Great video. I'm doing mine now. Can't figure out how to disconnect the post cat o2 sensors and did you leave the bracket that is connected to the bell housing on or did you remove it? My DP's don't have bracket to connect it too.

Hey guys, if all 4 O2 sensors were reconnected to prevent codes and only the REAR ones reinstalled, what did you do with the front (pre) sensors if they were not reinstalled. Appreciate the advice! Keep up the good work!!
Just wonder, the sound with catless si very loud compared with the factory downpipes? Cause I'm not sure if I want to do that upgrade cause of the sound if is too loud. Can you let me know. Thanks
Nice video! I've got a RHD 335i and have the steering column in the way. When I moved the steering rack forward I didn't have any room to get my hands under the car to even access the DP's at turbo side. I noticed you guys took off a heatshield for better access... Do you have any pictures of the heatshield you took off? I'm wondering if RHD is harder to do considering the steering column and I don't recall any bolts to take a heat shield off as in your case.

Awesome video..just ordered my jb4 and will do the downpipe eventually but i have a question..how do the pre and post cat oxygen sensors not throw a too rich code without having the cats? I’ve straight piped cars before and had issues with them running like shit because the computer tries to lean it out due to being “too rich”

On cold start ups I get that rattle sound and was told it’s the “turbo”. Im guessing it’s the heat shields as you stated would happen if not spaced out correctly?

& by the way, its not this easy on RHD cars, steering rack is a bit different!
!!!! Ladies with RHD, don't try this at home, you will have to take the sub-frame off in rhd cars.

I just did this exact same thing, identical to your install.. I installed brand new VRSF Catless downpipes. After buttoning everything back up I started it up and after it warmed up it through a misfire code cylinder 1. I went back and unbuttoned everything (lesson learned there) and checked O2's to see if I reversed them. They were installed correctly. My car has a JB4 time I use map 5, VRSF 5" Stepped intercooler, BMS chargepipe. I pulled the plug and it looked good. Im running Boshe OEM plugs. I watched your install and you just installed them and everything was good. What do you suggest is going on?

Word of warning: This isn't easy on Right Hand Drive (RHD) cars. You have a steering column in the way which requires dropping of the subframe.

Hello guys, how do you get around the Check Engine Light ? do you use a spacer, a minicat or the resistor and capacitor trick?
If you have a jb4 and straight pipes will you be getting check engine soon every now and then. It shows as the map sensor but the it goes off. Thank
Did you have alot Smell after downpipes were installed? And if you did when does it smell? Smell meaning unburnt fuel or emissions smell?
is this an xi or regular I model? I cant find a DIY guide for XI models, although i assume they are most similar..i just want to see it to believe it type of deal
i have my cattless downpipes in but they are an inch away from the catback exhaust is it normal to have to pull the exhaust forward to the the rear end of the downpipes
Did the downpipes foul out the O2's? I'm getting these codes 2A2B and 29E0 after installing DPs

How does your e90 backfire like that? The burrble I set to max. When I rev like your video it doesn't sound like that unless I'm driving and downshift
I bought used downpipes for 100 vrsf I ordered the gaskets and bolts and I’ll be installing it this weekend
i just watch your video look easy but im over here in Australia damm steering rack is in the way what a job 2 hours later just got the pipes off now install good time cheers for the video..

@ 12:23 when your talking about the nut and magnet trick. It looks like your using standard nut & bolt hardware to hold your exhaust together. I think you may regret that???

you have to drop the subframe or something, I just know its a lot more difficult

Quick question do you have any tips or tricks you guys can give me I’m trying to put the front downpipe in and it doesn’t seem to line up that well with the exhaust pipes I’ve been going at it for a while now and I’m at a dead stop any advice would be appreciated thanks in advance!!
Oseas Alvarez what brand are the downpipes? It’s possible there is a manufacturing defect causing them to not line up

What exhaust set up did you have at this time
Great video guys, it's nice to see that you guys at least take the time to do it right and still make it hilarious! I am actually just looking to do catless DP/exhaust. Digging those exhaust cut outs too. Debating on it I want the cutouts or a just get a new cat back exhaust system as well as Cobb vs JB4. Any suggestions/pros or cons you could give would be appreciated. Have you guys walnut blasted any of your cars? I have 77K on my 08 335Xi I just picked up and have read a lot about how much that can help before mods? Would be cool to see a video on that process and feedback on results.

Budget Bimmers THANK YOU SO much for the feedback! I love the channel keep up the good work. I am trying to build an 335Xi because I live in WI and I want to be able to enjoy it 12 months of the year. I got a little wastegate rattle. Other than that engine is good did plugs and coil packs already car still has intermittent misfires which come and go and are super annoying. Don't know if it is because I missing the gasket from downpipe to midpipes/cats. Assuming that may be the cause of my misfire? I am new to Bimmers and I thinking cheap catless exhaust(PE perhaps hmmmmmm) accessport, then need to either rebuild turbos or upgrade???? What is your suspension setup? Wow I need to STFU this is way to long later
Budget Bimmers I am going to walnut blast next then work on exhaust & wastegate rattle situation? What are my options? the noise just sucks!
if you got wastegate rattle and are at 77k miles I'd take it to BMW they are covered upto either 80k or 110k I can't remember
Jeff E I think it is $80K, but I had heard that had a date expiration and if I remember correctly I think the expiration was the end of the year.

Hey have you had any problems with bad smells in your cabin? I'm wanting to install my catless dps but I have kids and I don't want the exhaust fumes entering the cabin. I'm debating whether or not to install them or ship them back and get catted?? all help is greatly appreciated! love your channel by the way great job guys keep them coming!
Victor Jones I have not had any problems with that, only till recently when I put on cowl filters. I also still had the secondary cats so my exhaust never really smelled bad
The catless downpipes are in place to FACILITATE exiting exhaust gas flow from the turbos... which markedly increases the little pumps' efficiency and decreases the potential heat build-up within them. Additionally, they are a larger I.D., and tapered back down to stock at the tail pipe. Since the coupling is BETWEEN the turbo output and the existing (stock) tailpipe Assy, there should be NO leaksl and no impact on 'smell' at the exhaust exit at the rear of the car.The procedure is NOT as easy as portrayed here, and if you are in a State conducting smog checks, then you'll need re-install your stock pipes before the check. Bad smells would be from Taco Bell IMHO, or from the kids.

I need some help ive been trying to fo this on my xdrive 335i and theres a black bar that is keeping me from removing the pipe i got one off by cutting it in half... i just dont what to do any help woulf br great
Danny Bowen yeah i figured that part out fun fact ypu can get 1 of thr pipes in without dropping it but the other there is no way without dropping. But i eventually got it only took me 3 days ugh
So the rear pipe for me keeps going in the middle of the tailpipe so should i reposition it or no?

So do you use the old o2 sensors or install some new ones im looking into putting some on mine and looking at prices found some cats for 360 and says add o2 sensors for 60 dollor should i get those or use the old ones my 355i is at 95k so i wouldve figured to get the new ones but i want your opinion?
