The way that different genres are blended in FFXIV'S soundtrack so seamlessly is ridiculously brilliant. The music carries a lot of the narrative weight instead of just being background noise like it is in other games. Makes you realize how bland the constant "epic orchestral" pieces of certain other MMOs truly are.
Soken didn't make this track though. The original Ascian theme which this theme draws from was composed by Nobuo Uematsu, and this arrangement was by Kenichi Kuroda.

My jaw literally dropped when I got into this dungeon, this is so cool! It's kind of interesting how Amaorot looks like Rapture, and this song has a sort of old radio 50's vibe when the glitching parts play. Totally made me think of Bioshock
When others were saying, "Ah Twining theme was a banger." "SoS Theme was cool." etc, i agree they are awesome. BUT when i heard this i was felt like i was in heaven. Yes. if i have a tier list of OST in Shadowbringers this is easily top 3 for me.

I still cannot believe that this one zone has 4 different versions of the same song and makes them all seem so different but refined in their own ways. Waited on doing this dungeon till the end because i wanted to see how they would handle it, and smoothe jazz with a bioshock aesthetic is a huge A+ from me.

tbh great gubal library is NOT jazz. its hardcore remix. and the hard mode ver, bibliophobia, which i love as well, is not jazz either. its contemporary classical. closer to the ghibli music. but this song here? listen to the use of bass, snares, and the freeform style of the piano. this is true jazz
