Ok a question that has nothing to do with the Viper. How does your videographer do what she does so well? She is just THAT GOOD!!! Seriously, she doesn't even look at the screen, she looks THROUGH (past) it. We use Cell Phones to film all our content. So when you're watching, aim at the plane, locked arms, then watch, and keep arms where you're supposed to be looking...like you're running a turret gun.
I like the FMS 15th Anniversary one better. I don’t use a SAFE/AS3X rx in it and it flys great. Doesn’t need stabilization at all. I cut out that foam all the way back to the wires and stuffed a 5000 50c 6s Spektrum in there and it rips. I do like that livery though.
FMS makes the Viper for Eflite, but the Eflite Viper has soft tires, and comes in BNF, rather than PNP...so just think of it as different finish levels. Good luck, great plane! bprc.me/Viper
Excellent review, I've had my eye on a Viper for my next plane, I'm torn between the 90mm which will share my big 6S batteries with my other plane, or the new 70mm that I'll have to by another series of batteries for. The new upgrades are tipping the scales towards the 70mm. I've considered the 90mm version since I have several 6000mah 6S batteries for my Carbon Z Cessna that I'd like to share with a 6S jet. I know I can buy a lot of batteries for the price difference, I'm just trying to minimize the number of batteries i have to maintain. From your unboxing video, it seems like the battery compartment on this new 70mm Viper is tight even for a 3200 or 4000mah. 1. Watcha think about the 5000mah batteries? 2. Also, as far as the 3200 or 4000mah batteries, I'd prefer 100c batteries for jets, 50cc bare minimum. Will 100c 3200s or 4000s fit comfortably in the new 70mm Viper? 3. Any chance y'all are coming to the Nall in the Fall?
I have 2 of the blue and white version 2 vipers.Have u ever thought of adding 2 to 3mm,s of foam to the elevators for more surface area for better flares? (landings). I'm not sure if it would work or not, Brian. I love my vipers, but no matter what, they are hard to land clean.
Greetings Brian. I watched your reviews on the both the FMS and this version of the 70mm Viper. I asked Adam from AV8 this same thing. I am really curious which one you would purchase right now? I am ready to purchase, but a little torn on which one to get. The price is no issue - just want the best one. Thanks! Dale.
"Pilot Fatigue" is how we describe a setting where the Thrust Reverse is not only turned on, but also 100% Throttle is also mixed in, regardless of the Throttle Stick position. This is to avoid the sometimes overwhelming amount of items to remember during a landing, hence "pilot fatigue". This helps people mostly since it's somewhat unnatural to throw the throttle stick FORWARD while landing. We've explained this a few different times over the years. To be clear, we didn't make up the terminology "pilot fatigue", but rather just adapted it to our specific use for a quicker and easier way to communicate an otherwise elaborate, potentially wordy idea. Hope this helps!

@@BrianPhillipsRCthat’s not the first time I’ve heard they had bad customer service. I’ve not personally flown the V2 but man I’ve seen it in person and that freewing V2 is very nice! I would still swap the esc for an avion and Spektrum RX
@@BrianPhillipsRCcouldn’t take it. Had to order it with your links and a 6s 3200 50c. Just an FYI. For some reason the link took me to HH but took me about 4 or 5 times of trying to get it to ho through HH kept saying there was technical difficulties on their end.
The squishies have nothing to do with bad reverse performance, I’d say. Maybe a tiny bit. The Habu 50 is also a good example how inefficient reverse thrust can be. Hardly has any effect at all. The point is that the blades are optimized for max thrust forward. Some planes seem to have a way better performance, even when run backwards. Probably the larger ones that can afford the trade offs as they still have tons of thrust. The V 90 seems pretty efficient on thrust reverse. I love the looks of the V70 and agree with you on pretty much all you said, but the reverse thrust is rather disappointing. Screams like hell but very little effect. Oh and by the way: never add a LED without resistor. They will blow instantly as they can only take 20mA max and low current LEDs even less, like 3mA or so. No servo would work, with this little bit of current. Remember, Brian, that the Wingnuttech LED controller takes the current for all the LEDs on the Night Radian from one channel of the receiver. So, yes there is a current limit, but it was some 2 or 3 Amps. If you have used a LED without resistor and it didn’t blew, it was probably one with integrated dropping resistor. Thanks for all the info you provide in your videos, I hope that I can also give you some in return this way 😊. Love your channel - very entertaining.
Thrust reverse is almost a gimmick that is also not very good for motor. It's inefficient since when reversed its just blowing into much wider area than normal (which pushes air into a pipe) so its creating way less presure.
@@ernestostrman5147 I've seen a V90 re-review lately from TwoBros and there, the thrust reverse was very efficient. And also FGFRC did have a couple of jets that were also accelerating pretty impressively from stillstand on going backwards. The "truth" is probably somewhere in between. A mix of air flow and blade design and also motor power. For the smaller birds like the Habu 50 and also the V70, I agree that this is indeed more of a gimmick. Li'l Habu won't move backwards as soon as it "hits" a grain of sand. 😆 Ridiculous.
I HAD the original viper and I still HAVE the f16 - the f16 is much easier to land high alpha and doesn't like to stall without warning like the 70mm viper@@FalconWing1813
I've had bad vision for a large majority of my life, so I get it. If you can fly from the same spots, use every detail to help reinforce your depth perception, shadows are a great way to do it, if you can figure out what direction the sun would cast the shadow, then orient your plane in such a way as to see the shadow. This can be done with fast, or slow planes, but good idea to try this with something slow, and very easy for you to handle. When you're confident with this skill, you can start using it to help with other planes. I also try to keep an eye out ahead of where the plane is, especially with direction changes. This can be super tough, but it's necessary so you can predict challenges coming around the next turn. This might be all very obvious, and something you mastered many years ago, but I find these things to help somewhat. If you aren't doing these things, give them a shot. Good luck, and keep at it. Depth perception is a huge part of RC, and to be honest, there are people with ONE eye who can do it. This is a brain learned skill, just like muscle memory, so I trust with lots of practice, you can at least improve your circumstances as your eyes get a bit worse with age. One other tip, make sure you're having your eyes checked for cataracts. They will make you go blind, and you may not notice the change, since it's so subtle, over time.
@BrianPhillipsRC thanks, I appreciate the time you took on your reply. I will apply your tips. One thing I use from my other hobbies, pews, is I use my laser rangefinder to mark distances at the field. I lost my 70mm Thunderbird on landing approach because I plowed it into the treeline over 300 yards from the field. 🤣

All of these jets, in this class are really nice...
💯👍
i am 12 and my first edf was a squall delta wing kit. flies smooth and expected after couple trims.
SQUISHY!WITH SPRINGS!
Viper New is so from beatutiful spring softer tires ,
Still a beast to land. Strangely the 90 is easier
90 has less wing load
Would the F-16 70mm be easier to fly than the viper in this video ?
@@FalconWing1813I had the 70 f16, flew amazing, but a viper looks easier.
I HAD the original viper and I still HAVE the f16 - the f16 is much easier to land high alpha and doesn't like to stall without warning like the 70mm viper@@FalconWing1813
Seems to me to br refreshingly rugged. Got forward thrust in spades but anyone else feel a little underwhelmed by Viper's reverse thrust/
After 2 years, my biggest challenge remains orientation , especially since having to get new glasses with progressive lenses. Getting old sucks (54).

Viper 70 is so good. The new one with oleos are so obvious. Thx Eflite. Still super ugly plane which is why mine gets painted bright colors. Brian, please push this thing. You are also flying for experienced pilots here on yt and I would love to see you push this thing to its limits. Practice some inverted stuff or just get close to the eagle killing zone trees. I need to feel that carnage is about to happen please!!!!
LOL - okay, so ALMOST kill it ;) - I already have a VIPER KILLING ZONE!!!!!!! I don't need to have a size distinction added - LOL
Bought the ViperThe new one. , With generasjon 2 Spektrum battery 6 cell 3200 and 4000 mAh , This plain Schall fly moer than 120 mils+ faster than ever,, i se you do Fms.. this has les amp 85 than rhe new one tell me ? it has 80 amp and not the a\same motor..?

Do the free wing f-14
is it just me or do other people mute his intros?
Not just you😂😂
Yea just you.
His intros are loud and annoying, just like me! So I understand why they are not for everyone 😂

In the Chichén you showed that you should use 2 pcs 3s 3200 30c in parallell . Menas you got more flying time, but same Voltage 11,1v but in serial you got 3s+ 3s =22,2v.
What i liked by This video Clip you expl. serial 3s battery befor take of and you said Jucei Frute " Thats is a Hewing gum in Norway. Then you Said i love this plain with 2 pcs. BATTERY IN Paralell... " You mencioned Mignon" If they are Inside Your Wiper 70mm. and swich i over parallell. I do under stand you got srapes on the ving tips an the tail like your wife said to you .
Good but for 40€ more you can get Freewing L-39 80mm which is way better plane, more comparable to 90mm Viper.
its Klas a gain i would love to say to you .. its an F-f16 I i bye all you by ean i would love to have the new reverese have truste revers that you need to stop th aiaroplain or els i go in to the ens of the feels
Horizon re-hashing old stuff w/different paint schemes! They need a airplane encyclopedia so they can start making planes that are relevant, other than a timber! And where are my parts! Not your fault Brian ! Horizon is terrible in the service department, really SUCKS!
too much viper.... i dont know what's the best ??
old eflite viper 70 ? FMS Viper 70 ? new eflite Viper 70 ?
me i want that eflite continues the viper 90 and stops to the "out of stock" everywhere.....
FMS makes plane, difference is FMS has their electornics and HH puts their.
Omfg… only if I would’ve known of this earlier… got myself the v2 like 2 weeks ago🥲
