Which Materia would you recommend subbing in for Cloud's Refocus-es. I'm oddly using Rechallenges to level up other Materia, and I hear you say Refocus isn't 100% vital. Also, some Boss Stagger guages fill slower/drain quicker than how your guide shows. Any tips &/or hints?
Dude man, I can't thank you enough for all your work. For me this game means everything. My brother and I played the original game to no end. He maxed out everything. 99 of every item drop, steal etc etc. Knights of the round for everyone I mean everything. We talked about this remake for decades. Well he passed away in May 2017 and I was determined to max out everything in this. Being nearly 40 and not as good as I used to be at gaming. Your videos are making it all possible, great job and thanks A LOT! Minor note, when I loaded this game up for the first time the music brought a tear to my eye. Hopefully this minor note will help you to understand just how much this means to me. Thanks again.

I'm excited too! I think we may see part 2 in 2022. They said they have the ground work pre made with character models and combat etc so now it's just the world building and other characters. So it shouldn't take them as long as this one did they officially said.

I finally beat this challenge. No joke, it took me about thirty or so tires and even the one fight I finally got the victory on, everything that could have possibly gone wrong went wrong, LOL. I made it past the leviathan clean, which caused me the most headache, and then got to the bash brothers, and freaking Ifrit was summoned! Somehow I managed to take them both down. It was a literal miracle. I used Tifa's starshower move, which caused Bahamut to get pressured/staggered rather quickly, and that move is what sealed the deal. I used Aerith's arcane ward, which I set in the middle of the arena and ran like hell to it before Ifrit was able to bumrush me and threw a weak Blizzaga at him, which pressured him quickly. Got to the Pride and Joy boss with little to no magic on all characters. Threw some quick lighting at the legs and threw done an arcane ward over Cloud and Aerith, which help out a lot. Near the end of the fight, both Cloud and Aerith got wiped, and somehow I managed to avoid being grabbed by the Pride and Joy on multiple occasions. I thought I was a goner but managed to stagger the beast and seal the deal! Longest post I ever posted on a video game fight, but this one gave me the biggest headache ever. I will go back and play through again because I want to get the win as clean because I felt as though the video game had mercy on me, LOL. I can't imagine how long it took people to figure this out. This is beyond difficult, but running through it multiple times, I am sure it will get me flawless.
I'm so glad you shared your experience lmao the way you explained it made me feel like I was there and I started sweating haha! Those moments are the worst but when you persevere especially like you did! It quickly turns into the best feelings ever haha. I'll take that win over my 3 minute win any day man. The game pushed you to your limits and you adapted. That's what it's all about

@@BltzZ sometimes i cant do enough dmg vs bahamut maybe 10 hp or so and he summons ifrit lol. Any tips for maximal dmg outpit with tifa?

Sometimes I wish we could have "REGROUP" skills from FFXV. That skill is so usefull to call other party member especially when dodging a big hit from enemy
Yup! Id love it to keep aerith far back and for her to stop walking to melee range on enemies lol
Honestly the AI should've been programmable like in Kingdom Hearts, getting Donald to hang back and making Goofy attack enemies with me so they played to their strengths was such a relief and I'm amazed that, that concept did not show up in this game where character placement is so key to executing some of the most potent techniques in the game. Definitely hope they consider adding that feature in the second game.
That's what I was hoping they'd do! Hopefully it will be the case for part 2. Alll great ideas man

You could but I don't know the success rate of this method with barret. Tifa melts the health bar down and barret doesn't come close enough to kill it before ifrit comes out
One more question broham do I need to have my weapons maxed out to do this?

I've commented earlier, but now I finally did it! Thanks for this guide! My tip for people that are trying: If you really struggle with Tifa's MP like I did, just give her an MP up instead of the parry. Rolling instead of sliding works well enough. You REALLY need her to be available at all times when facing Bahamuth!
Thanks to your guide and another’s I swapped around items and materia and finally managed to beat them all! Took like 40+ tries and quite a few hours, but the guide was a lifesaver!
Okay I just have to say. This took me 6 months I tried for a whole week at first and gave up but the only reason I never did it was because it didn’t realize how much I needed the fury ring and the first time with 3 fury rings I’m at pride and joy I’m so happy

The Leviathan tactic doesn't work for me, i do every step like you but at some point he does a big attack and starts diving and i can't do sh*t then.

Not a problem I just love making these videos for you guys :) that Barret infinite health build video I just posted is pretty satisfying to watch too be sure to check that one out also! When the other characters come out I imagine were going to be blown away. Imagine if we can swap party members out mid fight like FFX so we can have full entire combat!

No matter how many times I try leviathan keeps killing me. He attacks my party before they can pressure him.
I have everything maxed.
Then he dodges my following two thundagas by diving into the ground.

Try replaying Ch 16 garage section. I think it's the fastest way to grind materia ap.

@@keithmacdonald4857 I went for Gotterdammerung first before starting to play any chapters in hard mode. Having it makes hard mode WAY WAY easier trust me :)
But you can play the four 3-C soldier candidates challenges first to get 1 manuscripts for each character. Assuming your characters are level 50 and you got all none hard mode manuscripts, those four manuscripts will push all your weapons to level 6

Took me several tries but after watching your video and literally copying every single move of yours and your inventory strategy I finally got it done...
With my setup I was running the fight was brutal... taking forever and I barely got to the final boss 1 time after like 6 hours...

I finally did it! This took sooooo long. The only obstacle was surprisingly Leviathan which kept interrupting my Thundagas with one of his big attacks, but because of this video I was able to finally complete this and I’ll be able to finally 100% this game truly. I’ve finally finished this challenge thanks to you. However, I didn’t fully follow copy the materia and substituted ‘ATB boost’, ‘Luck ups’, ‘skill master’ & ‘refocus’ for some HPUps and revives on each character. I also gave Tifa (Time + Magnify) for the Pride and Joy fight!
My advice is to adapt this video strategy with your own style, that’s how I was finally able to win!

Finally! It was probably 40-50 tries before I finally got this down right! Leviathan was always the achilles’ heel and would screw up my rhythm....but I did it! Thanks for this upload, helped a ton!

Thanks! Finished this game a few months back, but am only getting around to platinum-ing it now, in anticipation for the upcoming DLC. This video was presented well and a tremendous help.
I tried this fight over 100 times and was frustrated beyonds words. I've always platinum'ed Final Fantasy on Playstation and I was really bummed this was going to be my first without being able to do so. This strategy got me the closet in all those tries but I just could never do it. But this morning a miracle happened. I finally defeated this freaking challenge. This is one of the hardest things I've ever done in Final Fantasy. This is probably the hardest FF platinum since 13 part 1(farming ignots from Adamantoises amirite?) But I did it, thanks to this strategy! The one thing that made the difference for me was using arcane ward at the very beginning of the Leviathan fight. This whole fight revolves around Leviathan, if you can smoke him cleanly, you've got a good shot. Beat Pride and Joy my first time seeing him but I was sweating!!!! One of the most satisfying Final Fantasy victories ever and I've been playing since FF 1 on NES!

To anyone working on this. As a side note, I'd like to mention that you shouldnt fret too much if Ifrit managed to get summoned. 1 Blizzaga followed by a Uppercut into Divekick Will melt him and you can get back to Bahamut.
Thanks for this guide! I been at this all day and finally got it after about 20 attempts. Never could get through Bahamut without him summoning ifrit though…then all went to hell in the last fight…ran out of MP with everyone and all teammates died except Cloud but I pulled it off with a hair of HP left! GOT THE PLAT!!🙏

This calls for an update in part 2 where you can issue movement commands to chars you are not controlling. Something like "keep a safe distance", "don't move", "follow the leader" and "attack!". I wonder why they didnt put this in part 1 🤷♂️

I’ve tried this strategy for the last week. It’s effective, but requires a high level of execution. Less experienced players will die often on Leviathan or Bahamut if they don’t kill the enemy by the end of the first stagger.
There are other setups that will produce a higher success rate, but will draw out the battle longer. It’s not my favorite, but putting elemental+ice on clouds armor and loading everyone up on HP Ups and MP Ups and weapons with reprieve will help people win this fight for the first time. I also set up Aerith with the rune armlet, healing carcenet, magnify+healing, and magic plus materia. It’s slow, but there’s a lot less stress if you’re having trouble getting past this fight

true. i struggled to even stagger him. and when i finally did, he had a tiny bit of HP left and started his death rain dance. my party dropped one by one...going in for attempt 10 or so. great strategy.

Whenever i battle bahamut it always spawns ifrit even though I already pressured him once im so mad rn
Have someone have elemental+ fire material combined in armor. I put it on aerith and that’s the way I beat it. He just heals her with every attack

Shinruy's guide was little flawed in that you din't see his stats, didn't know that you had to max pretty much everything, and was hard to follow in few places.

Man this fight is giving me the blues lol. No matter what I try Levi and Bahamut do something completely different that throws the entire fight into utter chaos
Leviathan can be abused by manually switching to each character to use an attack. This manual switch makes him delay and slow down his moves and spell uses. Bahamut you just need to thundaga into the ground then stop until casts umbral aura and continue
Same here. I think I don’t have the coordination for playing Tifa. Tried a thousand times, never got past the 2nd time Bahamut got pressured.
And I also noted the game eating ATB bars without doing the commands! Like on leviathan stagger, I used two true strikes with tifa and never got up the stagger percentage.
I will try another strategy.
@@FelipeKlussmann hey keep using the strategy that BltzZ puts forth in the vid. It works as I achieved it finally after about a day or two after BltzZ replied to my original comment. It all comes down to timing I guess. After I got used to Levi it was only a matter of time before I got the hang of Bahamut

@@BltzZ I attempted your build and everytime I get to Leviathan or Bahamut, I'm out of MP. Your build is a bit too advanced for some people. Could you do a build with Barret, Cloud and Aerith? It's a but slower but something that doesn't rely on crazy damage and combos? Lol I tried to do this but I cannot get anywhere the damage level you did.
@@zZiL341yRj736 It's not specifically mentioned, but your weapons need to have max attacking stats and all 6 materia slots on top of the +50% mp regen speed and -20% mp cost for offensive spells both the mithryl saber and silver staff have.
At lv 50, having done all sidequests and arena challenges on normal and beating the vs 3C individual battles on hard you should have enough points to respec the weapons here, get the abilities you need and ignore the rest.

Just try to fight him from his back at all times. Have a range character equip Cleanse and use esuna on characters affected by bad breath. It's quite easy if you stick to it's back

@@alejobradley hmm, honestly putting warding+subversion, and element+fire on armor slots made it quite a breeze. The only fight that becomes a problem is behemoth zero
For Behemoth Zero, cast barrier and use physical attacks only. He uses mostly physical attacks so the barrier helps to minimize damage.. Magic will not work on him if his horn is intact.
I'm following your set up guide in this video, and I'm still having trouble getting past the fat chocobo
i would recommend getting all the manuscripts before doing this so your weapons are fully upgraded :)

@@danielharper2030 The video does not have many manuscripts actually so that's not why. I am having issues with Fat Chocobo too because sometimes the tonberries don't get caught in the spells before they stab someone.
Elemental+Fire in the armor slot to heal from fire from the bombs. And Ifrit ❤️
What I figured out is that Tifa needs to do both True Strikes after the stagger BACK TO BACK. This procs ATB assist and gives Cloud and Aerith the ATB needed to start the Thundaga spam to keep the baddies away.

I’m bummed because so many people are having success with this method and it’s just not working for me. I can get to Leviathan no problem but getting past him is a challenge.
With leviathan are you also casting thundagas with tifa? Soon as he's pressured then staggered tifa needs to pump out the most possible damage. Her Divekick takes down a good chunk each hit!

BltzZ I completed it in 5:52, Pride and Joy definitely had me on pins and needles simply because if I wiped there it’d mean having to deal with Bahamet again and I was also pretty much out of magic so I wasn’t crippling his legs as much as I wanted to. I made one alternation it this build that ultimately saved me. I ended up going against the advise of so many of these guides and put elemental and fire on my armor. I couldn’t avoid Ifrit from being summoned so he ultimately healed for the P&J me after I downed Bahamet.
Me too and I’m using 2 HP & MP ups on each character!
My only problem abt this, is that I need to max out my materias, but im so lazyy:(
It takes a couple of hours grinding normally,if you are completing the game on hard you should put in a couple of materia you want to lvl up,but the better grind is the beginning of chapter 16

@@BltzZ Will do for sure! Tifa actually took the hit from the beam thing and died so I was left With Cloud and Aerith. I was surprised that's enough to beat Pride and Joy. Bahamut actually summoned Ifrit too and was able to kill both and I don't how I managed lol Thank you for all the FF7 guides man!

It's the same exact video. It is a good strategy, so I guess why reinvent the wheel, LOL.
Took inspiration from plenty of channels tbh! Xuses, TheGamerEyes and Shinryu for sure. They have solid methods and there are only so many ways to really get the ball rolling in these fights
I wouldn't say disgusting I mean at the end of the day this strategy is being used by many other channels and seems to be the most effective. When I get home I'll add cards to their channel at the end of the video since it seems the description isn't getting them much exposure...
I showcase the hard mode builds as that's what's widely used for the beginners and intermediate players for my guides. The fury ring is an item I use very often on tifa for my personal play through. Im pretty sure I gave credit to them in the description.
