So funny you did this today. I was JUST wondering this past weekend if I couldn't just coil bind one of my current journaling bibles like you've done at staples with the 100 day devotionals. Thanks for posting 😊
Oh, fun! I love my Cinch machine but never thought to use it this way. Fits perfectly with a project I've been considering. Thank you! Your Bible project turned out beautiful. Love your fabric choices for the covers.
I'm looking forward to your videos on watercoloring and lettering. I've been wanting to try using watercolors for more than just background color in my journaling, so I cut up some watercolor paper, hole punched it and put it in a small 3 ring binder to do some practicing. Just needing some inspiration to try out actually painting in it now. You always have such inspiring ideas! I do like this idea of DIY coil binding too.
This is so crazy I did this exact thing last Saturday with the exact same bible except that instead of coil binding it I just separated all of the books and rebound them separately so I could use them for bible study!! Great idea especially with an interleaved bible.
LindseyDecor aww thanks, I honestly couldn’t afford the esv scripture journals that I’ve had my eye on since they came out so I decided to make my own 🙈🤷🏻♀️ I love your concept too though, this would be a great investment if you want to continually fill up bibles!
Also if you do anymore projects like this I would suggest a good utility knife instead of an exacto knife. The larger surface area and added pressure makes big projects go much quicker.
Just this week I decided I wanted a looseleaf Bible. I looked on Amazon and you can find them but they are pricey and the comments said that the paper was real cheap. So I bought a 50 cent ESV paperback Bible at a thrift store. Cheap crap paper. I took it apart. Then yesterday I took it to Office Depot and had them copy it onto 24 lb 8 1/2 x 11 copy paper. They had to go from 2 sided to 1 sided so I could add sheets. I plan on hole punching them this week and buying some good binders. It cost about $75 for Office Depot to make the copies but now they are one sided and I can run it through copiers or scanners if I want to do it again. (I think it would make a wonderful gift for a Bible studier.) So I paid as much to get it copied as you did for the spiral bound and you bought a new interleaved Bible. I think I prefer a binder. But I'm excited. I would suggest buying a Bible with better paper as it is tough running that thin paper through a copier feeder.
Thanks for this video. I've had a cinch for awhile but haven't used it very much, but now you have given me ideas. Love that you used fabric for the covers. They are beautiful. So enjoy watching your videos.
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I bought a coil binding machine with coils at my local thrift store for a steal at only $15 & didn't quite know how to line up a second set of holes so I haven't used it yet. Now I know, thanks to you!
I'd love to be able to do something like this. When I study it can take a couple of days to do 1 scripture. I might break it up into 66 individual books. But everything I have in mind, it would be great. Thank you for testing it out and figuring out the nail biting portions of the process.
Thank you for doing this! I have a cinch and have thought about doing this before I have deconstructed bible studies to make them coil bound but but was afraid to try the bible. Fyi - you can buy coils in various sizes that aren't cinch branded online way cheaper and with much more variety you could probably find a size large enough for the old testment and they also sell spirals that will fit the cinch too. Anything that has a 2:1 ratio for the whole spacing will fit. You do have to buy in bulk but of you plan on binding lots of things go for it!
I think you did a great job doing this project, I tried cutting into my 100 days and it was a disaster:) I applaud you for having the courage to do this. It turned out wonderfully.
They turned out amazing! Love the fabric pieces you chose! Looking forward to your watercolor tutorials. I bought 2 interleaved Bibles from Christian Book at Christmas because the sales were so good!
This was amazing! I would love to do this but a bit nervous trying it on my own! I'll definitely keep the video to refer back to if I decide to try this! LOVE LOVE LOVE how yours turned out!
Depending on the pitch of the holes, the proclick spines might be a good option. I like how easy it is to move/switch things out if needed. Such a good idea to try this with my disks! Now, to wait and see if the price drops some more while filling what I have, or jump right in as usual. I kind of feel silly for passing on an interleaved bible when it was about 10 dollars. It might be time to make more booklets to practice trimming things better. But I guess that is what a trimmer is for. Time to wait and see what happens. I really need to focus and work on what I have. Though the rebinding has me thinking about an almost never-ending journaling bible. Hmmm I wonder if I still have the board like stuff... I got a pack, and if you have use for it, I would be more than happy to send some to you... one of these days. I mean, chocolate doesn't really expire, does it?😅
@jor771572 I apologize for my free content not being up to the standards of a fully produced network show. I hope you are able to find some useful information in it and you can always increase the play back speed if you are short on time 💕
I have the hardcover like Cristin's and have been debating it since I saw hers. But I'm nervous to try because I do have 100 entries in acrylic in there from one of the 100 days journals!
Is it too late to uncinch and then cinch all of the OT poetry books together? Job Psalms Proverbs Ecclesiastes and Song of Solomon? Would be logical and give more room in the OT section. Wonderful demo. Thanks and hugs! Blessings.
I think your adhesive issues are due to using the matte gel medium as the glue. For paper and fabric, PVA glue would be better. No bubbles or anything. Its what is used for bookbinding. If you have a paper source store nearby its half the price as the ones on amazon.
This is such an awesome idea! I’m wondering how the Bible pages have held up to being turned against the coils. I would really love to do this with my journaling Bible, but I’m worried the pages will begin to tear.
I unfortunately haven’t created in it yet so I’m not sure how they’ll hold up. Though I have found them to be fine in my coil bound Illustrating Bible. I’m just sure to turn a few at a time to get to the page I want vs turning a large section at a time.
The Cinch machine will only go up to 1.25” from what I can see but I think you could use a larger spiral wire instead of the coil and then just use the machine to punch the holes.
This is so cool. My only question is the setup... you stated that you put the Psalms and Proverbs together. So my question is, for the remaining books of the old testament, did you just leave them attached to the old testament?
Maybe someone already asked this... but I can’t find 1 1/2 coils nor 2 “ nor do I know if I can find them will this binder accommodate the larger sizes? ( it’s a bit pricey it worth it if it goes larger) The Illustrating Bible’s are 2 1/2” coils...thanks doll!💕
I want to bind the book of Luke that I purchased in December. According to what you are saying I’ll not only have to break up the OT into Psalms & Proverbs but the Law & one for Prophets to have the freedom to add any ephemera. Hmmm 🤔
You could cut down and add the pages in as you are binding it. I wouldn’t try and open the coil and add them later on. You could try punching the holes in extra paper and then cutting slits into the holes so that the page can just pop into the coil but it wouldn’t be as secure.
wow that's pretty cool! do the coils feel pretty sturdy? i tend to shy away from double coil since they tend to come apart but I really want one of these machines. I think they also have standard spiral options, too, right?
I do but it still isn’t super flat when it starts getting stuffed with dimensional items. I like the flexibility of having it coil bound so I can flip it to just one page being flat on my desk.
If you take the book to a fedex they can cut the book/adhesive off for like $2 after tax. We have a bible study group that comes in and they get all of the books bound.
I so much want to buy the plastic coils for my books and don't understand how to buy when it comes to that pitch which I dont understand. What is the pitch of this machine so that I can buy the right coils on amazon. What would you buy? (not wire) for this machine. Please dont explain the pitch method to me because I don't get that.
I bought the we r memory keepers cinch machine on Amazon “used like new” for 59.00 So it’s a waiting game to see when another one shows up. So far I’ve had really good “luck” with used like new items. NEVER get used/acceptable they are rubbish. I also found coils in bulk. If you have someone you can split an order with, they’re great option.
If you can’t invest in the machine or do the cutting, I’ve had 800 and/or 200 page textbooks cut and coil bound at Office Max/Office Depot for $2.00-$5.00 per book. Very affordable and no stress.
"I just want to use this one for watercolor." It is not a canvas, it is the Word of God. Having a variety of Bibles for different art forms is so sad. It is such a waste... 😢 How about rather distributing Bibles amongst people who can't afford it and using canvas, notebooks and art journals for their intended purpose?
I have multiple videos where I share how this process has greatly increased my study time in my Bible. My artwork is a form of worship and is always secondary to the study of God’s Word. You only see a small glimpse into my life through this channel. I have given away lots of Bibles in my offline life, offer free Bible studies to my local community, and have served in a variety of ways (not that I need to explain myself to a stranger on the internet since it’s all done for the glory of God). Your engagement on this video (though negative) is much appreciated since the income from this channel allows me to continue to serve my sisters in Christ.
@@LindseyDecor I apologize, Lindsey. My frustration isn't directed at you personally, but at multiple RUclipsrs who buy Bibles like I would buy notebooks/sketchbooks to use for art. It just seems like such a waste.😢 I should just steer clear of certain types of videos, I think.😔I've watched some of your other video's and you do great work. Blessings.
3yrs late… but this video is right on time for me! Thanks girl 🫶🏼
You're so welcome!
So funny you did this today. I was JUST wondering this past weekend if I couldn't just coil bind one of my current journaling bibles like you've done at staples with the 100 day devotionals. Thanks for posting 😊
I’m not religious at all but this is perfect. Something I can make for friends and loved who are religious. Thanks for this tutorial.
So glad you found this helpful!
Aw that’s so sweet God bless you love so kind😊💕😘And remember Jesus loves you
1st time I’ve seen that machine…now I gotta get me one…lololol…I absolutely loved it
Oh, fun! I love my Cinch machine but never thought to use it this way. Fits perfectly with a project I've been considering. Thank you! Your Bible project turned out beautiful. Love your fabric choices for the covers.
Fantastic! Our bible journaling group were discussing this for a while and now you have demonstrated it so nicely. Thank you.

Fabulous!! Goodbye Staples!! I can’t wait to try it! All my bibles will be coil bound from now on! Thank you LindseyDecor I feel FREEDOM ring!!🤣💕

What a great idea! I’m glad I ran across your video. Having it coil bound certainly makes it easier to lay flat to read.

Oohh thats right! Your so smart! I hadn't thought about that! Hmmm
Well thank you, I will now bind every single bible that comes into my line of sight!

I love this !!! Could do a video on the adhesive?
Awesome, thank you for doing this. I have had this Bible on my shelf for a year and done nothing with it. This idea is amazing, I will be trying it
I’m glad this was helpful!

She had some entries in hers when she did it and it worked okay. I just think you’d run into problems if the page was chunky.
Thanks so much for this tutorial!! Such a fun project!

one of the unique and greatest innovations or latest DIY idea I have ever watched. Love it- From India

Very neat. Love this idea.
(edited) darn, this is the more fancy wire bind. was hoping for the simpler coil binding (like a long spring)...
You could just as easily add in a “coil” rather than “wire” bind 🤷🏻♀️
Love this idea! If they did make coils large enough to do the bible as a whole, would you have done that or still sectioned it?
The Cinch machine will only go up to 1.25” from what I can see but I think you could use a larger spiral wire instead of the coil and then just use the machine to punch the holes.
Where did you find that super cute fabric? So awesome! Thanks for sharing!
They are all from Hobby Lobby
Such a brilliant idea 💡
Would love to see the watercoloring in this 💞
I took my bible to Staples and they cut the binding off. It was a perfect cut.
Great tutorial 👌
Wow! I am so doing this!!!!
This is so cool. My only question is the setup... you stated that you put the Psalms and Proverbs together. So my question is, for the remaining books of the old testament, did you just leave them attached to the old testament?
Yes, Old Testament is all together, Psalms and Proverbs together, and then New Testament all together.
These are so cute. I must invest
I love this! Such a great idea!
TYFS. 🥰
Waw never seem that....soooooo beautiful
This is amazing! I love your videos and you crack me up girlie!
I’m glad I can bring a smile to your day 😉

I believe that it will only bind up to 1.25” but you could use a spiral binding and use the machine to punch the holes if you needed something larger.
I want to bind the book of Luke that I purchased in December. According to what you are saying I’ll not only have to break up the OT into Psalms & Proverbs but the Law & one for Prophets to have the freedom to add any ephemera. Hmmm 🤔
Someone else suggested breaking up the poetic books together with Psalms/Proverbs which would probably work well also.
Are there coils that could coil a thick bible like that? I wouldn't want to separate in pieces. Wondering because it would be awesome 👍.
It's possible but I don't know that they would work with this binding machine.
Can you show us how you could add pages if we wanted to do notes or do thicker pages with die cuts
They do feel pretty sturdy once I made sure that they were overlapped. I do think they sell the spirals also but I didn’t try those.
what an amazing idea!
Interesting. Turned out so cute! Do you not crack the spine when you get a new book, or Bible? It will make it lay flatter.
That’s good to know, thanks!
I’ve only ever bought the We R Makers brand but a Google search says that the machine has a 2:1 ratio from what I could find.
I love it!
What size are your paper and cover and what size is the coils the smaller one?
Could I reuse the original bible cover on the new spiral bound bible? Or not because it’s leather ?
You certainly could try but I don’t know how well the Cinch Machine would punch the holes through it.
This is shocking but so clever!
Beautiful,❤
💜
So I don’t get mixed up I punch all one way at one time and then I Adjust for the rest
That works too
Awesome!!!
Ah the days when we could use coupons at HL, I miss those days
I know 😭
Love how this turned out! 💕

Wow, this was cute.
Is anyone selling these? Or making custom ones?
I haven’t seen anyone but you could check Etsy.
SOOOOOOOO COOL!!!! :)
Amazing.... you are... 💕🤭💕🥰💕
😍😍😍😍

Thanks! I’ve had some journals bound that way but wasn’t sure how’d they do with a Bible 🤔
LindseyDecor Good point! The paper is thinner and more delicate.
this is not something I can do....just not good at all with this kind of stuff...I got stressed just watching you, glad it turned out so well
It really isn’t too hard when you take your time and think out the steps 😉
Would you be willing to make one of these for me? I will provide the bible and obviously pay well.
