What is your favourite 22LR Ammo?

My favorite is Federal Gold Medal Match 900B, made in 1992. The US shooting team won in Barcelona (summer Olympics) in 1992 with this ammo. I lucked into some of this a while back, and it shoots better than anything I've tried. Even in my 10/22, I have shot some 10 shot groups in the .2's. Good video. Thanks.

My new favorite that I discovered works best in my Ruger Precision Rimfire 22LR is Norma Tac-22, Amazing results at 35 to 50 meters so far.(10 shots within a 5 cent piece)
I have tried ELEY match and I found that it had very similar results to Norma for a lot less.
Also I found my friends CZ 22 loved it as well.
At this current time I purchased the Norma Tac-22 for $14 a box would highly recommend
Great video as well by the way.

My 10-week old Buck Mark Contour seems to like the CCI's (SV and Minimag), followed by the Aguilas (SV, Pistol Match), RWS Pistol Match and Norma Tac. Well it eats up everything I feed it though, but these jump out in terms of precision.

Also, most of my match chamber rifles say do not use Stingers! The case is longer with a smaller size lead bullet to keep it the same size as a regular 22lr cartridge 😮
    Good video 😊

Thank you and wow I had a look and just seen the difference and I did not notice the different case sizes.

@AussieBenchrestShooting crazy isn't it? 😳 They put more power in to get that high velocity, I assume. It's not good for match chambers. Regular rifles are fine, though. Just wanted to mention so nobody tried to use them in a match rifle and get a surprise lol. 😉

Years ago I had a Remington 54S 22. I never saw a sporter rifle that would out shoot it. At fifty yards it was almost hole through hole on sand bag rest. My favorite ammo back then was Federal Gold Metal Match. I understand now that the Federal ammo is next to impossible to get if in fact one can get any. None of the ammo you listed would out perform Federal in my rifle.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the Remington 54S! It's impressive that it performed so well, especially with Federal Gold Medal Match ammo.

Right now, im enjoying SK Standard Plus, decent improvement over CCI Standard Velocity. Right now im waiting on SK Rifle Match to be delivered, have not tried it. I've never shot any Eley, but i think I'll try it at some point. What currency do you use in Australia? Thats insane pricing on ammo! The SK Rifle Match im waiting on was $120.00 for 500. I thought that was high! Hopefully people's wages are high enough that its not a big deal!😮😠🤬

Yes I agree SK Standard Plus is much more of a improvement over CCI standard. I honestly do not see much of a difference between standard plus and rifle match in my rifles but then again every rifle is different and you might see a huge improvement. In Australia we use Australian currency and now ELEY match is $36 a box which is insanely expensive. I haven't checked the price for rifle match but we were paying $150 Australian for 500 about six months ago. Everybody is finding ammunition extremely difficult to purchase at the moment due to how expensive it is

@AussieBenchrestShooting that's not too bad. I just spent 120 for 500 Rifle Match, included shipping!🙄

Orb of my cz 457’s as well as the Bergara b14r shoot cci sv far better than the eley match , at both 50 and 100y but as mentioned each rifle is different, I can get the cci here for $3.89 box of 50 the eley match is $21 per box of 50. So it’s a no brainer cci sv wins ,

Hello Alan, i have 4 22lr. Lapua and Sk it is better for my rifles. Lapua polar the best in 3 rifle. After the Sk long Range, long Range and Biathlon sport. I think when a gun like a brand i try this brand. Have a nice day

    • @BenchrestMarksman
      @BenchrestMarksman  9 месяцев назад +1

Yes that is exactly right Once your firearm finds particular ammunition It likes it always is best to stick with that brand and then you can start experimenting with lot numbers and velocities to fine tune. I know my p94s Sako loves Eley Match 1060fps.
