- How to diagnose and replace a Stator (alternator) and a regulator on an 07 Suzuki GSXR 600. This process works for any GSXR from year 2006 through 2015.

I'll be doing this once the parts get ordered. The bike didn't start up after over an hour of continuous riding.

Did this ever fix the problem? I have the same issue. Bike starts fine when engine is cold, but after more than a half hour of riding, it won't start up again.
@@behmer1879 did you ever figure out what your issue is mine is having kind of the same problem my bike will start up and idle fine if I slowly give it throttle it's fine but if I snap the my wrist and give it a rev it'll die

Thanks for the insight. I've got a Triumph Tiger 800 that is making some unusual sounds from the alternator/stator area. Another video I watched explained a similar problem and was due to the stator having one of the three mounting bolts loose. Makes a bit of vibes too.
Your video at least helps a guy get the confidence to start dismantling before going to the dealer for $ervice.

just a point to note , my bikes R&R blew a while back, after research I changed the R&R but not the stator as I give it a voltage check and everything seemed at the right voltage, as I was going over to the picos in Spain a few weeks later on a lads trip I thought it best to have a few ride outs to just get the confidence back in the bike, all still seemed well. Day of my bike trip I rode 150 miles to Portsmouth and as boarding the ferry my bike started to play up, had to bump start it, this went on through out my trip which really spoilt it as didn’t want to ride the bike too much, unlucky for 1 of the group who had a head on smash turns out to be lucky for me, as his bike was a write off so he no longer needed his battery and yes, I took the opportunity to take it as back up( which I needed to get the bike home, Just!!), I guess I’m trying to say...... don’t cut corners, always check the stator if your R&R blows, also buy OEM parts as I think a cheap R&R may of blown with the voltage not being right.. all is good now, this video was a fantastic help as I’m not in anyway mechanical so thanks 👍🏻 oh by the way my mate was ok, a night in hospital and a cast on his leg top to bottom 😂

Hi, just replaced my stator. It's not necessary to drain the engine oil. I did mine without draining. I put it on rear paddock stand while doing the job. There was only residual oil. Just sharing.

Great video, mine has just went out and was about to do it didn’t think I’ll I would need to drain the oil, thanks for the heads up it would have gotten messy.
Just replaced this on my 99' 600gsxr. Both stator and rectifier. I still had issues with staying on and draining battery. so i order a new starter. Hope that will fix all power issues. Knowing its an older bike and I haven't ridden it in almost 3yrs. Figure I replace all brand new. The sad part after seeing this video (awesome vid), I wish I didn't pay a bike mechanic to do it. But now we know.
I appreciate the video bro. My 06 GSX-R600 also lost complete power. Didn't know what happened either cuz I replaced the batter and it still acts like it doesn't even have a battery with no juice whatsoever. I too will be replacing the stator and the rectifier with a rectifier relocation bracket

This just happened to my 04 R6 was riding it home from work and the lights were dim when I started the bike then eventually shut off and I lost all power to the bike. Good video btw!

GREAT VIDEO!!! I have a 07 Gsxr 600 and my bike died on me last night, and I plan on replacing my stator and my rectifier. I am not sure what the issue might be. I found out that the 30amp fuse blew, and as soon as it was replaced it blew again immediately. So if I do have a bad stator or rectifier, I will be using this video to replace them myself. thank you. you have a new sub. Salute.
Getting the cover back on is the hardest part lol I've fought them for half an hour before lol

How did you loosen the screw under the filter, you make it seem so easy and accessible, any suggestions?

Is it normal that I have around 14.4v idling, but that when I play with the throttle the voltage can sometimes increase to slightly over 15v or drop down to 10v for a bit? Trying to figure out what is wrong. Couldn't start anymore after a long ride, so I had to jumpstart.

I recently bought a 2007 modell Suzuki gsxr 600 voltage rectifier regulator from ricks.On the Box I got With it, it says that I should check the AC output of the stator, what voltage am I supost to get?I changed it and it was working for 2-3 weeks before it stopped, again...
Why did u drain the oil? My 07 zx10r I did not drain the oil. There was oil residue inside the cover but it wasn't filled with oil. Wierd if the Suzuki is filled with oil.
I have a 2013 GSXR 750. My bike has sat in the garage for half of the year and I haven't started it in quite some time. I started it a couple weeks ago and the biked turned over but in idle sounded like it barely had power to continue running. Turned it off and tried to turn it back on and I just get a clicking noise. Although the lights and gauges all turn on. The Rectifier/Regulator is not located on the left side near the radiator. I looked for it under the gas tank and removed the air filter and still cannot find it. I still haven't checked my stator to see if that is the issue as to why the bike wont start but locating my rectifier/regulator seems to be half the battle if it needs to be replaced. Can you provide any insight as to where the rectifier/regulator is located on a 2013 GSXR 750? Also if the stator sounds to be the issue?
do you need to put oil inside the stator cover? also, i saw you put oil somewhere, whats that for?
@Centersnare32 where did you get your parts from? Are they reliable? Did you use your vin# going through Suzuki.
My mechanic says to use vin# going through Suzuki. Your thoughts and reply are greatly appreciated guy

y u need to give it a jump everytime u started it? so battery is still low from the messed up stator ? so the problem was it ur stator or regulator?

Quick question, did you put a sealant around the stator wire? Where the rubber portion is on the stator cover? Because mine is leaking and i dont know if you can put anything on that rubber portion..?

I have question. I have K8 gsxr 750 and notice problem on high rpm where i get choke when bike is hot ( its cut power ) and my headlight kinda flash a bit, its hardy noticed. Can a choke at high rpm be simbols of rectifier or i need to surch for problem somewhere else?

Im having bad ground for injectors..can you help me out ... All Injector wire harness shows. 12.7 voltage... But only the first injector wireharness clip spary they other injectors clip doesnt spray but injectors are good

I'm having this same issue on my GSXR 1100, but I'm also blowing the ignition fuse. My question is, can the stator/rectifier issue also cause my ignition fuse to blow? Thanks. Great vid BTW.

Did it leak? Mines does. Oem gasket. But I do have Chinese stator
So I just did this and even unplugged the cables and at idle sat at 13 so battery correct?
My bike has oil leaks on stator cover and it also have charging problem because my stator is damaged so if I change the stator those oil links will stop on a stator cover or what?

Hey bro, have a problem with my Suzuki gsf 650 cc. Recently installed a new battery of 12v 9amps. When I pack the bike after a ride and cools down, that’s when it can start but when the bike is still warm it can’t fire or start. So what could be the problem..thanks

Yes you need to drain the oil first. Or you can lean the bike on its left side and work on it

How many miles were on the bike when you had to swap out the stator? The battery didn't need to be replaced?
It was probably 15k or so miles
did you use an oem stator or after market?
was that a Chinese one you put in? or was it OEM? and how many miles you put on it? any problem?

William Nunez You can check both with a multimeter and there are videos to do that.
can you do this without draining the oil? seems like the parts are higher than the oil pan.
Oh I do have 750 Suzuki 2007 I just changed the waterpump.. and when I started it won't start no lights and ignition light off..so but when I jumba to my car the lights go on and start beautifully ..and when I took of the jumba is dead ...idk wats wrong with it
You should’ve sanded that gasket down, along with reapplying gasket sealer
How often do you change your oil I see your using 10w40 300v and I see people talking how’s it’s for track use mostly and you have to change it frequently can you give me some info

Mine is reading 11.99/12.00 at idle. And 13.44 reved up. So is mine bad?
What if I don't drain my oil? I know it will leak from the stator housing. But does it affect anything?
It shouldn't be too bad of a problem just top off your oil
i know this videos old but i'll still ask. Im having the same problem on my bike as well and im noticing that im leaking some oil so im assuming that the stator is fried and the gasket is burnt up. Is that the cause of my battery not being charged?
The battery will charge but the bike will run off of tbe battery until the battery dies
