This is how I ended my dry eye watery eyes after 3 years - (my daily regimen):
    1 - 1 x Vitamin A 5000 IU capsule
    2 - 3 x High strength Omega-3 Fish Oil capsules
3 - (at night) Rub/massage Organic Castor Oil on top and bottom eyelids, and also along the rim of the eyelids (Use cold-pressed, hexane free castor oil)
4 - (in the morning) Gently clean/wash (just with soap) the eyes/eyelids
This takes all of 60 seconds per day! Get decent quality products, the cost is minimal (the supplements are good for you and the castor oil is also great for your skin).

Noticed that blinking while look down with head bent downwards is more effective to stimulate tear formation when the eye is dry, even more effective when i also chew something at the same time. idk why but if i just blink with head up i can blink for a long time and the dye remains completely dry whereas the other way i not only get my blinking exercises done but also stimulate the tear glands for some reason. it’s a win win.

GREAT content. BETTER than any eye care professional ever provided. I went to MidWestern University Eye Institute in Glendale AZ. Their level of service & equipment was incredible compared to professional practices. They took their time as well to properly fit Scalera lenses (I cash paid b/c insurance at the veterinary hospital where I was employed, was too costly). From there, The Dry Eye Shop in Washington state has amazing product information. Lastly, DIET, DIET, DIET! This is a game changer. It's about eating, or what to avoid, that helps. American grocery stores unfortunately have MANY products that are the cause of illnesses. Good🍀Luck friends!

Great video! Thank you! Many prescription drugs can cause dry eye. Of course, the chance of needing Rxs as people age increases and those are the people who eventually need cataract surgery. I was just surprised that was not mentioned. I am not encouraging anyone to stop taking their meds, but they should consult with the prescribing doctor if they think a RX might be the cause of their dry eyes.

I was living with dry irritated eyes for years and I presumed there wasn’t much I could do about it. Then I started taking doxycycline for my rosacea and within a day or two I felt wow, my eyes have never felt so healthy and look way less irritated! From then I realised I had MGD, ocular rosacea and allergic conjunctivitis, and have now tried some of the other treatments and things feel so much better.

My symptoms were dry, irritated, slightly swollen eyes. Sometimes people thought I had been crying or hungover.
The doxy has made a great difference but I also use a tea tree eye wash twice daily, eye wipes, lubricating drops, antihistamine drops, and ciclosporine drops.
I’m going to do IPL and LLLT too.
But I’ll take Efracea for the rest of my life. I have no side effects and the studies say it’s extremely safe. Just make sure you get the low dose rather than antibiotic version. Also I use ivermectin, tretinoin and azelaic acid on my skin.

I am a retired nurse, now in my 70s. 9 years ago I was diagnosed with chronic blepharitis. The regime every day is flax oil 2000 mg 4times a day. (Major Omega 3) and hot water compresses for 3 minutes. I use a fresh facecloth kept comfortably hot by refreshing every 20to 30 seconds. I keep 14 facecloths in an isolated spot, and dry on a towel bar . These cloths are in their own wicker basket so that they can be washed separately. I have an eye massage as soon as I finish the compress. I rarely use eye drops, not for at least a year.

@@fairchild1737hey !!! Thank you for the great info about Similasan with eye bright!! I never heard if sny eyedropd that actually repair (until my fads surgery).. the only ones I've seen are antibiotic polysporin drops for ears and eyes that work wonders. But it's just antibiotics, not vision help. The other thing I use is dry eye drops but again that is just a temporary dry eye treatment. Eyebright is supposed to be really good! Excited about this! I wonder of it would help cornea or cataracts?!
Could you explain the entire steps about silver water and castor oil? Do you mean it comes inside the bottle? I make my own colloidal silver water. Do yiu use them ad daily drops? And how to use castor use safely? How often do you use each of these?
I have astigmatism/near sighted (can't see far away) and dry eye from bad computer habits (not enough blinking and too much blue light.
I and many other would appreciate your wisdom. If you dont want to comment here, maybe you have Twitter or social media where yiu can go through ALL the details and any other supplements?
Also, a surgeon botched my dad's cataract surgery, damaging his cornea and now he needs a transplant. His other eye didn't have surgery but does have cataracts. I read some scientific studies about eye drops called... ok I am blanking out, it is either l-cystine or l-carnosine. They are supposed to really help.
Also, cutting our sugar and carbs.
Do you have any suggestions for my dad? He also have fuchs disease, a degenerative vision loss but he is in his 70s, smokes constantly and never showed any degenerative from fuchs so I dont think it is that serious for him yet (at late 70s!) ... just sudden onset cataracts after some shot/meds that disagreed with him. (Cataracts are different from fuchs).
There are so many supplements from turmeric to lutein, I don't know the top ones to recommend because he won't take 20 supplements per day.
Thank you again so much! Sharing is caring so you must care a lot!

I don't know whether it already exists, but another video in which you rank the things/behaviors that make dry eyes, MGD etc. worse would also be very helpful! :)

I just bought the large pack single use preservative free ones which are cheaper. And after using it, I would use an eye mist over my lids. My optometrist says can’t do mist alone as that would seal in any inflammation. Is that true?

I have been using warm compresses since March and not sure if that therapy is effective in my case. Left eye had superficial keratectomy in April 2021 and needs ointment every night and occasionally is sensitive to the heat. Have also been taking 2,500 mg of Omega-3's for two months and will give that therapy another 3 to 4 months.
Definitely need to get more disciplined on the 20-20-20 rule + blinking.
Last but in my case but definitely not least is HYDRATION because I take a medication that dehydrates me.
Thank you for your excellent advice❤

I had similar procedure on both eyes, could not tolerate the ointment, so I wear goggles at night and use Refresh Optive with flax instead to avoid painful corneal erosions. I feel the pain of your struggle! I am adding in prescrip drops and recommeneded vitamins to see if that improves in next 2-3 months.

    • @BellaBloomberg

Thank you for sharing. Refresh Optive with flax. I will look into that. Is helps the cornea? My dad has cataracts in both eyes. An eye surgeon put the lens in one eye to fix the cataract vision issue but he damaged the cornea so badly during the operation that now my dad needs a cornea transplant and obviously can't risk surgery ln the other eyes. So with the damage to the cornea his vision isn't any better. If there are any cornea drops that help even a little bit, that wouod be amazing. Better to try than do nothing! The eye surgeon ghosted my dad after the botched procedure and refuses to meet with him so my dad has no idea how to mitigate anybody this damage.
(He lives in a socialist society so it is very difficult to sue for anything... and we are known for being a nice people country, so my dad even feels bad that he isnt going to be paying the doctor several more thousand dollars for the other eye... like my dad let the doctor down and the doctor is right to ghost him).

I'm at the stage of autologous eye serum drops after 18 mo.of and eye specialist and constant artificial tears, several kinds and cyclosporine drops for the inflammation. Medicare refuses to pay for the blood eye drops where they draw my blood and put them in them in drops after being concentrated at a specialty pharmacy. My doctor has mentioned none of this even after using expensive $2,000 Restasis for 90 ampules which are one time use. Luckily Medicare did pay for those. It did not help either. He never mentioned anything about diet or Omega-3. I use a humidifier and a warm I cover and ointment at night. A mental health doctor gave me hydroxyzine for 5 years insomnia and apparently that drug ruined my eyes! The autologous procedure it is extremely expensive the drops are 125 for five tiny bottles that lasts only 5 weeks, a bottle a week I'm on Medicare .they don't pay hardly anything of all these over the counter drugs, ointments, and definitely not the expensive autologus procedure or the eye drops of the blood eye drops. I just started those two weeks ago and I go back in 4 months so I have to keep using these 8 to 10 times a day which have to be refrigerated. I'm trying anything to keep my eyesight. I'm not even sure what my diagnosis is when I go back in October though you can bet your bottom dollar I will find out! Thank you for all of this information. He never mentioned eyelid massage at all! I did not know about the castor oil but he did tell me about using a humidifier use

  • @Squeak61
    @Squeak61 Год назад +1

I’d liked the Restasis, but when I started getting it from Express Scripts, I had burning in my eyes from it. Before that I was getting at my local pharmacy, and I had no burning. I contacted Express Scripts and they told me it was the same medicine, and to contact my doctor, and I needed to stop using it. I would give it a 8 on the scale.
I did the Omega 3 and had some relief. Maybe a 5. I heard and saw Omegas 3 was causing tachycardia and hair loss in some people. I quit because I was having both of those happening.
I have the plugs in and they help some, but not great. Maybe a 5?

I was diagnosed with "one of the autoimmune disorders" but we really don't know which. Considering I'm allergic to wheat pollen, we're leaning toward a non celiac gluten/wheat sensitivity and also haven't ruled out RA, which runs in my family.. and severe dry eye can be a factor in both. To find out if this affects me I went almost completely wheat free and while it took at least 4-6 weeks for a lot of my symptoms to disappear and my dry eye, while still present, also improved. I often deal with gritty eyes, blurred vision, constantly rubbing my eyes due to the feeling of foreign bodies especially under my upper lids. (I also started increasing my Omega 3 intake - not in capsule form, but because of eating foods higher in omega-3 fatty acids.) Sadly when speaking to my eye doctor about plugs, he stated I didnt need them. He has been pretty aloof about my severe dry eye and I am now looking for someone who takes my eye health more seriously. Awesome video, thank you so much.

@Chadbadsad you have no idea. I'm 5 years in with sclerals. It did treat my dry eye nicely but it was like a prison sentence. I had no problem inserting, removing and daily cleaning yes is a hassle. The real deal breaker was having to remove, rinse and reinsert them 5 times a day because they get mucusy and cloudy very easily. I just switched back to myday daily. Vision isn't as sharp and eyes feel exposed to air now but it's only been 1 day. We shall see.

I'm doing warm compresses +massage+cleaning twice a day now. In the evening, I use one of those "bathtubs" for eyes. I hardly can see any oil coming out of the glands. Should I continue? Have you heard about or even tried the new Blephasteam? It's said to be revolutionary for MGD.
Would you recommend those contact lenses you discussed about? Can they help me to get my vision back?
Thanks a ton for all of those helpful videos of yours.
