This is a fun, opinionated piece I’ve been cooking up for a while :) It is by no means intended to insult your choices! I just want to _provoke_ some thought haha. My opinions are my own and I am by no means right about everything here. Let me know what you think! Would love to hear what you agree with and what you don’t.
I appreciate your opinion on Mobile technology. Bringing good stuff every time is superb. I like your way of explaining in vedios . Keep going on . In my opinion I am huge fan of Iphone 14 pro but no money no phone .......
Thank you for the video. It really helps this Samsung fan-girl get over her Apple internal shame. Former Nokia user, Sony Ericsson user, iPhone 4 and 4s user, Nokia Lumia user, Note 4 user, Samsung S7 user, Moto Z, Note 8, Note 9, OnePlus 8, Note 20, iPhone SE (2020), iPhone 12 Mini and 14 Pro. I've returned Sony Xperia 5iv, S23. Daily phone - 14 Pro. All because of my dependence on Siri on my Apple Watch series 6. I wished I didn't like how well iOS works (really invested in Siri Shortcuts) for me.
Most of your points fall off when you compare the entry flagship models. Comparing the galaxy s23 and the iPhone 14 is a completely different story compared to comparing the s23 ultra to the 14 pro max. I do think your video is very well made and I respect your opinion.
nah, my friend in New York said people make you live with an iPhone, it is peer pressure, and he is a smart guy, he said, owning an iPhone saves you alot of trouble
Nobody outside the US cares about stuff like that. In Germany I’ve sent like 5 messages via iMessage in the last 5 years. Nobody uses FaceTime. I like my iPhone for work, but personally I prefer my Pixel 8 a hundred times more. If you are older than 20 and still use a phone to define your personality something went terribly wrong in your life
The sad thing is that both parties (Android and iPhone) have people online going "my company had this for so long!!1!1" when no one was even talking about said other company or saying one did it better than the other
As a ux engineer, apple's accessibility features as well how the user uses the phone to do simple tasks are horrible. A simple change for settings in app has multiple steps. How the notifications come up, control panel buttons are designed with an all knowing user in mind, which again is horrible. I think the only thing apple knows how to do is marketing. Neither hardware nor software is optimized well enough for older or people with disabilities.
You can give feedback regarding this directly if you signed up for the Dev Program. Besides I didn't find anything you mentioned in iOS or iPad OS as you mentioned. So I am not sure if you are speaking about Android or any other os?
I think this argument truly only makes sense in the North America and maybe Japanese markets. Down in my country, iPhones hold only a paltry 6% market share. It's true that that's mostly driven by price too. the iMessage lock-ins don't exist anywhere else in the world outside of North America either.
All very fair statements. I just purchased the the S23 Ultra and love it! I have been an iPhone guy since the iPhone 3GS. I'm all in on the Apple eco system with Apple Watch Ultra, Airpod's, MacBook Pro, iPad's, Home Pod Mini. But you know what? I was bored as hell with the iPhone and iOS. I wanted all the customizing features that Android allows. I wanted split screen apps on a big ass phone. I wanted 10x zoom, I wanted the ability to side load APK's cause I'm a grown ass man and don't need Apple telling me I'm not smart enough to make those decisions. I'm lucky that I can make my "work phone" be the Ultra and still keep my iPhone 13 mini for all the great things Apple does. I know most don't have that luxury.
That's a really good comment like damn this is gonno sound stupid, but that's a really goodamn good comment. It was clean smooth an punches the point in your face.
I'm an 🍎 customer that also got bored of the iPhone, my S23U is a beast and features like the S-pen I use at work, what I'll never give up is my MacBook because I utterly hate Windows
I find no one asks when you have a new iPhone but so many ask me about my Pixel 7 Pro. It's different and they're curious. They won't switch but they do ask 😊
My critique of your arguments is how you frame the iPhone and its operating system as normative and everything else on the market as questionable deviations, especially when you couldn't find a reason why you preferred the iPhone. You tried to find quantitative evidence to back up your points but then criticized some Android phones and features as "trying too hard" or just odd. This strange positioning is the throughline that anchors your piece, and ultimately leaves it on shaky ground. It's also glaring that you omit the most obvious reason for most people (in the United States) for preferring an iPhone, its place as a status symbol and as the "normal" smartphone option, which you yourself reaffirm. But at the end of the day, these corporations are all hegemonic capitalist entities, and arguing over which phone is better doesn't do anything to improve material conditions or bridge solidarity, quite the opposite as green and blue bubbles continue to their rivalry.
Starting from the Pixel 6 and Material You/Android 12, the Pixel phones and the software is a perfect combination. Almost all the Google apps take on the color schemes of the wallpaper on the pixel and also the design. Plus the Pixels now are just as smooth as ios and the animations are nice.
about to ditch samsung in favor of a pixel, not just because it's a more cohesive product but because I'm sick of Samsung's bullshit game optimization service forcibly nerfing resolution and making everything look like shit
@@syn010110you can just disable or take your games out of game launcher if you don't like to that's good thing about One UI that you can pretty much customise everything
The one big issue I've always had with iPhones and iOS in particular is Apple's strict policy to limiy their customers to use the phones the way they want you to. I've always felt that I never truly owned my iPhone despite having paid full price for it
Android is not much better on that front these days. Android is still great under the surface, but you have to dig for it. You can’t just buy a Pixel and say “now I have a phone I REALLY own.” You have to go through all the work of weeding out Google software or installing a custom rom.
Well there is definitely a balance, if you let unsophisticated users install heaps of random stuff the end is inevitably going to be a very sticky one. Google is much the same these says anyways, they've begun to realize that the walled garden model is essential to ensure people are using quality apps and not random spyware.
i read this 100 times and still not sure what is meant.... lets see: i can call... text ......surf the web, look at and use apps... what a nebulous statement, is this how politics is talked about... throw away statements and enough npc's nod their heads.. ??
I paid $1,000 for a Google Pixel. I can never go back to iOS after trying Android it just feels like a downgrade and it kind of makes me angry whenever I see an ad or my wallpaper. I really want to change it so badly but I can't. It makes me extremely angry and it was really unhealthy for my mental health so I got rid of it
i laugh when you say iphone is thoughtful, when you need to scour the setting just to change camera setting or any app, and they didn't even have auto brightness shortcut on their toolbar, the apps is just scattered on the setting, you cannot move widget app shortcut freely, the keyboard sucks, editing text sucks, there's no clipboard, no splitscreen, file management is bad, no sync on third party app most of the time, airdrop is often not working. i admit the phone is pretty, but you're not liking the ios but tolerate it.
1. yeah, settings are inside the 'settings' app. Literally logical. 2. The apps aren't 'scattered' in the seetings, they're in a dedicated 'apps' section, organized alphabetically, with a big ass search bar on the top. 3. You can definitely move widgets freely 4. The keyboard sucks how exactly? And you can install third party keyboards anyway. 5. editing text is literally the best experience of any OS. Just long press the search bar to precisely move the cursor, touch the keyboard to start selection, 3 finger gestures for copy/paste. It's so much better than android I have no idea what you're on. 6. yeah no clipboard sucks 7. Splitscreen on a 6 inch display is a horrendeous UX and should be ilegal. There's not a single instance were PiP+swiping back and forth isn't quicker and a much better UX 8. File management isn't bad??? Lmao you android users say it's bad cuz it doesn't let you access root files but why the hell would anyone want to access root files ON A PHONE? What are you gonna do there? Write a fucking app in the terminal??? Lmao. The actual app is much better than android's with tags, better search, more options for formattings and more view modalities. 9. Ok have you ever used an iPhone??? Cuz third party apps ABSOLUTELY do sync 10. Yeah airdrops needs to be better.
The main problem with android phones for me (as an android user) is that apps designed to work on both platforms (such as snapchat and instagram) are much better optimised for ios than android. It wouldn't make me switch, but it's extremely annoying.
yeah i had this issue years ago spotify, insta & netflix & internet browser just looked so much better on ios. switched to apple . i used to like android since you can downIoad apk’s like for free games & modded apps. i don’t do games anymore so i don’t need it anymore
For many years why they aren't optimized for the apps I feel like they are ignoring it.. maybe because celebrities are using iphones so they are just improving for iphone only
The apps I use are worse iPhone. Firefox is nerfed on iOS. it feels clunky. the keyboard is horrible. I missed my customization. The apps that I use for Android are exclusive to Android and the best part is that it isn't subscribtion based. And if you tell me just to download another keyboard, then you can download another messaging app too, but I bet you wont.
@@MultiTacsAs a South Korean, i found Americans who visits my nation to be the most selfish and supremacists on the entire globe. 😊 They even blamed South Koreans in South Korea only because they can't speak fluent English just like them. Do they really think that English is the only language that every other nation speaks? I really had horrible experience with Americans.
I bought a Samsung foldable and can say that even a lot iPhone users describe it as a very fascinating phone. Even though most of them wouldn’t buy it, because it’s got no iOS, they still definitely kind of like it.
@Arnab Ganguly same I went from the iPhone 11 pro max to the fold 3. Not only will I not be able to ios I don't think I can go back to a candy bar phone. Camera on smart phones suck in general anyways. That's why people have been going back to digital point and shoots.
One thing people seem to forget about Android updates... they aren't really all that important. Most of Androids core functionality and security features are tied into the Google Play Services and Play Security updates. Even if a phone doesn't get Android updates anymore, new features and fixes are being pushed through GMS. (for example Nearby share, RCS, Google Pay and all the features of stock Google apps etc.) Heck, devices running as old version as Android 6 (released in 2015!!) still get all of those.
@@itscesarbtch3451 New Iphone updates make older phones slower, even when you replace the battery. I know because I had an Iphone X, Ipad Mini 3, and Ipad Pro 10.5, they all ran beautifully under Apple's new iOS updates were pushed on to them after a year or so. And you can only hold off updates until they push an automatic update on you. I would rather get no update than updates that make my device worse.
Exactly! And within a couple years of iPhones not getting updates, a lot of third party apps just won’t work anymore, which isn’t the case with many older androids that aren’t being updated.
I also use both iOS and Android. Personally, I like what Samsung is doing with their S Range. The designs are now a lot more fixed and incremental. Just the jump from S22 to S23 is a refinement as opposed to a huge change as they did back in the day. One UI is also similar. It’s now evolution versus revolution. One could argue that the likes of Samsung have actually shifted to a more ‘boring’ approach to their smartphones, having found their formula and doubling down….of course taking a page out of Apple’s playbook
I didnt really like what they were doing before with the S series, where they seemed to unnecessarily change the position of the camera every year, but now theyve got this
I think your opinion is fitting for people living in the US. Im from germany and noone i know is using iMessage, FaceTime or any other Apple exclusive apps. I switched from an Iphone to a Pixel 6a and the only thing i miss is ApplePay.
It’s not only those apps, it’s how much better designed the apps are and supported on iOS that draws people in. Not to mention the integration with its own ecosystem
@@NeptuneSega no one cares about app design except developers. people buy based on peer pressure and that alone. and once they buy, they don't change as people usually cant make long time changes.
1. Apple is changing is design on iphone 15. Apparently they will make the back glass curved. So even apple knows their design is not "human". Both the Samsung and Pixel has slimmer bezels if you take into account the thickness of the iphone bezel. The punch hole camera is "just there" because it is aimed to be less intrusive than the dynamic island which claims a quite bit of screen surface area thanks to its redundant software features (fancy multitasking). Samsung and Pixel dont "jam" the software upon the hardware. Tensor G2 is a custom made chip that is optimized to run Android and its softwares. Google specifically tune its camera hardware through software algorithm which is why they are the best in the game. Tensor is world famous for its AI capabilities which powers Android 13's AI goodness. Samsung also spends a considerable amount of time on their one UI and good lock modules, Bixby is specifically tuned to harness Snapdragon's AI prowess. 2. Since the iphone camera gets the "job done", and this is a solid pro of the iphone according to you, many of the android features also get the "job done" better than the iphones, USB type C, fast charging, ability to sideload apps to name a few. And if hardware doesn't matter, why the iphone 14 pro has a 48MP camera, 120hz display, Face ID, superior haptic motor? Surely apple didn't need to put such superior hardware in to their phones if hardware "didn't matter" and since more conventional alternative hardwares get the "job done" in android phones. 3. Cherry picking Android faults wont help since ios is full of faults and limitations. Apple users still need to get into system settings to change camera settings which is a huge design and functionality flaw. You just mentioned that Pixel and S23 have superior camera hardware. So isn't it normal for the phones to have a bit of shutter lag because the processor is processing more data from the superior lenses? You say full frame cameras are better than the 200MP S23 camera, which is true, so if are you concerned about the image color, just get a DSLR! Surely DSLR is better than the iphone camera, right? You seem to hate artificial processing, just get a DSLR and shoot raw. 4. If there were careful thoughts behind ios design, why its setting page looks clattered, notification management is crap, one handed mode is a joke and no interactive widgets? OxygenOS being your favorite says it all. Typical US user uses his phone for 2.8 years. Samsung offers 4 years of android updates, even though it doesn't need to because android is a complete OS, google and Samsung can just change the look of their UI and call it an update because theres not many feature to add to android where as oh boy, ios has a looooong way to go and certainly needs a looooot of updates! This is why Google should charge people to upload videos on RUclips. A platform Where anybody can upload a video can certailnly lose its credibility as a platform. Its not your fault, theres just lack of youtube laws. It was a great iphone ad tho. Keep it up and apple will sponsor you.
Nobody* = little kids/teens in the US, rest of the world laughs at people who are buying iphones that essentially do less compared to even budget androids but for a higher price
Check the recent global market share of the iPhone against ANY single android company . Not android as a whole because android is a platform and that would be unfair. Just one android company. Apple always has more market share
@@noah-j00 I guess I misinterpreted. But it’s safe to assume that higher sales volume will eventually equate to an undeniably larger market share in apples favor no?
@@michealadebz because when someone wants to buy an iOS device, they have one single phone to choose but when someone wants an android, they have a lot more to choose from so obviously the sales are gonna be more spread out across different phones.
@@michealadebz That sounds like a dumb argument. We have option and that's the whole point. You have one option making it get higher number of sales. You can only check Android as a whole. Even with such heavy competition, Samsung is managing to be really close to iPhone. So that's like a real winner.
I was close to switching to the iphone 14 pro this year before I realized they removed the physical sim card which is essential for someone like me that likes to have two phones all year round. Such a stupid decision by apple.
For the past 20 years I have bought multiple phones a year to try out. The past 5 devices I had were a Pixel 6 Pro, S21 Ultra, S22 Ultra, 13 Pro Max, now the Pixel 7 Pro. I feel they have all stagnated a lot. Once you get over the honeymoon phase its the day to day things experience that matters. Does the battery last all day, and do you like holding it in your hand for hours a day? I have found myself getting tired of all of them for ergos, or battery life. The 13 Pro Max was the first phone I had that lasted two days on a charge, but its weight and sharp lower edges made it uncomfortable to hold. I recently decided I just dont like the hand feel of the 7 Pro, not to mention its software quirks. So I bought an S21 Ultra with 16/512GB model in excellent refurbished condition for $539. I will just use this until something revolutionary happens. No more bi-annual upgrades for me. Im done.
One thing I'll mention is that while Software support *has used* to suck on Android, things have changed MASSIVELY in the last circa 12 months. Both Google and Samsung will now offer *7 YEARS* of software support, so... maybe they have beaten Apple at their own game? Maybe? We'll see. A lot of other phone brands also now offer at least 5 years of security patches and variably longer major OS update support (which is not as good but at least somewhat close).
@@elonnut One thing I'm curious about is how often will the software updates come out when they're for example 5 years in and how long will you have to wait for feature updates after they've been released
I'm using both Iphone 14 pro and S22 Ultra, I think ios is more optimized than android but I always feel like I use my iphone how Apple want me to use , on the other hand I felt I own the phone when using my S22 Ultra. I don't know if this make sense ;).

People in the US really care about appearances and what car or phone they have, I do not get “the looks” in Europe as much as I get them in the US. You can get soft-bullied For not having a blue bubble, which explain the market share dominance around gen Z. It is also heavily subsidized in the US, so most of the times it’s just better to buy Apple. In Europe we do not care as much over people’s phones (but about how you dress lol), and because Apple products have a ~20% markup people simply look for better value propositions. Normal users do not care about color acuracy in their photos. They will pick which one looks better. All my iPhone user friends and family call me to take their photos on the ocassions only because my s23 ultra take good looking photos. They do not care about color acuracy. Same goes for video. Regular users doesnt care how great their video is unless he is a professional. Truth is that Apple offers very very less than what their phone hardware is capable of doing. I use both iPhone and Galaxy, where my iPhone is so boring but I never get tired of using my s23 ultra. Its just fun to use. When I am paying 1000bucks for a phone, I expect it not only be a good phone but also a fun tool.
iPhone users settle for and defend medicority in favor of essentially a fashion statement while they admit they buy phones for peer pressure. It's amazing really.
Biggest reason I run android is I don't want the same phone as everyone else. S23 ultra is a beast and and so was the note 20 ultra and note 9. I could care less about iMessage or what color my bubble is. Customization and actual file management is nice also. Reverse wireless charging, s pen, sex,USB c. Haven't had a iphone in a few years and don't miss it all. They do make some nice hardware though. I think not switching for 10k is a lil ridiculous. They are just phones at the end of the day they do the same thing. I would switch to iphone for 1k just to pay for this overpriced tech. Saying that 10k wouldn't be worth it is a little extreme. Android has came a long way and it does everything I need it to do and then some. Android or iOS it doesn't matter they are all overpriced.
@@shivangmaheshwari4994 iOS is a spatial UI, you'll hage 2 gestures to go back: if the new view slides in, you slide it back. If the new view slides up, you slide it down. It's extremely intuitive and I have never ever heard a single iOS user complaining about it.

@NoahHerman I don't get the video at all. You say every button, interface, menu etc are better without even pointing them out which ones. Is this a video that just states ios is better without proving how? Android is not just about customizability but also how much more accessible it is by older and people with disabilities.

Oh yes because 1) the pen is the only reason to get a Samsung phone 2) the S23 ultra is the only Samsung phone AND 3) Samsung is the only company using Android
So much bias in this video. Better open your mind before coming to any judgement. iOS is just getting boring at least Android is getting better. Perhaps, just Americans getting bored, more depending on what Apple tells them how to use their phone with blue bubbles.
I bought the iPhone 14 pro max upgrading from a note 20 ultra. And I'm bored of the iPhone already!! I can't do what I want with the phone. As soon as the fold 5 comes out I'm trading this in
I switched to an iPhone last year. Never have I been so miserable with any phone. It has been the most boring, bland, and pathetic user experience I've ever had. I would never go back to iOS ever again. I would say it's the iOS I hate, not the phone itself. Hardware-wise, it's peak engineering. But software-wise, I found it to be absolute garbage.
I was around for the first iPhone and went a few generations then stopped. I was frustrated with Apple's lack of thought for those with visual issues (simply stated, I have to put on glasses because the overall font was a couple of point sizes to small for me to read. Finally, went to Samsung Galaxy S+ phone line. Within 1/2 hour, the phone was "fixed" for my eyes and was great. By chance, about the time of the push of Widgets and such I decided to give a spin with iPhone again. I have an iPhone 13 pro max. Overall, I was able to get a reasonable use of the phone without resorting to putting on glasses for 'at a glance' activities. The eco system has turned out to be an excellent fit for me in its present incarnation. At this point - Some Android phones are quite excellent and work well with non-Apple quasi eco systems (think Google etc.). I'll stick for now with Apple as it meets my needs reasonably well now. Probably the worst facets of the early iPhone was internet browsing...it was not really doable unless you wanted to wait and wait for a single page to complete. For the Samsung, beyond customizing, the cameras were great and today, Samsung used exactly like the Apple will yield excellent results. Either for the average user is quite good. (I admit that the iPhone video is more to my liking.)
@Michael Manus While I'm not doubting your experience, I have to say it's quite ironic for me because for blindness (my case) or very severe visual impairments, Apple has been the way to go for a while due to the excellent native screen reader software that is VoiceOver, whereas Android's Talkback took quite some time to catch up and even today still has a bit of catching up to do, though for the most part it is mature enough. I switched to Android so that I could choose whatever phone I want much like a sighted user would, and don't necessarily plan on looking back, but I sure have been a glad iPhone user for a while, good native screen reader was a really big deal back then and I'm definitely thankful to Apple for making the industry progress in that regard.
I don't see how iOS has more thought put into it than One UI, to name one. OneUI even has more useful features than iOS. Shouldn't that fact make iOS less thought out? or is the lack of features a feature?
@@NoahHerman they are made in sweat shops in China by little kids. Only Americans go in debt to buy them. Apple is a joke. 17 years and they still don't have a dedicated back button. My Motorola Edge Plus 2023 does FAR more than any iPhone. Cameras are so much better, battery life is INSANE, and so much more. My apple days are over.
It's Coke vs Pepsi at this point, no one cares. But to say that people don't care for Android would be a lie, there are users that prefer Android at all levels of affordability. I honestly don't know that many people with 14's. 2 people I know have 14 Pro Max's and 2 others I know of have 14's.
Don't get me wrong, the 14's are good but I feel if you have any 13 model, save your money and wait for the 15 that's apparently going to have some promising upgrades.
At the end of the day, mainly in the US, the only reason why people will purchase an apple product is because it "equals wealth and higher financial status". Which in terms it honestly doesn't. But the consumers are manipulated with other things in life that equate "wealth" like clothes and cars. It's a "status symbol". The even funnier thing is most people actually use older iPhones rather than trade in and get the newer models. Which I find very interesting. But hey who am I?
I think it is also that Apple is a US company, so there is a bit of patriotism and familiarity factor. It would be the opposite in South Korea as most Koreans would use Samsung and many Asian countries would use Samsung and Asian products. I also think that phones have become sort of like cars, where just like cars, phones don't improve or change in design that much every generation anymore. Just as car manufactures doing change the design of their models to keep a cohesive brand identity (you look at a BMW and you know it is a BMW, the same way you look at an iPhone or Samsung, and you know it is that brand, because the design remains the same). And many people buy older cars or used cars, the same way now people buy older or used phones more often.
iPhones are cheaper than Samsung where I live. At least on a two year contract. And most people I know are Samsung users. They aren't tech people so they go for what's "pretty" and I guess that's Samsung in my town
Good video! I've grown to like Apple a little more but probably will never own one. Just isn't my flavor and I love the more risk taking and excitement of Android. Currently rocking the Z Fold4 and its been the best phone I've ever had.
yeah, it also hurt me too. Probably because our phones are basically one of the most personal items we own as they hold our life and act as a second brain (recording memories, communication with others, planning events, etc.) So in a way, insulting someone's phone is like insulting their life or brain.

As a user of both. Nobody makes it seamless and easy like Apple. I hate bias users on both sides. For me being non bias, Apple has the ecosystem others have, but damn it takes them way more work
My only issue with my iPhone lately is FaceTime and iMessage basically breaking my phone when I use them. iPhone 14 pro and my friends and I are busy some weeks so we meet up a lot on FaceTime and just chat shit over some drinks and video games. Unfortunately you can’t be on a FaceTime for longer than about 45 mins without the call failing and spending 2-3 minutes trying to get back onto the phone. I’ve also suffered in this regard with business calls on FaceTime and even just standard cell calls failing. Love the overall feeling of my iPhone and the convenience of those services, but as a long term iPhone user after being a dual user of both Platforms (before being with Apple since the iPhone 6S) the poor performance and stability of these services over the last 3 or so years since the pandemic has left a bad taste in my mouth. Hope they can get it together, but I’ve bought a pixel 7a as a “work phone” and probably won’t be buying another iPhone until they get these issues fixed. My 14 pro will be enough for a long while on the Apple front.
I use both the S22 Ultra and Iphone 14 pro max, both are good and your opinion specifically reflects the US market and how americans are peer pressured or given no choice of phones besides essentially samsung and apple and google whereas elsewhere in the world there are plenty more options. Also a question, since you are primarily an apple user have you used the S23 Ultra and compared it to the iphone? Maybe use both and see if you feel different. From my experience of using both phones they each have their own strengths and thats what matters, so i use the iPhone for certain things and my S22 Ultra for certain things.
for me it’s my 14 pro just feels slicker, smoother, more premium and overall easier to use since you have limitations. i would not use all the features that android is giving anyway.
in my opinion it's not worth buying a new flagship phone for most people in 2023 I personally believe it's better to buy older phones to reduce e-waste
I wish y'all RUclipsr tech isheep stop lying about the phone feeling good in the hand without a case. It's very slippery and sharp but it looks good. The iPhone 11 is the only one that feels good in the hand without a case imo.
Video should be more on why you'd pick the iphone over any android flagships. Ive been using the OnePlus 9 for a few years by this point and honestly, I'm not planning on upgrading, at least in the near future. It takes photos quite well, the SD 888 chip, while gets a bit hot, is still blistering fast, it's running the latest Android 14 and OxygenOS and the amoled display still looks gorgeous. Now does that mean the OnePlus 9 is the best phone in the world? No! It just means that OnePlus 9 is the best phone for me, MY own use case. Also you'd be surprised at how much people would choose a better SoC with faster GPU over a better camera.

Good to know Samsung finally added it though after Apple did back in 2016, I'm still not switching anytime soon because every single person in my contact list uses iMessage, also I use a lot of Mac exclusives app, it's very much a staple in my workflow now.

I've been a lifelong android user, who briefly switched to iOS with the iPhone 5 a while back. I have to say that at this point, the Apple v Android debate is stale and played out for many reasons. Mainly because a fair comparison cant be made between the 2, why? 1. Apple controls the hardware and software to a T. Hence why their devices last longer and have little to no variety and variation. They do the same across their product offerings and out of the box you get a cohesive experience that leaves little to be desired. 2. Android is an operating system licensed by Google to various OEM's that have their own vision of what they think the Android experience should be. That's why there is so much variety and you decide what flavor of android you like based on that. You can have feature packed Android from Samsung or barebones vanilla Android from Google Pixel. These 2 points (which are essentially 1 point) I just mentioned are fundamentally why it's dumb to engage in this debate and think you're being intellectually honest. Apple even though their products might cost a pretty penny, comes with everything out of the box, hence why they are suitable for the everyman who has coin to spare. Android devices are suitable for every budget and taste profile. But essentially you get a similar experience in any case. There was a time where one could say one is objectively better than the other once upon a time, but now isn't that time.
Finally someone said it. The comparison makes little sense but IF ANYTHING, Android could be said to be better because you have the option of getting whatever you want vs settling for mediocrity.
@@AkerfeldtTveitan-yi4xm That’s true but we have to also remember that android is way too varied for it to be directly compared to something like iOS. The reason I’m saying this is that you could be on a budget and buy an iPhone SE or an iPad mini and you’ll still be getting the same experience as a flagship iPhone like the 15 pro or iPad Pro. Android on the other hand if you’ve never owned a flagship from Google or Samsung or any of the top android manufacturers then you haven’t really experienced android at its best and it would be disingenuous to think that because you own a budget android you can compete with any flagship.
been a droid user , agree with your points and great inviting title to open engagement. I noticed One UI is stuck design wise and icons could be more improved widgets are getting boring too. Got a 13 mini cos of hardware design and great hand feel. one thing I noticed quickly is how optimized the battery and apps are. coming from droid env. I could see some practical functions are missing like the "Close all app" , buttons for wifi and bluetooth just disconnects and not really shut off the function. I'm more looking forward to ios' sideloading direction.
Not really hating on Android, but as an Android user, I somewhat adore iOS for it's optimization and honestly a "just works" UI and developer APIs. Though iOS do feel a bit locked down for me, and well the "expensive" price which is some of the reason why people go choose an Android instead. But for me Android feels boring now, even with manufacturer skins everything feels the same (the style of design), it's either an iOS copycat or an bubbly UI (looking at you One UI) Also i hate Android being more locked down now, which is one of the reason why I use an Android (also because of my familiarity with Android, though i have used an iPhone 4S and recently an iPhone 7 (yeah, iPhone 7)) and since iOS 17 seems to allow third party app stores according to the web, I think i will try to get both an iPhone and an Android, i just love both them, both OS. TL;DR: I like Android for it's openness and customizablity, but iOS honestly feels more usable imo, but I love both.

@@itscesarbtch3451 it depends on the manufacturer. Samsung and Google get updates for years now. Motorola or OPPO good luck getting more than one.

@@NeptuneSega no one cares about app design except developers. people buy based on peer pressure and that alone. and once they buy, they don't change as people usually cant make long time changes.
@@NeptuneSegafor Android users the ecosystem is not important, in fact, it feels like putting on a shackle

Maybe, you could find a 13 Pro. Good luck
So they claim we still have to see about that
@@elonnut Yeah that's probably the only downside since Apple has been doing it for a long time, others haven't.

Nobody really cares about it outside the US
At the end of the day, mainly in the US, the only reason why people will purchase an apple product is because it "equals wealth and higher financial status".

Nobody likes buying the same phone every year.

Aaand nobody cares that you have an iPhone. As you said, it's just your opinion, absolutely nothing more.
Not really hating on Android, but as an Android user, I somewhat adore iOS for it's optimization and honestly a "just works" UI and developer APIs. Though iOS do feel a bit locked down for me, and well the "expensive" price which is some of the reason why people go choose an Android instead. But for me Android feels boring now, even with manufacturer skins everything feels the same (the style of design), it's either an iOS copycat or an bubbly UI (looking at you One UI)
Also i hate Android being more locked down now, which is one of the reason why I use an Android (also because of my familiarity with Android, though i have used an iPhone 4S and recently an iPhone 7 (yeah, iPhone 7)) and since iOS 17 seems to allow third party app stores according to the web, I think i will try to get both an iPhone and an Android, i just love both them, both OS.
TL;DR: I like Android for it's openness and customizablity, but iOS honestly feels more usable imo, but I love both.
