God doesn't ask us to wait and have sex with our spouse only, just for kicks or because he wants us to suffer. I hear christian women that didn't wait, often say that only after they were married in a Godly relationship that they saw why God tells us that. But even now, I recently studied the biological, psychological. as well as the spiritual reasons, and I see clearly why God calls us to have that intimacy with our spouse only. So consider doing some digging yourself, since its such a personal act of obedience and trust in God

I am so glad to see this movement growing amongst our Christian sisters and speakers. Yay, Abba Father! Too many of us have been brainwashed to believe that our worth, value, and love can only be found in our sexuality when nothing could be further from the truth. Valuable things are kept behind glass cases and guarded at night (think of the crown jewels). Not everyone gets to behold them. I come home every day from work, make dinner and eat alone. Go to bed and no one is here. Wake up and it's only me. Sometimes it's not easy. So I definitely have been trying to get back into the word and watch videos to help me out.
This is great advice. We sometimes get so caught up in feeling lonely that we rush into relationships and God is saying to us "hold on my child, I have your back" :). BTW it is not weird to wait several months before holding hands or kissing. That is what I would do.

This video really has made me take a look at this again. I completely agree with you Becca! One thing though that I have always been struggling with though is patience. However, I can gladly say that time has been a great thing in my life because without it I think my life wouldn't be what God has wanted it to be thus far. God defiantly implements time in his plans for a reason. Although I have never been in an actually relationship (and am almost out of high school) and patience has been a struggle, I know that I will get through it and that things will turn out great in the end through God's plan. I wish I had had your insights in these regards when I was your age, but am grateful to be having them now as God continues a great change in my heart. Patience is so critical when seeking lasting character. Too often we are magnetized by various forms of attractive looks or behavior, which never create lasting fulfillment, and almost always end up to be fleeting and opposite from our original expectations. It is hard to wait for the right person, as I now have been doing that for some years, and have come to a point in which I will not date, and will continue to focus on my own changing heart, which God is graciously working on, until I truly sense that I have met someone who I believe is highly likely to be my lifetime companion that God has provided for me(and I for her). I want a guy who is either a born again virgin or virgin. My parents and friends say that’s great and all but that I’d better pray for a miracle or not be so picky. Honestly needed this video bc sometimes I feel crazy with my high expectations.
A lot of brothers in my life have chosen to remain unmarried for life, because they want to serve God exclusively and with undivided devotion! They have the gift Paul speaks of in 1 Corinthians 7. I was not gifted so, bit I was so emotionally wounded growing up that I was unable to connect romantically or emotionally with women. I could not date or be in a relationship. God wanted me to allow him to heal me, but I was stubborn and tried to find a spouse in spite of the fact I was so messed up. I went through 20 years of great pain and suffering. I came to realize God knows what we need better than we do.
Something I would add to this: I believe we should not just be waiting for the best possible husband/wife, but especially continually aspire to grow in our faith and our love for God and the people around us ourselves - note: not by ourselves, it's only through God that we can do this, Phil. 2:13 - in such a way that, when the time comes, we may also be ready to be the most godly husband/wife to that person that God may give us to. Another side-note: singleness is also a possible calling (1 Cor. 7:34)
While it's fine to pursue the best mate you can find, be careful you don't set a path that leads to a life of isolation and loneliness. All of life is a compromise.

How does Becca do it? How is it that every new vid she puts out somehow pertains to what I'm currently going through? I am almost 22yo, and I have never had a girlfriend. I have always wanted to be in a relationship, but over time I fear my motives for said relationship have shifted. A lot... and I mean, a LOT of people I know who are about 1 year older than me are starting to get married, leaving me with an overbearing sense of loneliness. It's fine if they're happy, but it's like with everyone in my life entering relationships except for me, I can't help but feel like life is saying "Hey, someone needs to get the shaft, and it ain't gonna be these guys..." Envy is a sin, and greed is a sin. I don't feel content being by myself, so does that make me greedy for wanting to love a Christian girl while I am still young? And I'm already angry at all the people who are dating cause I'm still singled out! God doesn't pick favorites, but it sure as heck feels like it.
I know that you're not happy that you're not in a relationship but all you've gotta do is wait for God. He knows when the right time is. I'm a teenager and I have no experience when it comes to relationships i.e, having a boyfriend but I'm not gonna let anyone bring me down. The Bible says that there's a time for everything so just wait and if its still bothering you and if you've decided that you're actually ready to marry then pray to God about it. If you've figured out that you don't want to get married then just pray to God or even speak to the people upsetting you and tell them how you feel, it might help.

Yes!:) You totally should! I used to wear it on my left hand but everyone would always ask me, "are you married??" haha so I decided to switch it to my right hand in like March of this year. People did ask me a lot about it in high school! For the most part, people were super nice about it, but occasionally I got a little bit of sass back from people and that was sometimes discouraging. But I think it's great you want to wear one too. :)

First things first, I really like all your videos. I was wondering if I could ask your advice. I am a single christian male and have wanted to have a girlfriend, but I think the reasons are for the wrong reasons just not to be lonely and all. I want to wait for marriage to have kids and don't know how to really get a woman to like me. I know i shouldn't be, but i'm afraid my standards are too high, or that the guy that would meet those standards doesn't exist. The only requirement God has for our spouse is that they are christian, and it's very discouraging when i meet great guys who tick off all my boxes except for that one, which is the biggest and most important. Knowing that born again christians are a remnant in the world also doesn't help much. I've started to work towards having peace with the possibility of dying single, and it's really hard, but i think that's better than to keep on waiting and hoping and looking for something that doesn't exist - and even if he does exist, what are the odds of me meeting him? There are billions of people all over the world. Also, as some in the comments say, i don't believe God ordains a spouse for you to marry. That's not what has been happening throughout the Bible. Men just took wives to themselves, the only man who got a woman made for him was adam, simply because women didn't even exist yet. God gives us freedom and responsibility in choosing a mate, and He will bless our choices, and be with us through hard times. And this is just another reason why i see my relationship-future kinda gloomy.

Aww thank you so much!! I'm so glad to hear that! So I think everyone wishes that we would just date one person and marry them, but honestly it is pretty rare that that happens! We should always date people we think we could potentially marry, but even those relationships sometimes don't work out! Dating helps us to really learn about ourselves and others, and a lot of times God allows us to date certain people and breakup with them so we can learn from those relationships and to grow. There are no perfect people in this world, so we will hurt each other, but God never allows us to go through pain without a purpose. All things work together for good, so even when those relationships don't work out, we can trust that God has a better plan. So we should never settle for dating someone we don't like, or date someone who isn't a Christian, but we should be intentional with who we choose to date. Everything will fall into place then. :) Hope this helps!!

What an awesome video. You are wise beyond your years, and your good spirit shows in the way you speak to your audience. I wish I had had your insights in these regards when I was your age, but am grateful to be having them now as God continues a great change in my heart. Patience is so critical when seeking lasting character. Too often we are magnetized by various forms of attractive looks or behavior, which never create lasting fulfillment, and almost always end up to be fleeting and opposite from our original expectations. It is hard to wait for the right person, as I now have been doing that for some years, and have come to a point in which I will not date, and will continue to focus on my own changing heart, which God is graciously working on, until I truly sense that I have met someone who I believe is highly likely to be my lifetime companion that God has provided for me(and I for her). A lot of brothers in my life have chosen to remain unmarried for life, because they want to serve God exclusively and with undivided devotion! They have the gift Paul speaks of in 1 Corinthians 7. I was not gifted so, bit I was so emotionally wounded growing up that I was unable to connect romantically or emotionally with women. I could not date or be in a relationship. God wanted me to allow him to heal me, but I was stubborn and tried to find a spouse in spite of the fact I was so messed up. I went through 20 years of great pain and suffering. I came to realize God knows what we need better than we do.
Something I would add to this: I believe we should not just be waiting for the best possible husband/wife, but especially continually aspire to grow in our faith and our love for God and the people around us ourselves - note: not by ourselves, it's only through God that we can do this, Phil. 2:13 - in such a way that, when the time comes, we may also be ready to be the most godly husband/wife to that person that God may give us to. Another side-note: singleness is also a possible calling (1 Cor. 7:34)

How does Becca do it? How is it that every new vid she puts out somehow pertains to what I'm currently going through? I am almost 22yo, and I have never had a girlfriend. I have always wanted to be in a relationship, but over time I fear my motives for said relationship have shifted. A lot... and I mean, a LOT of people I know who are about 1 year older than me are starting to get married, leaving me with an overbearing sense of loneliness. It's fine if they're happy, but it's like with everyone in my life entering relationships except for me, I can't help but feel like life is saying "Hey, someone needs to get the shaft, and it ain't gonna be these guys..." Envy is a sin, and greed is a sin. I don't feel content being by myself, so does that make me greedy for wanting to love a Christian girl while I am still young? And I'm already angry at all the people who are dating cause I'm still singled out! God doesn't pick favorites, but it sure as heck feels like it.
I know that you're not happy that you're not in a relationship but all you've gotta do is wait for God. He knows when the right time is. I'm a teenager and I have no experience when it comes to relationships i.e, having a boyfriend but I'm not gonna let anyone bring me down. The Bible says that there's a time for everything so just wait and if its still bothering you and if you've decided that you're actually ready to marry then pray to God about it. If you've figured out that you don't want to get married then just pray to God or even speak to the people upsetting you and tell them how you feel, it might help.

Yes!:) You totally should! I used to wear it on my left hand but everyone would always ask me, "are you married??" haha so I decided to switch it to my right hand in like March of this year. People did ask me a lot about it in high school! For the most part, people were super nice about it, but occasionally I got a little bit of sass back from people and that was sometimes discouraging. But I think it's great you want to wear one too. :)

First things first, I really like all your videos. I was wondering if I could ask your advice. I am a single christian male and have wanted to have a girlfriend, but I think the reasons are for the wrong reasons just not to be lonely and all. I want to wait for marriage to have kids and don't know how to really get a woman to like me. It seems like every-time I talk to a Christian girl she is not very interested (maybe I need more to talk about). What could I do better next time?

I know i shouldn't be, but i'm afraid my standards are too high, or that the guy that would meet those standards doesn't exist. The only requirement God has for our spouse is that they are christian, and it's very discouraging when i meet great guys who tick off all my boxes except for that one, which is the biggest and most important. Knowing that born again christians are a remnant in the world also doesn't help much. I've started to work towards having peace with the possibility of dying single, and it's really hard, but i think that's better than to keep on waiting and hoping and looking for something that doesn't exist - and even if he does exist, what are the odds of me meeting him? There are billions of people all over the world.
Also, as some in the comments say, i don't believe God ordains a spouse for you to marry. That's not what has been happening throughout the Bible. Men just took wives to themselves, the only man who got a woman made for him was adam, simply because women didn't even exist yet. God gives us freedom and responsibility in choosing a mate, and He will bless our choices, and be with us through hard times. And this is just another reason why i see my relationship-future kinda gloomy.

So I think everyone wishes that we would just date one person and marry them, but honestly it is pretty rare that that happens! We should always date people we think we could potentially marry, but even those relationships sometimes don't work out! Dating helps us to really learn about ourselves and others, and a lot of times God allows us to date certain people and breakup with them so we can learn from those relationships and to grow. There are no perfect people in this world, so we will hurt each other, but God never allows us to go through pain without a purpose. All things work together for good, so even when those relationships don't work out, we can trust that God has a better plan. So we should never settle for dating someone we don't like, or date someone who isn't a Christian, but we should be intentional with who we choose to date. Everything will fall into place then. :) Hope this helps!!
