The video can solve dishwasher problems caused by no air gap or a flexible tube going from the air gap to the disposal which sag. Both of these situations can cause dishwasher problems.

This was precisely what was wrong with our machine! There was a small dribble of a leak at the bottom of the inlet valve. Getting the hose off was the most challenging part, I had to use a screwdriver to start it, and then it came off easily. It went on very easily. Another tip is to use some pump pliers to take off the clamp, as those have ridges closer to the tip and are easier to grab and maneuver. Thanks for posting - it was relatively easy to do!

I fixed it without any trouble at all! I didn't need to unhook the hose, and to save a step I went through the side and only unhooked the tubing from the valve itself. SUPER EASY! Instead of spending $400 on repairs I spent $20 and an hour of my time....and some of the money I saved in repairs I bought a little present for myself instead. #newshoes :) THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEO!! @Channel

This is a great, straight forward, and easy to follow video! Thanks for it. Question though:
With the dishwasher off, water seems to flow into the dishwasher only from the side of the sink that the garbage disposal is attached to-to add to that, the garbage disposal no longer works either and has a tendency to fill up the sink with water when water is on too long on that side.
When we use the dishwasher, it seems to drain as its supposed to. When we open the door to unload the dishes there is no standing water. However, I've noticed that water will slowly drain into the dishwasher if, again, water is running into the side of the sink that has the disposal. This is what I believe is causing the standing water.
With all that being said, since the dishwasher is draining the water like its supposed to after a load is done, could the cause of the standing water be due to the un-working garbage disposal?
Thanks in advance for yours or anyone else's help

I'm having the same issue with my Kenmore. I check for clogs etc. Did a high loop too. Dishwasher runs normal and empties. I thought it was back flow from the bottom...its not. I cleaned all the filters and no debris. Cleaned the check valve which prevents backflow. When the water is on..i noticed flow from the water port. I think the water inlet valve is failing and the internal water pressure is opening.

In this scenario, program finishes normally, no water at the end of program cycle. You can see water after a while and it will be clean water. So yes, inlet valve leaks some water into the machine. If your program doesn't finish, standing 0:01 with dirty water, you have another problem. For example, A blockage in pumping mechanism (in hose, in pump etc), wrong pump hose position, faulty drain pump, and aqua sensor..

    • @shanerogers3869

On my machine im having the same fault. Dry machine at end of cycle, but slow leak into machine afterward.
It was the heat exchanger valve, the same valve you would change for an E19 error (0404 on the Bosch exploded parts diagram). My valve is working though, but the seals must be leaky.
I marked where the water level was in the exchanger after a cycle finised, then I could see the water level in the exchanger drop. At the same time I could see water slowly draining internally into the machine from the outlet of the heat exchanger (the small hole on the left panel inside the machine)
Im currently waiting for a new valve to arrive to chuck in

    Bill,
Did you ever check the filter???
You may have done all the detailed troubleshooting, but we don't see that.
Most Americans don't keep the filter clean.
That could be the simple reason for backed up water in many cases....right? Especially with a tech newbie.

Hi there, great video. I am getting ready to do this repair and am hoping I can as I can't get a repairman out for another month. I am waiting for the part to arrive, however I rolled the dishwasher out, and it comes out almost all the way. I can see in the side, but I can't get it to come further out so I can see the back. I am sure this is because of the hoses, but I don't want to start disconnecting those as the drain hose is tied up in a complicated way under the sink. Is this a common problem? Do I have to disconnect all the hoses or can I do this from inside the dishwasher. Thanks for any info.

    • @SparkyChannel
