I've had a contract with a termite prevention company for over 20 years and I just realized that they have NEVER gone into the attic to check for termites. On the 10th year, they have NEVER treated the cement areas around my home. All these years, I've paying them for near nothing. Thanks for this video. It was very helpful.

@@ArrowPestService I appreciate it. Oh I have much to learn, many certificatations and licenses to get. I’ll keep you posted and thank you again for the informative videos on pest control
Thank you, I just had an opportunity to move into the pest control field and it was a welcome change from my 9-5 shop job printing t shirts (I absolutely loved my company, the owner, and the employees, I'm just not into that style of art). Anyways I just passed my core cert and followed it up by passing the 7A and 7B combo test. Termites are actually a tough nut to crack and there is ALOT of methods and many different types of foundations and houses. In my off time I am trying to learn/understand and be as I good as I can be to help our customers, have merit and integrity, and to make sure the job is done RIGHT. This is just 1 of many helpful videos and resources I've looked at to fulfill my aspirations with this job. I appreciate the time and effort you put into this video and I learned a lot. THANKS AGAIN!
Sounds like my house. I fixed much of the damage myself and saved a lot of money. I was told by my realtor I was taking a risk buying this home, what surprises me now is that the lender was okay signing off on it. I'm sure if an inspector would have seen the damage I did not only wouldn't the lender sign off on the mortgage but the city would have been called in and the house tagged for no occupancy until repairs were made.
I love that you show how to insect a house! It🎉 would of been better to show all bases of houses show a compilation of houses that have termites were you find them instead of a squeaky clean house mate!
We're not allowed to walk on the beams. We lay down a board across the beams so we can walk into the attic. It greatly reduces the chance of falling through a ceiling.
"Great video! I run a small pest control business in South Florida and I'm planning to start offering termite services soon. Your video was incredibly helpful. Do you also offer classes? I'm eager to learn as much as I can. Quick question: How do you inspect attics that are difficult to walk on? I'm 6'2" and sometimes it's just not possible. Thanks in advance!"
I want to congratulate you on your Pest Control business, that’s awesome! Keep learning and providing Great customer service and your business will continue to grow every year. Just know there will always be areas in the attic or crawl space that will be hard or impossible to inspect, do the best you can and inform the homeowner what areas were inaccessible and why they were inaccessible; this builds trust and integrity with them. Thanks for watching the video and I’m glad it was helpful to you! Reach out if you ever need anything!
Great to see you mentioned what type of termites you're looking for. Many of these young youtube pest channels just say "termites", which is due to their lack of experience. You got lucky with that attic being able to stand up hahaha
Surprised very surprised you didn't mention bathroom traps. Perfect place for them to get the water they need once they are inside. @@SteelersHub If you’re wanting to just get an inspection for you own peace of mind you could probably get a free inspection from a company but if you’re selling and need a report I would estimate anywhere from $85-$150. I hope this helps.
I’ve had so many companies come out to do an inspection and not one did such a detailed inspection as you show on this video, forget about doing the attic. Also, they’ve all told me something different. Wish I could find someone locally like you. ☹️
I heard Florida’s is getting smashed by coptotermi acinaciformis. I was at a seminar down the Sunshine Coast in Queensland last year and there was a rep there from Florida telling us about it and was saying that you guys were struggling to deal with as they’re a different sub species to what you are used to. Looks like the window in my half bath I could pull the rough opening apart with my hands. I had to build a temporary support wall and replace about 30' of bad top and cap plate, rebuild two window rough openings and full sister about 20 studs. You don't see the full extent of the damage until you get the Sheetrock off. Termites long gone as their mud cartons are all dried out. However I will be working on this house at least into next year setting up temporary support walls and rebuilding load bearing walls. Already have a liquid barrier and will do again in 2026.
I found a lot of mud tubes in the basement from along the post to floor joists. I destroyed them, but there are no termites inside the tubes. Can you tell me what happen ? The posts and joists are still solid.
@@MrPhimanh Here are some possible explanations: Colonies Moved: Sometimes, termites abandon their mud tubes and relocate if the conditions become unfavorable, such as changes in moisture levels or temperature. They could have moved to a different part of your home or property. Extermination or Treatment: If your property had been treated for termites in the past, either chemically or through baiting systems, the termites might have been killed off, but the mud tubes were left behind as remnants. Empty Tubes: Termites may construct tubes in areas that they plan to infest but then abandon them if the wood turns out to be unsuitable or if they face disturbances or predators. Termites May Still Be Nearby: While you didn’t find termites in the tubes, they might still be present in other parts of your basement or home, potentially hidden deeper within the wood or in a different area altogether. Given the presence of mud tubes, it’s advisable to have a professional inspection done to ensure that the termites haven’t simply relocated or that there isn’t another undetected infestation nearby. Early detection and treatment are key to preventing serious damage. Thanks for watching!
is this a standard termite inspection process? the reason I am asking is because I noticed termite inside my house and I called a company to check for a quote. A person came and asked a few questions and didn’t stay even more than 5 mins. i was bumped

I just had one of your companies here, Cape Coral Florida. he did not inspect anything. He walked around maybe 15 min then signed us up for a spot treatment 1400$ For weeks we’ve had dead termites and wings in abundance. So no doubt we have them. They are supposed to treat tomorrow Im planning to postpone til i know more. If you want to know who they are let me know.
You need a whole perimeter treatment, not a spot treatment. Unless those wings are all around a tree stump 50 yards away from your foundation of course.
Is no one going to mention the uneven wall poster board he put back at the 6 min mark lol. It was straight before he took it off the wall and put it back with it's left side too high. Come on man, that's just criminal lol. And yes the music was too loud when he was talking. On Davinci Resolve you can adjust the volume track for the music when editing the video. I'm sure he has noticed that and made the correct adjustments.
The awful rock n' roll stock clips playing over and over and over in the background doesn't add anything to this clip imo. Just my two cents. It's not needed, and it's so annoying that it's hard to sit thru the entire clip. It's not like this is good music or something.
