@@scottnewman1300 they're mutually exclusive. As for it not being the same thing, I've played hundreds of games since 97 and will continue to do so. What I can't do is have a faithful remake of the original game. Now you have a kudzu plot, padding, dlc infested mess that has no idea what it wants to be. Not even the writers care enough to answer the idiotic questions they raise with the new additions.

My mother has been a big fan of Final Fantasy 7 since it first came out on 1997 and she loved playing Cloud Strife she’s obsessed with Cloud and she’s been waiting for this remake for 5 years and I have played and it’s an absolute Masterpiece.

True, until then I had no interest in buying a final fantasy game or even picking up the 7 remake. But the fact that it was a 2020 game that's still basically brand new made me want to give it a try and today I first started playing and my mind has been blown by how amazing the game is. But idk if I should pick up the dlc or expansion bc i got the game free with plus and if I ever cancel it then there goes my access to ff7 remake

I've played Final Fantasy VII remake and The Last of Us II and I can say without a doubt Final Fantasy 7 remake totally worth the money and if you could only buy one or the other I would definitely recommend ff7 remake over Last of Us 2

I genuinely don't know how anyone who hasn't played the original game can remotely follow what the hell happened in the final hours of remake. The remake was a way for a whole new generation of people to experience the story of FF7, and they are probably assuming that this IS that story. It isn't.
Sephiroth is the final boss of Midgar? When we haven't been given a single bit of explanation who he is? That must've been great for newcomers. Oh, and he is aware of the events of the original game? Who is this game made for?

Also love the attention to detail in this game. Like Rude won't throw Tifa cause he has a crush on her. It shows so much love and dedication to the original, even with the slight changes making it not a true remake, it is a great example of what a remake should be.

Unreal Engine is amazing. I love how its free and alot of people just use it to make beautiful scene scapes with preset assets or custom ones. Now that Ray Tracing is implented in it, some of these environments people make are essentially photorealistic. Even before Ray Tracing, Screen Space Reflection and dynamic lighting you can still get close to photoreal. Those apartment demos are testament to how real that shit can look. I like loading them up in VR and showing my friends/family and watching their reactions. Simply Mind blowing.

I have played all of the final fantasy games 1-15 and FF7 is my favorite game of all time. I have to admit this remake reminds of why the og game is my favorite game in the first place. SO good!!

No Joe cloud got a “hand” job
Just a hand massage. It was an intentional play on words that gave subliminal messages of a sexual kind. Theres alot of these events in the original that are reversed: made to look like non sexual but is in the extremes.
This games subtext would make for a great hentai (very mature themes at least) and that probably exists already somewhere on the internet.

It’s great but honestly I didn’t realize it’s only a short part of the game… my favorite parts of ff7 when I was a child were discovering all the other worlds with the ship once you get it. Traveling all over the world was amazing.

I didn't realize how important this kind of take really is. Most of the reviews I've seen are from FF diehards, but this is the first proper review from someone who goes hard on the games while also having fresh eyes for FF. This goes a long way to proving that the changes achieved something good
SquareBraceX2 Well, he played FFXV. And probably some previous FF games, too. So, not exactly a "clean slate".

He's definitely no FF diehard, and he never touched the games that made the franchise great and defined it's perception among the core fandom
It really just shows how far standards have fallen. Especially for this series. It's definitely the best thing out of the trash that he's played from Final Fantasy but that doesn't say much.

I played the original years ago and loved the Remake. It's nice that there might be changes (hopefully positives) in the story, makes it less stiff though I do fear they may fuck it up due to the episodic nature of this. I didn't have positive experiences with episodic games, they usually start strong and drop the ball at some point. BUT the first game was amazing (despite some of its flaws) and I'm looking forward to the rest. Personally I found it even better when I replayed the original and came back to the Remake after to catch all the cameos and really compare the settings.

Honestly this was super cool, watching someone who's only other Final Fantasy experience was FF13+15, get to experience and fall in love with one of the best FFs of all time. The genuine excitement is so great to see in a newfound fan, gotta love it.

@@TheRealUcanUwill There are a lot of upset purist fans of the original who aren't happy with the story changes which is fair in some ways, but honestly ignore all of that and just have fun. Personally I love the new shit, i'm hype as fuck for part 2.
I was an old fan of it and i kinda welcome the change as the original game has TONS of plotholes explained in different media....if they can just make a full story with this one il,be satisfied

@@TheRealUcanUwill around 37 hours. Leveling happens naturally. Never feels grindy.
The Triple Tifa opening might be my favorite intro you guys have done since "Cold Noodle", or at least Godzilla PS4 - It was awesome. Also glad that someone else noticed the Wedge/Other Joe comparison. I kept thinking it playing the entire time.

Final fantasy has arguably some of the best music period.
If you ever get the opportunity to go to a Distant Worlds concert I cannot recommend it highly enough!

This, it really makes me sad and wonder wth happened with DQ11 because the music in that game was so subpar to the point of shocking how garbage it was. The music in this game is some of the best and rivals all the music from the glory days of Square as the SNES PS1 games.
I second this. Distant Worlds is amazing. Although fans tend to get a little roudy if a FFXIII track starts up in any capacity

That's how I did it with Dragon Age. Found out first that the two games were different , but they looked like what I would like, and which one they said was the worst.
so I played Dragon Age II first with all dlc's "still disapointed they wont sell the game with them" but loved it. Then went to the first then inquisition and have been a massive fan of the stories
since then. Even bought all the books. The old Final Fantasy VII was good but watched my son "Gaming Wren" play this, and I am real excited about it.
