Thanks so much for the walk through. I notice the manual states to 'inspect the thrust bearing regularly'. Any idea how is that done?
Turns out I've been using the wrong grease for 20 years-- oops.

Only way I know is to monitor it for odd bearing noises, check the weep hole regularly, and check the seal underneath around the shaft for debris such as fishing line.

Have you had to do any impeller work yet?

I have not. I have only had it apart as far as it ws in the video. The impeller was replaced shortly before I bought it but they failed to replace the bowl seals and had improperly assembled the seal area. If you contact American Turbine directly in Clarkston they are very helpful and can send you the parts quickly.
