Hi

Ok
Wassup?
Hoodwinked blew my fucking mind as a kid. It was the first time I saw a story go against my expectations and do something completely different. I had no idea what a plot twist was before watching it
SAMEE I REMEMBER THE GRANDMA AND THE WHOLE THING WITH IT BEIG LIKE A MURDER SCENE IT WAS SO GOOD LMFAO AND THE BUNNY THO-
legit all in all i could never find the name of this animation LOL
This was my first experience with a story told through multiple perspectives that intersect and meet together at different points and it’s so much fun
Yeah, not to mention there were parts which made me laugh absurdly hard, a masterpiece for kids this is!
Yeah probably explain why iv seen it so much myself 😅
I watched him with my little brother and even being older I enjoyed it, it's one of those you never think about
The fact this was made by people who aren't experienced with animation and with a 8 mil budget, it was a banger

Dude, Literally my words, I remember the movie but didnt saw how bad quality it was as kid, I was watching it more than 5 times as kid, Because.. i dont know?
a certified hood classic
Same xD
I agree
Hoodwinked is an excellent example of this one basic fact in filmmaking: when it comes to audience satisfaction, audio matters more than visuals. Good voice acting and good music and good sound can cover a multitude of animation sins (not all of them, but a good few of them). Meanwhile, good animation isn’t likely to keep the audience in their seats if their ears are constantly being bombarded with horrible voice acting, downright obnoxious music, or just overall bad sound design. (That being said, good writing is also really really REALLY important to, but I just wanted to point out this fun little fact. Okay bye.)
Cat's don't dance for me, except the voice acting makes up for the annoying MC and corny moments instead of animation
Loved Hoodwinked. I feel like its become a cult classic for ppl that were able to get past the less than glorious animation.
Btw, they made it easy to figure out that the bunny was the culprit. The director(s?) wanted kids to be able to follow it. He said that during one screening he heard the kid in front of him resact to the reveal by saying "i KNEW it". Which made him happy
Also, you underrated hoodwinked.
It has to be said: a good story can save bad animation, but good animation cannot save a bad story.
Berserk 2016 and 2017 animation could not save Heavenly - forged storyline :/
"Bad animation doesn't meant it's gonna be bad. if there's a good storyline it will be good."
turning red (in my opinion) is a prime example of that
tell that to demon slayer.
@@halamadruuid2380 the argument is not bad, it's ok, it's enough.
ok hoodwinked is completely iconic and ahead of its time. not only that, disney and pixar both have never had a film like that because they're so glued to the same formula.
Treasure Planet and Megamind are Disney/Dreamworks movie and they were definetely ahead of their time tho.

@@grayski3324 This pretty much.
Lol yeah
Yes though I never thought the art style was to bad
Such a funny movie
I just love how this movie just makes so much more sense as everyone tells their part of the story, such a good movie.
I think about hoodwinked every now and again and watching this video tons of moments just surfaced in my mind, like the set up of "I don't drink coffee" and then eventually wolf just looking at the horizon "what have i done" as well as the slowed down recording of twitchy just being a completely articulate normal voice.
the constantly changing POV'S that all culminated into one storyline that made everything "weird" from the individual stories make complete sense was ahead of its time
Have you ever seen Akira Kurosawa's "Roshomon"? Its a Japanese movie from the 50s and it's very similar.

its a crime that this movie is rated so badly. i'll never forget watching this movie for the first time as a kid, its a shame the sequel didnt live up to the first one
It's a shame they decided to retread the twist villain routine when it was clear the had already perfected the trope in the first one.
The crazy thing is the animation budget for the sequel was much larger... and the animation was somehow far worse! The first one stands alone, a triumph of independent filmmaking. :)
THERES A SEQUAL?!?!
Yes and it SUCKED.
I know right I wonder what the sequel would have been like if the animation was better and they did the twist villain again. Because I think they would have made a good twist villain if they actually tried to make the sequel good. who knows the twist villain could have been better then the rabbit (I forgot his name) in the first movie. maybe change the script of the movie to because I am probably the only one who didn't like the script. So basically the sequel was 💩 to me. But let's be real here what would the sequel be like if it was good and had people really trying to make a good sequel. A hated it as a kid, saw it dub and it had a lot of pandering
I remember my mom buying this movie on dvd. Presumably she thought it was a kids movie due to it being animated. I feel the same way. I really liked the movie as a kid and to this day I honestly have good memories of it even though I realize that the visuals aren't what I believed hem to be when I was young. But they get the point across and they tell the relatively complex (for a kid) story in a plenty adequate and entertaining way!

Hoodwinked is the kind of movie you can’t hate on. You know exactly how cheesy and wacky it’s gonna be from the poster. we have to remember this predates high definition TV, so watching this on an old CRT makes the bad textures and details less noticeable , and considering the budget was one tenth of some contemporary films , it was pretty good for its time. thankfully the story, humour and songs are strong enough to distract you from the basic visuals. I have watched it so many times I can probably recite most scenes word for word.

This is exactly that movie for me too! I remember first seeing it in school when I was a child, but we ran out of time so we didn't see it till the end. But I remember having laughed at the goat, the squirrel and the schnitzel song like never before, and persuaded my mom to buy us a DVD of the movie (this must have been pretty soon after its release).
Kind of adding to that nostalgia and the fact it was basically the Sharknado of children's animations but with an actually epic story, the DVD was flawed, and after just passing the halfway point, the movie got stuck. We weren't able to get a new DVD of the same movie, as the store didn't have any, but got another animation I can't remember. Having built a legendary reputation in my mind, I was devastated I just never could see all of the movie.
After a few years, the movie got pushed into that back corner of my brain, and it only occurred to me recently to rewatch it on RUclips (wasn't a thing in 2006, I guess) after I saw this thumbnail. The perspective had changed of course, and there are some English jokes I just couldn't figure out from the Finnish dubbing originally, but boy was it a nostalgic trip! I remembered (obviously) that the hare was the baddie (Bad Bunny, hehe) but the Bond-style climax was new to me.
So this is basically the GOAT movie, pun intended, of my early life, above all the Toy Stories and Shreks. With a totally biased perspective I give the campy indie we-have-Shrek-at-home 10 shish kebabs out of 10 schnitzels.

Fun fact: That movie has an absolute cult-like following in Poland, because of the way the dubbing was written and directed. It made a lot of jokes that were not only great in context of the movie but also were references to typical polish humor.
Speaking of it, Polish dubs are such bangers that if you think that Shrek has a fanbase, you gotta see the Polish fanbase - people went absolutely mental over it because of the fantastic and clever dubbing we had here.

"DEE-NA-MITT-E!! MUST BE ITALIAN!!!"
@@youngdolo8 I know you're right as I did hear the scene in the video, but for the life of me I could've SWORN it was Dy-na-mi-tey.
Must be one of those Berenstain or Berenstein things.
Maybe a reference to the "Frah-gee-lay must be Italian" joke from A Christmas Story 🤔
This
The part of the song where it says “red is blue, it doesn’t make much sense but red is blue” is stuck in my head
i remember throwing up on the carpet from laughing so hard when i was like 7 and my mom banned the movie
I would banned this movie from my kids, if I have kids
@@_ian_wick_ you must hate good movies
@@c.9858 not that I hate good movies, I hate famliy and horrible animated movies like this
@@_ian_wick_ bruh this is a master piece of a film.
@@_ian_wick_ did you even watch the video lmao
I watched this movie for the first time at the library as a kid.
I still quote it to this day.
Why does it have better animation than Megamind 2. 😭😭😭
Hoodwinked is a literal masterpiece and was ahead of its time
Exactly
so true
"Over the Hedge" came out after this movie, though, so Twitchy is the original.
I like Twitchy better than Hammy in my opinion
Tho the Comic that Over the Hedge was released way before Hoodwinked
@@retrozaid1600 Honestly, it could even be a case of getting the same idea independently. Other than spasing out, and the energy drink thing, Twitchy and Hammy are rather different.
Valid argument however,
Nutty.
I watched this with my nephew on Netflix around 2015, and he was too young to understand the storytelling device. He kept saying, "Why are they showing us this bit again? We saw this bit already!" My mum and I loved it, we thought it was hilarious.
I loved this movie as a kid (didn't watch in english) and I only realised people didn't like it that much when I looked it up a couple months ago after remembering it... I didn't even think anything bad of the visuals
