Absolutely. His exclusion is a black eye on the HOF. Larry Brown, Gary Clark, Don Warren (best blocking tight end in league history hands down) and Dave Butz as well. Butz and Warren seem like outlandish choices to some and will never get even a marginal glance from that committee but they were HUGE pieces of the success those great teams enjoyed and as dominant in their own quiet way as any players of that time.

I don't think you could be much worse if you tried to. Last playoff win was 2005-2006 with Joe Gibbs back coaching when they beat Tampa Bay in a wild card game. They gave the eventual NFC Champion Seahawks a hard fight the next week but came up short. Those were the best two teams they've had since Joe Gibbs retired the first time. They made the playoffs a few other times but didn't get a win. They haven't been in back to back playoff appearances since the 1991-1992 and 1992- 1993 seasons.

The 1991 Redskins are the best football team I ever saw. They had no weaknesses and no egos. Just a perfect storm of young and old talent, harnessed by arguably the greatest coach of all time in Joe Gibbs. They could beat you any number of ways. Don’t get me wrong, the 89 Niners, 78 Steelers, 85 Bears, 73 dolphins and ‘66 Packers belong in that conversation too.
