It’s amazing to see a “normal” person walkthrough with mistakes and all. I absolutely love the discounted magic casting :). Two more chapters and I can platinum this game! Thank you for creating this guide! For some insane reason I decided to try and beat FF7R on Hard Mode, and your guides really helped me, especially with the Hell House and Malboro fights. (I'm still too scared to fight the Pride & Joy Prototype, though 🤣)
Edits and Errors:
1. So my Pride and Joy runthrough is much sloppier than I would have liked, although I do complete it for what that’s worth. I HIGHLY recommend you complete this even if it takes a bit to get through because the Gotterdammerung is a great accessory we will be using for the rest of the walkthrough. Also, if you look in the video description there will be a link to a guide by a RUclipsr named Shinryu where he breaks down the speed run strategy for this gauntlet in a very clean and concise manner. It does take some skill and practice though, I personally made 2 attempts that both failed but after several hours of playing this VR mission I was just ready to move on lol. Perhaps I will try again at a later date as it does seem like a very reliable strategy after a bit of practice. I am sorry that this section of my walkthrough isn’t done as well as most of the other ones, I really tried to get good enough at this I could beat it without sustaining much damage but just wasn’t able to unfortunately. While I do beat it I understand if the manner in which I do isn’t satisfactory for people searching for a guide on it. I tried to give as much info as I could in my commentary and hopefully it was of some help to anyone searching for this. I neglected to go through my Materia build because it was one of several runs I had recorded and I elected to just commentate over it then move on with the guide (playing this mission repeatedly for the better part of a day had kind of grinded me down and I wasn’t up for doing another in all honesty lol.) Here is what I used though…..
Cloud:
Hardedge (Luck Up, HP Up, Refocus, ATB Stagger, Skill Master, ATB Assist)
Chain Bangle (Elementai--Ice, Thunder, Revival)
Fury Ring
Aerith:
Mythril Rod (Healing--Magnify, MP Up, HP Up, Magic Up, Magic Up)
Force Bracelet (Ice, Fire, First Strike, Lightning*)
Circlet
Barret:
Big Bertha (Elemental--Lightning, HP Up, Provoke, ATB Stagger, Skill Master)
Supreme Bracer (Steadfast Block, Revival, Chakra)
Champion Belt
*Note: In the Video I didn’t have Aerith equipped with Lightning, I gaver her Steadfast Block but it didn’t seem to make much of a difference in keeping her alive (ideally you will be drawing their attention with Cloud or Barret most of the fight anyway). When she died it was mainly due to a Tonberry or Umbrel Frenzy neither of which care about Steadfast Block. So just give her Lightning.
By the way the materia build for barret is kinda wrong since in your video there is time spell and barrier spell used during the fight with shiva

Thanks to you, completed both monsters of legends and top secrets on my FIRST TRY. Had all HP up, MP ups and magic ups fully levelled. Nearly lost on pride and joy because barrett ran out of MP to revive cloud, but somehow his MP regenerated by one (not sure why) and was able to eventually revive cloud!!!! Staggered him when he grabbed aerith and one ascension and he was gone easily.

I didn't finish the game on hard after beating Pride & Joy. Cut to a year later, I'm only getting back to it now. Thanks for the guide. It really helped me get the hang of things quickly. I'm also happy to see someone else using Fleeting Familiar. It has always been rather useful.

ive beaten the challenge using Shinryu's strategy, but i tweaked my setup a little bit, using a element +fire on my armor for the bahamat and p&j fight (i cannot beat bahamat before he summons ifirit, but with my element+fire on my armor ifrit now have no effect to you so you can just focus on bahamat)
i also add a cure and revive on one of my characters

I used dudes method but still had to kill ifrit, clear time first kill. 4:55.
Your guides are helpful but the ai is really bad and dies on me constantly...
