+Spacedock... How would a purely organic based technology alien race like that of the Yuuzong Vong from Star Wars, or even The Zerg from StarCraft realistically work in space? Can you do a video on that at some time, as I would really like to know. Thank, eh.
+Martin x & Space Dock... Nevertheless, both The Zerg and The Yuuzong Vong are capable of functioning in space despite having all organic based technologies rather than machine based technologies... The Zerg can travel from planet to planet across the galaxy in massive organic Overlord ships that are alive and pretty much a Zerg species all to itself, and the Yuuzong Vong have their own World Ships and other organic vessels that are also alive that can travel not only throughout the galaxy, but also between the galaxies as well, since The Yuuzong Vong are from a galaxy completely different than that of the Star Wars galaxy entirely. My question is, what would it take for organic based technology to work in space without being fried by radiation, frozen, or suffocated all to death within the vacuum of space? My only logical guess as to how organic based technology can survive in space is through the means of having it designed along the lines of Extremophile organisms like those here on Earth (ie The Water Bear and other microscopic organisms similar to it)... The Zerg race and all of it's various species you could say are all a bunch of Extremophile organisms fully capable of adapting to any environment and any species of life they come up against - including the hostile environment of space itself. The Yuuzong Vong's own organic based technology could also be Extremophile organism based in design, allowing their living world ships and other living vessels to survive and traverse through space without surcumbing to the harsh environments that they throw at them... In the Sci-Fi Horror movie, "Life", the alien organism created aboard the ISS called, "Calvin", could very well be considered a highly advanced sentient and intelliegent Extremophile organism that is fully capable of surviving in the vacuum of space as well as endure the harsh treatments dealt it's way by the crew members of the ISS trying to kill it... Even the Xenomorphs of the Alien franchise could be seen as Extremophiles maybe for their strong resilience to the environments and species they come up against... I myself am highly fascinated with organic based technologies and species within Sci-Fi lore due to the fact that they are living creatures that evolve and adapt naturally to resist, endure, and overcome the harshness of space on their own without the use or need of machine based technologies... None fulfill Jurassic Park's Ian Malcolm's famous words any better than they do in regards to adapting and evolving to the harsh environments of the universe naturally on their own without machine based technology to help them do so... "Life Finds A Way..." Which is why I personally believe Organic Based Technologies in Sci-Fi are far more superior to that of Machine Based Technologies... I want to know what Space Dock thinks and believes on this matter, and would like for him to make a video concerning this topic and discussion at hand... I like his channel and his videos, so I would like to hear what he has to say about the strategic advantages and disadvantages between using Organic Based Technologies and Machine Based Technologies when traversing space. I believe Organic Based Technology is superior in every way, but I'm sure it is certainly the harder road to take if chosen to be taken and achieved... Please do this video on this topic, Space Dock, and keep up the good work, eh. Thanks a lot. 👍😎

As much as I want to, it sadly isnt as there is nothing in the backstory to support that. Its just a coincidence caused by a quirk of the games background simulation. ^^ As for auguments, I dont think so, but Tau Ceti was one of the first colonies to declare itself independent from Earth. ^^

This thing is so quirky: I love it... first a Mormon Winnebago stolen and chucked at a magic alien rock, then a monstrous flagship, and now a field station in the middle of an extradimensional zero space in a worm hole to other habitable systems
Some of the more interesting elements of the ship's design are associated with the Mormon's original plans. They had to have their soil stowed away for their acceleration period at the start of the trip, then they'd spin up the drum once they were up to speed, then unpack their dirt and spread it out over the interior surface of the drum so they could start growing their crops. IIRC, at least some of the rooms beneath the surface of the drum were on gimbals so they could be oriented for thrust gravity during the early acceleration part of the journey (which was I think only a couple months).
Rising Horizon Gaming I'd hesitate to call it "magic". Sure, the author couldn't think of *exactly* how it works (if he could he'd be helping NASA build one, not writing stories about them), but nothing shown about them violates known physics. We don't know the mass ratios of the ship, but we do know they carry a finite amount of reaction mass, there are multiple videos were people show that the required propulsive energies and energy densities are, based on the propulsion characteristics given mostly in the short flashback about the invention of the drive, well within the theoretical maximums for nuclear power.
So I think what Milan was referring to was that accelerating for months at 1g would allow you to get to the speed of light, something clearly not happening. However, my recollection was that the Nauvoo, being orders of magnitude larger than any other ship, and built for efficiency and longevity rather than acceleration, would have been accelerating at a lower fraction of G for a longer period of time in order to get up to whatever speed they were going to use to get to Tau Ceti. So maybe not months? Maybe weeks? It's been a long time since I read the books, but I believe the plan is described at one point.
lmao. so where did you wanted to see the story to go? The protomolecule was introduces in the first episode and expanded upon more and more. It is not like it came out of nowhere. It was very well setup storywise.
The problem with the Epstein drive is that while is physically posible ..as in the end is just a utterly efficienty rocket engine.. for the efficiency levels sugested .. like being able to acelerate at 1/3 G for weeks if not more with a reaction mass fraction of the ship really small it would need to expell reaction mass as such speeds that heat and radiation would be a huge problem.. in the books actually epstein drives are treated like that.. dangerous weapons.. ships dont use it any near of a station, planet or other ship.. they "teakettle" away for a while before engaging the drive.. the Naovoo for example was towed for 8 hours before firing its engines.. and it triggered Miller's suit radiation alarms when it was 30m away from Eros. Not really mad though - it currently serves as Medina Station between other worlds; so the Mormons can move to another system as they intended, even if it’s not Tau Ceti or whatever
Adaept Zulander same thought. They never dive much into what the Mormons did after their ship was stolen... they talked about that with the Rossi during all seasons especially season 3
Is it just me, or would they be better served in having hangars/docks for torpedo destroyers instead of those launchers? basically rejig the vessel to be a commandship/carrier instead of a commandship/battleship.
The Belt wanted to set up a warship quickly. I suppose it was quicker and easier to strap lots of guns and launchers to the surface rather than start cutting up large areas of hull (to set up launch bays, airlocks and hangers) on the drum which would compromise integrity of an already fragile ship. Also i suspect Drummer/Johnson were looking ahead and wanted to eventually start building on the interior of the drum. It was originally meant to become farmland, livestock and living space, and it still could under new management. All aspects which would draw in Belters to crew the ship.
That is actually both a problem and not one for the belt. They have more ships than Mars and Earth combined. Its just they are all mining vessels, transports, rockhoppers, pirate ships, and cargo barges. Hence why they converted the Nauvoo, they needed to make a statement. A more effective method would probably to have strapped all the Behemoths weapons on a fleet of smaller ships, but that would not have had the same impact even though it resulted in a White Elephant style project.
Both Fred and Dawes said that the OPA didnt had any warship like the Rocinante.. wich was a light frigate.. so i doubt the Behemot would had any proper pocket-warship to carry arround.. at least yet..
All the OPA ships were not military vessels with double hull plating armour, anti-spalling insulation and redundant systems to absorb damage. You can't just strap a weapon system to a ship and call it combat ready.
yeah.. they can honestly say the Belt has built the biggest and with more conventional firepower dreadnought ever built by humankind so far.. of course its nearly useless as such .. but the former points stand and its a matter of getting a place between the 2 super powers
Honestly, I don’t think I could take a ship like that seriously. It’s a mobile church converted into a glass canon, reminds me of when the Quarian“upgraded” their generational ships in ME3 to fight the Geth. Not that they could do much to oppose it, but what did the Mormon say to the OPA when they found out?
Actually that mention was them suing their contractor Tycho for breach of contract. The OPA (which is trying to be a real state) would probably claim they "legitimately salvaged" the ship...like the UN says Holden "legitimately salvaged" Rocinante, but Mars disagrees.
Technically you never need actual launchers for torpedoes, other than an open hanger bay. Just push them out manually, and let them light up along side of the ship. This not only saves space, it grants “off bore” fire capability as the torpedoes don’t have to fight launcher imparted momentum for a radical change in direction.
One thing I have noticed is the lack of drone combat on the show. Arming a bunch of the tug drones with guns and torpedoes and equipping the computer systems to coordinate them in flight would seem like the best approach for combat in general, but especially for the Behemoth.
In season 2 when Fred Johnson launches the Nauvoo, he says, “you were supposed to end your life around another star”. It’s fitting as later in season 3 it gets its wish, as it becomes Medina station in the crossroads between a thousand different stars all across the galaxy.
We are running out of known ship classes.. after the Scirocco class there is only background ships.. including those seen during the battle of Ganymede and who were acompaning the Thomas Pryce into the slow zone.. there were 2 Leonidas class but also some smaller ships that might be frigates or destroyers... or even cruisers.. why not..if Mars has a patrol destroyer 30-40m long wich is esentially the lengh of a Boeing 737..
I love the Nauvoo … Everything about it is just preposterous, in every incarnation. That's just fine. "A man's reach should exceed his grasp, or what's a heaven for?"
+Dragoninthewest You're right, it does look like it stays back. Kind of weird in my opinion since it was basically a hospital ship at that point and was probably better off going back with all the injured on board. But I suppose the injured was transported back to their own ships as they were now able to produce thrust again.
This ship is one of the best examples of a Dreadnought: it looks damn intimidating, but when it actually comes to a fight, this thing breaks itself apart before the enemies can even fire a missile at it
Plus the bigger your ship is, the more damage a single Teflon coated depleted uranium core round (pdcs) will do as it goes along the vessel making little holes at each level.
The HMS dreadnaught was an extremely successful ship, it descendants, the Iowa class fast battleships, would have the longest service of a ship in the world. The Yamato is not a dreadnaught. The dreadnaughts were successful, very succesful
I'm betting later on it will serve as salvage to build more smaller ships more suitable for asymmetric warfare. Usually smaller power have to fight indirectly to avoid attrition. So speed maneuverability and stealth become greater factors. Those engines would work great in battle cruisers or stealth frigates.
But it would have taken a lot of time and money, and the OPA didn't have much of either of those. What they needed was something just scary enough to give Earth and Mars pause so they would have to take the OPA seriously.
Even though it is a largely improvised weapon, the Behemoth must be a terrifying opponent. It is extremely heavily armed, and its sheer size might be enough to give some enemies pause. It could be useful as a sort of aircraft carrier in space, or long distance fire support. If used like that its vulnerability might be less of an issue.
Until you consider the fact that the simple act of firing the torpedoes caused power failures across the whole ship, and firing on of the rail-guns would have caused severe structural damage. In both the books and TV series it's stated that it's really just for show.
Rising Horizon Gaming Nobody said anything about it being the dominant religion. That is just wrong. It fits the Mormons to build such a thing, both financially and for their history...
I have honestly debated posting this on the Generation ship video, because I don't want to come off as preachy or spark a religious debate. If such happens I do ask that you guys delete this post. As a Mormon, I really hate the fact that it was named the Nauvoo. Naming it after the city where the founder was martyred leading to another exodus, this time to Utah, doesn't seem like the best idea. There are other names that I think would have been much better, such as the Liahona, the Lehi or the Ensign. But, the ship is still pretty cool.
I just imagine that thing getting commandeered by Mars and then just later it’s flying around gets attacked and all of a sudden the drum opens in four Donnager class battleships and the ships in their hanger just all pop out
Disclaimer: not very far into the show. Honestly, I feel the ship would have been better utilized as a supercarrier. That centrifuge drum could have been converted into a massive hangar to house a fleet of improvised escorts. She could have been used as a mobile repair and resupply base holding massive amounts of ammunition, parts and fuel for her attendant fleet. In the role of both carrier and mobile repair dock, that size becomes an asset allowing for massive numbers of point defense guns to be mounted, supplies to be carried, and even use as a mobile drydock. Kinda like the UNSC Cradle.
You could fit hundreds of Rocinantes in there. It would be terrifying. But the OPA doesn't have those ships. It's a jury-rigged piece of crap. But it looks intimidating. That's currently the best the belt can do.
Probably not possible since the OPA has no standards or regulations for its small craft and they're all customized in some way. Docking them would be a nightmare.
Yeah. The OPA is more like an independence movement than a state. A mixture between crime syndicate, official government and mass movement. But suddenly they are independent. They managed to throw off the yoke of foreign invaders, but independence does not mean that they are equal to everyone else. Imagine India in 1947. The continuation of British rule was incomprehensible, but the British Empire still had the 2nd largest fleet on Earth. India couldn't be subjugated any more, but it was far from an international superpower. The Belt is in a comparable position. The Belt has hundreds of ships, but not a single one is a dedicated warship. Most of these ships are as usefull to a fight as a modern day freighter would be in a modern war. The UN and Mars had an independent fleet for centuries now. Dedicated shipyards, research companies, etc. If the Belt wanted to meet the Inners on an even battlefield, it would need decades of dedicated R&D. But strapping every available gun on the biggest available ship? That can be done in weeks. And while it isn't terribly effective, at least it looks dangerous. In the end, the Belt doesn't need a fleet (or ship) powerfull enough to defeat Earth or Mars. It needs a fleet that looks like it could pose at least just a small obstacle. The stalemate between Earth and Mars does the rest. And that is the role that the Nauvoo/Behemoth fills...
01:19 You show stats for the Behemoth which appears as a cylinder in the show. Cylinders only have two dimensions listed, diameter and length. You have three dimensions listed.
Only the main hull is radially symmetric, there are protrusions (most notably the external elevators) that make the total radius larger in one dimension than the other.
At first, i thought the entire ship was a solid piece that rotated, but it turns out there’s a separate drum. No wonder it leaked too much air for a hundred year long journey
This always bugged me. Fred Johnson steals the ship to destroy Eros. I understood that. But when it misses, he just leaves it. When he finally gets around to recovering it, he doesn't return it to the mormons, he takes it for himself. Really offends my sense of justice. But beyond that, the OPA is running around with their flag ship literally stolen from a peaceful religious sect. I don't trust people who are proud thieves...
I hope there's a legit platform out there where I can rewatch the whole series! Or if not hopefully all seasons are available with a total under 200$ or my budget for school field trips is scratched
Yeah amazon prime has seasons 1 and 2. There is a delay between the last aired episode for the season and when amazon makes the season available on prime. Amazon has a student discount for prime so you should look into that. All the features of amazon prime for half the normal cost.
can't use the spin gravity when the engines are in use so pretty impracticable for interstellar flights unless you plan to turn the engines off for a section in the middle.
Oh it's a complete paper tiger, firing the torpedoes causes power failures, if it tried to use the railguns it would risk ripping itself apart, its maneuvering capacity is highly limited, it's not really armoured at all and it's absolutely gigantic. The Behemoth is a terrible warship, but the Belt had nothing better to work with and in that context it makes sense. The Behemoth is a symbol of Belter cooperation, taking bits and pieces from countless items of salvage and using them to build something, that while a very bad warship, can still call itself one. The first ever warship of the Belt, a statement of intent; that they are no longer mere pawns in the game of power, whether the Inners like it or not, the Belters are players now.
Klaes Ashford put it best, speaking about the OPA taking ownership of the Nauvoo from the Mormons: "we put it to use better than they ever would" little did he know how prophetic his words would be
One of the few rotating drum gravity systems in televised sci-fi, still just 1/4 of the length of Babylon 5. To be fair though, B5 was an immobile station.
Thanks for sharing that with us. I found it to be very informative. I really the show and want to learn more about it, but I'm somewhat limited on being able to watch it. Also I am very excited for The Sojourn. In one of your live streams you mentioned a kick starter for fund raising. Any idea when that will happen? I would like to contribute.
For me personally, despite the fact that out of all the major ships in the Expanse, it is clearly the worst at most of the important things (combat, manueverability etc). It is, by far, the most interesting ship in the Expanse universe
In the books it was even worse and borderline comical, after the Behemoth fired it's torpedo, the torpedo lost tracking feedback because the ship's laser went offline because of the power surge, the mcrn ships had to fucking point their targeting lasers at it to direct the damn OPA torpedo to the Rocinante.

yeah.. they can honestly say the Belt has built the biggest and with more conventional firepower dreadnought ever built by humankind so far.. of course its nearly useless as such .. but the former points stand and its a matter of getting a place between the 2 super powers
Lord, smite these faithless salvagers. At the end of our hard-fought battles, paradise awaits, and one day we will reach the promised land.
The mention legal action by the mormons.
But the OPA isn't a real state, so the just don't care...
Actually that mention was them suing their contractor Tycho for breach of contract. The OPA (which is trying to be a real state) would probably claim they "legitimately salvaged" the ship...like the UN says Holden "legitimately salvaged" Rocinante, but Mars disagrees.
Broken Eyes Turns out strapping rail guns and torpedos tubes to a church doesn't magical turn it into a dreadnaught. Who know?
They tried to sue the OPA, but Johnson was just like "legitimate salvage lol"
I see a Spacedock episode, I click
I'm a German and i read the title as: "The Expanse: GRANDPA'S Behemoth."
If you were dutch it would be Grandma’s 😉
Was, hat dein Opa kein überdimensioniertes, improvisiertes Schlachtschiff?
Wouldn't that be spelled "oupa".
Or Koreans would see it as OPPA GANGNAM BEHEMOTH STYLE!
Ich musste das auch erstmal zweimal lesen bevor ich kapiert hab das dies nicht Opa heißen sol^^.
Technically you never need actual launchers for torpedoes, other than an open hanger bay. Just push them out manually, and let them light up along side of the ship. This not only saves space, it grants “off bore” fire capability as the torpedoes don’t have to fight launcher imparted momentum for a radical change in direction.
True mate!
Stealthships next, please!
Yes.
*Angry Mormon Screeching*
It should be Mor(m)ons.
IT'SCALLEDTHE NAUVOO
You can always present charges in the OPA legal system
*Laughs in Belter*
Dude, Mormon expanse fan-boy checking in. Not offended.
>claims to be a legitimate government
>steals ships
>doesn't have courts
This is why we Inners laugh at you ;)
The Behemoth can do its own drum roll
Beltalowda
One thing I have noticed is the lack of drone combat on the show. Arming a bunch of the tug drones with guns and torpedoes and equipping the computer systems to coordinate them in flight would seem like the best approach for combat in general, but especially for the Behemoth.
Not fast or durable enough, gun turrets would wipe them out in 0 time
In season 2 when Fred Johnson launches the Nauvoo, he says, “you were supposed to end your life around another star”. It’s fitting as later in season 3 it gets its wish, as it becomes Medina station in the crossroads between a thousand different stars all across the galaxy.
Definitely looking forward to watching The Expanse Season Four and excellent episode as always SpaceDock !
Can’t wait for season 4! Rewatching season 3 only a week after finishing it. By far one of the greatest shows ever.
This series is brilliant thanks for your time and efforts the quality of production is par excellence.
I really tought the video would begin with the quote: "One hell of a warship"
sparrowJLT hell, literally.
Warship, not so much.
MCRN Scirocco Class cruiser next, please.
Is that the UNN ship that tried to take out the Draper and Avasarala on Razorback before being rescued by the Roci?
We are running out of known ship classes.. after the Scirocco class there is only background ships.. including those seen during the battle of Ganymede and who were acompaning the Thomas Pryce into the slow zone.. there were 2 Leonidas class but also some smaller ships that might be frigates or destroyers... or even cruisers.. why not..if Mars has a patrol destroyer 30-40m long wich is esentially the lengh of a Boeing 737..
I want to know about the UNN version of the Roci. Think in stereotypes and you will have a good idea of how booth ships compare.
FOR THE WIN

I love these Expanse videos you have produced! Well done!
I imagine this is the closest humans are going to get to Ork technology.
Your channel is so addictive.
Wait, a ship going to the Tau Ceti system...What was the ship's name, the Botany Bay?
You think this is Ceti Alpha 5...
I thought it was the Von Braun, along with its piggybacking partner the UNN Rickenbacker.
GmodPlusWoW
Ah, I see you're man of culture as well.
I do love some good "immersive sim". Deus Ex and System Shock are indeed some of my favourites.
UESC Marathon :P
i love the Behemoth because it can provide its own gravity by spinning the drum section without having to constantly use fuel for forward thrust.
Spin the Drum.
"Ill try spinning.. thats a good trick"
Bring on more. More more more. Love expanse and spacedock.
Good luck beltalowda!
Man i love these videos but they should be longer, i could watch for hours!
When are you gonna upload more Sojourn content. I’m so goddamn excited for it 😆😆😆😆
New Avalon Archives coming on Thursday!
Spacedock sweeeet
Only now that I noticed that Ashford was sitting on a bar when Drummer ordered fire (2:43)
Please do the Anubis next !
thank you for finally making this video
I love the Nauvoo … Everything about it is just preposterous, in every incarnation. That's just fine.
"A man's reach should exceed his grasp, or what's a heaven for?"
Wow, we're canon now bois.
Medina station next ;) ;)
Hence the winks he also did the nauvoo and there the same shit why not
Repta530 I am pretty sure at the end of season 3, they showed every ship except the Behemoth leaving The Hub.
+Dragoninthewest You're right, it does look like it stays back. Kind of weird in my opinion since it was basically a hospital ship at that point and was probably better off going back with all the injured on board. But I suppose the injured was transported back to their own ships as they were now able to produce thrust again.
Greedo shot first
@NYG123 Behemoth is Medina station in the same way Eros is the Ring.
Changed configuration, changed function, new ship.
reimender: The Behemoth only fiert 1 missle ever and it caused a power outage
And miss.
Nice!!! I'm loving this Expanse series.
That orange ship around 3:40 reminds me of Ceres from Objects in Space
Say whatever about the Behemoth, at least it makes a good hospital
actually , i think the power of the ship is as a Carrier for Smaller Combat Vessels , its a great Mobile Base of Operations
Star Trek beyond swarm ships vs the borg or anything from Star Wars. would you guys consider that match up?
Reminds me of Escape Velocity: Nova's Manticore... which in itself is a heavily modified Leviathan cargo hauler.
Belter ingenuity at it's finest!!! XD
Are we ever going to see a video on Pallas or Calypso?
Forgot to mentioned the comm laser which can be refitted as one of the solar systems only energy based starship weapons.
My wish come true!!!Medina Station after season four!!!!
If they'd cut up the Nauvoo for parts and materials, they could've gotten two or three really nice heavy cruisers instead of whatever that thing is.
But it would have taken a lot of time and money, and the OPA didn't have much of either of those. What they needed was something just scary enough to give Earth and Mars pause so they would have to take the OPA seriously.
Can't wait for season 4 to come to Amazon and see what role this Ship plays next
Great stuff as always. Thank you!
im not gonna lie as a mormon i really like the idea of this beast of a ship!
yeah i agree

Rising Horizon Gaming
Nobody said anything about it being the dominant religion. That is just wrong.
It fits the Mormons to build such a thing, both financially and for their history...
@@hyperionic1044 What in the hell does that video have to do with this one? Science fiction?
Not to mention its communications laser can be converted into a directed energy weapon.
Awesome, I love the show and love the content you make
I have honestly debated posting this on the Generation ship video, because I don't want to come off as preachy or spark a religious debate. But, the ship is still pretty cool.
i see what you are saying but on the other hand the mormons were going into another exile so it kind of fits
I prefer the name Astroni Moroni.
The Behemoth is an awesome spaceship !
that thing is a magnet for railgun fire
I haven't seen season three since it isn't on Amazon prime yet. I new I shouldn't watch this, but i did, and now i regret it.
I just imagine that thing getting commandeered by Mars and then just later it’s flying around gets attacked and all of a sudden the drum opens in four Donnager class battleships and the ships in their hanger just all pop out
'Only a tactical genius could... CREEEEEEEEEED!'
It should all be on amazon prime, and all new seasons will be on amazon prime
Yeah amazon prime has seasons 1 and 2. There is a delay between the last aired episode for the season and when amazon makes the season available on prime.
Amazon has a student discount for prime so you should look into that. All the features of amazon prime for half the normal cost.
can't use the spin gravity when the engines are in use so pretty impracticable for interstellar flights unless you plan to turn the engines off for a section in the middle.
When you think of it, the Behemoth really is a paper tiger. This is why you don't turn a beer keg into a warship.
I can't wait for its remodeling during the Transport union in season 4
Will watch later but came over to hit the like button and comment.
What did the Belters do with the golden statue ?
Melt it down ?
It vanished later on
stardude2006 I think it snapped off when they were salvaging it in. The episode
Nova Prime Awww
Now it's orbiting somewhere near Ganymede ???
stardude2006 no it orbiting in the area where Eros was
i think the nauvoo was on an escape trajectory when they salvaged it so the statue's probably headed out to the stars
Monckat Yes I just watched the episode they snapped it off
Klaes Ashford put it best, speaking about the OPA taking ownership of the Nauvoo from the Mormons:
"we put it to use better than they ever would"
little did he know how prophetic his words would be
Never before the lives of so many would be marked by a barrel so large.
The outro music sounds very Freespace-like
I was gonna cry about the Scirocco again but...what about the UNN ships wich engage it with PDCs over Ganymede?
What it became after the ring network opened was probably the best thing that could have happened to it.
Roses are red violets are blue
Spacedock ur awesome the expanse is too
One of the few rotating drum gravity systems in televised sci-fi, still just 1/4 of the length of Babylon 5. To be fair though, B5 was an immobile station.
Unlike the quite a bit larger Babylon 4, which was a *mobile* station. :)
O M G You forgot that it SPINS!! :P
also the behemoth is nice as a hospital-ship if you for some reason can not generate accelerational-gravity. ;)
Beltalowda!
Can you touch on the acceleration of gravity and rotational gravity that the ship has.
This got me thinking about some similar craft in anime. Daniel, you should do an episode on the space colonies from the Mobile Suit Gundam series.
For me personally, despite the fact that out of all the major ships in the Expanse, it is clearly the worst at most of the important things (combat, manueverability etc). It is, by far, the most interesting ship in the Expanse universe
Not "now-voo". Try "naw-voo". Its a town in Illinois that was once home to the mormons.
One thing comes to mind when looking at this thing: Why didn't they turn it into a carrier?
Yo it's the Mormon death pillar of doom my friends keep talking about
Always thought this was kind of survivable because it’s huge size could absorb railguns and torpedos
+Spacedock...
How would a purely organic based technology alien race like that of the Yuuzong Vong from Star Wars, or even The Zerg from StarCraft realistically work in space?
Can you do a video on that at some time, as I would really like to know.
Thank, eh.
