(good for straighte course speed) - all wave will be taken by the boats underside and not by the bow. by tilting the engine down: - the engine will force the hull down and keep it more connected with the water. - more control at speed. - will slam hard in waves, due to the engine will always trying to push the bow down.
Trust the Norwegians those guys know how to sail, I lived in Norway for couple of years in Kristiansand, seems like everyone owned a boat, I had to take a speed boat across a bay at Movic every morning to get to work. Actually you want the bow down to reduce slamming. If you hit the wave with the underside of the boat you'll slam the hardest. If you catch the wave with the bow first(typically the deepest V part of the boat) the wave will be dispersed. It will be a wetter ride for sure and the lower your bow is the more you risk stuffing.
He actually had the right idea you need to have the right speed to punch across the gap in each wave. Too slow and you dig the bow down into the next wave risking being swamped!

Amazing right? I can understand an adult taking that risk, but if one of the children went over there’s little chance you could help them in time.
That Doral pounding through wide open at 6:40 was the baddest clip of this video
Totally! Pity about whatever black thing went overboard astern at 6:51 though...
@@jonathanw4591 looks like a cabelas tackle bag or small cooler bag.
I'm amazed at how fast the tide runs through there. It literally stops boats. Even bigger ones. Looks like speed is the key to getting through.
Not always
That pontoon driver was really good. Hats off to that guy!!
Lmao to the guy rocking grape smugglers smashing up and down on the waves (6:13) in the video.
That 2700hp cigarette boat was nuts!!!!
The guy that makes these videos is so chill. I got to meet him yesterday
It totally amazes me how many of the small craft passengers don’t even give a life jacket a thought going in and out !
You just have to live here....we do this stuff every weekend and alot do it everyday....its nothing for us.
@@perryh.5306 Yeah it sure is nothing until your kid gets knocked off the boat into the most dangerous inlet in Florida.
@@Misha-dr9rh IF your scared...don't do it...Simple as that. I've been thru this pass MANY times as both a child AND an adult. For me...It is and has always been fun and a Adventure!
I am a good swimmer, raised on the shore of Sea, my boys are not bad either. However, once we were crossing the inlet of Beauford NC, with old captain riding the boat probably 20 times a day with 10 passengers on the board. I was thinking if in between of his coughs, hands could not handle the wheel properly...trying to figure out: how fast we will be under the water inside that upsidedown metal cage, and how in the world I will be able to pull my kids out, then up from under the water with that speed of current, both at the same time... No chance...And there was a lot of folks with kids in the strollers. No safety vests as well. I was praying in tears both ways to keep that old man hands strong. And my kids were laughing at me, still ...until now...
@@perryh.5306 imagine a steering failure in that inlet. Just simply horrible port architecture
3:05 that Brazilian kid screaming for his dad to go back 🤣🤣🤣
Pontoon captain: "hey babe hit the bilge switch" Wife: (swings open side door)
TIL people take lake boats into the ocean.
@@victorpereira225 Florida.
Not even once.
I thought I heard her screaming Dive ! Dive !
Ha, he knows who the boss is... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@victorpereira225 you better get your Ocean Boats off my lakes then.
@@JonP_4-31inf DEAL!
really fun to watch!
"I'm going to ride up front where everyone will see how cool I am!"
I do be feeling cool when I sit up front lol
I noticed not many 'proper' fishing boats because they know how to cross a bar, unlike 90% of these 'captains', most of the ones coming in have no idea!!
I wonder what the boat operator has against those people - its a good way to be seriously injured.
I'll stick to the middle or rear
Doh!
Beware the vessel with fenders out! One of three things going on;
1 forgetful - that’s never good
2 don’t know what they are doing - also not good
3 They are used to hitting things wherever they are and feel the need to add protection - particularly worrying 😉
i cant believe he droped an outboard, not a single person on the boat seemed to notice
@@TheChickenlipz87 It was just a bag! But still unoticed ;-)
Excellent collection of stuffings. Best boat award goes to the Cigarette c/c 👌
Awesome videos , little big wawes. Greetings from The Czech Republic.
Dude at 6:46: "None of those youtube comments will be telling me to put the throttle down!"
Dude was full airborne at 6:49 - Ridiculous haha
😂😂😂
I love seeing seeing boats more typically seen in my native Lake Erie crushing Haulover 😂
Apart leaving his fender out, he was Boss compared to rest. I sincerely hope the captain was wearing leopard print thong and sporting a mullet hair do. Cooool
@@dRockOhio Yeah I think haulover did more damage to that boat in the form of stress cracks, Not to mention at 6:51 he looses a green bag off the stern!
@@NeverEnoughPyro40 there goes the drugs
Love how dude rolls thru in his pontoon boat and puts everyone else to shame
That's because a 'toon is technically a raft and unsinkable, although I suppose one could flip.
Time stamp?? I’m ignorant when it comes to boats.
@@abelfuentes4501 , 2:10 He didn't put anyone to shame though. He actually got swamped pretty good but being a pontoon it didn't matter much.
He simply went much slower. Any of the others could do that if they wanted to.
@@rsilvers129 that was his top speed! Lol
3:07 I laughed so hard when she took a bath, and then started screaming. I guess she didn’t think she would get wet while at the ocean. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
2:08 this pilot is huge, he knows exactly what hes doing.
6:43 is one of the best clips I've seen on this channel. Full send. The fenders suggest that it's just a display of alcohol-fuelled bravado rather than seamanship, but it worked anyway.
They probably should secure their belongs better though. Looks like they lost a green bag of some sort around 6:50
Fuck yeah! Green Top Legend!!
*Tremendous*
@@LordVipah Well spotted!
Did anyone else see the engine fall off
Man if I lived in Miami I’d be there all the time watching this insanity.
This was 100% more satisfying than I expected it to be
I just love this stuff. 1:35 The way that jacked up guy maintains his "confident" posture while they are obviously in trouble :D
Mystery boat #1 should be called the nuthugger express😜
Was a Boston Whaler was is not?
hahahahaha
Sponsored by banana boat wrinkle cream
The sausage showcase
ya that was a newer whaler
6:50 cooler said "im out guys, good luck" as it rolled off the back end ... what a damn lunatic at those speeds. Isnt there a speed limit in this inlet ?
Speed is a big factor between bouncing between the waves in some cases smaller boats going high speed skimming the wave tops as a big factor between have a good run out or in. But no there's no speed limit probably until ur pass the bridge where it could be counted as a no wake but seeing how the waves are highly unlikely
I'd be pissed if I was riding on that boat with that idiot..
Idk his exact boat but in some cases that could have been his best option
Maybe had to poop
Speed limits would be pointless here. They can make a limit, but "minimum speed to maintain steerage" always takes precedent.
I love how there are so many different boat designs. So much more variants than automobiles.
Yes so many different manufacturers and the layout configurations are endless! The US has like 3 main car manufacturers.
That Freeman Cat just sliced right on through!
Anyone else hearing Brocos Guru in their head as those bows stuff? Haulover definitely takes the win here.
First off; LOVE THE CHANNEL!
It seems to me like the inboard-engined boats take the waves better than the ones with outboards. Sure, size matters, but in general. And as a sidenote; wear life-jackets!
That last boat knew how to go with the flow. Glided in nice and smooth.
It was also massive
with 66' of boat hed have to be about the worst captain in the world to do poorly
Those freemans really are amazing boats. So stable
Love the way the big cats go right through it !
I just watched a bunch of boats bounce up and down in the water while eating an ice cream cone!!!! My life has purpose!!
this is the type o video i except to find at 2am surfing the depths of youtube
not 2 hours after i got home from work
Why is this so fun to watch?! 👍
Interesting to see the difference in boat designs and skill or lack there of in the captains.
Also.. just bc u stand behind the wheel doesn't make u a captain ..
lol calm down so much tech these days u ain’t captain of nothing most can’t even sail right
I grew up inHollywood Florida and as a teenager ran in and out of Haulover a lot in a 21 foot BostonWhaler with twin 70 horsepower Outboards on it and we usually carried 4 people all with full Scuba gear and a average of 20 to 22 filled Aluminum80 tanks it made for some fairly Adventurous days pushing that little boat to its limits but has made me a Lifetime believer inBostonWhaler boats
6:42 this boat hardcore af 😆
Lmao dude definitely just got out of the house for the first time that month
I think that boat dropped a bag.
On that day not one fuk was given lol
@@PaekSukis I was hoping someone else noticed that
Hahahahahaha dead ass
Wow! A lot of these captains have serious skills!!!😮!!! Good for them! Look at the first boat, the “Black Diamond” Bat-mobile looking cruiser!!! Wow! That captain knew how to navigate those waters well.👏👏👏👏
The Tirranna is a sharp looking boat BUT I'm for the Cat without a doubt, very impressive looking
I’m always so torn. I love the cat but I feel like the closed cockpit would be old. How about going fast and having a party onboard while you do it? Tirranna wins for me in my old age 😂🤣
I launched my 22 footer next to a Cat on the same boat ramp last summer... I felt just a little inferior
A throttle handle: just chilling
Human: “what’s this for”
Not sure why this was recommended to me, but as I'm sitting here watching all I can hear is Clarkson yelling "speed and power!"
😂 me too 😂🤣😂
That guy piloting the pontoon boat was super impressive. He knows how it's done.
