Thanks so much man, this really helped me out. I had gotten better at getting more damage, followed your guide to the tee, but sometimes rng or other things are out of whack. Beat him on phase 3 by doing my last MP to a bunch of Firaga, didn't get a second immaculate end for some reason, thanks again!
I don’t typically comment, but this guide helped me through this fight. I used Cloud instead of Barret, but followed a lot of the same principles. Thank you!
All really good stuff in this guide! A extra tip for some players who have it. Carbuncle saved my butt when he used his insta kill move. I summoned him just before, he killed my team, carbuncle received everyone and they had full limit breaks and used them all at once.
It took me nearly 15 hours of trying to take Weiss down but finally got a consistent strategy. Follow this guide to stagger him as he enters phase 2. Put gottergamung on cloud (Barrett in his case) and build up his and tiga’s limit. As you get to the last 1/3 of stagger use both. He will be 1 hit from stagger in phase 3. Use a quick firaga. Then he can easily be killed in the 2nd stagger.
Life savior!! Tried these other videos didn’t work. Yours came in clutch!! I wasn’t doing enough damage but I was able to get another stagger in and thank god he went to nerf gun stage cause I just finished his with firaga. Finished around 8 minutes. Anyways thanks for the video
Thank you for the guide. I based my play on this and finally beat him. I removed the revive skills though since every time someone died it ended badly anyway. So used it for more mana instead.
I must've spent almost 80k gil trying to defeat him before finding this video. Following this strategy, I defeated him in one try. The idea to stagger him as he goes into phase 2, then timing Tifa's limit to fill his stagger bar to 80% going into phase 3 is genius. Thanks a lot!
From my play through against Weiss, I noticed that Tifa's limit break will always stagger Weiss in his 3rd phase. So save Tifa's limit until he goes to phase 3 and if he is almost dead, it should be a guaranteed KO.

Thank you so much for the guide! It proved more useful than I thought it would! To be honest though, I kinda hail mary'd it after he had less than 25% left, was in gun mode, and just staggered while standing right next to that giant ball of death. I had just obtained a second limit break for Tifa and decided to just go for it and it totally worked! XD
Thank you so much for this. I didnt execute it nearly as well as you did. I summoned carbuncle before he did his second instant kill attack and that saved me and got me the win
I did try and use this strategy but I didn’t have Barrett’s EKG cannon. Even without it I managed to knock down Weiss to less than a quarter of his health. This is definitely gonna be possible for me now. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for the guide. I understand how you're "suppose" to fight him now, but it's pretty bad when the game has to go this far to have a difficult boss. He's basically immune to everything, even damage, and nearly kills even max level character with two or so hits. The fact that people have had to come up with this cheese-it strat speaks volumes to the unfairness of the fight. It creates the greatest sin a game can: It's not fun.

OK, making progress, managed to land the Dolphin Stagger trick, Staggered him again but seems I wasn't skilled enough with my ATB management because I wasn't able to put it as much damage, and in phase 3 he recovered to nearly 60% had Barret and Tifa's Limits ready, Staggered him once more but wasn't able to kill him, so it went downhill from there. I can’t get this to work. He always phase shifts before I can stagger him in the 1st phase. I also can’t get Tifa’s limit break to fill up before he shifts. Usually I only get it about 3/4 full.
I had the same problem. He lets her get damaged a little from the basic attacks to build it. When I tried it I ended up in a series of attacks and dying while his stagger gauge was at 95% waiting for him to go to phase 2. That then fucked my stagger gauge, delayed firaga and the works and I couldn't get past 260 stagger %
@@trionaosullivan4152 I beat him with a different strategy. I used Barret, Tifa and Aeris. Put Refocus, Skill Master, ATB Stagger and ATB Assist materia on Tifa. She will have 3 ATB gauges which makes it way easier to get Weiss' stagger gauge up to 300%. Also equip the Gotterdammerung on Tifa so she starts with her limit bar half-full.
I just beat him blind using Cloud and made it through immaculate end with one person up. After checking how other people cleared your guide made me realize my run was scuffed. Still got him on the 3rd try though. Great vid!

That happened to me as well. That only worked for me once, all the other times he pulled his gun right after and Tifa’s limit break wouldn’t do anything to the Astaire bar.
This keeps happening to me. It's like there are no phases at all. He keeps bringing his weapon out and none of the attacks to stop the animation. Then he proceeded to use his one-shot kill attack which I survived but then he did it again not long after and well that's how my run ended. He;'s been doing this contanstly
@@AbyxGaming I respectfully have to disagree, there to many signs to say it would transfer, level restrictions, materia level restrictions when in the original they could go higher, limiting specific materia, not to mention how they made saves forward compatible, they’ve even done it in other games. I think they will take the final fantasy 13 approach. If you’ve played the original you can transfer select items and levels will be reduced but not completely but if you didn’t play the first part you can start from scratch like in 13-2. Square isn’t the type to piss off there fans and the amount of hours people put into the first part they wouldn’t dare. Also really like the video helped me get through this monster of a fight. I usually try to brute force it can do it sometimes but it’s took a little bit more stategy
@@morrisdennison8039 You have some valid points there, my man! I played 13 but never gave 13-2 a chance, but that sounds like a fair way to go forward. Let's see how they approach it!
@@AbyxGaming honestly i just wish they’d give us a date I don’t even care if it’s 2 years out. They also make me question if Vincent is gonna get a dlc.
I’m just gonna put this out there. Agree or disagree with me. But the old turn based was the best. They sold millions of copies. I get they are trying to capture a ADD generation but come on SQUARE your acting like you can’t make millions of this game without turn base. The bloated bosses taking 20 minutes to beat with what seems a million hp. I don’t know. I love games for story. Strategy. And story. I just loved the original game (ff7) so much. What an amazing game for 1997. But hey I beat remake too and like it sorta. But like if you agree with me. Cause I know I’m not the only one who has this opinion, lol.
I never thought they would pull it off, but the combat is phenominal. In the orginal FF7 you would wait for the ATB to build up the command bar. Every battle works the same way. In this game, the ATB builds up in real time combat. The player build it up with various actions and then you have to decide how to use the ATB. It engages the player into risk management, because you have to earn ATB commands. You can't wait for it to build up automatically. You also can't sit back and button bash your way through the game. You have to switch characters to allow for complex strategies. Theres also things in how you use real time combat to pressure enemies. It is the most fun I have ever had with a Final Fantasy game, and I enjoyed it more than action RPGs, like the Witcher and Assassin's Creed. Its so deep, its insane how they made this game. Even if you get the combat, theres different materia combinations. Even if you use someone like Barret to tank, you may intentionally take damage to build the ATB, and theres materia to help you do that. Then when you stagger the enemy you must build the stagger guage to a higher percentage. I'm so dissapointed FF16 won't use something similar to this and has instead opted for a single player action RPG.

This keeps happening to me. It's like there are no phases at all. He keeps bringing his weapon out and none of the attacks to stop the animation. Then he proceeded to use his one-shot kill attack which I survived but then he did it again not long after and well that's how my run ended. He;'s been doing this contanstly
To be honest though I wanna know how all this is gonna transfer to the next game I’m sure they will probably take away our super accessories
I think none of it will transfer. Or perhaps they will reset all materias you have to LV 1.

Cheap boss. Immunity bullshit!
