Maybe their version of thriller would knock you off the chair. Many who has reacted to it are flabbergasted. Thank you for loving my favorite band. 💯❤️🇸🇪
Was going to say the same. I think their Thriller will knock your socks off. Jonah sings first like MJ then like Stevie Wonder. 😄
David 8:09 "F-cking Henrik, dude! That's all I'm going to say."
That is all that needs to be said.
You know that when you give Grace Kelly stank face that you have done something awesome.
This is close to the perfect song. I love a lot of a music, a lot of genres but this song stands with the best of all time. I cannot believe everyone hasn't heard this masterpiece.
Or as a friend said many years ago "you have to listen to this, this is music for musicians". I am not, but he is and I am glad he introduced me to DL.
Your energy is infectious! I love sharing in the musical journey these guys put on, please keep reviewing their stuff!
This is a level 42 reincarnate track.....the song structure, melodic sense, pop corn(y) aesthetic that drives some fake sophisticates crazy with snobbery but is just joyous, watertight pockets, insane musicianship. (that's where that 80's sensibility pops up, in my view)
Your passion for music and music education comes through in each of your videos and I love it! Thanks for sharing your joy with all of us.
Love your reactions. Always so interesting, informative and enthusiastic.
I just have to point out that Quincy Jones is just their manager though. They produce their songs themselves, together with Simon Petrén. I heard one of them say, in an interview, that they don’t send Quincy anything, not even demos, until it’s completely finished. Also, they’re thinking so far outside of the box that they've completely lost sight of it, and it’s utterly brilliant. 😁
Dancing while trying to put on mascara. Gonna be late for work 🤣🤣
Go girl go!!!!
Dirty Loops is absolutely killing. I really love how their music is like appealing to most genres its really great to see people making easy to listen stuff which is still ... absolutely crazy!
Henrik is a beast. Legitimately my favorite bass player. I ordered his transcription book of their songs and can't wait to play through that.
Great songs.
In the pocket, when the groove is in a place that you have it locked in. . . Would you say that’s because groove is in the heart?
Cory co-wrote the songs. Cory and Aron created the set to coordinate the look so it looks like they are together. Cory and his horn section are in Minneapolis, and Dirty Loops are in Sweden. Check out Cory’s Wongnotes podcasts he explains it and also has an interview with Henrik.
Every time you react to a Dirty Loops track i fall off my chair laughing, as it's great to see how you respond to their music. It sends us all over the edge, glad i'm not the only one
Speaking of Thriller, DL and Cory Wong came out with their cover of Thriller by MJ, it's a must listen!
One comment for the algorithm ;) Your joy from their music is totally contagious! Also as a drummer myself i agree with you that one of the things that separate greatest drummers from the rest is being able to play relaxed.. i am slowly getting to playing fast 32nd notes around the kit but i am so tense while doing it, holding my breath..
Awesome!!! Make it a meditation. Breath, relax, play, rinse and repeat. It’s about training the muscles, the body to execute what the spirit desires.
@@MusicShed yep, that’s what it takes, exactly.
And to re-train what has become a knee-jerk reaction to many of us: playing fast and tightening up-, that takes time and patience…
Henrik said in an interview that he spends a lot of time practising minimal movements and effort when playing his bass- and you can tell, I reckon-. 👍
Great as always, Dave! Thanks so much!
Check out ”Turbo” with Dirty loops and Cory Wong. Funk like never before, you will love the horns!!!!
This is pop/jazz/funk Cory has to keep it chugging for that funky groove. Henrick is always going to be super pocket as well with those unreal licks. Their the best. Not just their technique but the composition is absolutely spot on. Bravo dudes
Let me jump on the bandwagon...NEED to react to their "Thriller" cover. It's Unbelievable. A polyrhythmic enigma; the only way these guys know how to do it. Digging your channel.
Can’t wait!
David listening to Dirty Loops, Snarky Puppy (and Bill Laurence's "Flint" project soon, ehem) is the best David. Great enthusiasm and insights.
What makes this video great is that it was shot remotely. DL shot their part in Sweden and Cory made an identical set and filmed himself and the horns in Minneapolis.
David--I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS VIDEO!!! I just happened upon it, remembering that you did these ;) Ryan introduced us to both Cory Wong and Dirty Loops, and I am obsessed with this collab album-esp this song. Thanks so much for your reactions and for making my day! XO
9:06 onward- PREACH BROTHER!
Friggen love the joy you brought into all of this and how you sprinkled theory in a fun way into your analysis! Love❤
Love your insightful analysis. DL & CW's cover of MJ's Thriller is a MUST! A schoolbook example of how to device an innovative variant of an iconic song that actually rivals the original. Pls react soon!
Gotta gotta gotta do Thriller, David.
I love your energy over the song. Hands down one of the best tracks I’ve heard in a while. Something about it brings me back… feels like early 2000s.. not sure where to place it. Like Bruce Hornsby meets John Secada meets Michael Jackson.
What you said about control really resonates with me: You got to build as a musician to free yourself up.
I love your comments, breakdowns and the overall enthusiasm you bring to your reactions. Always get psyched when I see you've got a new posting. Keep up the great work...and oh yeah you made a slight reference to something having a slight "Thriller" feel. Could I take that to mean you either don't realize or maybe have plans to react to the Cory, DL rendition of "Thriller?" This is a righteous treatment of a beloved classic. They did the original justice and still made it their own. How amazing is that!
I was so excited to see that you were doing a reaction to this song! I LOVE this song! It was so fun to be able to groove along with you, I get just as excited about this band as you, great reaction.😊
Oh, I really love Dirty Loops and watching you react to them. I mean, it’s basically the same reaction I have, but on another person’s face, hahahahaha.
Ps. I’d love it if you reacted to Leprous, specially Slave - Live at Rockefeller Center.
Oh that opening riff was so good. I love saturday in the park
The sax players face during the solo, realizing that someone was going to need to wash that bass guitar after that absolutely filthy riff.
Filthy
They just keep getting better? Loops are probably the best group going right now...like Tower of Power meets Genesis.
So interesting and joyful reaction, U must!! React to ”thriller” because DL and Cory create magic version and not many artist dare to take on a MJ hit✨✨😁
The fast triplet figures were first put forth by Earth Wind and Fire, (see "Shining Star). Then Quincy Jones used it for Michael Jackson and even his own works The tuned 16th-note percussion is straight from Quincy Jones/Michael Jackson collaborations.
You should do Cory Wong x Dirty Loops Turbo and Rings of Saturn. Those two songs are the other two both of those artists did, and alot of reaction channels are not checking them out.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet, but this is 2 videos, filmed on different sides of the pond, and then seamlessly edited as 1!!!!!!!! Cory talked about this during his podcast with Henrik. Don't know about you, but I'm Gobsmacked!
Your joy is infectious! I love it 🤩
+1 for thriller from them
..sounds like a crossover collab between MJ and Toto :)
Totally
I'd like to see you react to their song "Breakdown" as well. It's a change of pace to songs like Follow the Light, but it's amazing and Jonah really shows off his range in that song.
Hey man. Love the videos! At 7:34 you mention “thriller”, and you might already know this, but the dirty loops actually covered thriller in this same album with Cory Wong. You should check it out!
Another great reaction! You’re the only content creator I would become a patron for (if that became available 👀)
It’s legit when a music reaction makes you bring in the keys.
So great reaction 😊🤘
Me too. Can't wait till they come back to Australia.
8:02. . When the sax chick makes the 'stank face' you KNOW it's *FUN-KAY!!!* .
Love it! Just throwing it out there again… Eidola - mutual fear came out recently. They are on tour with Dance Gavin Dance and when tilian got COVID, their singer has been doing his full set AND filling in for Tilian for a headline set.
Henrik got the memo and the highlighter.
Let's go! ❤️👍
Nice shirt!
If you didn't know Cory and the horns are in Minnesota and dirty Loops are in Stockholm then spliced together By Aron.
congrats on your sponsor!
You know what would be insanely cool?
You having a conversation with Jonah, talking about the intricacies of music, harmony, arrangement, theory and so on.
Just diving Mariana Trench-deep on all the different related subjects.
I know he's willing to, because he's already done it with smaller channels.
It would add a layer to this channel that'd be appreciated by every single musician following your channel.
Love to
@@MusicShed Hit him up on Instagram and set it up, brother. It would make my month to see that drop on the feed.
Have you seen their cover of Thriller yet? Would really love your input on that one. Or Turbo, and Ring of Saturn (which can both be found on Cory Wong's channel), from the same album? Going to cross my fingers that we're getting your point of view on them in the near future. :)
Your face during the intro run kills me.
The blue-haired woman is another musical phenom. You may know her, but if not, take a listen to Grace Kelly and her Go Time performances.
Talked about Locked in!!
This makes life worth living! #lottalove
hey you should totally listen to hospital bracelet! "sober haha jk unless" is a really good one by them, they are similar to modern baseball! i would love to hear what you think
Great reaction again! I really look forward listningen to you reacting to DL. You must check out Breakdown... 🙏😃
Cory is a rhythm player!
You know Dirty Loops and Cory Wongs band arent there together?! they both filmed their parts at seperate times and 2 different parts of the world and it was edited to make it seem like theyre all there together 🤯
You'd love pretty much everything about Silent Planet's new track(s) Terminal / (liminal).
Start with Dirty Loops, add Toto (with Michael McDonald), throw in some Pat Metheny, then add a little Level 42 and the world would explode.
pleeease do "Where the Owls Know My Name" Rivers of Nihil
And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope - Ne Obliviscaris
I would love if you would react to Ren and Sam Tompkins, anything thry have done, but i would recommend earned it/it's a man's world/falling, or blind eyed, which has a green thumbnail
Where are your headphones!!!❤
You've GOT to try Jacob Collier's Tiny Desk (Home) Concert. There are 3 songs; you could do them one at a time.
Aviations-Outliers
Please react to Peter Collins- is this love/stay together 👏🏾❤️
Man your content it always great. You should check sleep tokens new album, especially “mine”
David.....Eidola Mututal Fear feat. Jon mess......plllllease
React to Simon Grey Takuma perfekt song to react to, so many hidden gems in the song.
I want to react to you playing piano ...not just goofin around , actually playing a song ....a cover , something you wrote ....GIVE ME WHAT I WANT .....please 😜😁
reminds me of nsync and michael jackson lol
Hi... Just subscribed...
Have you tried Dirty Loop's "Next to you"?
Not yet
@@MusicShed Thanks for answering...
Try it... The voices are amazing...
And kinda "rollercostery"...
21st Century " Mozart's " .
Morgan fiddling with his organ...
Always
Grace Kelly on bari
So many reaction videos everywhere. They are almost reproducing like Bunnie's.
YEES!!! FIRST?👀
1st Place Pedro!!!!
How are you gonna let Sleep Token release yet another album before you've even experienced 10% of their magic?
We filmed it! Out this week brother
I mean it's all great and all but this is recorded in a studio unfortunetly. they do sound tight but you can hear the qauntamizing and other studio magic during the track, don't get me wrong thier great musicans but don't be fooled by studio magic.
"First time im seeing Jonah not behind a keyboard" and you are doing a Reaction?? erm hmmmm!!! REALLY!!!! :)
I mean, yes, I am
The singer is a cross between Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder........amazing vocals and his range is in the stratosphere ! 💯💢
Stop pausing the video that much lol
Dude I pause like a mofo
You missed everything important in this video.
Please tell me what l missed
@@MusicShed David, it’s your channel, and I really appreciate your takes. You do you.
I just think you missed the “bass line within a bass line” where Henrik is hitting fast triplets while maintaining an awesome groove. You’ll also note they keep the transition to chorus WITHOUT a 7th until the very last refrain, which I thought was very noteworthy- it kept the tension high until the end of the song, and you were correct where they modulate at the very end- it’s very effective. And on a personal note, I was drawn to the brass arrangement immediately. It’s simply phenomenal. Also note Aron’s deft switch to third time during the end of the bass solo.
I’m just used to you nailing the technical stuff more than you did this time. But I suppose I would be distracted if someone handed me a shiny new Korg, too. 😉
This was not meant as a criticism, by the way. Just an observation. Keep up the good work! You have one of the best channels out there.
And while you don’t need to react to it, I highly advise watching “Rings of Saturn” on the same album. Masterful.
And whatever you do, DO NOT WATCH THIS JONAH VIDEO.
Gotta be Take 6 on the backing.
ruclips.net/video/3mK1smj5rzQ/видео.html
Too many interupptions brother. And of you're gonna play along make it for your ears only, not ours. Henrik forever!
You are so ridiculous... stop touching the keys while they are playing!!! Nothing can touch them - period. Jeez
I hate it when you play along.. for real
Me too!
Then place yourself behind a desk or something else...just not the keyboard...if we liked your play, we would buy your CD...or not!
