I love that you kept the piano intro because nobody else does and it makes this song so much better than it already was

@@deliriumhopps1173 It reminds me of Rivers In The Desert from Persona 5. It's like a pit spot, a change of pace, and it just adds another layer of emotion to the music. I think it's very well done.
To be fair, the piano intro is also missing from the official track.
Got this on duty roulette the other day, one of the tanks said "I have no memory of this" and the rest of the group was like "Bro..." "Too soon." I was dying.

@@toastee5421Fairly sure cuz it's the Final boss theme, besides it would fit, it has a very hype pace to it. I can picture it as either the first phase or the one to play after one of the major progression points. Like after Thordan's split timeline or After Blue screen in Omega.

But! Girlfriend and Boyfriend words in English (And Not just English) are used to describe, not just love but between two people on mental level, but also physical affection with desire to reproduction, close person for all your life.
The problem is what word girlfriend and boyfriend meaning was changed from 1863 - when it was first used as describing specific gender friends.
From start of 20 century, in books it was used to describe person who is your only heart person with who you share affection. :/ And this meaning stays till day.
I just wanted to say what word is not rely correctly used in this case.
And because of this it sounds very disturbing specifically if you are not living in 19 century XD

How? This is the most generic aspects in FFXIV there is a choir hitting in every musical piece to this game lol. One example off the top of my head that did this right was the battle with Shinryu. I favor more of a musical swell and Shinryu's theme hit all the right marks. The choir just hitting in the very beginning wasn't that crazy but the part at 1:28 is the best part.
@@rogerarteaga2665 you just don't get musical phrases then. The somber start with the piano has such a finallity to it that when the choir and strings hits it says everything we're feeling and more moving forward, the moment stays with you until it repeats and the short term nostalgia re-invigorates the sentiment every time it passes.

@@Spritus3241 I understand musical phrases. This adds no nostalgia as the theme really doesn't tie to others that much. You're all being hyped by choir when as it starts it isn't that impressive compared to the other pieces of music in this game.
This track lives in my head RENT FREE and own a penthouse.
It's so good that no matter when I hear it, I get chills and tear up.

This Theme is insanely good, I can't wait to prog this is Savage, ff14 just killing the ost everytime, just when you think how can they better it, they do.

It was, yeah.
This music gives me a sensation of impending doom, a fight for your life, if you die you lose everything, everyone dies, but it also sounds heroic and makes you want to keep going, fight no matter what, well its Soken so great music again.
This expansion's music has a lot of rock and techno, so this kind of music is a throwback to feel-good, very high fantasy adventure music. To me the music sounds like what one must feel when they are fighting for the right reasons. No inner conflict or doubt. A pure contest of arms and might for the sake of people you love.
...and then BOOM! *THE EXTREME STARTS PLAYING*
Btw official theme name is "Promises to Keep"

The piano part is actually its own separate song, titled 'Treasured Memories'.
The feels kicked in WAY too hard when i first went into this. This is High-Fantasy music right here!

One thing that's pretty cool about this piece is that after the first loop it plays the same piece just slightly different. You can really tell when you compare the two climaxes of the piece. Excellent job Soken!

Its actually something you learn/pickup (?) in music; no 2 themes/leitmotifs/phrases should be played exactly the same way, even if its written exactly the same. Musicians would make very slight variations. You can see this is most pop songs, where the 2 verse (after the 1st chorus) is very slightly different from the main/1st verse.

That ff8 'draw' skill animation, used to pull the magic out of enemies and bosses so you can inflict it on others.
i started to go numb a bit to this song after wiping to lions in savage but remembering that piano opening before that choir bursts out into song reminds me of how emotional and triumphant this music is
This fight was honestly an amazing finale with the ad phase/intermission Phase actually being a bit quite heart breaking but god dam I loved the music so much gave some serious Kingdom hearts vibes
The final boss is literally Gaia, mother Earth.
Actually Gaia was the Titaness of Earth... She was banished alongside all titans like with Chronos. She wasn't a destructive force but rather a too natural one. She thought all manking creation was tarnishing her earth which is why he was against humans as well... But after Zeus Poseidon and Hades defeated the titans she went to the *underwolrd* just to observe what the world became ...

When a boss theme opens with a calm piano intro, you know it's gonna turn around and kick you in the nuts

I literally cried while completing dungeon 😢😢 I was dark knight, crying at how beautiful their relationship and love between two girls was while I was being shoved away by enemy's attack.
Nothing is more intimidating than a white mage that has her casting bar hidden but still can still slidecast perfectly. Even if it's on the party list that shit's powerful lmao
The cast bar is off-centered to the right tho.

What an awesome journey ShB was. I truly loved the raid themes, especially this one. Hits hard on the feels since I left the game due to parenthood nowdays. Safe journeys heroes of light

both in a way. Most of the tracks in xiv are rearrangement or mixed from existing melody(Tho that doesn’t mean they take any less effort to make, probably even more)

It’s an original, but I could swear I’ve heard a lot of the motifs from elsewhere. The opening strings/choir sound really similar with A Land Long Dead (The Burn).

I like this fight pretty well thematically. I was kind of hoping more of a reference showcase like with Omega or Alexander Prime but in a way this was a pretty refreshing change of pace.
I do like those big reference climaxes but, the more I think about this and how incredible and jaw-dropping it is thematically, aesthetically, emotionally; the more I'm glad they've embraced freedom for more original designs and themes.

TBF this is a Nomura original design so it wouldn't surprise me if Soken did this purposefully, especially if this is like I think Gaia's theme.

You're right! This storyline features a mix of both final fantasy 8 and kingdom hearts.
That's why Gaia looks different than the rest of the NPC because she was designed similarly to Kingdom Hearts characters and The World Ends With You.

I don't know if this is just me, but i really hear in the theme that the heaven he wants to build is very much a bastardized version of a heaven.
Using light and shadow not to be alive, but to encapsulate a dream.
This is so artificial that to attack us, he has to resort to use the primordial we recreated.

It's because the note progression from 0:35 to 0:39 are the same notes that play in the beginning of the orchestral version of KH's Simple and Clean.

Darth Xelion yea pretty much this, they did it for most of the songs with chants. Knights of the round, invincible, shinryu, from the heavens, ultima. I’m interested to see what the lyrics will be for this one.

Gotta love raids.
Has some parts that are somewhat meh, but it has some s+ tier parts that if expanded upon would make this like top 3 songs. FF 14 music in general could be 100% masterpieces but just fall short and end up being like 90%. Parts I find meh are 0:49, 1:14 and 2:06 (2:06 if it kept going and faded out then continued it would be amazing). And just go harder in general with the vocals and vocal range.

Badass boss theme. Sounds regal but at the same time heroic and intense.
This is great, because you don't loop the song. I find that many of the uploaders for these tracks make their videos 10 minutes long (probably for ads?) but after 5/6 minutes it just starts looping and stops being fun to listen to. Great work!

You say "only" but the final raid of the final tier is effecitvely the "final boss" of the expansion.

@Sypha Flowen Thordan and Nidhogg are literally the star villains of Heavensward. That's as stupid as saying Garuda and Titan aren't iconic enough for an ultimate. And what the fuck are you smoking to think the current ultimate pattern of level 50 raid > level 50 trials > level 60 raid would then lead into the level 70 raid? If theyre following a pattern the next ultimate is going to be the Warring Triad and/or the Dragonsong war.
