EyeGuy
Have your dry eye patient also complained about experiencing sporadic headaches? (Isolated dull aches scattered around the head; around the ears; temples; forehead and brows)
I see double when it comes to bright lights, is this due to to my dry eyes because I definitely have dry eyes after watching your video.
It's possible it could be from the dry eyes... but it's tricky because it could be from other things as well.
@@DrEyeGuy Right I will be seeing an doctor soon then 👍.

I was told by my doctor you have to get dry eye under control before that surgery. The surgery can make them worse.
The corner interieur sude hurt, then after few minuts of blinking, and putting my contact lenses its ok...
can dry eyes cause eye to be blurry for a week?
is there a cure for retenaq is wrincle
Ty so much 4 this video. I have had almost all of these problems 4 a very long time. I wear contacts so I just always thought that it was my allergies & my contacts causing everything. I just went 4 an eye exam about 6 weeks ago. Shouldn’t they have noticed that then? I just told them that my eyes were irritated from allergies.
Thankyou. This video has been very helpful.
Thank you! Glad to hear this video is still helping people.
My eyes hurt and very sensitive to different light levels and I have a scar looking tissue on both eyes On each side of my irises , the eye dr told me that it wasn’t Cataracts it was due to dirt and debris getting into my eye and causing scarring and they didn’t Prescribe me any eyedrops or tell me what kind to get
Can adapalene or tretinoin cause dry eyes even if you are applying vaseline all over the eyes before applying it
Hey Dr.
Questions.... I had a buckle and a lens replacement years ago. Every since my surgery my eye's have been dry. I have used just about every eye drop. What would you recommend. And I have spoke with my eye Dr concerning this matter. Nothing seems to work.
I can see 2 images but its only specific with LED Lights and in contrast inhanced like written with white color in background of black color
And the second image is lighter in contrast as compared to original one
Tell me what should i do
unfortunately there are many things that could cause that type of symptom. Best thing would have it checked by your eye doc.
Thank you

Hi , very educative video . What state are you located . I have a feeling that my eyes are dry or fatigued causing me to have light sensitivity but the optometrist I went to see said my eyes are healthy, pls I need help.

I do not have allergies and I do not have any inflammation and the glands are open, but they do not secrete oil. Is there any hope that it will be secreted over time, or have I reached a state that will never secrete? Thanks in advance
I always believe there is hope, especially if you have your glands. How are you doing with your omega 3 intake?
Can dry eyes cause sinus problems
Has your eye doctor looked into it? I'm wondering if your eyes are reacting to something.
