      Hi , I use rewetting drops once in awhile . I wear contacts (20 plus years ) and my eyes get drier and irritated , gritty as I get older with them in or out . Trying to find something safe to use ? Thanks !

      @@natedillard7353 Thanks for sharing. I highly recommend preservative-free tears as a safe place to start. If the dryness gets worse, you may need to escalate to prescription dry eye medications. Best of luck!

      I've not found anything that helps me as much as Systane Ultra PF. I'm an EBMD patient with some signs of meibomian gland dysfunction according to imaging I had done. I've tried Refresh Relieva, Refresh Optive Advanced, Refresh Omega-3, Systane Complete, and Systane Hydration. It doesn't seem to matter....I get eye pain and smearing after a few days of anything but Systane Ultra. I've been experimenting in hopes of finding additional improvement. I do use muro drops and ointment and a heated eye mask.

      I don’t know if this is bad or not, but when my eyes are dry I take the big bottle of saline that I use to store my contact lenses in and I squash some drops into each eye. I can’t help it. I’m cheap. I can get a really big bottle from the grocery store for just a few dollars.

    1. Pataday extra strength in the morning
    2. Systane Ultra as needed
    3. Genteal gel in the tube before working outside when it’s windy
    4. Eyelid cleansing wipes whenever I remember to use them

      Toluene? I looked at the refresh mega 3 ingredients, and I noticed that toluene is one of the inactive ingredients. Toluene is one of those products they have taken out of some nail polishes because it’s carcinogenic. So I’m wondering if you can tell me why toluene is included in this eyedrop, please.

    hi, may i please run something by you. its a theory i have and am wondering your thoughts. I have had lasik (im sure u rmr lol), and one of my biggest complains is SEVERE morning dry eye.
    my thoughts are that, during REM sleep, this movement of the eye serves as stimulation to the lacrimal functional unit and thus the eye provides lubrication/tears. However, seeing that in lasik patients there is a loss of corneal sensation n feedback, i figured this may be the underlying reason as to why my extreme morning dry eye is happening (it makes it very difficult to wake up n function).
    i have tried almost everything, ointments, gels, etc, even eye tapping (i thought my eyes might be staying open at night). If you have any suggestions at all on how to alleviate this it would be tremendously helpful. thanks !!!!

    • @MicheleLeeMD
      @MicheleLeeMD  2 года назад +3

      Hi again, hard to know exactly how to help without knowing your eyes, but if you wake up with dry eyes you might need to put in a thick ointment at night. After LASIK you lose some nerve sensation so you might need treatment for neurotrophic keratitis (serum tears, oxervate) if things are really bad. If you haven't found relief, I would suggest you ask your eye doctor for suggestions and/or seek a cornea specialist to take a look.
      Thanks again for your comments, and hope you get some relief soon!

    • @jakec5618
      @jakec5618 2 года назад +2

      @@MicheleLeeMD Thanks !!!! Yes, i think in the near future i may have to to see a cornea specialist n look into trying oxervate or serum tears. I have tried systane nightime ointment but it has not helped much.
      Btw, i shared your tips about not rubbing eyes with my mom as she has a bad habit of that. Also, i think thats great advice especially for post eye surgery patients.
