    Love your reactions to DL. Thanks for not stopping the video every 30 seconds. Yours are true reaction videos. The "capo" on Henrick's bass is a string damper for when he's slapping or tapping. Keeps other strings from sounding and it also gives him that nice cushiony tone. Jonah, Henrick and Aron have changed my life. I'm so glad these guy's came
    along. I am a 67 year old Gtr player and have played on stages since 1972, opened for many Big bands (TOP, AWB, Doobie's etc. I cry every time I hear these guys because they're such amazing players and they smile. Keep up the great work Steve.

    I just read in the comments that “Next to you” are next in line. 🤫😉That’s great news because I was also gonna suggest that same song. 😁🎶🎶 Thank u for reacting to the DL. They are 🔥🔥🔥🔥

    All three are virtuoso level. In a recent interview Jonah said that he never use auto-tune, he sings in chorus since early age. All three are top students of music in Royal Stockolm School of music, jonah, piano. Singing come later as an extension of his composition, producer skills. What's in the videos ? vocals "raw" showing an insane octave range , runs. I cannot recomend a song ,listen all !! Make a full series... it will jaw drop you.

    great reaction! you should definitely check out the studio version of this song, though not necessarily as a reaction video. it's just got a kind of iconic element at the end that's missing from the live version (understandably). don't want to spoil it for you though, but you won't regret giving it a listen

  • @petraljungberg

    Yes you just want to get into the groove and dance with a smile on your face! 😃
    You got some good suggestions from Meeuwes 😊 If you want to hear them play a ballad I suggest Breakdown.
    And yes on their youtube page you also find a couple of songs with Aron and Henrik (Songs for lovers project). Check that out! Their playing..!

    Excellent! And now that you've seen Hit Me (live), you must treat yourself to the studio version at your leisure, which is equally, & perhaps more impressive, because of the clarity of sound.There's always something to knock one's socks off, blow one's hair back, etc., & leave one grinning like mad!

    Don’t forget that Hit Me came out in 2014 and Follow the Light came out in 2021. I like to say they were still Baby Loops in 2014 and, while their style has evolved enormously since the covers, there is even more of an evolution from 2014 to their Phoenix album in 2020 and the Cory Wong collaborations in 2021.

    • @fiddlestix3025
      @fiddlestix3025 2 года назад +1

      Good points, Suzanne. And along with their general musical evolution, so too have their live performance skills evolved over the years (apart from COVID having thrown in a spanner to their live touring, for the last two years or so…) x

    Hit Me is the first track on their debut album which I have listened to so many times back then because each song is a frickin banger. I couldn't imagine how they could ever top that. But they did it with their new stuff, although it did need a bit of getting used to.

  • @darquemode1165
    @darquemode1165 2 года назад +4

    Yes, 6 string bass. In fact it's Henrik's signature bass from Mattisson, Series IV Henrik Linder Signature bass (single cut body and true temperament fretboard).

    I'm still working through how I feel about their live performances, this song in particular. But I will keep the specifics of why to myself. You'll definitely want to check out the album version, though. Since you said you had the recommendations from the previous reaction, I won't overwhelm you with more. Except "Next to You". You must do "Next to You".

      The top live performance in my opinion is Let’s Dance, it’s flawless, but otherwise the studio versions are the way to go from now on. Understand that you’ve got som much to discover, these two songs you’ve heard are a fraction of what they are capable of. Work shit out, Next to you, Rock you, and the cover of Thriller with Cory Wong, as well as their own covers of Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, Adele from 11-12 years ago.. and Jonah Nilsson solo project Diamond Ring with Steve Vai, his cover of Bad.. so now you’ve got something to occupy your time with.. promise you won’t regret it.

    Love your reaction videos. Check out Next To You. You will be blown away. And Work Shit Out. Hell, everything from their album Phoenix.
    The just released solo album by the singer/pianist Jonah Nilsson is also great. Try Coffee Break, Diamond Ring and the Michael Jackson cover of Bad. Dirty Loops and Cory Wong also did a cover of Thriller which is stellar.

    Да. Недостаток у таких партий появляется, потому, что иногда тяжело их исполнить на живой сцене, по ряду причин. Или вообще невозможно. С возрастом высокие ноты становятся недоступны. Как например у вокалиста Альянса с песней На заре которая уже никогда так не прозвучит в живую).

  • @stevenpippin6079
    @stevenpippin6079 2 года назад +1

    It wasn't a capo on the bass. Its a string wrap. It's wrapped loosely around the strings below where you intend to play to cut down on noise from strings you're not playing. Slapping and double thumbing is hard to keep clean and quiet on a 4 string. On 6 its just impossible.

    • @SteveOGRock
      @SteveOGRock  2 года назад +1

      Oh wow! I had no idea about this. Thanks for sharing that knowledge! Slap bass is way beyond my capabilities haha.

    Not the greatest performance from Jonah, But damn it's a hard song to sing, especially after a doing a lot of songs prior. You should check out their live performance of a cover during Melodifestivalen, It's called Undo.

    Yeah, I'm not sure about the decision to go for live videos when you've barely just discovered the band. Although their live performances are great, it could definitely wait until you've heard at least half a dozen of their releases.
