Thought you forgot about them... The only thing more fun than watching a Dirty Loops video is watching someone else watching a Dirty Loops video for the first time. Thanks for coming back, David.
I totally agree! BUT.. he needs to check out Next To You first. It is my favorite out of all these songs on this album. He can really get to hear and experience all of their sound in one piece. It's such a rollercoaster he needs to get on.
@@Digzitify Wait he hasn't done next to you yet?!?!!??! Oh I GOTTAAAA see him react to that. We need a poll on how many times he will pause because it has a lot to digest LOL
Hehe, yes, saw them live in May and they said that f you was the working name of the song and during the chorus they had the whole audience giving them the finger at "rock you". 🤣 jokesters indeed!
Thanks for a great reaction. They are phenomenal. Remember to check the credits at the end to see how big jokers they really are. Going to see them live for the second time soon - counting the days!
@@fiddlestix3025 amazing! :-) They have just as much energy and interaction live. The sounds and solos were a bit different (as they should be with musicians). And they have an extra guy on keyboards (which I knew from the last time I saw them) so Jonah can concentrate on his singing parts from time to time. And of cause they have lots of layering on the recordings so he wouldn't be able to play it all by himself anyway. Since they were playing at a festival with a tight time table I was very surprised when they played about half an hour extra giving several encores...
@@ellenstergaardgravesen1011 whoa! Several encores 👏👏👏 Most bands modify and/or have backing tracks when playing their recorded material live, I guess. But sheesh, you’re lucky! The video I have been waiting for! Thanks David, How--, and team! Dirty Loops is one of my favorite bands, being a drummer myself, my mind is always blown by what the band can do. I always say this song casts some bard spell on you that commands you to move. The pocket is SO DEEP.
I think that's when I saw them too -- and Simon was playing keys along to cover the back 40 so Jonah wasn't just leashed to his keyboard all night. They really just came off like they do in these videos, extreme music nerds who love what they do more than life itself.
They came out to Australia a couple of years ago as support for Maroon 5. My friends who were there put me on to them. I have been a huge fan ever since. I am 71, and I reckon they are one of the best musician partners ever.
haha superb reaction, love it! and yes.. all 3 are not singing ROCK YOU, at least one (guess who) are singing F- you... :) please more DL why not a early one from when they started with twisted covers (before there first album), like "Baby" (Justin Biever) or "Rolling in the deep"

Yes, finally! Dirty Loops!!! Great review as allways! You are the best out there! Listen to their song Breakdown! So different and you will really love it!
Having you come back to another Loops rocker made my day...and it wasn't a bad day to begin with. Your merch looks total quality, just like your reactions. Great comments, love the knowledge and enthusiasm. I knew you'd get back to Loops and this was a great rocker on which to do so. By the way that is a very nice looking new drum set since the last time I checked in. I don't play an instrument myself so I'm feeling a little intimidated by your shirts, but they are soooo good I'm considering anyways. p.s. In a spare moment check out the Loops merch video. They've brought all the qualities you mentioned to that too.
I just discovered your channel and I enjoyed your commentary on Dirty Loops. Since the start of this COVID pandemic, I began watching reaction videos and in the process, I've discovered new bands and some amazing talent. I would love to see your reaction to Snarky Puppy.
Funny you should mention Jinjer on a DL reaction, because these two are my favourite youtube discoveries of last year! Also, thank you for saying that rock you/eff you thing out loud. At least i am not the only one hearing this. Also, Dirty Loops' cover of Ta Fete is dope.
About "Rock You" -- on closer inspection, it seems like a few times there is actually one of them switching out the "r" for an "f". Probably a not so very hidden joke, and perhaps a commentary on the prolific substitution words/phrases for sex in pop.
Yeah, I think it's intentional. "I just want to... Fuck you... Let's screw..." (Rock you / let's groove). "When it all comes down, there's only one thing on my mind." Yeah. We know what you're really singing.
Yeeees finally one more Dirty Loops reaction. Soo good! And finally I get to stop wondering if it was just me who think it sounds like F you 🤣 thought it was maybe just because english isn’t my native language (it’s swedish). I’m requesting more DL stuff, ”Next to You” or their new colab with Cory Wong ”Follow the light”.
Just so you know... according to Jonah hill this was originally written as "F You", but they thought that might not fly very well on RUclips so they changed it... the other thing that they Love you, is playing together! They actually like each other! A Lot!
lol it really does sound like "Fuck you... like dynamite! Like dynamite! - Let's screw! F-f-f-feels so good!" I have to really concentrate to hear the actual lyrics. I'm not sure if that says something about them or about my brain lol

I saw you mention in the comments on your last video about talking about how great you and Howie are. You’re both good, but to be great you gotta check out Aviations-Outliers 😉
You need to react to their side work. Songs for lovers, Old Armando had a farm and Coffee break is over! If you think Henrik impressed you before these two songs will blow your fucking mind!!!
I think I read somewhere that it's really supposed to be f ck you, but they played with the words and decided to sing rock you. 😂 It reminds me of the song with Earth, Wind and Fire - Let's groove tonight (scr ew) 😂 😁
you should check out Julien Bakers NPR Tiny Desk performance from March of 2016 whether you react or not it doesn't bother me but it is really a joy to experience her song writing.
My theory is that when Jonah solos, you're seeing him actually putting down the track you're hearing, and for Aron, every time you see the whole kit, that's his actual pass on the track as well. I've synched to performances enough to know there are certain rubato passages you just CAN'T sync your hands with, and both Aron's drumming and Jonah's soloing are just FULL of that kinda stuff. I.e., the drum solo in Work Shit Out? No way anyone would play every single stroke of that the same way twice. Same with Jonah's solo on that one. Everything else is sync'd to perfected tracks. That's my theory, anyway.
I understand what you're saying but live, merely all disgusting breaks are played exactly the same. The sound may differ however. There are more bands who are able to do that. Rush, Dream Theater for instance made this a subject of its own during the recording process: we have to be able to play EXACTLY the same over and over again.
