    Just ordered the same machine. As with my cast iron top machines, I apply a paste wax and buff to the top making it much easier to push stock over the bed. Less rocking of the finish cut. Have fun. Thanks for the vid.

    the paddles included with that jointer are absolutely a safety hazard, recommend you discard them immediately - I tossed mine out the first time they slipped

    Mine is in the mail, it’ll be here Wednesday. Any change in opinion or additional advice since the video?

      Only thing I've done is bolt it to the table, and I bought carbide cutters that I'm replacing the high speed steel ones with as they dull. Otherwise, I've been very happy with it!

    That tool you used to find the distance between the level and table....what is that?

    Do they sell a larger fence you can add on?

      Not that I can find. I was thinking about trying to make one. If you find one, please share 🙏😎👍

      No, what you see is what you get. Kind of the standard for the smaller benchtop jointers. I have the 6" version and I wish the fence was just a little longer sometimes.

    The paddles look like they are difficult to work with

      @ThisOldFarmShop  4 месяца назад +1

      Yes they are! End up kicking the back one up to push with. It's doesn't grip hardly at all.

      @@ThisOldFarmShop Would a push stick with a small lip work better?

      Possibly... I've been making do with these for now 👍
