I just changed my RTD and the only change that I had to your process was to tie a string around the connectors before pulling the old sensor and then re-tying around the new connectors so I didn't have to mess with fishing the new cabling through....Great video!
Thank you. I am going to be replacing the controller on my Pro22 with a PID controller that comes with a new RTD probe. I was kind of sweating how to replace the RTD, this is exactly what I needed.
Thanks, Tink! Yeah the pool is about to get covered but waiting on some parts from the pool company. It’s too cold to swim for sure lol. I’ll try to fix anything at least once before turning it over to someone else. Cheers!
Yeah but if you had it set to max temp and it's still not doing that and you replaced the rtd probe I just talked to traeger and they said that ill need a new controller if that doesn't fully work. I have the same issue.
I never actually use anything inside other than I scrape the grease tray with a putty knife and dump the debris. I use a wooden scraper for the actual grates never anything that will scratch the porcelain off of them.
The traeger in my opinion is not capable of hitting high temperatures maybe 375deg on a good day but lift the lid for 1min well good luck getting back to that temp. The thing is great for chicken and smoking if your feeling Lazy. But outside of that it is just not worth the money. I am just not a fan of this pellet smoker. I get far better taste smoking on my pk360 with Minimal effort because the PK whole temp so well.
Yes, I prefer to use mine for smoking versus high heat cooks. You can still do a steak in it but the high heat sear is not as impactful with it. Cheers!
Thank you. You didn’t have to make this video but you did to help us…
No problem. Glad it’s helpful. Cheers!

I love my Traeger. I've had it since 2014. My longest lasting grill for sure. Such a solid machine that cooks wonderful food. Cheers!
It works for me when I’ve juggling priorities around the house for sure! It has its place in my collection no doubt. Cheers!
@@TheBrewQ Without a doubt. I love the set it and forget about it alot. I do the same thing!
First, it's great to see you! Second, I can't believe the pool is still opened in November!!! And third, is there anything you can't fix or build?

Mine does thing. Did you ever figure it out. How did you fix it so I can fix mine.
Figure what out? Bad probe so I swapped it out.

Tried changing the controls
Did you try to recalibrate the sensor?
I did not
What do you use to clean the inside of the grill?

Only ONE screw holding my old one in. However it’s so gummed up it won’t come out. Can’t turn screw and bolt won’t turn either
You could try a little degrease or dawn dish liquid and a toothbrush to scrub it off
@@TheBrewQ thanks- the WD40 didn’t do it.

I just used dawn spray, and a steel brush. Worked like a charm.
My RTD is located in the bottom how do I get to it
Not sure. What model traeger is it?
