I own (and love) a 2011 39mm HC. It´s a remarkable watch. For 5% of the cost* of the equivalent Submariner you get a wonderful Swiss dive watch, with a highly-accurate Swiss movement, from a historic manufacturer. It´s sitting at +0.5secs/day. Bear in mind they wear big; I´m a fairly big guy, and wouldn´t want to go bigger in the HydroConquest. *second-hand, box and papers, €505 vs. approx €10k for the Sub.
I had the 41mm version and sold it 4-5 years ago. But I miss it. I miss it more than other much more expensive watches and so I decided to buy it again, this time the 39mm. It's just so well made, great brand, looks good, very robust and precise, everything I want from a diver. I don't care about the old clasp and the aluminium bezel insert, It's still a great watch!
MattZ a great watch incredible value for a Swiss time piece I have the blue one I’m about to get a black one they look great in sports wear or dressed in a suit
This is a really great watch. Recommend it to everyone who is looking for a great diver. Regarding old vs new: as far as I can see the new version has no 39mm option. So your decision to go for the older version was right. The new version comes with 41 mm or 43 mm. The older models have 4 different sizes from 39 - 44mm. I would recommend to go for the 39/41 models as aesthetically the larger models are kind of strange to me. The compact design is very unique.
@@arkadipta6667 haha yes, i bought from Swatch, it does not have a booklet. just a piece of paper, but one thing i love about swatch watch is u can replace battery unlimited time until the watch is broken. So i love Swatch brand too.. From Swatch Group, like Tissot, Omega and Longines, they offer wonderful packaging and i love them...
Hi, could you tell me what the width of the bracelet is on the 39mm model? It is pretty hard to find online and I didn’t hear you mention it (I could be wrong 🤭) thank you very much!
You can buy it from Jomashop.com make sure to register on their website for emails and you'll get an additional $20 off coupon which will make your price $826. Keep in mind however you will not get the Longines Warranty since this isn't an authorized dealer but you'll get a brand new authentic watch with all the original box and papers.
Thanks for your details ... but actually I move to live in France. Last week I came for shopping..Here the retail price is 1070€ .. now they have 20% off for 1 week 🤓
You can check their official website, grey market sellers usually dont resize bracelets but some do I think. They have 39, 41 and 44mm case diameters to choose from.
@@theopulentlife889 thank you. I might go check benbridge or Macy’s if they’re carrying this to try it on. Might get this on my Birthday. Do you think this watch is a good everyday watch?
@@theopulentlife889 I don’t know man. I went to the boutique and I couldn’t tell the difference from the aluminum one. Also the price difference is a bit big which makes me kinda don’t want to get the ceramic one. Surprisingly though I kinda like the green one than the black and blue.
How do you tell between the old and new models? I'm interested in the 39mm Blue HC (Quartz) and since it's on the Longines website, I thought it was the most recent one...
The easiest way to tell is by the bezel and the dial, the new ones features a ceramic bezel and the dial layout is much cleaner and less busy. The one in this video is from the pre ceramic era. On their website you'll see mostly the new version in ceramic for the automatics. For the Quartz version you'll get the pre-ceramic which is still available on their website and that looks exactly like the one in this video. So in the summary the quartz looks like the older version and the new ones are ceramic in automatic
Depends on your personal preference and also your wrist size...I have a 6.5inch wrist so 39mm is ideal but I can pull off the 41mm too I suppose, if your wrist is larger than 6.5inch the 41mm would be nice. They have a 44mm as well for very large wrists. It all really boils down to what you like.
Not this one only comes in a bracelet from the brand...the new version has a nylon strap option...but there are aftermarket rubber and leather strap options out there as well. In general dive watches don't usually come with leather strap options..
@@theopulentlife889 thank you kindly for your reply... In a brown aviator leather strap I think it would look stunning.... I'm hoping to buy one just after Christmas.... Will hopefully get a good deal.... I want the 39mm automatic with blue dial.... I also wish they did it with a all red.. Second hand....
I love it when everything is balanced.

You are correct I have a friend with a no date sub and when he handled my HC 39mm auto he was very impressed and surprised with the price.

@@theopulentlife889 Nice review. Do you think a 21 mm aftermarket oyster bracelet will fit this?
Same thinking as yours!
Thanks for reviewing, I've now ordered the 39mm model. 😀👍
Hope you enjoy it :)

I have the 39mm quartz blue. Great deal new for $700 and it is 2mm thinner than the auto.
the Swatch group instruction booklet is always huge but it's reallly a beautiful watch. I would really think to get one.. thanks for sharing
Okay but my swatch doesn’t even have a booklet lmao or is it so small I can’t see it ... lol ik you’re taking about other brands in swatch XD

Can you please tell me what the lug to lug measurement is and how big are your wrists in inches?
Awesome man! What's the lug to lug measurement? Cheers!
39mm will be a classic. Nice watch.
Thanks 😊

The width of the bracelet 18.7mm and the width between the two adjacent lugs is 26mm (not bottom and top lug to lug)
19mm
Could you please tell me which version of this watch that will go with ceramic bezel ? Thanks.
The newest version has the ceramic bezel
Diver extensions aren’t for swollen hands or wrists... they were made to accommodate wet suits. 😉

I’m hesitating between black and blue 🤣 both are nice ... outside the blue was stunning et attractive but for the longevity maybe the black as u
Close your eyes and whichever one you visualize first....go for it 👍🏽
The Opulent Life haha 😂
Do they do resizing? I’m thinking on getting one of this but not sure which size I should get. Anyways, cool watch
