What do you even call this? It's dripping with pop sensibility, but it has these elements of prog, soul, funk, and rock. It's just about perfect, in my estimation. You said it best when you said how joyful they were. This group is just a celebration of music, isn't it? If you're a music nerd like we are, this is made for us. It's just pure ecstatic musicianship in it's most concentrated form. Genres be damned, this is for everybody.
If Ren were a band. Which he kinda is. He's in their league, and didn't attend jazz school, still a wizard at his craft #Ren #LosingIt Still here for Henrik's bass.
I had the absolute privilege and pleasure of seeing them live in NYC years ago. They’re IMPECCABLE live. Also met them after the show… super cool people, for sure. Keep up the great reactions, bro. 👊🏻
I often feel Jonah is underrated in Dirty Loops. He singing adds so much frunk to the songs and he is also for a large part responsible for the arrangements. Not even talking about his chops.
"Can't get enough" .... yep, that's me. They are amazing. Old Armando is so flat out fun. Lots of silliness. I love it when musicians are confident and skilled enough that they don't have to be deadly serious.
Aron's fills are so, so just perfect they almost sound as if they were pre-destined! Great reaction. Just love it when you're really showing the love and respect these three lads elicit. Smart comments and a good ride as always. Why isn't this a gold record it has everything. "Forever Young" and "Wake Me Up" featuring Aron just rocking a pair of brushes! Neither played as much as they should be.
Omg!! Yay! What a way to start my Tuesday! This is my fav from Dirty Loops! It has everything I love! Such a great jam, full of funk and fun and jazz and bliss! They are amazing. Love your reaction as always!
Thank you! This one is ridiculously good. I was working in my garden yesterday - def not my favorite thing to do. But man, raking leaves to Follow The Light, Next to You and Rock You, on repeat had me so pumped I finished up a weeks work in one afternoon. Always a pleasure watching these reactions. I feel your joy. Thanks again, and have nice evening:)
I used to mow my 5 acre property listening to “Loopified”. Month after month, never got tired of it. Wish I’d had “Phoenix” & “Turbo” to add to the playlist. Chores aren’t chores with DL.
After discovering Dirty Loops a couple of years ago, Rock You is still one of my favourites. I don't think I'll ever get tired of anything by Dirty Loops. Great reaction, as always!
Excellent reaction (as per usual)…perceptive, tasteful, humorous…and so much fun to see that DL sparkle in your eyes! It’s a sort of musical love affair. The first rounds can render the baffled, impressed but somewhat somber feeling…and then you tend to fall HARD, haha! And you just surrender to it, knowing it’ll be good before it even starts. The early stuff is great too, you should check out their covers of Britney, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and so on. And keep’em coming, already waiting to see the next one, you’re really good at this! 🤩👌🏻
I have watched and listened to a lot of reaction videos for Dirty Loops and so far you are on top cause I like that you let the song play in full without constant stops and analysis. great stuff.
What a super reaction! Such a joy to listen to Dirty Loops through your ears and eyes, man-. Yes, Aron is absolutely tearing it up in this song, as are Henrik and Jonah…. What a collaboration of musicians. Henrik, in a recent YT interview, cited Simon Petrén, the mixing and mastering engineer on most of their tracks, as ‘the fourth member of Dirty Loops’. Kudos to this guy and his insane musicianship 🙏 Again, your reaction was so joyous and reflected exactly what this song does to my skeleton (?) as well 🤣 Immensely looking forward to more of your DL reactions! Yeah, the Songs for Lovers series is fun and reveals that amazing chemistry between Aron and Henrik, as are Jonah Nilsson’s solo projects “Bad” and “Coffee Break”. Then there are all of Dirty Loops’ earlier covers and originals from their first album Loopified, all of them jaw dropping, as well as their brilliant take on the Samsung Galaxy ringtone. More joyfulness to look forward to! 💥☺️💥
Simon is credited with filming and, along with Aron, doing some of the video editing as well. He’s all over the Phoenix album. He certainly deserves to share the lime light.
Wonderful celebration of musical precision and exceptional feel coupled with a perfect presentation ! Sheer joy all around, sir. I continue to appreciate your raw enthusiam and insightful commentary, Steve. Hope you and the family are well and thriving. Keep up the good work !
Yes! Such a fun performance! Enjoyed that to the max. I've not found any of their videos bland or bad ... kinda like a singer that 'you know who'. Thanks for your reaction, dude.
This is such a banger, and your reaction was spot on (wonderful, fun, and informative) as always. I'd recommend having a look at their older covers as well; they manage to turn (in my opinion) mediocre pop songs to absolute top tier songs. Insane! Ta Fête, Forever Young, Rolling in the Deep, Baby, Just Dance, Circus, Prude Girl (or any of their overs, really) are all completely bonkers good. And yes, I am fangirling. How can you not, with musicians like these guys? :D Also, I realise you already did the live version of Hit Me, so it might not make sense to do the studio version as well, but you really need to check it out, at least for yourself. There are a few things, especially vocally, that will blow your mind in that one. :)
Yes! I love the studio recording of Hit Me which I’ve since listened to. It’s a corker. At some point I may get to those early covers folks are commenting about too.
Yes its "feeling good" music😀 And i guess you must be a drummer too because you notic all Arons magic, mr tasty. I recomend you to react to Jonahs new soloalbum and the track " Diamond ring"

Highest “talent per member” band on the planet imo
The band Tool also comes to mind when you say that. They are next level.

Brilliant musicianship with really cool chords and voicings. But with choruses completely accessible to the masses!
If you're doing Songs for Lovers next - Definitely watch Bitten by the Kitten before the 'quirky' Old Armando had a Farm
Ah this comment has come too late for me lol. I’ve now reacted to Armando. Will upload it in next few days. Kitten is on the list though!

Recommend “Over The Horizon“, and Jonah’s “Coffee Break” for a little change of pace without sacrificing even an ounce of Dirty Loops’ sensibilities.
