I took my mom and my two daughters on a road trip back in April 2014, and we had the craziest encounter passing by here. The winds suddenly picked up like crazy, and we couldn't see a thing on the road. Those tumbleweeds hitting my car were no joke - they were practically pushing me off the road! The sand was so thick, it was like driving through a sandstorm. Luckily, I managed to pull off the road and ended up in the parking lot right in front of the cemetery at the front of the museum. We had to wait it out in the car until it cleared up.
But here's the kicker - when it cleared, the gentleman at the museum was so kind, he let us in to explore for free! 🙌 I was so touched by his generosity that I ended up buying a bunch of stuff from the museum shop. And just as we were about to leave, the winds picked up again out of nowhere, and it literally lifted my daughter off the ground as she was trying to get into the car! Thank goodness she had a good grip on the door handle or she literally would have flown away!
It's so surreal because I grew up hearing stories from my Czech parents about the Wild West, and over the years I've developed a love for American Western history too. It's like the spirits guided us to stop here, and it ended up being such a memorable part of our road trip. Now, my daughters have a piece of this adventure in their family history too. Keep up the great work, guys! 💖 I love the walk throughs of the different areas in Billy's history.
That's an AMAZING story. Thanks for sharing.
Great work guys. Great T shirts. I intend to travel 10,000miles from Australia to stand in Billy's footsteps one day.
Fantastic!
Thank you very much for a fantastic video. I now understand the layout of Fort Sumner and the old Post Cemetery. I learned lots of new things.
Love the tells of how it was from back in Billys day.
Alone with the 3 year old tonight, so completely missed it!
thank you so much. that was quite something. it kinda had the hairs on the back of my neck standing up at times. and from a cold and wet scotland, all that sun doesn't seem too bad. thanks again :)
I would love to know, how much of an increase in Billy tourism they have seen over the past few years. Considering the amount of coverage content providers (like u) have provided in that time.
As I’ve said many times, if NM would set up a replica of the old fort .. even a complete mock of the town! (I know I’m dreaming), they would bring in the $.
Also, Josh…the critics can pucker up… I don’t give a flip about their issues.. we appreciate the time, effort, & expense you guys put in the bring this to us!
Thank you for watching!

Outstanding show gentlemen & Lucy! 🤠🐕👏👏👏👏 👍
Many graves in New Mexico have a pile of stones, as a sign of respect and remembrance. This was initially a Jewish practice, and New Mexico has lots of Crypto Jews (who came here to flee the Spanish Inquisition back in the 15th and 16th centuries). Many practices were kept along the line and became 'local,' many of the people practicing them having forgotten the actual origin of such practice. Also, It was customary to place the stone with the left hand, the one closest to the heart... If some of you are interested in the rich Crypto Jewish past of New Mexico, a good place to start would be New Mexico's Crypto-Jews by Cary Herz. Several Crypto-Jews have recently reverted back to their Jewish creed after being Catholics for generations.
This was exceptional, I will probably never get to visit there in person so this makes me so happy to see and get a feeling of where stuff was
This was so great thanks guys. So glad to see the your interest in BTK and sounds as though even the State of New Mexico seems to be also.
Thank you guys so much for this! So proud of the work y’all put in! I’m definitely a coalition guy!
Thanks man!
I can’t believe I forgot about the live show. Well, looks like a great show.. gonna finish the rest tonight at work!
About the stones: Watch the end of "Schindler's List".
Speculaltion on the Saloon Tab: Beer was like water for people. Everyone drank it and coffee. Drinking might have been considered "whiskey".
So the Kid would have drank beer but not indulged in whiskey. Beaver may have also served food...Billy would need to eat somewhere besides Maxwells and Celsa's so maybe Beaver's from time to time.
P.S. I'm from North Dakota and hot and sweating sounds real fine to me.
Thank you for this. Just subbed.
I have often thought it would be really cool if the buildings (especially Maxwell’s house) could be re-built out of some kind of tubing so you would get the outline of where the buildings were. Would be cheap. Then rebuild, at least, Maxwell’s bedroom and kit it up w/ period correct furniture
Yes that would be very cool
I would like to even see small models of the places in the locations
Yes, Francisco Trujillo in an interview with Edith Crawford explains how he died. I speculate they put Segovia on a slow or tired horse and told him to make a run for it (knowing they would get him)...making it look like an escape. I believe there was a warrant for Segovia at the time. He had been indicted for McNabb.
Thought the burials were washed away!?! 😅😂😅
Do we know which artist was commissioned for the BTK bronze statue to be erected there?
I don’t, I’m sorry
@@joshslatten8109 No worries at all! I enjoyed the show! Love the NM contour around the plaque 🙂
