    Auxiliary Send FX are an important part of every DAW, and it's important to understand the benefits of them. It's a little complicated to set them up in Maschine, but take notes and you'll be able to add them to your projects or templates.

    You forgot to change the mix level of your send effect to 100%. You had it on 50%. This is important. You don't want the send effect be doubling the original sound because it will end up getting louder and distorting (as heard in your audio). All you want hear on the effects send is the effect. Other than that, great tutorial for a Machine noob.:)
    Hopefully they will change it so when you open an effect on a group it automatically changes the dry/wet balance to wet. Send effects should always be 100% wet or it will just cause headroom issues.

      Its a kind boring to do ! In ableton create an aux track and put à rack with compressor ed réverb and utility gain and let s go to the track or group you want !
      Simuler and better !
      For me maschine is useful for démo and send it in the daw !
      Not for mix and mastering and sure not for automation 😊

    It's impossible to stress enough how useful send effects are. Most people who have worked in full featured DAWS like StudioOne,Logic, Cubase etc know how great they are.
    I run into way more people in the Maschine/Akai groove box world who put an effect on each group.
    Just for the sake of cohesiveness, your longest reverb should be on every sound in your project to some degree. It's difficult to keep that consistent without sends.
    Great video.

  • @aristocratmusic

    Great Videos Jef, and well appreciated. I'm hoping you can help regarding a problem I've been trying to resolve. Using a Maschine Mikro MKIII and perform FX, while as a VST in a DAW. I'm hoping to get it working in Protools, although I do use Cubase, as I'd imagine the setup would be similar. So, I'm trying to use the Maschine VST in said DAW as I have the routing (1 instrument track -> 16 audio tracks) allowing wav instead of midi. When arming and recording tracks will dump in wave form. It will also register when muting/soloing a group or sample. Using perform FX (what I'm trying to accomplish here) on the Maschine does not register on monitor or recording. Is there a way to do this that you know of?

    • @seriousii252
      @seriousii252 2 года назад

      To be a little more granular. Creating 1 group for instance, 16 sounds. Then choosing a sound, adding the stutter FX to that sound. Now when it is played and laid out in Protools, I'm wanting to use perform FX (stutter) for that sound as it's recording in realtime from the Maschine VST to Protools.

    The aux send efx only works when the Sound mixer view is used to adjust levels (for example, to reduce the audio signal to zero and have the delay efx continue to trail). For those who use tone sound per group and use Group Mixer view to adjust levels (so that more than one group track at a time can be adjusted), it does not work. Turning down the levels to zero in Group view still allows for a signal to go through. This is a real issue IMO. Luckily, I do ambient and only use a few group tracks per song so adding a delay and reverb on each group/instrument doesn't kill the CPU but still, for other reasons...any workarounds/settings Im not thinking about?
