  • Wahuda Model 50180CC-WHD 8 inch benchtop jointer unboxing and initial review. Let me tell you an amazing story about how I received this jointer. But first let me tell you about the Wahuda 8" jointer. This is a great budget option for a jointer this size. If you are looking for an inexpensive jointer option, you should consider Wahuda. Out of the box, the Wahuda jointer was square and true. The Wahuda jointer was securely packaged and arrived damage free. It was very easy to set up with clear instructions. So how did I get this jointer? This is the story. I get a message from a perfect stranger on Instagram who tells me that God put it on his heart to send me this jointer. I was very shocked. I tried to turn it down but he presented a very convincing argument on why I should take the gift. All I can say is wow! This Wahuda jointer is the one that I have been wanting for quite a while now. I used it on a few recent builds and it works great! The Wahuda jointer is easy to use and flattens boards with ease. Thank you Brother Riv and Spendarella!

I too am not a believer, but I harbor no animosity for those who do. Everyone should follow their own path. I also think those who give, receive. Those who take, get nothing but pain and aggravation. So, for sharing of your knowledge, you were rewarded. People like to help good people who can use a helping hand and will appreciate what they give. I bet you made the day of that guy who gave you the jointer. To him it was only money, which he probably had more than he needed

My Dad passed away 6 years ago. He was a full-time fire fighter, Asst Chief no less. He was also a master carpenter. He built the house and the Cottage I grew up in...and many others homes.
He did it all with a table saw, circular saw, a 4" jointer, and a hammer he found in a street gutter.
I took up woodworking 5 1/2 years ago to stay connected to him, and kept a few of his tools. I use his hammer on every project I do, even if it doesn't need it....just a single tap.
Matt- I'd give anything to go back in time and learn something, just anything from him. - how to get the perfect miter, how to get the perfect square....and how and when to use a jointer....of Which I don't have yet. There's a reason I found your channel, and there's a bigger reason that you were gifted this jointer...but you already know that. You're passion, you're enthusiasm for teaching , through this channel, is helping me continue on with woodworking and stay connected with my Dad. I know it sounds weird, but Ive always felt that I couldn't get near his level of perfection without a jointer...and now maybe I know which brand to get....and I will stay tuned to see how you put it to good use. Bless you bro.

Sorry to hear about your dad. Lost mine a little over two years ago. Tough to lose the biggest hero in your life. Thanks for sharing your story. I got my dads bible. He owned that bible for 38 years and read it every day. He wrote many notes in it, some for me. Now I read from it everyday. Keep using that hammer my friend. You hammer and my bible keep us connected to our dads.

      Love your story friend.
My father “attempted “ to do woodworking and home repairs on the weekends. He was absolutely terrible 😅. Which was surprising because he came from along line of master carpenters and home builders. He was an amazing man in his own right (writer and college professor). I got a summer job as an apprentice carpenter when I was in college and absolutely fell in love it. I worked as a carpenter for 5 years in my twenties. I ended up starting an alarm company in my late twenties (that I still run today) but that love of building and carpentry never faded. I am close to 60 now and I am renovating a 4000 square foot home. I am not doing all the work but certainly almost all of the carpentry. While my father was not a competent carpenter my bloodline goes back hundreds of years that includes master craftsmen. There is something SO rewarding in building and carpentry that just fills my souls and gives me a sense of peace and accomplishment. Maybe that family history has everything to do with those feelings.
Matt thank you for giving us this forum with your channel.
Love the channel and love hearing other people’s stories.

Matt! I’m a disabled firefighter of over 25 years who is trying to find a new path in something outside my prior life of being a firefighter. I’ve been watching your videos for over a year now. As I am beginning into woodworking myself I find myself looking at reviews and advice on tools and such. I always seem to gravitate to your videos and always appreciate how you are upfront on your reviews. I have to admit that I was not very religious as a firefighter as I saw myself involved in terrible incidents that kept my emotions suppressed. However, I do feel quite inspired in your videos when the topic comes forward and appreciate your sincerity and openness to being thankful to what comes your way. As I’m on a very slow path towards woodworking, do to being on an income restricted, I’m still struggling to acquire tools. I’m still going back to videos from your past and viewing them and see your journey to now. I even watch some repeatedly.
Thank you for all you do and happy you’re following your path!

The fact that YOU are giving God the praise, and are truly humbled to receive it AND sharing God's Blessing to others- I'd say THAT'S WHY God blessed you. And never refuse a gift from someone who feels God is asking them to do it, you don't want to be the cause for them missing out on their blessing. This is easy for me to say, but with like you- hard to do. May God continue to bless you and your great wife as well as the amazing couple who followed God's prompting! Too many times on RUclips people are too full of themselves because all they want is to gain likes and views for their narcissistic gain. I learned long ago to always say "thank you" when someone gives something to you or does something for you. That is usually all they want. When you don't, it leaves a very bad impression and they may not give to people again. So, do the next person a favor, and thank those who are nice to you. And, this is the thing, you usually only get one chance, which is at the time the you receive the gift or the good act. Later is not nearly as good as immediately. Also, do it the way Matt did. People want to hear how their gift will improve your life.

I would say there's a difference between "deserving" and feeling "entitled". We aren't entitled to anything, like you said😉 You, however, are deserving of this. The catch is, God blesses us and we can never catch up or give back to get "even" with all we have been blessed with. The double catch (not sure this us a real term🤪) is now you have the responsibility to bless others and stay "in tune" with His promptings to you.
That seems to be a life long pursuit to me. Best of luck.
It's so nice to know there are people that listen to those promptings AND act on them.

Very pleased to have found you’re woodworking channel and proud of you for sharing your faith publicly. It ain’t easy brother. I count finding your channel as a gift because I’ve recently taken up woodworking due to my work as an airline pilot drying up. It was always in my heart to do and now it’s not only fulfilling a passion I never knew I had but it’s also helping with family needs. Your content is extremely helpful and always enjoyable. I’ve been a subscriber for a short time and thoroughly enjoy this channel. From the first video I watched, I knew there was something about you that shined! The more I watched the more I could tell you love God and have a great relationship with him. I believe this is just another step for you to take in the direction God has called you to go. This channel has taught me so much in a short time that I’ve been able to start a small side business making cutting and charcuterie boards to sell. I’m in the process of making the farmhouse coffee table that you made. Thank you for being a follower of God and for sharing your God given gifts with others.👍🏻🇺🇸💪🏻

Received mine about 3 weeks ago. Had a badly manufactured infeed table so they sent me a new table. After spending about 4 hours between cleaning oil of tables and taking out cutters and cleaning them, squaring fence and setting tables coplaner, it cuts unreal. So happy with it and Michael Gierke who is one of the main guys at Wahuda is extremely helpful via email or phone. Great company.

First off I want to let you know that your videos have really helped me to decide to take the leap of faith and trust God an start a side hussle in wood workings as well. I've felt it's something I'm supposed to do but have talked myself out of it since I'm not a wood worker by trade. My back ground is welding and mechanical. Wood is completely new to me. So thank you for putting out videos that are informative and entertaining. Second is I've been told by many older christians when they've wanted to bless me and my family to never turn it down cause I'd be robbing them of a blessing since they are able and willing to listen to God I never wanna do that but it's still tough to except a gift knowing your not worthy of it. But like you said our God is truly amazing and great. Keep up the great content and keep fighting the good fight sir. Thank you

I am a pastor of a church in Columbus Ohio. I do lots of woodworking and I was looking for a new Jointer myself. I went to my brother-in-law’s house. He had bought a jointer that he had use a couple of times and now could not use because of his health. He asked me if I could use a jointer in my woodworking. I said yes I have been looking for one. He said I have one that’s like new in the basement you can have it. I went downstairs to his basement and it was an 8 inch joiner, with 48 inch tables and was a floor model. I asked him are you sure you don’t want to sell this and he said no I want you to have it. I disassembled it so I could get it into my car, brought it home, put it together and I am using it for everything. It has changed how I do woodworking because I work with rough cut lumber straight from the sawmill. God is very good and very faithful.

Content creation I've considered and tried but there is a TON that goes into it that I just didn't realize. In any case I'm sure you'll enjoy the new jointer and does this mean you'll be passing your old jointer (the 4' level) onto someone else... maybe a contest for a signed 731 Wood works "jointer" ha ha ha ha.
