  • In this video we unbox and review the 8” Wahuda Jointer. Huge thanks to my good friend Johnny for bringing over his new jointer so we could take a look at it. He definitely did some research on this machine. I was glad he wanted to be the first one to run some boards through this as well. That was great seeing him use this for the first time. There is something about using a new machine or tool for the first time.
This jointer has a cast iron top which is in my experience a great working surface. Just have to make sure you clean it and protect it. There are multiple products out there for that. We used Johnson’s Paste Wax. The adjustment on the cast top is easy as well.
They also added extension arms allowing you to do longer boards with out trying to balance them. Giving you a better result. These are also adjustable.
The aluminum fence is good. Don’t push to hard on it or it will move some. Because aluminum isn’t as strong as other metals. But still does a great job giving the wood a square surface to ride. Also this is adjustable up to a 45 degree angle. For joining angles. But a cool feature is the fence can slide over the cast top. Allowing you to get more control with smaller pieces.
It doesn’t have a blower for the sawdust. So you will need to hook this up to a dust collection system. We used the Dustopper system I have. That did ok not great. But I did just upgrade my system so we will see what I can do. It does come with a reducer for the dust port as well from 4” down to 2.5”.
We used some old rough cut pine boards to flatten and see how this did. As you can see we ran the sides through this jointer making quick work of the sides. Also ran the flat wide sides through as well. These boards were just under 8” a tight squeeze but this jointer did an awesome job. Definitely impressed with the ease of running these through. I’m sure it’ll the fact they used helical cutter heads has a lot to do with it. After using one with blades, the difference is amazing. These are the way to cut. Plus when the blades dull you just rotate the blades. You have 4 sides to go through.
The one board we ran through to make square came out perfectly square. Definitely a great way to start a project. Start square end square.
Overall for the price of this jointer it is $549.00 at www.wahudatool...
I definitely had to order one after this. I have been looking for a new jointer something I could use in my shop. Something that would be good and last me a while. This will definitely be a good addition. They offer 6”, 8”, and 10” jointers. For me the 8” jointer will be more than enough for the work I do.
Thank you for watching please like and subscribe if you would like to see more.

Wanted to watch but the constantly moving camera made me queasy. A tripod-mounted camera would be a big improvement.

Spiral cutter head not helical and the leveling of the tables is what everybody wants to see especially with these newer models
