    Hey man I loved this video!! I have a K6 GSXR600 also and the stator went out so I'm going to replace the stator and regulator myself, my plan is to relocate the rectifier in the airbox. This video definitely gave me the confidence to complete the task, as I'm already handy and would prefer to do simple fixes on my bike myself. You were super in depth and specific great stuff!! Thanks for the video!!

    Does the stator always have burned out coils when its bad? Have the same bike, after 2 hours riding she started sputtering and then died on my.
    Behaved like the battery was empty but i had it checked and it was fine.
    Took the stator out and that looks fine as well, no burned coils.
    starting to think its the regulator.
    Funny thing is that i can push start it and it runs fine

    Do you know what the OHMS of the stator should be on the 3 wires? I followed a file online which says under .5 is bad stator so that would make mine bad because i am getting .4 but then on another forum it says "All should show between .2-.9 ohms" so that would make mine good. IS not grounded and i am also getting above 65VAC so besides the resistance test i should have a good stator. Thanks

    Hi, i have a gsr600 2008. Battery is not charging, the voltage regulator was burnt so the garage replaced it, I was told that there was also a peak from the alternator(dynamo) around 150v measured, so they replaced that too with a new piece of wiring, we tried multiple batteries. The grounding to the voltage regulator was also not that great to the frame and the connector so they fixed that too.
    And the wiring does not have any weird resistance.
    That garage does not know what else to do and they want to quit.
    Do you have any tips for me what else it could be, or what I can try.(for example, disconnecting al the turn signals.. idk)

    Now battery is giving 12.5 v at idle and when I rev to 6000 RPM I only got 13.1v .
    I guess stator is the problem. Isn't?? ( it didn't really have any burned coils though beside a little darker spot in only one coil)

  • @Wildweinersdotcom

    Great job! The only thing... you don’t need to take the Airbox apart to access the rectifier regulator/stator cables. You have to take it OUT, but not apart.
    Take it out by removing the 2 hoses, the Allen keys on the intake manifold inlets, and the 3 sensors at the front. It will slide right out then.

    • @ChristianParis2001
      @ChristianParis2001 9 месяцев назад +1

      Fix it right and you won't have that problem. Relocate the rectifier and use a Mosfet rectifier. And use a ricks stator and you won't have a problem again. If you keep using cheap Chinese parts your bike will continue to have the reliability of a cheap Chinese bike. You are only as strong as your weakest link.

    • @edsonandresmusic8352
      @edsonandresmusic8352 4 года назад

      yes man, the oil lubricates the stator also, so if a stator dies, it will contaminate the oil with burned residues .

  • @treyven2007
    @treyven2007 6 лет назад +2

    This is a common problem with the 06 07 GSXR 750 there is no mystery to the issue it is because of the stock location of the rectifier. It is designed to be air-cooled but is subjected to an excessive amount of heat do to the stock location just above the headers and behind the radiator making it impossible to dissipate the excess Heat once you relocate the rectifier into the new position replace the old stator and burnt up rectifier you will no longer have any issues your reliability will be restored and you will be the proud owner of one of the best sport bikes on the planet. Visit flatland innovations.com for a direct bolt-on application. Relocate the rectifier in front of the radiator where you would commonly find an oil cooler. Look at the video on RUclips under flatland Innovations rectifier relocation bracket. It's a simple fix comes the bracket comes with detailed instructions takes about 30 minutes.

    • @modsbytweek

    Just did the same thing to my bike I noticed two things, one is you didn't use any loctite, and two your bike is making a whistling noise like mines after using that Ricks Stator wtf the deal with that fill me in if you figured it out or fixed it.

    • @modsbytweek
      @modsbytweek  8 лет назад

      The Stator bolts are torqued to 8 lb-ft and none of the bolts require Loctite but if you do just a dab and nothing stronger than the blue Loctite. The Service Manual does not show the use of Loctite on any of the bolts I removed.
      I didn't notice any real change in the pitch but I did have some cam chain noise which is better now that I put a
      new chain, guides and a manual tension adjuster in.

      ide perfectly. any ideas on why it would be doing this during startup? I've taken it back apart and notice no rubibng or binding or anything else out of the ordinary.
