Today is a day I have been waiting for! I finally installed a VRFS catless race downpipe in the BMW 335i. This was not the easiest job I have ever done, but it probably wasn't the hardest. Watch the video to hear the before and after sounds of the 335i. It sounds wayyy better with the VRSF downpipe.

Hey man I was lookin to put the same down pipe on my e90 n55 along with mhd, but was curious if I don’t have a tune when I do the downpipe will that screw with anything by chance? Or should I get the tune and the pipe at the same time, thanks brother!
I have been working on my exhaust lately and was told that I can empty my stock catalytic converter and will serve the same purpose as a downpipe.. It really didnt make any sense at first but then dug more into it and it seems pretty legit.. What differentiates a 500$ ER downpipe from an emptied Catalytic Converter? i just buy a 150 us cheap cat on ebay
When you did this, did your car ever produce a white/gray-ish smoke when coming to a stop or at all?
Do we not need to change the two second catalysts of the N55 engine? I worked on the Mhd bubble flasher, but only the first catalyst sale from aftermarket, so I’m worried about the operation of the second catalyst.

Great video! Is this literally just a MHD flash and downpipe? Everything else entirely stock? The sound is sick!!! Any trouble or complications since the flash? I’m thinking of doing it as well but have heard mixed opinions on the burbles effecting the turbo overtime.
Just the DP and tune. And no issues so far!

Did you get a CEL when you turned the car on? I just got the same one for my car but I haven’t put it in yet.
No CEL because the car is already tuned on mhd stage 1. Refer to my mhd tuning video for an explanation.

Looks like a pain in the ass. Getting mine installed at a garage next week. Just installed the VRSF charge pipe and intercooler myself and I think I'm done working on my car for the rest of my life..
Lol. The charge pipe doesn’t seem too bad. Was the intercooler difficult?
This is the first time I've ever worked on a car, so take my complaining with a grain of salt.. The front bumper was harder to remove than I thought it would be. Charge pipe was easy. The lower charge pipe was tough to get in the right spot. For the intercooler, It's much easier to use a little hacksaw to cut the plastic shroud (I was originally using a dremel..). You will need to use a dremel to remove the metal ring from the coupler that connects to the turbo side of the intercooler.
I'm sure you'll find it a lot easier than I did..

Do you need to remove the stock down pipe if adding vrsf race exhaust ? I got bmw e92 335i n55 and I wanna put the race exhaust but idk if I should keep the stock down pipe or vrsf downpipe ?
You can keep stock DP if you want to.
If you hurry, there's a 2011 BMW 335i on copart with a pure stage 2 turbo and port injection. Made 450hp before the wreck. Goes to auction at 12 today. Gotta have a dealers license and it's in bham AL. I can't bid because im currently out of cash and no license.

There was a BMS intake, and a cowl delete. Then I did the down pipe.
When you flashed with MHD did you have to unlock the dme with a bench flash? And also with the Down pipe...any codes with out a cat?
Not sure if I want Catless or high flow. Don’t really want the smell nor the volume, just hp.
MHD did all of that on its own and it clears the code for no cat!

If I remember correctly, it was just down pipe with stock sport exhaust.
Do you have any vibration in the cabin when first accelerating?
I did notice a tiny bit of vibration. It only lasts about 1-2 seconds.

Ceramic exhaust parts tend to crack with the heat after some time. What’s the quality of this product and warranty if any??
Quality seemed pretty decent and I’m not 100% sure about a warranty.

I mean, all I care about is cracks. Like I said, ceramic headers are not recommended because of it. They tend to crack over time. It will sucks if within a year or two, that downpipe has to be replaced. Hopefully not!! And just asked cause I’ve been thinking about replace mine on my N55 135i.
JMC Cars N More i haven’t heard any horror stories of them cracking. But if mine ever does, I’ll forsure make a video on it.

I got 2012 bmw e92 335i n55 and I’m getting vrsf race exhaust and the race downpipe will I need to tune it? They told me I would need to tune cause of the race downpipe.
Yeah you should tune it using Mhd. Get the aluminum charge pipe too and get the stage 2 tune.

Now you need to do the PE Mod! Also is your car RWD or xDrive?

@@boosted_john You cut open the mufflers and weld in straight pipes in place of the perforated pipe and muffler. It mimics BMW's performance exhaust.

bro, when you placed the oxygen sensors, did they burn out because it was too close to the stream of exhaust.. so did they melt? should i get an extension for the oxygen sensors? will it throw a code running too rich? if yes, did you tune it out with MHD? im looking to do the same and tripping lol
Havnt had a problem with it yet.
What are all the mods you have on the car?
BMS intake, VRSF down pipe, MHD stage 1 tune. That was it. I don't own the car anymore, but shortly after this video was released, I also added an aluminum charge pipe from ebay.

I have a n55 with catless downpipe and resonator delete with a stock muffler and its perfectly loud enough. If you got a muffler delete too then yes it will be way too loud(in my opinion)

Why do americas have a enviromental norms and cars with cats if you can remove them without any fine or trouble?
In Germany you will get a massiv fine for that and you are not allowed to drive your car a singl foot further. you have to park it on spot and get a truck to tow it to the garage
Also, if the caught you ding that again, you can loose your license for a few months and worst case forever with out chance to get it back. So you will never ever alowed to drive a car in germany

JOHN coming from Audi to bmw I will say... Audi has a better interior if your looking for updated look. If I wasn’t so biased about Audi because of the awd and swearing by their performance I would have learned a lot sooner BMW is the shit.. I love my 335i M Sport, even though I couldn’t get it in a manual. Wish I looked into bmw 15 years ago... by the way BMW interior is elegant and mature... BMW TILL I LEARN BETTER!!
