Hey, just a tip, this monitor actually DOES do 144hz @ 1440p on both the HDMI and DisplayPort. However, you need to turn of Freesync Premium in order to use it.
Some people bought this at 21% off. Apparently if you waited till the end of the day (like around 7pm-10pm across the US) it went down an additional %4 on top during prime day, not bad at all, picked it up and won’t be disappointed!

Bought this monitor about a week ago and it has made me so much better at games. I see no ghosting, my gameplay is smooth. I really love this monitor and recommend it. Although, there is one question I have been wondering. Is there a speaker on the monitor? It has mute features but I don't hear anything.
Blast, now I can't make a decision. Its either the LG 27GL82A-B , LG 27GN850 or the ASUS VG27AQ. I have done lots of searching and I have narrowed it down to those three. I hope to grab my comp in the next 2 months. This is when I hope the new RTX 3800 cards and the new AMD CPU will be released.
I just bought this exact monitor for my Xbox series x I’m excited this is going to be my first gaming monitor. I’ve been playing on a 43in 4K tv at 60hz. I can’t wait to play on this monitor!
I appreciate this review. Picked up this monitor from a friend who only used it for about 2 months then got himself a 32" curved, crazy. Upgraded from an Acer 27, good monitor but only 75hz. About 7:25 he explains the preset / default color - lighting. I ran right into this. At first I was still impressed, then tried the gamer 2 preset and - wow. When you first get into the menu to me maybe being not used to it or nervous it seemed very easy to mistakenly just turn it off. Past that it is laid out nicely, not difficult to navigate. Paired with a 6700xt I am quite pleased.

Hey man a little mistake from you: The 144hz at 1440p is possible only if you’re using a display port. You were using the HDMI port and it wont output more than 100hz if it isnt hdmi 2.1 Correcting myself, it definitely does 1440p@120hz, but 120hz compatible games will drop the resolution to 1080p if anyone is wondering

it' so weird watching this one the same monitor, sort of I got the Ultragear 27 inch 800 not the 850, basically the stand and tilt are left out. it's so crazy going from a 60hz 1080p to this! can't find anything wrong with it, and I've been trying to....and I'm definitely getting 144hz at 1440 at 10bit, it's extremely customizable, and I don't know, just ZERO regrets lol, oh wait one, no USB on the back, that would have been nice to have one, but that's nit picking. oO tested many ways, including the UFO tests. Every game looks so good, from the PS4 version of Spider-man to Dirt 5 and FIFA 21 (the PS5 version) is beautiful. It does not have built-in speakers but I ordered a $20 soundbar from Amazon that works just fine.

So that means I do see the pixels, however it's not like I am able to see individual pixels, unless I actually put my eye on the surface of the display.

Small detail, color accuracy refers to how well tuned the monitor is from the manufacturer at displaying colors as they would appear in the real world. sRGB is just a measure of the monitors ability to display a certain range of colors. If you care about color, you'll still need something like a datacolor spyder to color correct in software. I know spyders are kind of expensive but I do my friends PCs too and everybody loves having all of their monitors look exactly the same (save for dynamic range- I can't make your monitor brighter or better at displaying black levels)

Just got mine today. 100% agree on the weird handcrank at the bottom. Should've just stuck with normal (-) screws. Didn't have a big enough screwdriver so used a penny. 😂
Can you use this monitor with an Elgato capture card? The spec says all ports have HDCP enabled. Which means you can not record games using this monitor.
truth is, you can't away from some relatively small amount of that in this price range. personally I notice zero indicators, unless you the strip spaceship/strip/hz test, then it's either one direction or the other...wish I knew the proper way to communicate what I want to explain, but the best thing I can say is, it's absolutely beautiful, and these aren't issues at all, unless you're hunting them down to prove they exist to some degree.

Well, my starting point was focusing more on buying the LG 27gn950. That has now been scrubbed as I can't find any retailers that stock that model in the uk. Currys started off with pre-order stock which went out of stock shockingly fast. Unfortunately, they have stated they will not be getting any more in stock. So that means no shops in the UK will be selling the LG 27gn950. I am now basically stuck focusing on my two other options, the LG 27gn850 and ASUS VG27AQ.
Just got this monitor for my series x. Issue I'm having is that when I go and put it at 1440p 120hz it lets me but grays out the variable refresh rate and only lets the variable refresh rate when it's at 1080p. Any fix to this?
Maybe it would be a good idea to mention the name of the monitor more clearly as LG has many 27" gaming monitors. Also, most conclusions made of the 4K monitors are wrong BTW as proven by the LG 27GN950.

@@GorillaEats777 Ps5 doesn’t support 1440 Resolution. Sony has recently said that they might put it in an update for the future. So I’d personally avoid this monitor unless you only want 1080P. Good luck
So, if I use this monitor on the Xbox series x and the Xbox has a hdmi 2.1 cable in it, will it support 1440p at 144hz other than 100hz with hdmi? Cause consoles don’t have the display port I’m pretty sure
I have the 24 inch LG Ultragear. The only complaint I have is the stand. I hate the two sharp legs as it eats up space. BenQs flat rectangular stands are so much better for space.
Considering this monitor but will likely be restricted to 1080p gaming. Is that noticeable or would you recommend rather stick with Smaller 24inch for 1080p? Great review by the way
Honestly great video, was clear and detailed plus great video quality. Quick question - Between this and LG 27GL850 which one would you go for? Assuming both are the same price. Aside from missing usb ports I couldn't really tell what the difference was between the two

Use DP to get 144hz in 1440p, HDMI 2.0 limits the top refresh rate at 1440p.

This is false. 1440p at 120hz is entirely possible using HDMI 2.0. However, you have to have HDMI 2.1 for 4K at 120hz

Yeah how is it? Are your running a 2.0 or 2.1 HDMI with it?
1ms is only on the "faster" mode but will introduce horrendous ghosting. Stay on "fast" and you're good. There's approx 4ms response time there.
Is 4ms response Rate good for Gaming? Can you feel the delay?

if you are o ps5 it does not support 1440p but if you set your console to 4k it will downgrade it to 1440p and still run 120hz

@@GorillaEats777 Ps5 doesn’t support 1440 Resolution. Sony has recently said that they might put it in an update for the future. So I’d personally avoid this monitor unless you only want 1080P. Good luck

So, if I use this monitor on the Xbox series x and the Xbox has a hdmi 2.1 cable in it, will it support 1440p at 144hz other than 100hz with hdmi? Cause consoles don’t have the display port I’m pretty sure

Monitor has a 2.0 hdmi port. The monitor plus console will be limited to 120hz at 1440p.

I have the 24 inch LG Ultragear. The only complaint I have is the stand. I hate the two sharp legs as it eats up space. BenQs flat rectangular stands are so much better for space.

Quick question - Between this and LG 27GL850 which one would you go for? Assuming both are the same price. Aside from missing usb ports I couldn't really tell what the difference was between the two
@@ConsumerTechReview Yeah! That helped a lot! I honestly would have thought the GL83 would be the better model seeing as it was released later. Also as pricing difference is very minimal or the same for both.

@@xzshadowzx I ended up returning my GL850 because the colors was way to saturated for my taste, even after trying to fix it. I prefer the more natural colors I see in the GL83

which ones better. the LG Ultragear 27 GN800,or the HP X27i. both are 1440p but the LG does 1ms and HP does 4ms.
